Carlton Lavelle Carter
Services for Carlton Lavelle Carter of McRae were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 4 at Southside Baptist Church in McRae with interment in the Telfair Memorial Gardens in McRae. Carter, 70, died Saturday, April 1, 2006. A native of Appling County, he was the son of the late James Tillman and Eloise Collins Carter and was married to Betty Carol Carter.
He lived most of his life in Telfair County where he owned and operated Quality Cleaners and was a member and Past Master of Masonic Lodge #536 of Helena. He was a member and deacon of Southside Baptist Church and had proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his son, Ricky (Liz) Carter of McRae; brothers and sisters, James W. (Janie) Carter of Baxley, Wilda Beecher and Juema (Sam) Cowan, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Linda Pauloo of South Pasadena, Calf., Terry (Dianne) Carter of Blackshear, Errol (Diane) Carter of Baxley, Don (Darlene) Carter of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lamar (Nelly) Carter of Lutz, Fla.; two grandchildren, Bryan Roberson and Brandon Roberson, both of McRae also survive.

Deacon Theo Fullwood
Services for Deacon Theo Fullwood of Dublin were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 1 at Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Dexter with interment in the church cemetery.
The Rev. John Ford officiated.
Fullwood, 91, died Sunday, March 26, 2006 at Shamrock Nursing and Rehab. Center of Dublin. He was the son of the late Benjamin Fullwood and the late Lula Drinks Fullwood and was married to Katie Fullwood. A stepson preceded him in death.
Born in Dodge County, he was a long-time resident of Laurens County. He was employed by the Dodge County School System as a bus driver for many years and later by the Dublin City Schools as a bus driver. He was a retired carpenter and also worked with the Dudley Enterprise and Dudley Funeral Home for many years. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He joined Rocky Creek Baptist Church at an early age and over the years served as Chairman of the Deacon Board, and in many other church auxiliaries.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Parnell (Marjorie) Fullwood of Chester, Moses (Margie) Fullwood of Miami, Fla., Gwendolyn (Samuel) White of Macon, Earnestine (Bobby) Jackson, Florence (Clarence) Strong, Joyce (Walter) Womble of Miami, Fla., Pauline (Lawson) Waters of Dublin, and Elder Milton (Belinda) Mitchell, also of Dublin; 19 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, brother, William (Willie Mae) Fullwood of Mt. Laurel, N.J., and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Gladys Virginia Watkins Harper
Memorial services for Gladys Virginia Watkins Harper of Helena were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 2 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.
Harper, 76, died Monday, March 27, 2006. She was the daughter of the late Ben H. and Annie Spradley Harper and was married to Cornelius Harper.
A native of Wagener, S.C., she lived most of her life in Telfair County and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her sisters, Geneva Farrow of Swainsboro and Frances Hughes of California.

Al Jacobs
Services for Al Jacobs of Ailey were held at 11 a.m. Saturday April 1 at the Mt. Vernon First Baptist Church with interment in the Oakland Cemetery in Helena.
The Rev. John Elmore Jr. officiated.
Jacobs, 75, died Thursday, March 30, 2006 at his residence after an extended illness. He was married to Lucy Jacobs.
He was a native of Poplarville, Miss. and had resided in Ailey for the past 35 years. He was a retired forester, a Mason and a member of the Mt. Vernon First Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his son, Dan Jacobs of Ailey; one daughter, Len Cumbie of Athens; two sisters, Becky Williams of Poplarville, Miss., Donna Landrum of Cleveland, Miss. and three grandchildren.

McNeal, 42, died Thursday, March 30, 2006. She was married to Ottis McNeal Jr.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her stepsons, Michael Shawn (Pam) McNeal of Virginia, and Jeffrey Ferrell (Julie) McNeal of Vidalia; sisters, Diane Grayson and Debbie Collins, both of Macon; brother, George Franklin Gibbs of Ft. Valley; granddaughter, Gracie Jane McNeal; eight nieces, 12 nephews; two great-nieces and three great-nephews.

Services for Jackie E. Robinson of Lumber City were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 1 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church with interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Robinson, 57, died Monday, March 27, 2006 at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He was the son of Vollie Blanks Garrett and the late Rev. Luther A. Robinson and was married to Sylvia Robinson.
Born in Telfair County, he attended Telfair County schools and was employed at what is now known at Propex Fabric in Hazlehurst for over 30 years.
In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include three sons, Jackie Robinson Jr., Jeremy Robinson and Jamie Robinson; two daughters, Sabrina (Jasper) Jones and KaTrina Robinson, all of Lumber City; four brothers, Douglas Robinson, Darryl Robinson, Winfred Robinson and Anthony Robinson; five sisters, Tommie Lee Fisher, Doris Jordan, Minister Betty Maloy, Vollie Smith and Sandra Walker; brothers-in-law, Bishop William Hollis, L.C. Allen, Fred Maloy and Charles Smith; sisters-in-law, Minister Estella Hollis, Celestine Robinson, Catherine Robinson, and Brenda Allen; 13 grandchildren, a very special niece, Lulu, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers.

Thomas Christopher West
Services for Thomas Christopher West of Bainbridge were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel in Bainbridge with interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Cairo.

West, 19, died Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Blountsville, Fla. He was the son of Timothy Leroy and Sharon West of Bainbridge and Sherri Brue West of Hazlehurst.
West was born in Cairo and was a 2003 graduate of Bainbridge High School. He was a student at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his brother, Ira Creamer of Hazlehurst; sister, Alexis West of Bainbridge; step-brother, Shane Bailey and step-sister, Brittni Bailey, both of Bainbridge; paternal grandparents, Leroy and Julia West of Bainbridge and maternal grandmother, Mildred Brue of Hazlehurst.
Active pallbearers were: Jack Curles, Chuck McManus, Hardy Dollar, Harold Vickers, Brad Staples and Willie Bunch.
