Charles Melvin (Chuck) Hewell, Jr.,75, of Monroe died November 3, 2006. A native and life long resident of Walton County, he was a son of the late C. M. Hewell, Sr. and Lucy Cosby Hewell. He was owner of C. M. Hewell Plumbing for 28 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the First united Methodist Church, a member of Generous Warren Lodge # 20 F. & A.M. and served in the U. S. National Guard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Warren Preston Barton. Surviving are: daughter: Wanda Barton Jenkins, Thomson; sons and daugter-in-law: Glenn and Delores Barton, Monroe, Georgia and Phillip Greer, Monroe; grandchildren: Brett Barton, Madison, Barry Greer, Monroe, Preston Jenkins, Thomson and Carl Jenkins, Thomson; great-grandchildren: Bailey Greer, Monroe.

John Hubert “Hugh” Crim, 68 of Monroe died, Nov. 3, 2006. He was born in Bessemer, AL to the late Samuel Dewitt and the late Bertie Viola Horton Crim. He was of Christian faith and retired as Vice President of A.L. Williams Information Network Systems, was a life member of NRA and graduated from Auburn University with a BA in Accounting in 1960.

Lonnie Rogers, Moon, Sr., age 54 passed away on Nov. 1, 2006. He was born on Sept. 17, 1952 in Walton County to the late R.V. Moon and the late Pearline Greene Moon. “Roger” was a Plumber most of his life, most recently spent alot of time with his brother “Eddie” and working for his electrical business. Roger never met a stranger, he was an outgoing person he loved his children and grandchildren very much and will be missed by all.

Harold Russell Harless
Harold Russell Harless, 82 of Loganville passed away on Tuesday, Dec.19, 2006. Born and raised in Narrows, VA, he served in the Pacific during World War II. He was a skilled pipe fitter/welder by trade and worked on many projects in the Washington D.C. area. He resided for many years in Howard County, MD and retired to Loganville in 1986. He loved and took great pleasure in his pets, was an avid reader and loved to “tinker” in his shop. His final journey (cancer) was a life-lesson in courage, dignity and love. He will be greatly missed. Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Lois; son: Michael (Tricia); grandsons: Michael Jr. and Jason; great-grandchild: Ashley; sister: Eloise Ratcliff; a host of nieces, nephews and their families, wonderful friends, neighbors, and “Best Pal” Bill.

Leland “Lee” Allen Russ, of Monroe, died on Dec. 19, 2006. He was born in Du Page County, IL on Jan. 17, 1938 to the late Leo Sylvester Russ and the late Elizabeth Koch Russ. He was the last of eight children. Surviving are: wife: Shirley Russ, Monroe; daughter and son-in-law: Jennifer and Michael Manning, Loganville; grandchildren: Haley, Annalee, Calin and Justin, all of Loganville.

Norman Robert Breheim, a resident of Summers Landing Assisted Living of Monroe, passed away suddenly Dec. 12, 2006. Mr. Breheim was preceded in death by his wife Viola G. Breheim. He served in the US Army as 2nd Lt. Infantry during WWII. He is survived by two sons: Robert Norman Breheim and David Joel Breheim; daughter: Barbara Ann Blackwell and Laura Jean Breheim and Loyal Boston Terrier: Katie Lady. Services will be held Dec. 28 at noon through Beyer Funeral Home, 1123 West Main St., Leesburgh, FL 34748. Call 352-787-4343. Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 3 p.m. at the chapel of meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Nathan Durham and the Rev. Cathy Blount officiating.

ur beautiful son, Robbie Baldoni, went to be with our Lord on Monday December 11, 2006 at the age of 12. Robbie was a wonderful child who was intelligent beyond his years and shone with endless happiness and laughter. He loved and lived life to its fullest. He was a protector and leader to his brother Alex, sister Chloe, and cousins Walker and Payton. Everyday of his life, our hearts grew with limitless love and pride for our son. He planned to be a millionaire professional skateboarder and live in San Diego while he drove his Lamborghini. Robbie loved riding his skateboard with his friends, endlessly bouncing his basketball, video games, chili dogs, spicy food, alternative rock, his dog Bullet, dreams of forming his own band, doing the “ Robot,” gymnastics, 4-H Club, political debates, books, his motorcycle, and most of all talking and talking and talking.

He was Owner Operator of Dekalb Steel until 1996, Mr. Stribling was a school bus monitor for Walton County School for 2 years and for the last 2 years was a Wal-Mart Associate in Monroe. He was an avid sports fan and very active with Loganville Youth Football (GFL). Mr. Stribling is survived by Companion: Robin Stribling; Children: Jason C. & Michelle Stribling, Robert E. Stribling, Aundrea D. & Chris Lea, all of Loganville; Brothers: Robert E. Stribling, Fort Collins, CO; David O. Stribling of Bradenton, FL.; Sister: Kayla Jones of Windsor, CO. The daughter of the late George and Violet Garrett Hasting, she was a homemaker, mother and grandmother who enjoyed astronomy, yard sales, gardening, art, poetry and music. She was a 1993 graduate of San Antonio College, earning an Associates Degree in Paralegal studies. Mrs. Peters also enjoyed sightseeing and caring for pets. Preceding her in death were her brother and sister-in-law, Dennis L. and Ginny Hasting.

She had attended Berry College and Draughon Business School and was married to William C. Sloan until his death. A retired employee of the Walton E. M. C. , she was a member of the Monroe First Baptist Church.

Jack Vaultee Miller
Jack Vaultee Miller, 81, of Monroe died November 30, 2006. Born in Hanson, KY, he attended the University of Tennessee and later served in the U.S. Navy. He was retired having worked as a construction superintendent for U.S. Steel Corp. and was instrumental in the erection of the Houston Astrodome, the New Orleans Superdome, the Omni International, the Woodruff Arts Center and the Wachovia Bank. Atlanta. At the demolition of the Omni International, he was honored by the Mayor of Atlanta for his contributions to the Atlanta skyline. He was a member of the Chattanooga Polo Assn. and was a Formula Ford Grand Prix driver. He won numerous First Place Grand National Racing Awards including the Road Atlanta Fall National. He was a former member of the Monroe Golf and Country Club, a member of the holy Cross Anglican Church, Loganville, a recent candidate for the Monroe City Council and after retirement, continued as a consultant to the Coca Cola Co.
