Mr. Sandy Alan Arnold, age 47 of Rockmart passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2008.
Mr. Arnold was born on August 2, 1961 in Polk County, the son of the late J. W. Arnold and the late Lois Lanham Arnold. He was a professional auctioneer and was owner and operator of the Trading Post Auction of Rockmart for the past 15 years. Mr. Arnold was a member of the Seney Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Robin Crabb Arnold, of Rockmart to whom he married
on November 30, 1979; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Shannon and Joni Arnold of Cedartown, Brandon Arnold of Rockmart and Colin Arnold of Rockmart; two daughters, Dixie Arnold and Abby Arnold both of Rockmart; one brother, Robert Arnold of Aragon; one sister, Deborah White of Aragon; and one grandson, Caleb Arnold. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Arnold will be held on Sunday, August 17th at 4:00 p.m. in thechapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Frazier officiating.

Mrs. Cammie Ronell Alexander age 86 of Rockmart, Georgia passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Alexander was born on August 2, 1924 in Hampton, Georgia, daughter of the late Arthur Rolader and the late Bessie Downs Rolader. She was a homemaker and a member of the Piedmont Ave. Baptist Church. Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Gartrell Alexander; son, Mr. Johnnie Alexander; son-in–law, Mr. Tommy Patterson; one brother, Mr. Garland Rolader; five sisters, Mrs. Mary Lewis, Mrs. Annie Dooley Arnold, Mrs. Claudie Blaylock, Mrs. Charlotte McDearis, and Mrs. Sara Davey.
Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Sue Patterson and Billie Jean Brown and her husband Jimmie all of Rockmart; four grandchildren, Tammy Wilson and her husband Gary, Dee Dee Cook and her husband Kevin, Tammy Carlton and her husband Jeff, and Jim Brown; eight great-grandchildren, Courtney Wilson, Alex Wilson, Tyler Brown, Logan Carlton, Tilman Carlton, Laney Carlton, Harley Cook and Atley Cook; and one great-great-grandchild, Benjamin Harrell.

Mrs. Willo (Deane) Jackson Blissitt, age 83 of Douglasville, formerly of Rockmart passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010.
Mrs. Blissitt was born on October 19, 1926 in Rockmart, daughter of the late Manco C. Jackson and the late Mamie Hayles Jackson. She retired from Independent Linen as an accountant and was a member of the Morning View Baptist Church. Mrs. Blissitt was a world traveler, an avid reader and served as secretary of the National Business & Professional Women’s Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Medford D. (Jack) Blissitt, Sr. on February 13, 1996; a sister, Mrs. Mary Jo Plumley; and a brother, Mr. Ralph Jackson.
Survivors include a son, Medford D. (Ted) Blissitt, Jr. and his wife Janice of Douglasville; and a brother, Raymond Jackson of Rockmart; two grandchildren, Marsha Smith of Temple and Melissa Miller of Northeast, PA. Four great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Blissitt will be held on Friday afternoon, September 17th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Stringer and the Rev. Mr. Cecil Ray Burnley, age 71 of Cedartown formerly of Rockmart passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2010.
Mr. Burnley was born on August 24, 1938 in Aragon, son of the late Robert Eugene Burnley and the late Ola Mae Brittain Burnley. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served from 1955-1958 in Germany. Mr. Burnley retired from the Engineered Fabrics Corporation with over 45 years of service and was a member of the Piedmont Ave. Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Miss Betty Jean Burnley; and a grandson, Mr. Justin Lee Crawford.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Brown Burnley of Cedartown to whom he married
on August 4, 1959; a daughter and son-in-law, Brandi & Mark Benefield of Cedartown; a brother and sister-in-law, Eddie & Peggy Burnley of Rockmart; two grandchildren, Matt Crawford and Ashley Benefield both of Cedartown; and three nieces, Pam Arp, Pat Robinson and Edie Brown.

Mrs. Evelyn Louise Williams Baker, age 63 of Aragon passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2010.
Mrs. Baker was born on October 1, 1947 in Floyd County, daughter of the late Fred Williams and the late Thelma Louise Stevens Williams. She was homemaker and was a member of the Seney Baptist Church. Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Robert Williams and Mr. Joe Williams.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Auther Baker of Aragon; two daughters, Susan Rae Wolfe and Jamie Marie Hand both of Aragon; three sons, Johnny Corey Baker and wife Mardene Baker of Rome, Sonny Keith Baker and wife, Amanda Nicole Baker of Aragon and Arthur Wade Baker and wife, Alice Fay Baker of Aragon; two sisters, Alice Rutledge of Taylorsville and Jeanette Williams of Aragon; and a brother, Steve Williams of Cartersville. Sixteen grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Shirley Sanders Barnette, age 72 of Rockmart passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010.
Mrs. Barnette was born on May 1, 1937 in Polk County, daughter of Cora Lee Sullivan Sanders and the late Buford Sanders. She was retired from the Sewing Factory and was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church. Mrs. Barnette was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Charles W. Barnette.
Survivors include three daughters, Lori Hendrix and Linda Dunnigan both of Cartersville and Sherry Barnette of Rockmart; two sons, David McEntyre and wife Francine of Cartersville and Michael McEntrye of Rockmart; and her mother, Cora Lee Sullivan Sanders of Rockmart. Eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren also survive.

Ashlyn Morgan Brown, infant daughter of John R. Brown and Ashley Gray Brown passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2010. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Mr. Jerrell Gray.
Survivors include her parents, John & Ashley Gray Brown of Rockmart; a brother, Ashton Jerrell Brown of Rockmart; maternal grandparents, Danny & Vanessa Wilkerson of Rockmart; paternal grandparents, Greg & Amanda M. Brown of Rockmart; great-grandparents, Velma Morgan and Ruth Chandler both of Cedartown and Fay Mundy of Acworth.

Mr. Bobby Daniel Bennett, age 79 of Rockmart passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2010.
Mr. Bennett was born on January 1, 1931 in Polk County, son of the late Hiram Baxter Bennett and the late Mary Lois Moates Bennett. He retired from the Lockheed Martin Corporation with twenty-five years of service. Mr. Bennett was a member of the Morning View Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Bennett of Rockmart; two sons, Billy Bennett and wife Fay and Ricky Bennett and wife Stacey all of Aragon; step-sons, Glenn Sorrells, Ricky Sorrells and Darrell Sorrells all of Rockmart and Denny Sorrells of Dallas; and two brothers, James “Jim” Bennett and wife Gwen of Valley Stream, NY and Billy Moates and wife Sara of Rockmart. Three grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Betty Dewell Bailey, age 80 of Rockmart passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2010.
Mrs. Bailey was born on November 12, 1929 in Richmond VA, daughter of the late James Gordon Dewell and the late Edith Opal Lassiter Dewell Cosby. She lived in Richmond until 1953 and moved to Miami FL. She lived in Miami from 1954 until July of 1972 when she moved to Rockmart. Mrs. Bailey was a homemaker and of the Presbyterian faith. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mr. David Prater.
Survivors include four daughters, Linda Bailey Rockwell and husband Tim of Interlachen FL, Erin Bailey Stevens and husband Charles of Rose Hill NC, Beth Bailey Prater of Rockmart and Julie Bailey McAlister and husband Tony of Rockmart; and a son, Cullen Kent Bailey and wife Patricia of Rockmart. Thirteen grandhchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral graveside services for Mrs. Bailey will be held on Saturday, February 6th at 2:00 p.m. in the family lot of Polk Memory Gardens with Brother Melton Moss officiating.

Mrs. Jewell Cox Brooks, age 88 of Powder Springs, formerly of Aragon passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2009.
Mrs. Brooks was born on April 7, 1921 in Bartow County, daughter of the late Ed Cox and the late Nora Mullinax Cox. She was a homemaker and a member of the Aragon Baptist Church. Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. J. L. Brooks on October 29, 2000.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne & Nancy Brooks of Powder Springs and Forrest & Joan Brooks of Aragon; and a granddaughter, Lesa & Russ Scanlan of Douglasville. Two great-grandchildren also survive.
