Zebbie Cantrell
Native of Fannin County; Survived by family
Zebbie Thomas Cantrell, 70, of Marietta, Ga., formerly of Fannin County, died July 28, 2004, in the Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.
Cantrell was born July 26, 1934, in Morganton to the late Elgin and Vestie Davenport Thomas. She was a Avon representative for 35 years and a member of the Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Thomas Cantrell of the home; sons Jerry Cantrell of Dallas, Ga., and Jimmy Cantrell of Marietta; brothers Bobby Thomas and Bryson Thomas, both of Morganton, and Bert Thomas of Blue Ridge; and sister Fannie Mae Richards of Holly Springs, Ga. Seven grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held July 31 at 11 a.m. from the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home chapel with the Brother Bert Thomas and the Rev. Eric Davenport officiating. Music was provided by Saved by Grace.
Pallbearers included Howard Woody, Arnold Watkins, Ray Watkins, Danial Thomas, Ricky Thomas, Russell Thomas and Roger Thomas.
iIntermentwas in the New Union Baptist Church cemetery in Union County, Ga.
Arrangements were by the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge.
J.C. Dyer
Native of Fannin County; Retired bus driver
Mr. J.C. better known as “Jake” Dyer, 77, of Epworth died on July 31, 2004, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Dyer was born in Fannin County to the late John and Dellie Dyer on Oct. 2, 1926.
He retired from the Fannin County School System as a bus driver after 21 years of service. Dyer thoroughly enjoyed his job and especially cared for all the children that had been on his bus route throughout the years. He was a member of the Hipps Chapel Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by sister Minnie Dyer Wright and brother Clifford Dyer.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years Ruby Queen Dyer of the home; daughters and sons-in-law Judy and Arthur Hicks of Epworth, Nancy and Chuck Patterson of Blue Ridge; sons and daughter in laws Larry Dyer, Jeff Dyer, Ted and Brenda Dyer and Matt and Ann Dyer, all of Epworth; sisters Ethel Key and Bonnie Mashburn, both of Epworth; brothers Millard “Bud” Dyer of Talking Rock, Ga., and Marvin Dyer of Lafayette, Ga.; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Aug. 2 at 4 p.m. from the chapel of the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge with the Rev. Delmar Davenport and the Rev. Ernest German officiating.
Music was by the Hipps Chapel Church choir. Pallbearers included Blake Dyer, Chase Dyer, John Dyer, Justin Dyer, Andy Dyer, Adam Dyer and Brandon Dyer.
Granddaughters served as honorary pallbearers, Donna Sneed, Debbie Patterson, Tabatha Whitaker, Brandy Heffner, Candy Hicks, Amber Hicks, Lacey Patterson, Sarah Dyer, Syndel Dyer, Tiffany Brown and Krystal Rush.
iIntermentfollowed in the Colwell Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requested that donations be made to the Colwell Church cemetery Fund.
Mary Jo Wilson
Native of Fannin County; Survived by family
Mary Jo Wilson, 72, of Blue Ridge, died Aug. 2, 2004, at her home.
Wilson was born July 3, 1932, in Fannin County to the late W. R and Ellen Crisp Collins.
She was a member of the Morganton Baptist Church.
Wilson was preceded in death by her husband Robert Fulton “Bob” Wilson and son Danny Wilson.
Survivors include granddaughter and husband Tammy and Lee Dillard of Murphy, N.C., and grandson Robert Wilson of Blue Ridge; sister Willia Mae Bridges of Thomasville, Ga.; brother Forrest Collins; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley Tatum and Ethan Dillard.
Funeral services were held Aug. 4 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Claude Mathis officiating.
Music was by Anna Watkins, Melody Davenport and Delores Gibbs.
Pallbearers included Carl Collins, Kevin Collins, Charlie Collins, Jim Collins, Lee Dillard, and Robert Wilson.

Simon Bucel
Veteran of World War II; Devoted husband
Simon “Sy” Bucel, 80, of Cherry Log, formerly of Naples, Fla., of 33 years, died July 24, 2004. He was a veteran of World War II in the Army Air Force.
He was a loving husband and father. Bucel had a passion for camping and 18 wheelers. He will be dearly missed by his wife and family and all that loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mary B. Bucel; sons and daughters-in-law Daryle and Mary Bucel and Dennis and Shirley Cerniuk; daughters and sons-in-law Cathy and John Boyette and Josie and Scott Pendarvis; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. No services are planned and donations in his memory may be made to your favorite charity.
Hailey Truelove
She will be greatly missed by all family and friends
Little Miss Hailey Whynell Truelove, 4, died Jan. 24, 2005, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Also her father, Joey Lee Truelove, died from the accident.
She was born in Union County, Ga., on March 25, 2000.
Miss Truelove attended Cheryl’s Daycare in Blue Ridge.
She was preceded in death by grandparents Anthony “Tony” Ray Truelove and Sarah and Naaman Thomas.
She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
Survivors include her mother Amanda King Truelove of the home; brother Joshua A. Truelove also of the home; maternal grandparents Angela and Phillip Tallent of Blue Ridge and Jack King of Blairsville; paternal grandparents Edith Truelove Arrowsmith and George L. Arrowsmith of Gainesville; great-grandparents Polly and Cecil King of Blairsville and Hattie Grace White of Cleveland, Ga.; cousins Destiny King, Kimberly Wyant, Courtney Wyant, Cassie McDonald, Parker McDonald, Will Sundermon and Megan Raines; and many other relatives and little friends.
Funeral services were held Jan. 28 at 4 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Rex Mashburn and the Rev. Larry Allison officiating.
Pallbearers included Kevin Collins, Jamie Self, Trevor Wyant, Chris Raines, Cody Hughes, J.J. Grant and Harry Lark.

Joey Truelove
Attended Calvary Holiness will be greatly missed
Joey Lee Truelove, 24, of Blue Ridge, died Jan. 24, 2005, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. His daughter, little Miss Hailey W. Truelove, also died in the accident.
He was born in Hall County, Ga., on Aug. 11, 1980, to the late Anthony “Tony” Ray and Joan Martin Truelove.
He was a self employed carpenter.
Truelove was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Gainesville, Ga., but locally attended the Calvary Holiness Church in Murphy, N.C.
He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Amanda K. Truelove of the home; son Joshua A. Truelove also of the home; mother Edith Truelove Arrowsmith of Gainesville; brothers Jason Perry Truelove of Gainesville, Harry Butch Lark Jr. of Flowery Branch, Ga., and Timothy Lark of Gainesville; sisters Toni Lee Carver of Seneca, S.C., Lora McDonald of Flowery Branch, Johnny Sun-dermon of Park City, Utah, and Sandra Loggins of Gainesville; step-sister Cynthia Arrowsmith of Gainesville; grandmother Hattie Grace White of Cleveland; brother-in-law Jacob Tallent of Blue Ridge; sister-in-law Katrina Wyant; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Lillie Ensley
Good Christian mother, grandmother and wife
Lillie Susan Ensley, 78, of Blue Ridge, died Jan. 25, 2005, in the Blue Ridge Health Care Center.
Born in Fannin County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Beecher Allen and Samantha “Mantie” Collis Allen.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Fred H. Ensley.
She retired from Goldkist and was a longtime member of Damascus Baptist Church.
Ensley was an avid reader, loved to fish and enjoyed gardening. She will be remembered as a good Christian mother, grandmother, and wife.
She is survived by son Lynuel Ensley of Blue Ridge; daughters and sons-in-law Christine and Gene Anderson of Marietta, Geraldine and the Rev. Donny Mathis of Blue Ridge, and Patricia and the Rev. David Mashburn of Epworth; brother and sister-in-law Johnny and Vennie Allen of Blue Ridge; sister Retheal Crofton of Hohenwald, Tenn.; sister-in-law Polly Allen of Akron, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. from Damascus Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen Collis, the Rev. Donny Mathis and the Rev. David Mashburn officiating. Music was by J.W. Patterson and the Beach Family.
Pallbearers included Stephen Anderson, Gene Anderson, James Mathis, Joseph Ensley, Jonathan Mashburn and Timothy Ensley.

James Williams
Veteran of Foreign Wars, American Legion member
James Howard Williams, 76, of Benton, Tenn., died Jan. 25, 2005, in Cleveland.
Williams was born Jan. 10, 1929 in Fannin County to the late Hamby and Julia Dilbeck Williams.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Sue and Peter Stalgis of Seattle, Wash. and Martha and Danny Shope of Bradenton, Fla.; sons and daughter-in-law Jeff and Rhonda Williams and Mike Williams, both of Ocala, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law Lloyd and Nattie Williams of Louisville, Texas; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. from the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Will Lankford officiating. Music was provided by Valerie Taylor.
