Mr. Roger D. Horne age 66 of My Way Rd. Blairsville formerly of Jupiter, FL. passed away on Monday Aug.29, 2005 in the Fannin Regional Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Horne was born on Jan.31, 1939 in West Palm Beach, FL., The son of the late Kenneth M. Horne and the late Alice Corrine Horne. Mr. Horne was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Horne in 2003.He had retired from Pratt-Whitney Aerospace after thirty four years of service. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, A member of the VFW Post 7394, A member of the North Georgia Honor Guard, the Dooley Lodge #367 F&AM, A Past Commander and member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans Payne Camp of Blairsville, and a member of the Union County Historical Society. Mr. Horne was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving Mr. Horne are two sons and daughters in laws, Rick and Donna Horne of Dallas, GA., Wayne and Dana Horne of Lithonia, GA., Three brothers, Kenneth Horne Jr. of Dallas, TX., Wilson R. Horne and Neil A. Horne both of Jupiter, FL., two sisters, Ramona Stark of Hobe Sound, FL., Vera Brooker of Vero Beach, FL., five grandchildren, Russell, Kenneth, Collin, Alex and Kristin Horne, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Friday Sept.2, 2005 at 11:00 am from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy McIntyre officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be member of the North GA. Honor Guard. iIntermentwill follow in the Pine Top Baptist church cemetery with the North GA. Honor Guard conducting military honors.

Mr. Andrew Jackson (Better known as John) Aylor Jr. age 78 of Pleasant Valley Rd. Blairsville, formerly of Covington, GA., passed away on Monday August 29, 2005 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Aylor was born on oct.19, 1926 in Burley, ID., the son of the late Andrew Aylor Sr. and the late Viva Mae Decker Aylor. He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Aylor in 2005.He retired in 1982 from AT&T with over thirty six years of service. He was a veteran of the Navy-Air Force of WWII and the Korean Wars. Mr. Aylor attended the Blairsville Church of Christ.
Surviving Mr. Aylor are his loving wife of fifty six years, Janeen Bell Aylor of Blairsville, one daughter, Janice Aylor of Covington, GA., one son, William (Bill) Aylor of Blairsville, one sister, Lera Bruce of Jerome, I D., many other relatives and friends also survive.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday Sept.4, 2005 from the Blairsville Church of Christ with Minister Terry Stuart officiating. The family will meet with friends at the church on Sunday from 2-3 pm. Mrs. Catherine Boe age 99 of Young Harris formerly of Pahokee, FL., passed away on Monday March 6, 2006 in the Chatuge Regional Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Boe was born on Nov.6, 1906 in Charleston, SC., The daughter of the late Francis Buchanan and the late Pamela Webb Buchanan. She was a native of Charleston, SC., but had live in Pahokee since 1921.She was owner and operator of Boe's Electrical Appliances in Pahokee and Belle Grade for over fifty years. She graduated from Canal Point High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olaf Boe. She loved and grew orchids. Mrs. Boe was a member of the First Baptist church of Pohokee.
Surviving Mrs. Boe are one daughter and son in law, Pamela and Wayne Hundley of Young Harris, F. E. Boe of Pahokee, FL., four Grandchiildren, Christa Munson, Eric Boe both of FL., Marie Hundley of Young Harris, Scott Hundley of Gwinnett County, GA., four Great-Grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held on Saturday March 11, 2006 at 2:00pm from the Canal Point Baptist church in Canal Point, FL. With the Rev. Doug Nicholson officiating. The following gentleman served as pallbearers, Eric Boe, Scott Hundley, Sylvester Corona, Norman Cole, Michael Cole and Francisco Marfil. iIntermentfollowed in the Port Mayaca cemetery.

MAE REE ROBISON
Mrs. Mae Ree Robison age 74 of Barnard Rd. Hayesville formerly of Smyna, GA., passed away on Friday March 10, 2006 following an extended illness. Mrs. Robison was born on Feb.14, 1932 in Cherokee County, GA., The daughter of the late Charles Ralph Pinyan and the late Gladys Onie Huggins Pinyan. She had lived in Hayesville for the past thirteen years, moving from Smyrna where, before her retirement she was employed with Lockheed for over thirty five years. Mrs. Robison was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist church in Smyrna.
Surviving Mrs. Robison are two sons and daughter in laws, C. Frank and June Robison of Smyrna, Joe and Helen Robison of Valdosta, two sisters, Dorothy Fordham of Madison, Martha Foster of Hiawassee, and, five Grandchildren, six Great-Grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday March 18, 2006 at 2:00pm from the VFW Post in Hiawassee. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to your favorite charity in Mrs. Robison's memory.

Mrs. Ruby Evans age 93 of Fern Brook Blairsville passed away on Friday March 10, 2006 in the Union County Nursing home following an extended illness. Mrs. Evans was born in Brodhead, KY., The daughter of the late Jess Brown and the late Ruth Ann Procto Brown. She had retired from a Glass Factory in Indiana after many years of service. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Anne Cline in 2005 and by her husband, Francis Evans. Mrs. Evans was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving Mrs. Evans are one daughter and son in law, Janet and Jim Vorhess of Selma, IN., one sister, Neva Evans of Albany, IN., son in law, Richard Cline of Blairsville, six Grandchildren, seven Great-Grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 15, 2006 from the Parson-Rust funeral home chapel in Albany, IN., with the Rev. Ron Drown officiating. iIntermentwill follow in the Strong cemetery in Albany. The family will meet with friends on Tuesday evening at the Parson-Rust funeral home.

Mr. Sheldon Evon Patterson age 62 of Shelynda Lane Blairsville passed away on Friday Aug.25, 2006 at his home following a brief illness. Mr. Patterson was born on May 14, 1944, The son of the late Millard Patterson and the late Alean Hunt Patterson. Mr. Patterson owned and operated Today’s Hearing Aid Center of Blairsville. He was a member of the Young Cane Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Collen Patterson in 1936 and Collyn Patterson in 1940.Mr. Patterson was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist church.
Surviving Mr. Patterson are one daughter and son in law, Shelynda and Tommy Jones of Ellijay, one son Chris Patterson of Lafayette, GA., one sister and brother in law, Condice and Melvin Collins of Murfreesboro, TN., two nieces, Rayann Collins and Catrina Atkins of TN., great niece, Mallory Atkins, great nephew, Maddox Atkins, four grandchildren, Tori and Nicholas Jones, Ciara and Ansley Patterson many other relatives and friends also survive.

Mrs. Barbara Jones Wheeler age 66 of Green Ln. Blairsville passed away on Friday August 25, 2006 at her home following an extended illness. Mr. Wheeler was born on Aug.18, 1940 in Parkin, Arkansas, The daughter of the late James Thomas and the late Florence Jenkins Thomas. She was raised in Ft. Meade, FL. She retired from Cargill Industries Phosphate Mine in 1990 and moved to the mountains to be with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and, also a brother who died in Vietnam, Harlan Harris. Mrs. Wheeler was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Mrs. Wheeler are three daughters and a son, Cheryl and Keith Weaver of Blairsville, George and Connie Walker of Blairsville, Rayannette Wheeler of Blairsville, Melissa Wheeler of Blairsville, one brother, Harold Harris of Avon Park, FL., four grandchildren, Amber and Brent Laney, James Sara Weaver, all of Blairsville, Chris and David Wheeler of Michigan, great grandchildren, Nathaniel Anderson, Nicole Weaver, Dylan Weaver, Briana Allen all of Blairsville, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Mr. Colbert was born on Oct.26, 1929 in Fannin County, GA., The son of the late Dewey Colbert and the late Emer Lee Colbert. Mr. Colbert was of the Baptist faith.
Survivng Mr. Colbert are his loving wife of fifty four years, Hazel Jones Colbert, four children, C.A. and Beverly Ingram of MA., Elouise Weaver of Douglasville, Rev. Mr. Mack R. Dunkle of Emerine Rd. Blairsville passed away on Saturday August 26, 2006 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Dunkle was born on May 2, 1926 in Jersey Shore, PA., The son of the late George Warfield Dunkle and the late Faith Richards Dunkle. He was a veteran of the US Navy of WWII and had retired from the US Postal Service in 1982 as a mail carrier. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Seni Marie Eyer in 1985.Mr. Dunkle was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Surviving Mr. Dunkle are his loving wife of fifty nine years, Donna June Reitzel Dunkle, two sons and daughter in laws, Steve and Freda Dunkle of Blairsville, Terry and Mary Dunkle of Danbury, Ct., two daughters and son in laws, Cheryl and Eldon Arndt of Blairsville, Denise and Jerry Booth of Williamsport, PN., one sister and brother in law, Betty Lou and Clair Robinson, two brothers and sister in laws, Walter and Gladys Dunkle, Donald all of Jersey Shores, IN., Marilyn Dunkle of KY., eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Mrs. Jerry Frances Dyer age 67 of Haralson Drive Blairsville passed away on Wednesday April 4, 2007 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Dyer was born on May 7, 1939 in Fulton County, GA., the daughter of the late Louis Parker and the late Lelia DeLong Parker. She had worked as a Care Giver in the county for several years. She was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Freeman. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Dyer was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Weldon White, brothers, Hoyt, Columbus, Wilson and Wilburn Conner, step brothers, Clyde and Claude Patterson, and one sister, Rannie White. She was a lifelong resident of Union County. Mrs. White was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church.
