Mr. DeBoard
Mr. Michael “Dee” Jeffery DeBoard, 47, of 137 New Prospect Road, Aragon, formerly of Cartersville, passed away Monday, May 26, 2008, after a prolonged illness.
Mr. DeBoard was born May 2, 1961, in Bartow County, the son of Barbara Ann Whitley DeBoard and the late Leo Frank DeBoard. Prior to his disability he was employed with the C&J; Construction Co. as a pipe fitter. He was a member of the Atco Baptist Church in Cartersville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Whatley DeBoard; a brother, Douglas Frank DeBoard; and a sister, Carolyn Elaine DeBoard.
Survivors include his mother, Barbara Ann Whitley DeBoard, of Cartersville; two brothers, David DeBoard, of Cartersville and Brian DeBoard, of Albany; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Melissa Gregory, Mary Janice DeBoard, both of Cartersville, Vivian Lindsey, of Aragon and Martha and Ralph Brannon, of Aragon. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 28, at 5 p.m., in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Moore officiating.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, J.W. DeBoard, Chris Fuqua, Cody Brannon, Chad Fuqua, Gary Davenport and Ralph Brannon.

Mr. Moss
Elmer S. Moss Jr., 82, died on Friday, May 9, 2008 in Greeneville, Tenn. He was born Aug. 6, 1925.
Mr. Moss was a graduate of Cedartown High School and the University of Georgia. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1943 and served in the European theatre of war during World War II until 1946.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian Inez George Moss; daughter and sons-in-law Michael Richard and Louise Moss of Houston, Texas; and Janice Marie and David Southerland of Lawrenceville. Three grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
A memorial service was held on May 24, at 1:30 p.m., in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home. Dr. Billy Brown officiated the service.

Mr. Mullinax
Mr. William Carl “Billy” Mullinax of Mableton, passed away on May 10, 2008.
He was born in Rome, on Nov. 12, 1931, to the late Roscoe and Mamie Carroll Mullinax. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Widson Mullinax and Roscoe Lee Mullinax Jr. and a sister, Mrs. Mina Gentry.
He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Cedartown. He graduated from Cedartown High School and attended Darlington College for one year. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion and the Marietta Elks Club.
Survivors include daughter, Mrs. Sheree Casteel, of Douglasville, and his son, Mr. John Mullinax, of Mableton. Three grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held on Monday, May 12, at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home in Atmore, Ala. with the Rev. Doug Coburn officiating. iIntermentfollowed at the Christian Home cemetery in McDavid, Fla.
Mrs. Doherty-Irwin
Mrs. Mary Weaver Doherty-Irwin, 83, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008 in Slidell, La.
Mrs. Doherty-Irwin was born March 5, 1925 in Cobb County to the late Glenn Jones and Lucile McCollum Weaver. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husbands Walter G. Doherty and Fred S. Irwin.
Mrs. Doherty-Irwin was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Whisperwood Homeowners Association, East Street Tammany Mental Health Association Board, AARP and a former member of the Slidell Business and Professional Women. She was a retired legal secretary having worked for law firms in numerous states.
Surviving are her two sons, Walter Glenn Doherty and Kevin P. Doherty, both of Slidell, cousins, Betty Gilbert, Carol McCollum Dawson and L.F. McCollum.
iIntermentservices were held Monday, June 2 at 11 a.m., in the family plot of Northview cemetery in Cedartown. Rev. Nancy English officiated.

Mrs. Totulis
Mrs. Martha Fay Gentry Totulis, 72, of Panama City, Fla., formerly of Rockmart, passed away Monday, May 26, 2008.
Mrs. Totulis was born in Polk County on June 26, 1935 the daughter of the late Rachel Lee Hembree Gentry and the late William Dwight Gentry. She was a member of the 1952 graduating class of Bremen High School and a member of the Hills Creek Baptist Church of Rockmart. She moved to Atlanta in 1953 where she was employed as a legal secretary. During the 1960’s she moved to Panama City and continued her career as a legal secretary and office manager for the law firm of Baron and Hilton. In the 1970's, she purchased the first of several motels and campground businesses. In 1981 she continued her career in real estate by becoming a licensed Real Estate Broker before retiring. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Doris G. Luker.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Scott Thomas Totulis of Panama City and one niece and two nephews.
Graveside services were held Saturday, May 31, at 2 p.m., in the family lot of Hills Creek Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Gerald McPherson officiating.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Wayne Hembree, George Hembree, Edward Hembree, Charles Mercer, Ricky Mercer and Lewis Collum.

Ms. Jones
Ms. Dorothy Lynn Jones, 33, of Cedartown, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2008. Ms. Jones was born on October 11, 1974, in Floyd County.
Ms. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, Troy Thomas and Dorothy Brackett Jarman.
She is survived by her sister, Denise Hellriegel Howard; her brothers, Bobby Harman and Troy Thomas Jarman Jr.; and a niece and a nephew.
Ms. Jones was cremated per the family’s wishes. The family requests that contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association in lieu of flowers.

Charles Sidney Smith
(July 16, 1936 - June 20, 2011)
Mr. Charles Sid Smith, age 74, of Cedartown, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2011. He was born on July 16, 1936 in Harrison County; Pine Bluff, West Virginia.
Mr. Smith worked for many years as an engineer and retired from Goodyear Engineered Fabrics.
Mr. Smith is survived by his mother, Maudell Parsons Smith; daughter and son-law, Jennifer Smith Martin and Chris of Rockmart, Georgia; son, Charles Smith, Jr. of Norwich, Connecticut and step-son, Mike Cole of Ramrod Key, Florida.
Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his father, Charles John Smith.
In keeping with Mr. Smith’s wishes he was cremated. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. McCombs
James R. McCombs, 82, of Cedartown, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008, after several years of declining health.
He was born June 19, 1925 in Polk County to Dudley and Irene McCombs. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a long-time member of Union Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Sue Carter, and one brother, Bill Winkles.
Mr. McCombs is survived by his wife Elizabeth Pyles McCombs. Also surviving are daughters and son-in-laws, Barbara and Larry Welchel, Sandy and Doug Ballard; daughters, Pat Turoso and Denise McCombs; four grandsons, three granddaughters, six great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Herbert Johnson; brother-in-law, Jack Carter; brother-in-laws and their wives, Robert and Mary Pyles, Posey and Jean Pyles, Jimmy and Rhonelda Pyles; and sister-in-law Agnes Martin. A host of nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 13, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Swift and Rev. Anthony Osborne officiating. iIntermentfollowed at Polk Memory Gardens with military rites conducted by Brewster-Cleveland American Legion Post No. 86 Honor Guard.

Mrs. Dyer
Mrs. Odessa Lou Dyer, 78, of Cedartown died Wednesday, May 14, 2008.
She was born on May 19, 1929 in Cedartown, to the late George Franklin and Plassie L. Calhoun Waddle.
She was a retired nursing assistant and a member of the Friendly Baptist Church.
Family survivors include son James Harold Dyer, daughters and sons-in-law Brenda sue and Jerry Veal, Diane and Edward DuBois, Beverly and Willie Smith and sister Betty Kutnyak. Seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, May 17 at 4 p.m. at the Friendly Baptist Church. Rev. R. B Hulsey, Rev. Jerome Simth and Rev. Charles Dyer officiated.
Newman Veal, Jerry Lee Veal, John L. Ross, Jody Guice and Edward DuBois served as Pallbearers.

Mrs. Ford
Mrs. Evelyn Marie Ford, 69, passed away Friday, May 9, 2008, after an extended illness. She was born Sept. 17, 1938.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Andy Woods, Sr. and Lula Fednander Woods. She was also preceded in death by first husband, Franklin Forrister and seven brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Ford is survived by husband, John Lawson Ford and Daughters, Marie Kay Clark, Frankie Lynn Young, and Tammy Gail Wigley. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mary Gray Neal, 67, of Marietta, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008.
She was born in Cedartown and graduated from Cedartown High in 1958 and West Georgia College in 1962.
Survivors include her husband Eugene Neal of Marietta, one brother Wallace Gray and his wife Ann of Cedartown.
Cremation Society of the South is in charge of arrangements.
Bronislavs Antans
1923-2004
Athens, Ga
Bronislavs Antans, 83, 653 Milledge Ave died Friday August 13, 2004.
Survivors include daughters, Alisa Claytor and Angela Antans, and five grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Octavia C. Lyle, 62, of Rockmart, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2008 in LaFayette.
Mrs. Lyle was born Jan. 1, 1946, in Sand Mountian, Ala., to the late James and Ivelvia M. Crawford. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt L. Lyle.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Emmitt Michael and Sherry Lyle; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Skip South; daughters Misti Lyle and Terrie Lyle; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Joyce Crawford, and Jimmy Lee and Virginia Crawford; and sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and David Dye. Six grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
