Ms. Charlotte Dougherty, age 75 of Aragon passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011.
Ms. Dougherty was born on December 18, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Michael Solomon and the late Anna Lewis Solomon. She was a homemaker and was of the Presbyterian faith. Ms. Dougherty became a member of the Aragon community in November 2010 when she moved from Pittsburgh to be closer to family members.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Dougherty of Aragon and Patricia Rock and husband Tim of Pittsburgh; three sons, John Dougherty and wife Rebecca of Buford, Stephen Dougherty, Sr. and wife Marsha of Aragon and Michael Veneris and wife Jessica of Knoxville, TN; and a brother, David Solomon of Pittsburgh. Sixteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral graveside and interment services for Ms. Dougherty will be held on Saturday, March 5th at 2:00 p.m. in the family lot of Floyd Memory Gardens with Pastor Kevin Kansknecht officiating.

Mary Jacobs Dunaway
December 24, 1942 - January 14, 2010
Mrs. Mary Jacobs Dunaway, age 67 of Rockmart passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2010.
Mrs. Dunaway was born on December 24, 1942 in Rockmart, daughter of the late Wyley Clyde Jacobs and the late Mary “Dee” Ardelia Chitwood Jacobs. She was a retired employee of the Wal-Mart Corporation with over twenty years of service with the Cedartown store and was a member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James R. “Jimmy” Dunaway of Rockmart; a daughter, Shannon Krause and husband Stephen of Port Orange, FL; a son, Kerry Dunaway and wife Lynn of Rockmart; and two sisters, Carole Jacobs of Riverdale and Jean Loefer of Orlando, FL. Three grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dunaway will be held on Saturday afternoon, January 16th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Reynolds, the Rev. Mr. Dwayne Anthony Dunn, age 44 of Atlanta Hwy., Rockmart passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2009.
Mr. Dunn was born on July 23, 1965 in Cobb County, son of Wesley Dwayne Dunn and Linda Thornburg Dunn. He was self-employed in the lawn maintenance industry and was a member of the Vinings Baptist Church. Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. Charles Wesley Dunn and Mrs. Annie Lee Dunn; and maternal grandparents, Mr. Ernest Ray Thornburg and Mrs. Otie Mae Thornburg.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Harrell Dunn of Rockmart to whom he married
on May 12, 2005; parents, Wesley & Linda Dunn of Smyrna; a sister, Kelley Dunn of Roswell; two step-daughters, Michelle Vann of Rockmart and Crystal Gates and husband Andy of Milton, FL; and a step-granddaughter, Riley Gates also of Milton, FL. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Dunn will be held on Wednesday, September 9th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with the Rev. Steven Davis officiating and Mrs. Kim Thornburg Belfore will provide a eulogy. iIntermentservices will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the family lot of the Georgia Memorial Park cemetery of Marietta.

Mrs. Teresa Jane Wright Davenport, age 58 of Rockmart passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2009.
Mrs. Davenport was born on May 17, 1950 in Floyd County, daughter of the late Frank Wright and the late Margie Williams Wright. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rockmart.
Survivors include her husband, Guy Davenport, Jr. of Rockmart; two daughters, Stefanie Davenport and Camille Cooper and husband Brian all of Cartersville; a son, Collin Davenport of Rockmart; a brother, Carey Wright of Aragon; and one grandchild.
Funeral services for Mrs. Davenport will be held on Monday, April 27th at 11:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Rockmart with Rev. Al Cunningham officiating. iIntermentwill follow in the family lot of Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Doyle Dawson, age 70 of Cedartown passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2009.
Mr. Dawson was born on July 30, 1928 in Polk County, son of the late Mr. John Cobb Dawson and the late Gladys Blankenship Dawson. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Ballew and Bettey Ingram; and a brother, Mr. Earl Bud Dawson.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Farmer Dawson; three daughters, Judy Lynn Wood, Donna Jean Lawrence and Hope Marie Williams; three sons, Kenneth Wayne Dawson, Tony Scott Dawson and Darrell Eugene Dawson; and two brothers, Charles Cobb Dawson and William Dawson. Ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Dawson will be held on Tuesday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Mrs. Tina Dean Davenport, age 48 of Rockmart passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011.
Mrs. Davenport was born on December 29, 1962 in Floyd County, daughter of Linda McBryde Tillery and the late Dwight Dean. She was a graduate of the Cedartown High School Class of 1980 and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Hansley Davenport; and mother & step-father, Linda and Elwyn Tillery all of Rockmart.

Pastor Edward Milton “Ed” Elliott, Jr. age 80 of Alvaton, GA formerly of Aragon passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at his residence.
Pastor Elliott was born on December 29, 1931 in Rome, GA son of the late Edward Milton Elliott, Sr. and the late Minnie Lee Huckeba Elliott. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and the United States Marines and was in law enforcement.
He had been the pastor of Alvaton Baptist Church for over 25 years and in the ministry for over 50 years, pastoring in Texas, Tennessee, South Carolina and Georgia. Pastor Elliott was preceded in death by two sons, Mr. Walter Charles Elliott and Mr. Edward M. “Rusty” Elliott; a daughter, Mrs. Linda Sue Elliott Rodriguez; and a sister, Mrs. Gloria Elliott Crouse.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lois Massey Elliott of Alvaton; three daughters, Laura Frances Elliott Green of Rome, Rebekah Elliott Armstrong and her husband Mike of Arlington, TX and Carolyn Elliott Margin and her husband Byrom of Sinaloa, Mexico; daughter-in-law, Deborah Roberson Elliott of Ridge Springs, SC; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Edwards was born on April 13, 1949 in Cartersville, daughter of the late Harvey Stell and the late Bertha Murphy Stell. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. James (Jimmy) Edwards; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Beddington and Mrs. Eddie Mae Fox; and a brother, Mr. James Stell.

Mr. James “Jim” Marion Elder age 85 of Rockmart passed away Monday, February 15, 2010.
Mr. Elder was born on March 11, 1924 in Haralson County, son of the late Shaw Elder and the late Susie Jane Proctor Elder. He was a carpenter and a member of the Holland Baptist Church of Florence, Alabama. Mr. Elder was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He was a prisoner of war and was awarded a purple heart. Mr. Elder was a member of the Florence Lodge #14 F. & A.M. of Alabama.
Survivors include his wife, Maudie Carter Elder of Rockmart to whom he married
on July 19, 1949; a half-sister, Anne Davis of Marietta; a step-sister, Jewell Sosebee of Powder Springs; and two sisters-in-law, Jewell Proctor and Louise Proctor both of Rockmart. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Elder will be held on Thursday afternoon, February 18th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with the Rev. Master Elijah “Eli” Paul Eastling, 4 month old infant son of Delmar Bryan Eastling and Nicki Lynn Morgan of Cedartown, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2008.
Eli was born on June 25, 2008 in Floyd County. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Linda Sue Thompson Eastling; and maternal great-grandfather, Paul Frank Allen.
In addition to his parents he is survived by a sister, Kelsey Nashay Linda Eastling of Cedartown; maternal grandparents, Lisa & Donald Morgan of Cedartown; parental grandfather, Delmar Brock Eastling of Cedartown; and great maternal grandmother, Martha Allen of Cedartown.
Graveside services for Master Eli Eastling will be held on Saturday afternoon, November 1st at 3:00 p.m. in the New Prospect Church cemetery with Rev. James Rosser officiating.
