He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Elise Wilkins Cotter, Braselton, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Christina Elizabeth Carroll and husband, Jon, Sugar Hill, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas Wayne Cotter, Jr. and wife, Alice, Cumming, GA and Grady Bernard Cotter and wife, Dawn, Dawsonville, GA; grandchildren, Christina Elise Carroll, Robert Grady Carroll, Douglas Wayne Cotter, III, Robert Chandler McMahan Cotter, Sarah Elizabeth Carroll, Bailey Denise Cotter and Abigail Ruth Cotter. Mr. Cotter was a veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from Motorola, Inc. after thirty-five years of service. He coached Little League Baseball and Basketball for eleven years. He was a member of Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church in Dacula, GA. His children and grandchildren were very special to him. His family was his life. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Pastor David Davis officiating. iIntermentwill follow at 4:00 p.m. C.S.T. at Randolph Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, AL. Mrs. Kimberley Sharrett Sapp, age 45, of Buford, GA passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2011. She was preceded in death by her father, John Harrigan Sharrett. She is survived by her husband of ten years, Glenn R. Sapp, Buford, GA; mother, Doris Clark Sharrett, Buford, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Katherine Smith, Nashville, TN, Klarice and Robert Carlisle, Buford, GA and Krystal Bowman, Kingsport, TN; uncle, Owen Clark, Lancaster, OH; aunt, Betty Chole Bolling, Wise, VA; step children, Joann Sapp, Danville, OH, Jill Sapp, Buford, GA, Robin Sapp, Arkansas and Jason Sapp, Dacula, GA; niece, Ashley Carlisle; and nephew, Johanton Carlisle. Mrs. Sapp was born December 9, 1965 in Norton, VA. She was a 1984 graduate of Appalachia High School in Appalachia, VA. She was a material handler for Schering Plough in Suwanee, GA and was a former employee of N.C.R. in Duluth, GA. She was a member of Appalachia United Methodist Church in Appalachia, VA. Graveside service will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Sims, Royston, GA, Sheila and Dr. Bill Williams, Suwanee, GA, Sandra and Joe Morphew, Snellville, GA and Angela and Steve Cain, Grayson, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Claire Harrison, Royston, GA and Rickey and Mary Harrison, Loganville, GA; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Gonzales, Conyers, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Harrison was born March 16, 1929 in Mississippi. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Sugar Hill United Methodist Church in Sugar Hill, GA. Ella L. Adams, age 100, of Buford, GA passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Delia Adams; brothers, Claude Adams, Floyd Adams and Lloyd Adams; sisters, Mary Ann Adams, Mae A. Clure, Lilly Green and Maude McElreath. She is survived by her nieces and nehews, Harold and Delores Clure, Oakwood, GA, Tommy and Maggie Clure, Plains, GA, Robert Douglas Clure, Buford, GA, Barbara Louella Satterfield, Buford, GA and Harold and Jalaine Dollar, Maysville, GA. Ms. Adams was born April 25, 1910 and was a native of Gwinnett County, GA. She was retired from Georgia Boot with over thirty years of service. She celebrated her 100th birthday with a host of family and friends. Ms. Adams requested no funeral.

Mrs. Sallie Thomas Cole, age 86, of Buford, GA passed away on Monday, March 14, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Annie Thomas; brothers, Robert Thomas, Albert Thomas and Roy Thomas; and sister, Maggie Browning. Mrs. Cole was born May 5, 1924 in Buford, GA. She worked for Georgia Boot Company and Puckett’s Restaurant for several years. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Buford, GA. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Martha Wood Booker and husband, Jack Booker, Buford, GA; son, David Braxton Floyd and Becky Beard Weeks, Buford, GA; grandchildren, David and Angela Floyd, Alpharetta, GA, Melinda Floyd Patrick and husband, Tim Patrick, Braselton, GA, Bobby Wood, Jr., Buford, GA and Tonya Wood Bothe and husband, Derek Bothe, Sugar Hill, GA; three great-grandchildren, Tristan Bothe, Brendan Bothe and Madison Patrick; sister and brother-in-law, Ernestine and Winston Stevens, Myrtle Beach, SC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Hilda Butler, Longs, SC and Junior and Dot Butler, Leland, NC; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Floyd was born October 17, 1918 in Loris, SC. She was a homemaker. She was a long-time member of Camp Swamp United Methodist Church in Longs, SC. Mr. W. A. Buice, age 62, of Cumming, GA and formerly of Buford, GA passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Artis and Louise Buice; sister, Frances Buice Gilstrap; and brother, Jackie Buice. He is survived by his sister, Evelyn Buice Smallwood, Suwanee, GA; son, Donald Buice, Torrington, CT; daughters, Virginia Cianicolo, Torrington, CT and Allison Lorner, Maysville, GA; six grandchildren; aunts, Virginia Jean Staton, Suwanee, GA and Betty Pugh Buice, Buford, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Angie Luna, Cumming, GA, Michael Powell, Cumming, GA and Melanie Dennis, Cumming, GA. Mr. Buice was born May 9, 1948 in Buford, GA. He was a 1966 graduate of Buford High School. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He had worked for the Forsyth County News and the Atlanta Journal newspapers for a number of years. He was of the Baptist Faith. His request was to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Buford American Legion Post 127 in memory of W. A. Buice.

Mr. Joe “J. E.” Abernathy, age 59, of Buford, GA passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011. He is survived by his sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Holcomb, Buford, GA, Penny Henry, Buford, GA and Peggy and Ronnie Denson, Sugar Hill, GA; aunt, Lizzie Henry, Flowery Branch, GA; and uncle, Ernest Adams, Gainesville, GA. Mr. Abernathy was born on April 8, 1951 in Gainesville, GA. He was a former employee of Bona Allen Company. He was of the Baptist Faith. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Wahoo Baptist Church cemetery in Dahlonega, GA. William (Paul) Battle, 62 of Buford, GA passed away Monday, March 7, 2011. He was born July 10, 1948 in Tampa, Fl. Paul was a devoted Christian, loving husband, father, grandfather and an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a talented musician, craftsman, sailor and historian. He will be lovingly remembered for his kind, loving nature and his wonderful sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by all. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 41 years, Patti Battle; two sons, Erik and wife PJ Battle of Buford, GA, Eddie Battle of Snellville, GA; parents, Jack and Jerry Battle of Tampa, FL; brothers, Rick Battle of Odessa, FL, Mike and wife Karen Battle of Tampa, FL, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Buford Presbyterian Church with Ministers Corey Ingold and Rix Threadgill officiating. Burial will follow at Sawnee View Gardens, Cumming, GA. Visitation is Saturday from noon to 1:30 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Wilma Ramey; brother, Chuck Ramey; and sister, Joy Culliton.
