William H. (Bill) Ramey
William H. (Bill) Ramey, 76, of Tiger, Georgia passed away on Friday March 24, 2006.
Bill was born in Rabun County and was the son of Rue Ramey and Flora Taylor Ramey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ramey Smith and a brother Don Ramey.
He is survived by his loving wife Peggy Jo Foster Ramey, a son William Blake Ramey of Hawkinsville, Georgia, and a sister, Nancy Kilby, of Clayton, Georgia. He is also survived by one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Ramey was a civilian scheduler for the U.S. Air Force at Robins Air Force Base, and was a member of the Tiger Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home on Saturday March 25, 2006 from 7 PM to 9 PM.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday March 26, 2006 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tim Hunnicutt and Rev. Leon Miller officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 PM at Rabun Memory Park cemetery in Tiger, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to, may make donations in Bill’s memory to the Tiger Baptist Church or to the American Cancer Society.

Eddie H. Norrie
Eddie H. Norrie, 74, 0f 121 Sorrell Drive, died Saturday, April 22, 2006.
A native of Greensboro Bend, VT, he was a son of the late Charles and Scelina Corrow Norrie.
Mr. Norrie was an employee of American Security at G.E. and was retired from Combined Utility, Easley. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of Monaghan Masonic Lodge AFM #251. He served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Jean Houck Norrie of the home, a son, Leslie (Butch) Norrie of Sheffield, VT; a daughter, Donna Goodman of St. Johnsbury, VT; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three stepsons, Tony David and Terry David of Greenville, and Stephen David of Ocklawaha, FL; seven stepgrandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a stepson, Leonard David.
Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with burial in St. Paul’s United Methodist Church Cemetery, Easley.
The family is at the residence.

Wilbur Lee Funderburg, Sr.
Wilbur Lee Funderburg, Sr. of Panama City, Florida, and Clayton, Georgia passed away on April 11, 2006 in Clayton, Georgia.
He was born in Aiken, SC and was the son of Fred Lee Funderburg, and Emma Lee Utley Funderburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lewis G. Funderburg, Ruben Utley, and James Funderburg, and one sister, Nellie Funderburg Ventra.
Wilbur is survived by two sons, Wilbur Lee Funderburg, Jr. of Martinez, Georgia and Wayne Funderburg of Panama City Beach, Florida; two grandchildren, Austin R. Funderburg and Erika A. Funderburg; one brother, Gerald T. Funderburg of Appling Georgia, and one sister, Hazel Funderburg Brooks of Clayton, Georgia.
At his request his body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Tony James Brown
Tony James Brown died Wednesday June 27, 2007 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, Georgia.
Services will be 1:00 PM Sunday, July 1, 2007 at Ivy Hill Baptist Church. iIntermentwill be in Penland Cemetery.
Survivors include his brother, Robert Howard Davis of Clayton, one son, Terrel Smith of Toccoa, GA, one daughter, Trena Smith of Toccoa, three aunts, Mrs. Janie Mance Scott, Mrs. Mary Evelyn Mance, both of Clayton, and Mrs. Jean Mance Masih of Newnan, GA; four uncles, Walter Mance an Johnny Scott, both of Clayton, Willie Mance of Philadelphia, PA, and Samuel Masih of Newnan, GA; seven grandchildren, one nephew, Steven Jones of Clarksville, GA.
The family is at the home of his aunt Jean Mance Masih and will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home Saturday evening June 30, 2007 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Sue Knight Foster
Sue Knight Foster, 73, of Clayton, passed away June 24, 2007 at Friendship Health Care in Cleveland Ga.
She was born August 20, 1933 in Pikeville Tenn. to Johnie Wilbur Knight and America Hattie Jane Turner Knight.
She was a homemaker and retired service industry worker. She attended Dillard United Methodist Church and was very involved at the Rabun County Senior Center until her health kept her from participating.
She was preceded in death by both parents; one daughter Susan Jeanine Foster; a brother, Clyde Knight of Dunlap Tenn.; three sisters, Ruby Yeargin of Pikeville Tenn., Lunie Alexander of Pontiac MI., Mary Lou Brown of Pikeville Tenn.; and her loving husband of 55 years Paul F. Foster of Clayton, who passed away February 5, 2007.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Charles Foster and wife Joyce, of Eastanollee GA, John Foster and wife Fran, of Cleveland, GA; and one daughter, Kimberly Foster Crunkleton and husband David of Tiger, GA; one brother, N.J. Farmer and wife Joyce of Crossville, Tenn, one sister, Fairdell Wyatt of Pontiac, MI; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday June 25, 2007 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at Beck Funeral Home.
A Funeral service will be held Tuesday June 26, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Beck Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Volk officiating. After the Funeral the Body will be cremated and the remains buried in the Bethel Baptist Church cemetery with her husband.
Ralph Waldo Fowler, Jr. MD
Ralph Waldo Fowler, Jr., MD; 79, of Clayton, GA passed away at his home after an extended illness.
He was born in Marietta, GA and was the son of the late Ralph W. Fowler, Sr. MD, and Irma Dobbs Fowler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Fowler.
Dr. Fowler is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Jernigan Fowler of the home; two sons, Ralph W. Fowler, III and his wife Lori of Kennesaw, GA, and Charles M. Fowler and his wife Lynn of Marietta, GA; two step-daughters, Sabrina Dutch and her husband Allen of Calhoun, GA, Leigh Stanford of Canton, GA; a brother, John Fowler and wife Sandra of Scaly Mountain, NC; and a sister, Phyllis Fowler Glenn and Husband Dr. Lamar Glenn of Athens, GA. Also surviving are seven grandchildren.
Dr. Fowler was a second generation Pediatrician and was a graduate of Medical College of Georgia and was an alumnus of Sewanee University of the South. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Clayton, GA, a member of KA Fraternity, a volunteer fireman at Tallulah Persimmon, and a member of the Rabun County Historical Society. He was also an avid hiker and wild flower enthusiast.
Memorial Donations in Dr. Fowler’s memory may be made to the Special Needs Library of Northeast Georgia % Athens Regional Library, 2025 Baxter Street, Athens, Georgia, 30606.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday May 29, 2007 at 4 PM at St. James Episcopal Church in Clayton, GA. A reception at the church will follow the service.

Gary F. Young
Gary F. Young, age 50, of Covington, GA; formerly of Clayton, GA, passed away May 26 2007 at Walton County Medical Center.
Gary was born in Rabun County on November 4, 1956, and was the son of Burrell and Carrie Henslee Young. He graduated from Rabun County High School, Class of 1975. After graduation He attended North Georgia Tech in Clarksville. He worked as a Master Plumber, Certified Welder, and was a member of the IBEW in Atlanta GA. He worked in the construction industry for many years.
Gary is survived by his parents, Burrell and Carrie Young of Clayton GA; one son, Adam Gary Young of Conyers; one Sister Carol and her husband Cary Thomas of Clayton; one Brother Alan Young of Clayton; two nephews Marc Thomas And Matt Thomas both of Clayton one niece, Christine Thomas Rymer of Ocoee Tenn.
The family will receive friends Monday May 28, 2007 from 7 PM until 9 PM at Beck Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday May 29, 2007 in the Chapel of Beck Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Shuler officiating. Burial will follow in Rabun Memory Park.

Della Marie Bowman
Della Marie Bowman, 78, of Clayton, passed away June 24, 2007 at her residence after an extended illness.
Della was a dorm parent at Rabun Gap Nacoochee School for 20 years where she took the children in as if they were her own. She attended Tiger Baptist Church.
She was born in Dahlonega, Georgia and was the daughter of Hazel Bell Byerly Anderson and Arch W. Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jerry Wayne Bowman and one brother, James Herbert Anderson.
She is survived by three sons, Bob Bowman of Ellijay, GA, SFC Charles Timothy Pierce of Canton, GA, Freddy Pierce of Woodstock, GA; four daughters, Cherylene Cross of Winder, GA, Judy Burch of Lakemont, GA, Rosa Elaine Hagerty of Gainesville, GA and Tina Ellen Tanner of Richland MO; three sisters Helen Ruth Stafford of Richland MO., Lillian Alma Jean Roth of Delaware, NJ, Maxine Anderson Pierce of Key West FL; and one brother Richard Anderson of California. 21 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren also survive.
The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home Tuesday June 26, 2007 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM.

Dennis Talley
Dennis Atlee Talley, 71, of Dillard, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday September 25, 2007.
He was born in Macon County, North Carolina and was the son of Lawrence Talley and Valera Burnette Talley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dale Talley, and a brother Gordon Talley.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife Betty Sue Thomas Talley, two sons, Marty Talley and his wife JoAnn of Mountain City, GA, Keith Talley of Dillard, GA; a daughter, Marsha Talley Ramey and her husband Troy of Clayton, GA; two brothers, Calvin Talley of Dillard, GA, and Garnell Talley of Chatsworth, GA; and one sister, Geraldine Talley Brown of Dillard, GA. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
Dennis was a veteran of the United States Navy, and worked in the construction and building industry, and he was also a member of the Mountain City Church of God.
The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 from 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the Mountain City Church of God on Thursday September 27, 2007 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Scaly Mountain Methodist Church Cemetery.
