Mr. John Henry Maddox, age 75, of Commerce, GA and formerly of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lula Bell Maddox; sisters, Louise McDaniel and Reba Maddox; and brothers, E. A. Maddox, Chester, Maddox, J. E. Maddox, Carl Maddox, Gene Maddox and Anderson Maddox. Mr. Maddox was born November 9, 1935 in Buford, GA. He was retired from General Motors, Lakewood Plant, after twenty-one years of service. He was a former volunteer fireman with Buford Fire Department. He was a racecar driver No. 29 for twenty-one years. He was owner of Maddox Monument Company. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Buford, GA. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Mr.. Mr. Winfred O. Pass Sr., age 74, of Gainesville, GA passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Voytell Pass. Ronald F. (Ron) Pavlovich, of Sugar Hill, GA, beloved husband of Catherine (Cathy), passed away suddenly April 7, 2011. He was 56. Ron and Cathy had spent most of their adult lives together and recently celebrated their 33rd anniversary. Ron was employed by Best Buy as a member of the Geek Squad, where he was able to do work he truly enjoyed – tinkering with technology. He was born August 29, 1954 in New Port, RI. He was a 1972 graduate of West Florence High School in Florence, SC. He enjoyed photography and computers and spending time with family and pets. Ron was predeceased by his daughter, Amy, his mother, Anne, and his sister, Deborah. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his father, Joseph Pavlovich, his brother, Michael (Debbie) Pavlovich, father-in-law, John Bender, sister-in-law, Debra Maclean, brother-in-law, Greg (Mary) Bender, and loving nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home. ANN "GILLY" GILMORE passed away 7/7/11 from late stage breast cancer. She played E-flat clarinet in the Morristown High School band and had many fond memories of Morristown and high school reunions. Anyone who knew Little Gilly will certainly never forgot her. Her father, E.G. Gilmore (Big Gilly) was a well-known horse trainer and her mother was a master tailor. Gilly was a voice major at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, then studied acting at The American Academy of Dramatic Art in New York and became an Equity Actress and working professional for two years. Her next career was in radio in Charlotte, NC. where she had a daily talk show. She became Promotion Director for the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, the first woman to ever hold that job. Atlanta was the first city in the South doing live TV work and Gilly was a pioneer in local TV production at WAGA-TV. “It was new, and exciting and we invented our way as we went, ” she said. She later raised a family, barnyard animals and a huge organic garden in Norcross, GA. She had a radio show, became a travel agent for several years, and then a substitute teacher. She lived in Georgia for 55 years. She loved to travel, play golf and tennis. Her last claim to fame was as the grandmother of Scott Szymanski, age 24, and 11-year-old triplets, Jill, Ross and Jake Bieniek. She is survived by twin daughters, Randy Brannon Bieniek of Duluth, GA, Pam Brannon Simmons of Nashville, TN, and son, Barry Gilmore Brannon of St. Cloud, FL.
