Laurannah Giles Ramey
Laurannah Grace Elizabeth Giles Ramey “Loppy”, 67 of Clayton GA. passed away November 6, 2002 at north east Georgia Medical Center after an extended illness.
Mrs. Ramey was born on April 24, 1935 the daughter of the late Humphrey Giles and Bessie Eudora Rogers Giles. She has been a life long resident of Rabun County. She was a member of Blue Heights Baptist Church and was a hair dresser for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three Brothers Roger Giles, Ray Giles, Milton Sambo Giles, four Sisters Parilee Giles Marsengil, Rose Giles Waters, Louise Giles Henson, Nell Giles Arrendale.
She is survived by her loving husband Clifford Ramey, two sons and daughters-in law, Tony and Kathy Ramey, Troy and Marsha Ramey both of Clayton, two sisters Olene Garland of Rabun Gap, Hazel Ledford of Clayton. Four grand children and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends Friday November 8, 2002 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Beck Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday November 9, 2002 at Blue Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Cannon and Dennis Turner officiating interment will follow in Wiley Cemetery.
Thomas R. Maloney
Thomas Raymond Maloney age 58, passed away on November 17, 2002.
Mr. Maloney was born July 23, 1944 in Phillipsburg N.J. and was a retired truck driver. He was preceded in death by his father Morton V. Maloney, and mother Ruth Savitz Maloney, two brothers, Charles Maloney and Richard Maloney, and two sisters, Judy Stem and Gladys Dereme, one grandson James York.

He is survived by two sons, Tommy Maloney and his wife Kippi of Loganville GA, and Todd Maloney of Dahlonega GA, Two daughters Tammy Taylor and her husband Troy of Clayton, and Kerry Miller of Baytown TX. Two sisters, Shirley Small of Pillipsburg NJ., and Joan Little of Pasadena TX. Five grandchildren, Ashton Maloney, Ashley Dixon, Brittany Taylor, Dillon Taylor and Jade Taylor.
The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home Wednesday November 20, 2002 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held Thursday November 21, 2002 at 1:00 PM, at Beck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.Derick Moody officiating. iIntermentwill be at Rabun Memory Park, Tiger GA.
Lesel Cannon Beck
Lesel Margret Cannon Beck, 89 of the Warwoman Community passed away on November 02, 2002 at her residence.
Mrs Beck was born in Rabun County on September 26, 1913 the daughter of the late Bently A. Cannon and Mary Williams Cannon. She was the widow of Lamar Richard Beck. She was a homemaker and a member of Battle Branch Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lamar Richard Beck, four brothers Jesse Cannon, Robert Cannon, Charlie Cannon, Marley Cannon; Two sisters Gurtha Cannon Deal, Annie Cannon Morgan.
She is survived by three sons, Albert Beck of Clayton, Warren Beck Sr. of Clayton, Luther Beck Sr. of Commerce GA; one daughter Laverne Beck Northcutt of Morrow GA; one brother James Earl Cannon of Clayton; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grand children, a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 Am Tuesday November 5, 2002 at Battle Branch Baptist Church. Her body will lie in state for an hour prior to the service. iIntermentwill follow in Antioch Methodist Church.

Linda Lou Keener
Linda Lou Keener, age 56 of Watson Riverside died Tuesday, September 10, 2002 at her home.
Born February 1, 1946 in Columbia, SD, she was the daughter of the late Darriel and Medora Jones Woolery. Mrs. Keener was a former employee of the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base exchange. She was an active bowler and bingo player and very active in Grand Strand YABA.
Surviving are her husband, Kermit "Sam" Keener, sons, Kermit Keener, JR and Kevin Keener both of Myrtle Beach; daughter, Donna Hudson of Murrells Inlet; brother, Jay Woolery of South Dakota; sisters, Marlean Kirkgasler of Montana and Shireen Kidd of South Dakota and grandchildren, Michael Keener and Michaelann Clarke both of Myrtle Beach and Conner Hudson of Murrells Inlet.
Memorial services will be 6:30, PM Thursday September 12, 2002 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel Myrtle Beach SC with visitation following the services. A Grave side service will be held 1:00PM Saturday September 14, 2002 at Wolffork Baptist Church Cemetery, Rabun Gap, GA with Rev Doug Porter Officiating.

Billy Moore
Billy Allen Moore, age 66 of Rabun Gap GA passed away August 13, 2002 at North East Georgia Medical Center Surrounded by his family.
Mr. Moore was born in Rabun County on 12/30/1935 and was preceded in death by his parents Lex Moore and Dorothy Mae Hooper Moore. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Moore was a member and Deacon of Head of Tennessee Baptist Church and a member of Brother Hood.
He is survived by his wife Betty Jean Parker Moore of the home, two daughters Rhonda Moore Henry, Terri Moore Messer both of Rabun Gap; Three Grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.
The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home Wednesday August from 14, 2002 7:00PM until 9:00PM.
Funeral services will be held at Head of Tennessee Baptist Church in Dillard Georgia Thursday August 15, 2002 at 11:00 AM. With Rev. Doug porter and W.A. Trotman officiating burial will follow in the church cemetery.

JoAnn Mannix Jarrio
JoAnn Mannix Jarrio, 67, of Clayton GA passed away Monday July 8, 2002 in an Atlanta hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. And Mrs. Jarrio moved to Rabun County in 1978 from Springfield IL with the Sangamo Weston Plant in Rabun gap Ga. Mrs. Jarrio was a member at St Helena Catholic in Clayton. She had worked at the Rabun county Chamber of Commerce welcome center for fifteen years and was the office manager. She was born on February 20, 1935 the daughter of Ernest and Dorothy Mannix.
She is survived by her husband Vincent Jarrio of the home, Five sons Daniel Jarrio of Palo Alto CA., Kurt Jarrio of Spartanburg SC., Neil Jarrio Doltewah TN., Martin Jarrio Atlanta GA., Paul Jarrio, Ocoee TN.; one sister, Sister Mary Alice Mannix of Springfield IL., Four grandchildren also survive.
A memorial service will be held at The Chapel of Beck Funeral Home Saturday July 13, 2002 at 11:00 AM with Deacon Lee Tollett officiating. Another Memorial Service will be held at Sacred Heart Convent in Springfield IL at a later date.

Alice Marie Boatner
(May 29, 1939 - May 14, 2011)
Ms. Alice Marie Boatner, age 71 of Cedartown, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2011. She was born on May 29, 1939 in Cedartown, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mallory and Edna Stone Welchel.
Ms. Boatner is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Watha and Arnie Gokey; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Robert Gerald Boatner, Jr. and Shannon; uncle, Charles Stone; grandchildren, Brandy Wayne Brady, Cassie Marie Boatner, Briana Leigh Boatner, and six step grandchildren.
Ms. Boatner is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Gerald Boatner, Sr.; sister, Faye Nichols and brother, Frankie Welchel.
The funeral arrangements for Marie Boatner will be conducted on Monday, May 16, 2011 at three o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Bud Davis and Rev. Barry McCullough officiating.
iIntermentwill follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family of Ms. Boatner will receive family and friends on Sunday, May 15, 2011 from six o’clock in the evening until nine o’clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

James Robert York
James Robert York age 17, of Clayton Ga. passed away Sept. 20. 2002 from injuries sustained in automobile accident. He was senior at Rabun County High School.
James is survived by his Parents Tammy and Troy Taylor, Dan and Lisa York, and Dale Dixon all of Clayton, Five Sisters Ashley Dixon, Misty Ann York, Misty Dixon, Jade Taylor, and Brittany Taylor; Two brothers Dilon Taylor and Taylor Daniel York all of Clayton. Grandparents Sue and Kurby Butler, Tom Maloney, Lucy York and Joe Key all of Clayton, and Great-grandmother Irene Warren of Tiger.

Tom R. Hopper
Tom R. Hopper, 70, of Mountain City died September 13, 2002 in the Veterans Hospital in Atlanta.
He was born in Jackson County, NC. on November 16, 1931. He served in Army from 1947 thru 1955, and worked in construction.
He was preceded in death by his wife Willamay Emory Hopper. His father Semer Hopper and Mother Margie Marrettia Mitchell.
Surviors include one son Johnny Michael Hopper of Germany, and one Daughter Mary Diane Rogers of Mountain City, three bothers Jim Hopper of NC ., Sammy Hopper, and Darell Hopper both of Clayton. One Sister Lelo Brown of Cullowhee NC . and Three Grandchildren Tracy Hopper, Misty Rogers, and Joshua Rogers.
A memorial service will be held Sunday September 15 2002, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Beck Funeral Home.

Hobert Keller
Hobert Keller, 85 of Clayton passed away July 27, 2002 at his residence after an extended illness.
Mr. Keller was born on April 7, 1917 in Habersham County the son of the late Milton Curtis Keller and Eleza Meister Keller. He resided in Habersham until his early twenties when he moved to Clayton. Mr. Keller owned and operated a grocery store in Clayton for many years. He was a WWII Veteran who served his country proudly. He was a member of the American legion, and Clayton Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Louise Elliott Keller, and one daughter Margaret Keller Greene.
Mr. Keller is survived by two sons Dan Keller and wife Kathy, Elliott Keller and wife Lynn both of Clayton. Mother-in-law Mrs. Willie Blalock Elliott, Six grandchildren, Two great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends Saturday July 27, 2002 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 Pm at Beck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Beck Funeral Home Chapel Sunday July 28, 2002 at 2:00 PM with Rev. James Turpin officiating. Burial will follow in Rabun Memory Park.
