Mr. Thomas Earl Chappell, age 69 of Rockmart (Yorkville Community) passed away on Friday, March 2, 2012.
Mr. Chappell was born on November 10, 1942 in Walnut Grove, AL, son of the the late Mr. Marvin Chappell and the Late Mrs. Lora Louise “Littlelin” Griffin Chappell. Mr. Chappell was a longtime member of the Yorkville Baptist Church and was a retired concrete construction worker. Mr. Chappell is preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Clarence Chappell and a sister, Mrs. Marie Warren.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mrs. Wilma Chappell; a daughter, Mrs. Martha East and her husband Johnny of Rockmart; three sons, Mr. Billy Chappell and his wife Gigi of Temple, Mr. Roger Chappell and his wife Shannon of Rockmart, and Mr. Richard Chappell and his wife Kerri of Villa Rica; four brothers, Mr. Ray Chappell of Temple, Mr. Alton Chappell and Mr. Will Chappell, both of Boaz, AL, and Mr. J. C. Chappell of Remlap, AL; thirteen grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren also survives.
Funeral services for Mr. Chappell will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Yorkville Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Brown and Rev. Jim Feather officiating. iIntermentwill follow in the family lot of the Yorkville Baptist Cemetery.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Cagney Chappell, Derek Elliott, Trey Chappell, Greg Chappell, Gary Dillard, Johnny East, and Bobby East. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nick Stanley, Rick Crutchfield, Mike McFall, John Coman, Tony Fennell and Tony Cochran.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 5:00 – 9:00 pm.

MAC CAMPBELL
April 7, 1925 - August 27, 2011
Mr. Thomas McBride “Mac” Campbell, age 86 of Rockmart, Georgia passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011.
Mr. Campbell was born in Rockmart on April 7, 1925, son of the late Etta Akins Campbell and the late John Wesley Campbell, Sr. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rockmart. Mr. Campbell was a well known painter and will be remembered for his wit and laughter. He was a veteran of World War ll having served in the U.S. Army where he received a purple heart for injuries received in October 1944 at Naples, Italy. Mr. Campbell was one of the first state troopers hired at the creation of the Georgia State Patrol. He was the last of ten children, and was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Eddie Campbell.
Mr. Campbell is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dannie Campbell and his wife Jan of Mechanicsville, Virginia and Tommie Campbell of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; six grandchildren; twelve nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services for Mr. Campbell will be held on Tuesday evening, August 30th, 2011 at 7 PM in the Chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home, with Mr. Jerry McDurmon and Mr. Jimmy Lester officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #12 Honor Guard.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Nathan Dean, Don Tate, Mark Garrett and Johnny Garrett.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. until the memorial hour.

Sybil Beatrice Willis Conner
July 10, 1935 - July 20, 2011
Mrs. Sybil Beatrice Willis Conner, age 76 of Taylorsville passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2011.
Mrs. Conner was born on July 10, 1935 in Gainesville GA, daughter of the late Gordon Martin Willis and the late Lily Lola Conner Willis. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hurt Rd. Baptist Church of Smyrna. Mrs. Conner was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Betty Gill; and two brothers, Mr. Winfred Willis and Mr. Gordon Willis.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Joseph Conner, Sr. of Taylorsville; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Annette Raybon and her husband Jim of Dallas; son and daughter-in-law, Charles Joseph (Jody) Conner, Jr. and his wife Runell of Dallas; sister, Virginia Smith of Holly Springs; three grandchildren, Charles J. (Joey) Conner, III and his wife Tabitha, Courtney Thornhill and her husband Tim and Samuel M. Raybon; and four great-grandchildren, Luke Conner, Bradley Conner, Alyssa Thornhill and Marshall Thornhill also survive.
Funeral graveside and interment services for Mrs. Conner will be held on Saturday, July 23rd at 11:00 a.m. in the family lot of the Rockmart Memorial Gardens with Rev. Brent Tatum officiating.
The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Kelly Garrett, Collin Garrett, Samuel Raybon, Joey Conner, Tim Thornhill and Christopher Crump. Honorary pallbearer will be Kevin Crump.

KENNETH RAY CARTER
February 11, 1940 - March 10, 2011
Mr. Kenneth Ray Carter, age 71 of Aragon passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011.
Mr. Carter was born on February 11, 1940 in Polk County, son of the late Van Buren Carter and the late Mary Jane Moore Carter. He was a member of the Bellview Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for a number of years and helped start a senior citizens group called the Keenagers.
Mr. Carter was employed by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 6 years and the Marquette Cement Company for 17 years. He retired from the Georgia Power Company with 21 years of service as a mechanic. Mr. Carter was inducted in the ASE Master Mechanic Hall of Fame in Detroit, Michigan.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Sue Mann Carter of Aragon to whom he married
on August 10, 1960; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Stephanie Carter of Aragon; a sister and brother-in-law, Emily and Jerry Paschal of Rome; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Nathaniel and Velva Lou Carter of Aragon and James and Betty Ann Carter of Gadsden, AL; and a granddaughter, Kayleigh Carter also survives.
Funeral services for Mr. Carter will be held on Saturday, March 12th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with the Rev. Homer Hulsey and Rev. Mr. Ernest Callahan, age 67 of Villa Rica, Georgia, formerly of Rockmart passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010.
Mr. Callahan was born on July 13, 1943 in Cobb County, son of the late Viola Coalston Callahan and the late Lewis Cleveland Callahan. He was employed for many years in the dairy industry.
Mr. Callahan is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Rodney Butler of Douglasville; two step-daughters and sons-in-law, Judy Highfield of Rome, and Tammy and Steve Starling of Rome; one sister Mrs. Hazel Brewer of Villa Rica; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 in the Chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Hood officiating. iIntermentservices will follow in the family lot of Holly Springs Church Cemetery.

Miss Harriett Moon Campbell, age 79 of Rockmart passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2010.
Miss Campbell was born on October 3, 1931 in the Antioch Community, daughter of the late Lonnie Campbell and the late Annette Sorrells Campbell. She was employed for 18 years with the Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company and worked for several years in the library at the Rockmart Middle School. Miss Campbell was a member of the Bellview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Mr. Joseph “Joe” Campbell and Mrs. Nobie Campbell.
Survivors include a brother, James V. “Jim” Campbell and his wife Jean of Rockmart; a niece, Sandra McElheney and her husband Ronald of Rockmart; and a nephew, Larry Campbell and his wife Linda of Rockmart.
Funeral services for Miss Campbell will be held on Friday afternoon, October 15th at 2:00 p.m. in the Bellview Baptist Church with the Rev. James Coffman and the Rev. Jarrell Dickerson officiating. iIntermentservices will follow in the family lot of the church cemetery.
Miss Campbell will be taken to the church to lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.

Mrs. Annie Lucille Smith Coalson, age 84 of Cedartown formerly of Aragon passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2010.
Mrs. Coalson was born on July 18, 1926 in Polk County, daughter of the late Robert “Bob” Smith and the late Lizzie Treglown Smith Holland. She retired from Integrated Products, was a former part-time employee of Hardees and McDonalds and her favorite hobby was quilting. Mrs. Coalson was a member of the Euharlee Baptist Church of Aragon. She was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Robert Smith; and a great-grandson.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Gail & Doug Rayburn of Aragon, Kathy & Robert McDowell of Aragon and Wanda & Stevie Waddell of Cedartown; and a sister, Betty Waters of Rockmart. Six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Coalson will be held on Thursday, August 26th at 1:00 p.m. in the Euharlee Baptist Church of Aragon with the Rev. Brandon Waddell officiating. iIntermentservices will follow in the family lot of Aragon cemetery with Rev. Stevie Waddell officiating.

Thomas Otto Terrell, Jr., 70, of 300 Woodhaven Parkway, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, December 5, 2004.
A native of Palatka, Florida he was the son of the late Thomas and Muriel Helen Miller Terrell, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Bank of America formerly C&S; Bank where he was employed for 25 years as a consumer credit officer. He was a member, deacon and an usher of Prince Avenue Baptist Church, a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class where he served as class secretary for many years, and was past President of the XYZ's.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Helen Louise O'Kelley Terrell; a daughter, Terry (Terrell) Bennett of Duluth; and grandchildren: Kevin and Lauren Bennett.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Prince Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Ricketts and Rev. Doug Nix officiating. iIntermentwill follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be George Hutchinson, Joe Byrd, Charles Davis, Grover Bennett, Don Willey and Dwight Neil.

MRS. JESSIE B. CAMPBELL
Died June 3, 2010
Mrs. Jessie B. Campbell, age 90 of Marietta passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2010.
Mrs. Campbell was a long time member of the Crestview Baptist Church where she was active in Sunday School and the Senior Choir. She was an avid gardener and loved working in her yard. At age 85 she was still cutting grass. She loved plants and flowers and spent numerous hours caring for them. Her main focus in life was her family. She raised four children with tender loving care and attention. The highlight of her life was having the whole family together for special events and holidays. She is looking forward to being with her deceased husband and relatives in heaven.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean Campbell Crabbe and her husband, Charlie of Kennesaw and Linda Campbell Wilson and her husband, Mike of Marietta; two sons, Barry Wayne Campbell and his wife, Jeanette of Buchanan and Billy R. Campbell and his wife, Kathryne of Marietta; and one brother, Noble Brumbelow of Aragon. Eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Campbell will be held on Sunday afternoon, June 6th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home of Marietta with the Rev. Johnny Foster officiating. iIntermentservices will follow in the family lot of the Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
