Mitchell Sikes, Jr.
Mr. H. Mitchell Sikes, Jr.(Mickey), age 52 died Saturday evening at his residence. The Chatham County native was a 1971 graduate of Johnson High School. Mr. Sikes received his Associates degree from Armstrong State College and his BBA from Brewton-Parker College. He lived in Savannah until moving to Statesboro 12 years ago. Mr. Sikes was a food broker for Sell Ethics. He was an avid fisherman, guitarist, photographer and loved to surf. Mickey was a loving father, son, brother and grandfather.
Surviving are a daughter, Shelley Anne Sikes of Savannah; a son and daughter-in-law, Matthew Mitchell and Heather Sikes of Statesboro; his father, Herman M. Sikes Sr. of Nevils; a sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Don Shuman of Nevils; a grandson, Ryan Mitchell Sikes of Statesboro; his former wife, Sherrie W. Schwarz and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00am in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Elder Steve Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in the Deloach’s Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.

Mikey Cupp-Prince
Statesboro, Ga.
Mr. Michael (Mikey) Cupp-Prince, age 24 died Wednesday evening at his parent’s home under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Volusia County Florida native moved to Statesboro in 1998. He was a 2003 graduate of Statesboro High School. Mikey loved music and dancing. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Beverly Green.
Surviving are his parents, Beverly and Mitchell “Bubba” Prince of Statesboro; two sisters, Jamie Marie Boatright and Nannette Boatright both of Statesboro; a brother, Thomas “Mitchell” Prince of Statesboro; his paternal grandparents, Georgia and Thomas Prince of Augusta; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 4:00pm in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Dr. Max Alderman officiating.
Entombment will be in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Prince, T.J. Mack, Nathan Rucker, Jamie Boatright, Justin Prince and Brandon Bourland.

Mrs. Claudia Bragg
Statesboro, Ga.
Mrs. Claudia DeLoach Bragg, age 69, died Sunday afternoon at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The Tattnall County native moved to Bulloch County in 1954. She attended Georgia Teacher’s College (Georgia Southern University). Mrs. Bragg retired from Brooks Instrument after 44 years of service. She was a former member of the American Business Women’s Association. Mrs. Bragg was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church where she was a member of the Women’s Mission Union and the Jolly Christians. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary “Bo” Bragg.
Surviving are her brother and sister-in-law, Reverend Doctor M. Terry and Patsy DeLoach of Brooklet; three nephews, Jonathan DeLoach of Atlanta, Matthew DeLoach of Marietta and Josh Collins of Bessemer, Ala.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00pm at the Friendship Baptist Church with Rev James Barnes and Rev. Tom Osborne officiating.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.

Richard (Rick) Pintar
1957-2004
Richard Michael (Rick) Pintar age 46, 180 Arbor View Dr. passed away Sunday April 18, 2004.
A native of Sharon, PA., Mr. Pintar was the son of Robert I. and Fay Jazwinski Pintar. He attended school in Sharon, Pa and graduated from Cedar Shoals High School in 1975. His love of life was his family and friends along with baseball and golf. He was employed by Northeast Sales Distributing Company where he was a sales supervisor and was also a member of the University Of Georgia Catholic Center.
Survivors in addition to his parents include one son Jacob Michael Pintar; fiancée Paige Hopkins Mitchell both of Athens; brothers, Robert Pintar, Jr and Jack Pintar both of Athens; brothers and sisters in law, Bill and Jane Pintar, of Decatur, Ala; Mark and Tonia Pintar, of Athens and Tom and Krystal Pintar and their son Lee Pintar of Athens.
A funeral mass will be held at 6:30PM Tuesday at the Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel with Father Jack McDowell officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:30 — 9:00 PM following the mass. iIntermentwill be held at 11 AM Wednesday at Evergreen Memorial Park. Mrs. Sara Lee Simmons, age 84, died Saturday at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The native and life long resident of Bulloch County was a retired florist. She owned and operated a florist in Brooklet for several years and worked with Holloway’s Florist in Statesboro for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener. Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her husband, I.V. Simmons.
Surviving are a daughter, Pat Ray of Lake Toxaway, NC; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Randy and Lynn Simmons of Statesboro, Richard and Nancy Simmons of Winder, GA. and Ben Hill Simmons of Jacksonville, FL.; two sisters, Blondine Miller of Richmond, VA and Romona Niles of Charleston, SC; six grandchildren, Major Randall V. Simmons, Jr. and his wife Yetive of Richmond Hill and the U.S. Army National Guard, Camp Taji, Iraq, Alex Simmons and his wife Karah of Ridgeland, SC., Sara Rikkilynn Simmons of Winder and Sam and Ben Simmons of Jacksonville, FL.; one great grandchild, Cayson Simmons of Ridgeland, SC.and her stepmother, Pauline Lee of Statesboro.
Graveside services and burial will be held Monday at 11:00am at the Eastside Cemetery.

Mrs. Wanda Jean Lynn Morgan, age 52, died Saturday at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Tattnall County native was a 1972 graduate of Reidsville High School and graduated from Swainsboro Technical School as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was employed with Bulloch Memorial Hospital in the Emergency Room, Dr. Albert Deal and Ogeechee Home Health Care. She was of the Primitive Baptist Faith.
Surviving are her husband of 22 years, Jim Morgan of Statesboro; a daughter, Cannon Lynn Morgan of Statesboro; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Victor Talmadge Morgan of Statesboro and James David Morgan, Jr. and Nicole Morgan of Montgomery, Alabama; her mother, Valdorie Lynn of Collins; two brothers, Larry Lynn and Harry Lynn both of Collins and her mother in law, Lucille Nichols of Statesboro.

Mrs. Lila Mae Brannen, age 90, died Saturday at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. The native and life long resident of Bulloch County was a homemaker and, prior to her death, was the oldest living member of Paynes Chapel United Methodist Church in Jenkins County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Brannen.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Myrene Brannen Reddick and Jimmy Reddick of Sylvania; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles Wayne and Judy Brannen of Bloomingdale; a sister, Elizabeth Smith of Portal; a brother, Ernest Saunders of Portal; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brannen will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Paynes Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. David Hudson officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Sunday at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home, and the body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Mrs. Juanita Jones Bradford
Mrs. Juanita Jones Bradford, age 89, died Wednesday at Sly-view Health Care Center under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The native and lifelong resident was the owner of Brooklet Flower and Gift. She was a member of the Brooklet United Methodist Church, the Mollie Lee Sunday School Class, and the United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by Fred Bradford and a granddaughter Holly Bradford.
Surviving is her son and daughter-in-law; Romaine and Maurine Bradford of Brooklet; two grandsons Lee Bradford of Ft. Collins CO, and Ryan Bradford of Brooklet, Ga.; and three great-grandsons.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bradford will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Elder Randy Waters officiating.
Burial will be in Brooklet City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Patricia P. Darley Schaaf, age 76, died Tuesday at her residence. The Statesboro native lived most of her life in Statesboro, and also lived in Cordele, Ga., and Honolulu HI. She graduated from Statesboro High School, Georgia Teachers College (now Georgia Southern University), and did Graduate studies at Georgia Southern University and the University of Georgia. She taught at Georgia Southern University and Crisp County High School. She also spent many years as the Administrative Assistant for the Crisp County Board of Education in Cordele. She was on the board of the National Association of Educational Assistants, and one of five in the nation to be awarded the National Award of Professional Competency. She was also active with the Georgia Education Association. Mrs. Schaaf was also very active in the Deep South Chapter of the 99’s (and international organization of women Pilots founded by Amelia Earhart); and with the Wheeler Army Base Flying Club and the Aloha Chapter of 99’s, both in Hawaii. She was also a member of the Silver Wings. Mrs. Schaaf was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Statesboro, and o the Archibald Bulloch Chapter of the DAR. She was an avid and active fan of GSU football and Southern Boosters activities. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, E.L. and Flo Preetorius of Statesboro and a brother E.L. “Sunny” Preetorius, Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.
Surviving are her husband of 29 years Herbert H. Schaaf of Statesboro; her son and
daughter-in-law; Ray and Lisa Darley, two grandchildren, Brooke and Chance Darley; her brother and sister-in-law Bill and Virginia Preetorius, all of Savannah Ga; two nephews and a niece of Atlanta and Carrollton Ga. Also surviving are step-children; Bonnie and Tommy Hix of Lawton OK, Susan and Tom Antwine of Moncks Corner SC, and Donna and Michael Schaaf of Marietta, GA, and seven step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.
