Mrs. Gladys Bowen Collins, age 99, died Saturday at Heritage Inn Health and Rehabilitation Center under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was the owner and operator for over 20 years of “Our Shop” clothing store in Statesboro. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Gloria and James Collins.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law; Evelyn Wilkins of Statesboro, and Jean and Charles Howard of Statesboro; One grandson Rick and his wife Sue Mock; three granddaughters Lori Howard, Lynn and her husband Russ Rozelle all of Statesboro and Leslie and her husband Rowe Finch of Brunswick; Eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Collins will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Lower Lotts Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.

Mr. Justiniano Rojas, age 54, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2011. He was born on August 17, 1956 in Mexico.
Mr. Rojas is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Argelia Dugue Rojas; his mother, Ms. Elfega Ortuno Rojas; seven sons; seven daughters; four sisters; three brothers and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rojas is preceded in death by his father, Mr. Alfonzo Rojas.
The funeral service for Mr. Rojas will be conducted on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at four o’clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Jose Duvan-Gonzales officiating.
iIntermentwill be at Los Guajes cemetery in Mexico.
The family of Mr. Rojas will receive family and friends on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 from six o’clock in the evening until nine o’clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Mrs. Zenobia Jane Whitaker Fordham
Denmark Community
Mrs. Zenobia Jane Whitaker Fordham, age 92, passed away Friday, February 25, 2005, at her home in the Denmark Community. She was born July 25, 1912 in Bulloch County and lived most of her life in the Denmark Community. She graduated from Register High School in 1930. She worked numerous years for the U.S. Census Bureau and was also a correspondent for the Bulloch Times and Southern Beacon. She was co-author of a genealogy of the Fordham family. She was a devoted and long term member of Upper Black Creek Primitive Baptist Church .She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Wilbur P. Fordham, her parents, James T. and Debbie Whitaker, her sister, Velma Dickerson, her brother, James Whitaker and her grandson, Danny Fordham.
She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Yvonne F. Burnsed, of Pembroke and Becky and Dennis Hulsey of Denmark; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald W. and Jan Fordham of Alto, and Clisby A. and Linda Fordham of Denmark; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtice Smith and Betty O’Berry of Denmark and one brother, Hubert Whitaker of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 27, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at Upper Black Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Mickey Durden officiating and Elder Keith Hamilton assisting.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
The body will lie-in-state at the church one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Dr. James Anthony Roshto
Statesboro, Ga.
Dr. James Anthony Roshto, age 60, Physician of Obstetrics and Gynecology, died with family by his side on Friday February 25, 2005, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on January 16, 1945 in the town of Natchitoches, Louisiana, to the late Raney and Emmalene Roshto. He graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in 1962 and completed his Bachelor of Science in 1966 at Northwestern State University, in Natchitoches, Louisiana. In 1970, he graduated from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport, Louisiana. Upon graduation, Dr. Roshto served in the United States Air Force as a flight surgeon. He was stationed at McCoy Air Force Base in Orlando, Florida.
From 1973 until 1976, Dr. Roshto served as Chief Resident of Obstetric and Gynecology at the Medical Center of Georgia in Macon. He moved to Statesboro, Ga. in 1976 and began practicing at Ogeechee Clinic, now known as Ogeechee Ob-Gyn. Dr. Roshto remained in partnership with Dr. William Kent in the practice and delivered babies in the community for nearly 30 years.
A medical staff member of East Georgia Regional Medical Center, Dr. Roshto was previously a member of the Bulloch Memorial Hospital Staff where he served as Medical Staff President in 1991. He also served as a member of numerous medical organizations, including the American Medical Association, Ogeechee River Medical Society, Medical Association of Georgia, and Southern Medical Association. He was also a Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr. Roshto was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited and the Spring Creek Hunting Lodge. A collector of regional Indian relics, he also served as a member of the Archeological Society of Georgia. Many of his artifacts have been pictured and published in the Central States Archeological Journal.
Dr. Roshto is survived by his daughter and son-in-law; Yvette Rosto and Matthew Corse of Atlanta; his son John Roshto of Statesboro; his companion Julie Ramsey of Statesboro.
his sister Diane Cedars of Alexandria, Louisiana, his brother Gary Roshto of Natchitoches, Louisiana; two nephews and a niece. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his young son, Charles Michael Roshto.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
A private burial service will be held at a later time.

Mr. Mark Richard Hooley, age 46, died Wednesday February 16, 2005 at his residence following a brief illness. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a pipe fitter with McDevitt Heating and Air in Savannah. He graduated from Howie Academy in Orlando FL. and attended Georgia Southern University. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Daniel S. Hooley.
Surviving are his beloved wife Rita Corpas of Statesboro and their daughter Angel; his mother, Adele Hooley of Statesboro; a brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Donna Hooley and their son Danny; two sisters, Ellen Hooley and son Matthew and Laura Anderson and her son Joseph.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00pm at the Statesboro First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mark Minter officiating.
The body will lie-in-state for one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Eastside Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00pm until 7:30pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Mary Ellen Martin Jones, age 65, died Tuesday at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center after a long illness. The Pennsylvania native moved to Statesboro in 1957.
She was the secretary for Rockwell for several years. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and a member of the St. Mathews Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Helen Martin.
Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Bobby Jones of Statesboro; a special aunt, Joe Rothrauff of Pittsburg, PA.; a special cousin, Leroy Rothrauff of Santee, S.C.; several cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00pm in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating.
Burial will be in the Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. C.W. Lee, age 90, died Monday morning at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The native and life long resident of Bulloch County lived in the Stilson area all of his life. Mr. Lee was retired farmer and was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Irma Spears Lee of Stilson; two sons and daughters-in-law Chuck and Lynn Lee of Nevils and Stan and Angie Lee of Statesboro; eight grandchildren, Ben Lee, Wesley Lee and his wife Margaret, Gabe Lee, John Lee, Andy Lee, Amy Lee, Millie Lee and Kittie Lee; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Lee will be held Wednesday at 11:00am in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Elder Spencer Moore officiating.
Burial will be in the Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Tommy Jones, Sr. age 65, died Thursday, February 10, 2005 at Memorial Health University after a short illness. The Bulloch County native was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was the owner of Jones Brothers Produce in Portal for many years. He had attended the Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Tink and Daisy Jones, a sister, Diane Heath and a brother, Larry Jones.
Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Veronica Jones of Statesboro; two sons, Casey Jones of Portal and Tommy Jones, Jr. of Jesup; two daughters, Debra Kay Jones of Statesboro and Patricia Ann Murray of Blackshear; a step son, Tim Petchak of Mooresville, N.C.; two step daughters, Kristie Patrick and Heidi Hulker of Sanford, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Bobby Jones, Billy Jones, Danny Jones and Johnny Jones all of Statesboro; three sisters, Nancy Sheffield and Mary Anderson both of Statesboro and Patsy Pennington of Oxford, Alabama; several nieces and nephews also survive.
