Mrs. Lorraine Gail Sudduth age 45 of Howell Ln. Young Harris passed away on Saturday Dec.23, 2006 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Sudduth was born on Aug.22, 1961 in Forsyth County, GA., The daughter of the late Annie Frix Hamby. At the time of her death she was employed as a Second Grade Teacher with the Towns County School System. Mrs. Sudduth was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving Mrs. Sudduth are her loving husband of seven years, Chris Sudduth of Young Harris two step children, Jessica Rose Sudduth of Franklin County, GA., Christopher Adam Sudduth of TX., father and mother in law, Dewey and Irene Sudduth of Winder, brothers and sisters in laws, Curt and Scottie Sudduth of Rex, GA., Trey and Karen Brown of Bethlehem, GA., Mark and Jennifer Sudduth of Statham, GA., Chris and Maria Blackmoore of Statham, Carl Reeves of Jefferson, GA., many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Dec.26, 2006 at 11:00am from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Chris Scoggins officiating. iIntermentand graveside services will follow at 2:30pm from the Sawnee View Gardens cemetery in Cumming, GA. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10-11:00am.

Mr. Vernon Hugh ( Better known as Hugo ) Lance age 85 of Loving Rd. Morganton passed away on Saturday Dec.23, 2006 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Lance was born on July 7, 1921 in Union County, the son of the late Thomas M. Lance and the late Mary Louise Byers Lance. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Core of WWII. He was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty nine years, June Eileen Lance who also passed away this year, and by a sister, Mae Lance Martin. Mr. Lance was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist church.
Surviving Mr. Lance are one son and daughter in law, Anthony and Judy Lance of Morganton, two sisters, Opal Lance Anderson Poteet of Marietta, Maude DeWeese of Mineral Bluff, GA., brother in law, J. O. Martin of Conyers, six grandchildren, Kyle Thomas Lance, Sherry Sosebee, Jeffery Holden, Lisa Nicholson, Matthew and Adam Dockery, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Dec.27, 2006 at 2:00pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Hubert Legg officiating. Mrs. Marilyn Alice Bumpus age 83 of Hamilton Rd. Blairsville passed away on Saturday Dec.23, 2006 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Bumpus was born on Nov.4, 1923 in Brockton, MA., The daughter of the late Warren Nelson Messer and the late Rose Drouin. She was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Wooley. She was a veteran of the US Navy of WWII.
Surviving Mrs. Bumpus are her loving husband, George Bumpus Sr. of Blairsville, one son and daughter in law, George Jr. and Yvonne Bumpus of Blairsville, one daughter and son in law, Karen and Paul Truono of Bonita Springs, FL., eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A private memorial service is being planned. In lieu of flowers if you wish, The family requests that memorials may be made to your favorite charity in Mrs. Bumpus’s memory.

ANN M. WHITE
Mrs. Ann White age 91 of Summit Trace Blairsville passed away on Saturday Dec.30, 2006 following an extended illness. Mrs. White was born on Feb.20, 1915 in Gilmer County, GA., The daughter of the late Garrett Z. Roberts and the late Stella Maude Withrow Roberts. Before her retirement she was employed with the Cluett Peabody-Arrow Shirt Company for over twenty five years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford Q.White and by two brothers, John and Claude Roberts. Mrs. White was a member of the House of Prayer Church.
Surviving Mrs. White are one daughter and son in law, Sandra and Charles Allen of Blairsville, two sister in laws, Harriett Roberts of Roswell, GA., Minelle Roberts of Stockbridge, GA., two grandchildren, Deborah and Tommy Kitchin, Charles L. and Nancy Allen, four great-grandchildren, Laura C.Kitchin, Daniel T. Kitchin, John W. Allen and S.Lee Allen, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held on Monday Jan.1, 2007 at 2:00pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Helton and Rev. Bill Honaker officiating. Special music was presented by Nelson LeCroy, Miny Combs and Eric Tippens. The following gentleman served as pallbearers, Jeff Rogers, Henry McPherson, Joe Walker, Mike Robinson, Woody Woodmansee and Robert Gilliland. iIntermentfollowed in the House of Prayer Church Cemetery. The family requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the House of Prayer Building Fund in Mrs. White’s memory.

THELMA CECELIA MARKUSON
Mrs. Thelma Cecelia Markuson age 97 of Stonehenge Drive. Blairsville passed away on Thursday July 28, 2005 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Markuson was born on Feb.18, 1908 in Fairbury, NE., The daughter of the late Chris Hickey and the late Fern Thompson Hickey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Markuson in 2000 and by a daughter Mavis Kamper. Mrs. Markuson was a member of the Unity Church in Vero Beach, FL.
Surviving Mrs. Markuson are six grandchildren, Six Great Grandchildren and Six Great-Great Grandchildren, The Michael Cushman family of Blairsville, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held from the Boynton Memorial Chapel in Boynton Beach, FL. with entombment will follow in the Boca Raton Memorial cemetery in Boca Raton, Fl.

CHARLES KENNETH SHUCK
Mr. Charles Kenneth Shuck age 57 of Madison Ave. Blairsville, formerly of Rollinsville, NH., passed away on Thursday Aug.4, 2005 in the Greenville Medical Center following Injuries sustained in an accident. Mr. Shuck was born on Oct.8, 1947 in St. Pete, FL., The son of Mildred Huff Shuck and the late Kenneth Shuck. At the time of his death he was employed by CSM Heating and Air. He was a member of the Butternut Creek Golf Club in Blairsville. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Ann Shuck in 1968.Mr. Shuck was a member of the Coosa United Methodist Church.
Surviving Mr. Shuck are his loving wife of thirty seven years, Pauline Drury Shuck of Blairsville, Two daughters and son in laws, Colleen and Michael Boisvert of Pembroke, NH., Wendy and Peter Bernard of Smyrna, DE., three brothers and one sister in law, George Shuck of Colorado, Ronald and Sally Shuck of Blairsville, Robert Shuck of Altonna, FL., four grandchildren, Michael Jr., Tyler, Samantha and Alexander, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday Aug.9, 2005 at 1:00 pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Katie Strals Officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Mountain Shelter of Union County in Mr. Shuck’s memory.

Mr. William Michael Lee age 64 of Holly Cove Circle Blairsville, formerly of Spring Hill, FL., passed away on Friday Aug.5, 2005 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Lee was born on Oct.4, 1940 in Staton Island, NY., the son of the late Christopher Lee. He retired in 1991 as a Police Officer with the Suffolk County Police Department as a First Grade Detective with over thirty three years of service. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Lee was of the Christian Faith.
Surviving Mr. Lee are his loving wife of thirty nine years, Joan Dzikowski Lee of Blairsville, one daughter and son in law, Mary Beth and William Mosko of Cornelius, NC., Many other relatives and friends also survive.
Memorial services were held on Sunday Aug.7, 2005 at 7:00 pm from the Arrowhead Valley Resort. Visitation was held following the services.

Mrs. Betty Jean Garner age 72 of wolf Pen Gap Rd. Suches passed away on SaturdayAug.9, 2005 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Garner was born on May 28, 1933 in Macon, GA., the daughter of the late Frank Jones Becham and the late Viola Wade Becham. She had retired from teaching. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Frances Becham, Caroline Pender, Sarah Veal, Gladys Ward and Frank Becham. Mrs. Garner was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Garner are her loving husband of fifty two years, Robert Garner of Suches, Three children, Sharon Garner, Sandra (Marcial) Jimenez and Robbie Garner, One sister, Louise Griffin, one brother, Paul Becham, Four grandchildren, Luci, Simon, Alia and Bobby Pereira, Many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Aug.10, 2005 at 11:00 am from the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Suches with the Rev. Clarence Drummond officiating. The body will lie in state from 10-11 at the church. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Paul Becham, Simon Pereira, Robert Pereira, Larry Garner, Rusty Ward and Morris Gibson. iIntermentwill follow in the Hill Church cemetery. Mrs. Genevieve Dimartino age 99 of Wild Hog Creek Terrace Suches, GA., formerly of Miami passed away on Friday February 10, 2006 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Dimartino was born on Oct.25, 1906 in Italy, The daughter of the late Nichola Dimartino and the late Maria Graneri Dimartino. She was preceded in death by two sistersLucy and Tessie Dimartino, also by four brothers, Joseph, Ralph, Louie and Jimmy Dimartino. Mrs. Dimartino was a member of Pine Top Baptist church.
Surviving Mrs. Dimartino are Nephews, Nick and Paula Dimartino of Blairsville, Stephen and Diane Dimartino of PA., David Dimartino of NJ., Joseph Dimartino of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., one Niece, Evelyn Vallario of NJ., several Great nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Monday February 13, 2006 at 1:00pm from the Pine Top Baptist church with Rev. Jimmy Tanner officiating. Mr. Herbert Hoover Arnold age 76 of Pat Colwell Rd.Blairsville formerly of Lawrenceville, GA. passed away on Saturday Feb.11, 2006 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mr. Arnold was born on Feb.25, 1929 in Gwinnett County, The son of the late Will Arnold and the late Eula Griswell Arnold. He had retired from General Motors with over thirty years of service. He was an active member of the Union County Lions club, A member of the American Legion Post #16 of Cleveland, GA., A member of the VFW of Hiawassee and a member of the Lake Improvement Assc. Herbert was an expert fisherman and hunter. He was an avid gardener. Herbert was a loving and devoted husband and father. Mr. Arnold was a member of the House of Prayer church.
Surviving Mr. Arnold are his loving wife of fifty five years, Mary Blair Arnold of Blairsville, son, Michael Arnold of Lula, Two Brothers and sister in laws, Edwin & Edna Arnold of Jefferson, Harry & Edna Arnold of Lawrenceville, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Monday Feb.13, 2006 at 11:00am from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Helton, Carl Buser, Ken Castle and Gilmer Vandiver officiating. Special music will be presented by Cheri Parker. Graveside services and interment will follow at 4:00pm from the E. ShadowLawn cemetery in Lawrenceville with Rev. Charles Dispain officiating. Mrs. Antoinette Rusk age 63 of Pat Colwell Rd. Blairsville passed away on Saturday Feb.11, 2006 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Rusk was born on March 15, 1942 in Cleveland, OH., The daughter of the late Glenn Brookins and the late Alma Gurnack Brookins. Mrs. Rusk, along with her husband, Jack have been living in Blairsville for the past twenty five years, moving here from Florida. Mrs.Rusk attended the House of Prayer Church.
Surviving Mrs. Rusk are her loving husband, Jack Rusk of Blairsville, three sons and two daughter in laws, Floyd and Martha Rusk of Buford, GA., Robert and Debbie Rusk of Blairsville, Steven Rusk of Blairsville, one daughter, Dorothy Rusk of Blairsville, three brothers and one sister in law, Bubsey and Carol Brookins of Miami, FL., Michael Brookins of Florida, Robert Brookins of FL., ten Grandchildren, two Great-Grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Mr. Carl Winford Queen age 71 of Jimmy Nicholson Rd. Blairsville passed away on Sunday Feb.12, 2006 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Queen was born on Sept.1, 1934 in Union County, The son of the late Tom Bell Queen and the late Nora Elizabeth Reece Queen. He retired from Lockheed in Marietta with over thirty eight years of service. He was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM in Marietta. Carl loved to play music and played the Base Fiddle. He was inducted in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Mr. Queen was a member of Shady Grove Methodist church.
Surviving Mr. Queen are his loving wife of forty nine years, Shirley Entrekin Queen of Blairsville, one daughter and son in law, Katrice and Tim Brewster of Woodstock, three sons and two daughter in laws, Gregory and Linda Queen of Marietta, Gerald Queen of Dallas, GA., Steve and Teresa Queen of Blairsville, one sister, Fran Kirkland of Blairsville, two brothers and sister in laws, B. J. and Carmella Queen of Blairsville, Durwood and Katherine Queen of Woodstock, Six Grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
