Teresa ‘Terry’ West
Services for Teresa “Terry” West of Alamo were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22 in Springhill Baptist Church with interment in the Hazlehurst City Cemetery.
West, 58, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005 after a short illness. She was married to Amos West.
A native of Cumberland County, N.J., she was employed by the McRae Manor Nursing Home in McRae. She was a member of the Springhill Baptist Church and member of the Daniel Baptist Association Emergency Relief Organization.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her daughter, Denise Seabolt; son, David Wayne Iezzi II; sisters, Arlene Taminini and Loretta Berner; brothers, Carmen Depalmer, Richard Depalmer, Larry Depalmer and Bobby Depalmer; and one grandson.

Marilyn Brewer Miller Andrews
Services for Marilyn Brewer Miller Andrews were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11 in the Bible Baptist Church with interment in the Brewer Cemetery in Telfair County.
The Rev. Billy Williams and Bro. Doug Carter officiated.
Andrews, 56, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005 at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She was the daughter of the late Early and Ethel Owens Brewer and was the widow of Elbert Andrews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sue Brewer.
She was a native of Telfair County and had resided in Hazlehurst for a number of years before moving to Augusta. She was a member of the Baker Wood Baptist Church in Augusta.
Survivors include her sons, Greg Miller of Hazlehurst and Rodney Miller of Denton; sisters, Linda Varnadoe of Conyers, Sarilyn Ogilvie of Augusta and Judy Carter of Hazlehurst; brother, Jimmy Brewer; and four grandchildren.

Valma Smith
Services for Valma Smith of Helena were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14 in Helena Baptist Church with interment in the Helena City Cemetery.
The Rev. Mike Pollard and the Rev. Bill McKinnon officiated.
Smith, 91, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005 in Dublin. She was the daughter of the late Creighton E. Whatley and Ella Graham Whatley and was the widow of Oscar Smith. She was preceded in death by her sons, Creighton Smith and Don Smith.
She was a lifelong residence of Telfair County and was a member of Helena Baptist Church and was a housewife.
Survivors include her brothers, Ferrell Whatley of Towns and Harold Whatley of Aiken, S.C.; daughter-in-law, Javene Smith of Helena; two granddaughters and families, Don, Kim, Nicole and Justine Garrett of Dublin, Billy, Celese, Brittany and Brooke McKinnon of Helena.
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the Grunt Ministry, Helena Baptist Church.

J.C. Stuckey Sr.
Services for J.C. Stuckey Sr., of Cadwell were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9 at St. Mark Baptist Church of Dodge County with interment in the church cemetery.
The Rev. Charlie Hughes and the Rev. John Smith officiated.
Stuckey, 75, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2005 at the Memorial Medical Center in Savannah. He was the son of the late Johnny C. and Louise Beasley Stuckey and was married to Geneva Stuckey.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughters, Dorothy Stuckey of Cadwell and Delois McClendon of East Dublin; sons, Ulysses Stuckey, Herschel Stuckey, Roy Stuckey, Johnny Ray Stuckey, all of Cadwell, and J.C. Stuckey of Helena; brothers, L.C. Stuckey of Charlotte, N.C. and Louise Stuckey of Eastman; sisters, Clemetine of Atlanta, Penny Lee of Eastman and Doretha Jones of Miami, Fla.; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Austin, 3, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005. He was the son of Velvetine Austin of Helena. He was a native of Bibb County.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his sister, Aaliyah; brothers, Adrian and Antwon Austin of McRae, grandparents, Angie and Sylvester Austin of Helena.

Jewell Thigpin Davis
Services for Jewell Thigpin Davis of McRae were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6 at McRae United Methodist Church with interment in the Telfair Memorial Gardens.

Davis, 92, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005. She was the daughter of the late Willie Virgil and Laura Greenway Thigpin and was the widow of John Gross Davis, Sr. She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Rose Mae Claxton Thigpin.
She was a native of Treutlen County and was a member of the Duplicate Bridge Club and McRae United Methodist Church. She was a retired clerk for the City of McRae.
Survivors include her stepson, John G. Davis Jr., of Wheeler County; sisters, Willie V Parrish of Macon and Annie Williams of Springfield, Va.; step-grandchildren, Deanna Carmichael and Courtney Ray; nieces and nephews, Leita Stevens of Savannah, Billy B. Williams of Springfield, Va., Richard Parrish of Savannah, Gail P. Jones of Macon, Danny Parrish of Forsyth, Lynelle Tuten of Savannah, and Don Yancey of Gainsville, Fla.

Rev. Herman N. Mathews
Services for Rev. Herman N. Mathews of Florence, S.C. were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29 at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn with interment in Snowridge Cemetery in Ashburn.
The Rev. Carl Knowles and the Rev. Dexter Wilson officiated.
Mathews, 77, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005 in Florence, S.C. He was the son of the late Will L. and Estelle Johnson Mathews and was the widower of Cora Blue Mathews.
He was a native of Telfair County and was a long time resident of Tifton before moving to Florence, S.C. in 2001. He was a retired minister and had served churches in South Georgia for over 27 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tifton.
Survivors include his daughter, Sue Mathews of Florence, S.C.; sisters, Nora Walker of Rhine and Frances Knowles of Dalton; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mable Jean McRae
Services for Mable Jean McRae of Lumber City were held at 2 .m. Saturday, Feb. 5 at St. John Baptist Church in Lumber City with interment in the Green Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

McRae, 49, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005 at Meadows Regional Medical Center of Vidalia. She was the daughter of Mattie Lue Gilleylen and the late Luke McRae Sr and was married to Leotis Mitchell.
She was a native of Telfair County. She received her education at Central High School in Telfair County. She was a member of Free Mt. Temple in Lumber City. She served on the Missionary Board, choir and treasure. She served and worked faithfully in every way she could until her health failed her.
In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include her brother, Donald Hushes of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and stepmother, Louvenia McRae.

Dorothy Helen Roberson
Graveside services for Dorothy Helen Roberson of Cochran were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7 at the Harrelson Cemetery in Wheeler County.

Roberson, 76, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005. She was the daughter of the late James Smith and Fannie Ruth Reddin from Wheeler County. She had lived in Cochran for some time, but was from Wheeler County.
Survivors include her brothers-in-law, Gordon Roberson, Jr Roberson, Leonard Roberson and Ernest Roberson; cousin, Martha Wilkes of Cochran.

Willa Grace Horton Stone

Stone,69, died Friday,Feb. 4, 2005. She was the daughter of the late J.E. and Lucille Wood Horton and was married to Charles E. Stone Sr. of McRae.
She was a native of Jeff Davis and was a homemaker. She attended Holly Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her son, Charles Stone Jr. of Macon; daughters, Mary Stone of Macon and Teresa Harris of Chatsworth; brother, Jerry Horton of Flowery Branch; four grandchildren.
