Rosa White

Former employee of Levi Strauss
Rosa Lee White, 82, of Cleveland, Tenn., died Nov. 8, 2006, in a Chattanooga hospital.
She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and was formerly employed with Levi Strauss in Blue Ridge for 20 years.
She was born May 28, 1924, to the late John and Mary Bell Newman and preceded in death by her son, George Mull.
She is survived by her husband Virgil White of Cleveland; three children: Jim and Janet Mull of Memphis, Rosa Lynn Miller of Black Creek, Wis., and John Glisson of Fairborn, Ohio; four stepchildren: Kaye and Johnny McClanahan, Sarah and Chuck Suits, Elizabeth and Kenneth Fortner, all of Cleveland, and Frank and Natalie White of Clarksville; 11 grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Nov. 11 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. R.T. Roberts officiating.
iIntermentfollowed in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Mike Mull, Chris Mull, Glenn Harbison, Joshua Harbison, Caleb Harbison and Devon Miller.

James Loudermilk

Masonic Lodge member, loving father
James Elmer Loudermilk, Jr., 80, of Turtletown, died Nov. 5, 2006, at the U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville.
Junior was a native of the Copper Basin area and was retired as a repairman with the Tennessee Copper Co. He was a member of the Ducktown Lodge #241 F&AM and a member of the Mount Vernon Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Elmer and Florence Worley Loudermilk, and two sons, Ronnie Loudermilk and James Loudermilk.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Estelle Wallace Loudermilk of the home; daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Markie Huffman of Turtletown; three brothers, Jess Loudermilk, Bill Loudermilk and Jerry Loudermilk, all of Turtletown; two sisters, Irene Loudermilk and Opal Jones, both of Turtletown; three grandchildren, Becky and Russell Towl, Laura Huffman and Joshua Loudermilk.
Funeral services were held Nov. 8 from the Mount Vernon Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Ray Harper, the Rev. Glen Stiles and the Rev. Terry Gladson officiating. Music was by Freddie Hyde.
Pallbearers included Mike Moreland, Russell Towl, Danny Allison, Bruce Loudermilk, Mike Loudermilk, Kenny White, Larry Allen and Bob Baliles.
Honorary pallbearers included James Hughes, Mitchell Loudermilk, Vernon Kennedy, Russell O’Neal, Al Patterson, Don Hyde, Herman Boring, Faron Turner, Winston Jones, Henry Silcox, Cleve Oliver, J.M. Morrow, Bo Kimsey, Lex Kimsey, Jimmy Ritchie, Joe Patterson, Casey Crago, Danny Taylor, Bud Taylor, R.M.Collins, Benny Hughes, Grady Key, Allen Uhlik, Bill Davis and Raymond Allison.
iIntermentfollowed in the church cemetery with graveside services conducted by the Ducktown Lodge.
Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill was in charge of the arrangements.

Samuel Boring

World War II veteran, survived by family
Samuel David Boring, 86, of Blairsville, Ga., died Nov. 7, 2006, at Union County nursing home.
Mr. Boring was born March 29, 1920, in Polk County, Tenn., to the late Jesse James and Ella Mae Carver Boring.
A member of Crofts Chapel Methodist Church, the Alhambra Shrine, Ducktown Masonic and the Eastern Star, he served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Joan and Lee Roy Satterfield of Turtletown and Judy and Jerry Walling of Tracy City, Tenn.; sisters Edna Mae Ralston and Buna Lee Dale both of Ellijay; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Nov. 9 from the Crofts Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Ernest German officiating.
iIntermentfollowed in Crofts Chapel Methodist Church cemetery.
Pallbearers included Jerry Wallin, Lee Roy Satterfield, Dr. Eric Satterfield, Todd Satterfield, Chris Wallin and David Greer.
The Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville was in charge of the arrangements.

Brenda Mahan

Resident of Cleveland, survived by family
Brenda Joyce Whittenbarger Mahan, 60, of Cleveland, Tenn., died Nov. 10, 2006, at her home.
She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.
Mrs. Mahan was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Hazel Ledford Whittenbarger.
She is survived by her husband Gary Mahan of Cleveland; daughter Shawna Diane Hayes of Cleveland; granddaughter Tiffani Nicole Hayes of Benton, Tenn.; sister Wanda Sue Patterson of Lula, Ga.; brothers Willard Lynn “Brownie” Whittenbarger and Rusty Lee Whittenbarger, both of McCaysville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Nov. 13 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Kinzel Hooker officiating.
iIntermentfollowed in the Shiloh cemetery with the release of white doves concluding the service.
Pallbearers included Scotty Taylor, David White, Mike Peffery, Mike Patterson, Joey Whittenbarger, Steve Ledford, Rusty Whittenbarger and Brownie Whittenbarger.
Honorary pallbearers included Donnie Mahan, Phil Mahan, Carl Wilson, Charlie Ballew, Mitchell Taylor and George Marty.
Ralph Buckner Funeral Homes and Crematory was in charge of the arrangements.

Joe Paulette

Vietnam veteran, survived by family
Joe Anthony Paulette, 57, of Suches, Ga., died Nov. 7, 2006, in the Northside Hospital Cherokee in Canton, Ga.
Born in Louisiana, he was the son of the late Ralph Clinton Paulette and Cloye Dee Eubanks Paulette. He worked as a facility technician for BellSouth. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Jeraldine H. Paulette of the home; stepson Mike Prince of Buford, Ga.; brother Ralph Paulette of Seattle, Wash.; and two step-grandchildren Cody and Kristin Prince.
Memorial services were held Nov. 10 from the Akins of Blue Ridge chapel with the Rev. Tim Garrett officiating. Music was by Beverly Thompson. Military honors were by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge.

Virginia Clark

Survived by family, resident of Ducktown
Virginia Marlene Clark, 62, of Ducktown, died Nov. 10, 2006.
Virginia was born in Vero Beach, Fla., and was a member of The Way Mission Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Lillie Conger Blanton and a brother Richard Blanton.
Survivors include her husband Robert Lee Clark of the home; sons and daughters-in-law Elliott and Evelyn Burney of McCaysville, John and Betty Clark of Copperhill and Robert and June Clark of Carmike, Ill.; daughter and son-in-law Alonia and Donald Slaton of Shawneetown, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Nov. 13 from the Akins of Copperhill chapel with the Rev. Wesley Davenport officiating. Music was by Robin Davenport.
iIntermentfollowed in the Epworth Baptist Church cemetery.
Pallbearers included Sam Payne, Preston Puckett, Billy Barnes, Jason Cole, Justin Davenport, Buddy Clark and Elliott Burney.

Audrey Hrometz

Member of Eastern Star, survived by family
Audrey A. Hrometz, 89, of McCaysville, died Nov. 10, 2006, in the LifeCare Center in Ducktown.
Born in Athens, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maude Thompson Barstow. Mrs. Hrometz was a member of the First Baptist Church of Epworth and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Ohio.
She is survived by her husband Brent Hrometz of McCaysville; son Brent Hrometz Jr. of White Mountain Lakes, Ariz.; daughters and sons-in-law Sonja and Earl Hickman of North Canton, Ohio, Darla and Vern Heim of McCaysville and Veda and John Herstine of Magnolia, Ohio; a brother Jimmy Barstow of Conn.; sister Ardyth Perry of Oakland, Ind.; eight grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Nov. 13, 2006, from the Akins of Blue Ridge chapel with the Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Music was by Doug Simonds. iIntermentfollowed in Crestlawn cemetery.
Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge.

Orva Ingram

Retired educator, survived by family
Orva Frances Ingram, 79, of Turtletown died, Nov. 10, 2006, in Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.
Mrs. Ingram was a native of the Copper Basin area and was retired from the Polk County Department of Education where she was employed for 36 years. She attended Croft’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Ada Clonts Taylor, her husband George Ingram III, son Billy Ingram, brother Audrey Taylor and sister Freda Adams.
Survivors include her daughter Mary Hopkins of Turtletown; three grandchildren Brandon Cole of Cleveland, Tenn., and Josh Cole and Marissa Hopkins, both of Turtletown.
Funeral services were held Nov. 11 from the Akins of Copperhill chapel with the Rev. Renny Whittenbarger officiating. Music was by the Spiritual Echoes.
iIntermentfollowed with a graveside service Nov. 12 from the Zion Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers included Brandon Shields, Jeff Collins, Terry Lewis, Charles Hickey, David Beckler and Ken Wooten.
Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill was in charge.
