Maddox, Carl Maddox, Gene Maddox and Anderson Maddox. He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Barbara Hutchins Maddox, Commerce, GA; daughter, Kristen and fiancé, Jason Tindell, Flowery Branch, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Charles Tracy and Fran Maddox, Sugar Hill, GA; grandchildren, Kenneth Maddox, Miranda Maddox and Kaci Mabrey; one great-grandchild, Bradley Lucas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Flossie Cofer, Louena and Billy Titshaw, Marjorie and Johnny Sudderth, all of Buford, GA, and Barbara and Doug Stephens, Gainesville, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ezra Maddox, Emory and Delores Maddox and Thurman and Brenda Maddox, all of Buford, GA; and several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Maddox was born November 9, 1935 in Buford, GA. He was retired from General Motors, Lakewood Plant, after twenty-one years of service. He was a former volunteer fireman with Buford Fire Department. He was a racecar driver No. 29 for twenty-one years. He was owner of Maddox Monument Company. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Buford, GA. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Mr.. Hinton Porter officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 2674 East Maddox Road, Buford, GA 30519 in memory of John Henry Maddox.

Mr. Winfred O. Pass Sr., age 74, of Gainesville, GA passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Voytell Pass. He is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Janice Nix Pass, Gainesville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Melinda Pass Chatham and husband, Gene, Dacula, GA, Sherry Denise Pass Baker and husband, David, Monroe, GA and step daughter, Tracy Sweatman, Waleska, GA; sons, Winfred Dave Pass, Dawsonville, GA, Ricky Dwayne Pass, Buford, GA and Winfred Pass Jr., Dawsonville, GA; step sons, James Stacy and Christy Sweatman, Buford, GA and Stephen Morris and Amanda Sweatman, Dawsonville, GA; twenty-two grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Eugene Masters, Buford, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and he was loved very much by his in-laws and family. Mr. Pass was born October 14, 1936 in Buford, GA. He was a 1953 graduate of Sugar Hill High School in Sugar Hill, GA. He was retired from General Motors as a General Foreman after thirty-two years of service. He was a former Police Chief of Suwanee, GA. He was owner of Jans Hauling Co. and Paint and Body Shop at his home. He attended Roanoke Baptist Church in Cumming, GA. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Roanoke Baptist Church in Cumming, GA with Rev. Ronnie Brown and Rev. Ruel Martin officiating. iIntermentwill follow at the Roanoke Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Mr. Howard Samuel Harper, age 76, of Buford, GA passed away on Monday, April 11, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Harper; mother, Willie Mae Cleghorn; brothers, Charles Harper Sr. and Kenneth Harper; and sister, Laverne Chadwick. He is survived by his nieces, Nancy and Amos Clark Jr., Hoschton, GA, Linda Stewart, Lawrenceville, GA and Joy and Russell Starrett, Lavonia, GA; nephew, Charles William Harper, Jr. and wife, Barbara, Buford, GA; niece, Ann and Hugh Hamil, Gainesville, GA; several great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Mr. Harper was born July 27, 1934 and was a native of Gwinnett County, GA. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Buford, GA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Mr. Joe Curtis McCollum Sr., age 78, of Buford, GA passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Hallford McCollum, Habersham County, GA; daughter, Terri Robin Britt; grandson, Dustin Anthony Britt; and son-in-law, Charles William Sebak. He is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Judy Jones McCollum, Buford, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Nancy Cherie McCollum, Houma, LA and Sandra Kay and Dan Bean, Bottineau, ND; sons and daughter-in-law, Rodney Keith and Ruth McCollum, Milton, FL and Joe Curtis McCollum Jr., Loganville, GA; step son, Steven Michael and Dana Jones, Buford, GA; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Gresham and Margie McCollum, Clarkesville, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins; son-in-law, Carl Britt, Woodland, AL; and Loyal Maltese Companion Pet, “Nikki”. Mr. McCollum was born July 27, 1932 in Clarkesville, GA. He was a 1949 graduate of Clarkesville High School in Clarkesville, GA and he attended Atlanta Business College. He retired as a terminal manager from Johnson Motor Lines in Atlanta, GA in 1988. He was a member of Woodland Baptist Church in Decatur, GA. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Dick Baker officiating. Graveside service and interment will be at 1:30 p.m. at Cool Springs United Methodist Church in Clarkesville, GA with Pastor Daniel Bean officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Ronald F. (Ron) Pavlovich, of Sugar Hill, GA, beloved husband of Catherine (Cathy), passed away suddenly April 7, 2011. He was 56. Ron and Cathy had spent most of their adult lives together and recently celebrated their 33rd anniversary. Ron was employed by Best Buy as a member of the Geek Squad, where he was able to do work he truly enjoyed – tinkering with technology. He was born August 29, 1954 in New Port, RI. He was a 1972 graduate of West Florence High School in Florence, SC. He enjoyed photography and computers and spending time with family and pets. Ron was predeceased by his daughter, Amy, his mother, Anne, and his sister, Deborah. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his father, Joseph Pavlovich, his brother, Michael (Debbie) Pavlovich, father-in-law, John Bender, sister-in-law, Debra Maclean, brother-in-law, Greg (Mary) Bender, and loving nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to American Heart Association or to the National Wildlife Federation in memory of Ron Pavlovich.

Mrs. Floyce Marshall Lynn, age 93, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lula Marshall; sister, Montine Earl; and brother, Durward Marshall. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nell and Jim Ogles, Buford, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Royce and Phyllis Lynn, Suwanee, GA; grandchildren, Marshall Hortman Lynn and wife, Shannon, Oregon, Jennifer and Chad Sullivan, Duluth, GA, Lamar Ogles, Buford, GA, Steve and Deb Ogles, Alto, GA and Johnny Ogles, Dalton, GA; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Regina Marshall, Buford, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Lynn was born December 22, 1917 and was a native of Buford, GA. She was retired from Georgia Shoe Manufacturing Company and also Buford Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Michael T. “Mike” Peltier, age 64, of Buford, GA passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011. He is survived by his wife of twenty years, Paula A. Peltier, Buford, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Lorrie and Mark Simonds, Buford, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Kathy House, Flowery Branch, GA and Loyd and Theresa Lynn, Buford, GA; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mr. Peltier was born August 3, 1946 in Venture, CO. He was a retired maintenance worker and retired from Point Lanier Co. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Donavan officiating. Mrs. Webber was born October 11, 1933 in Baxley, GA. She was a 1950 graduate of Lyons High School in Lyons, GA. She attended Bible College at Lee University in Cleveland, TN. She pastored Huntsville Church of God in Huntsville, TX. She was a homemaker and Church of God minister. She was a member of Regency Church of God in Buford, GA. Wedis Webber was a woman of great faith and she loved unconditionally. She was a woman with a contagious laugh. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Reece, Rev. John Webber, Rev. Damon Davis, and Rev. Broderic Adams officiating. Graveside Service and interment will be on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Harden’s Chapel First United Methodist Church Cemetery, Highway 56, Lyons, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Mr. Elbert J. “E. J.” Holland Jr., age 93, of Buford, GA passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-seven years, Grace Reed Holland; parents, Elbert J. Holland Sr. and Ada Holland, brothers and sisters-in-law, Emerson and Dean Holland and Boyce and Ruby Holland; sisters, Sybil Silvers, Gladys Lofty, Lois Irvin and Nell Holland; and sister-in-law, Sallie Grace Pass Holland. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and William Clay “Bo” Cropper, Buford, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Tim and Alice Corn Holland, Cumming, GA and Larry R. and Mina Holland, Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Chris and Kim Holland, Bo Reed Holland and Julie Holland, Clay Cropper, Jr. and Lauren Cropper, Seth Cropper, John Holland Cropper, Caleb and Kimberly Holland and Joshua Holland; five great-grandchildren; brother, Quinton Holland, Buford, GA; sister-in-law, Era Mae Shoemake Reed, Buford, GA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Holland was born April 15, 1917 in Barrow County, GA. He was owner of Holland Sausage Company in Buford, GA for many years. He was a member of Buford Masonic Lodge #292 F. & A.M. and also a Shriner and member of the Yaarab Shrine Temple in Atlanta, GA. He was a member of Sherwood’s Coffee Club. He was a resident of Brookside Assisted Living in Buford, GA. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Buford and the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class. He enjoyed playing the lead guitar in the E. J. Holland Band. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Mr. William “Bill” Manente, age 90, of Dacula, GA passed away on Monday, April 4, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Bridgette Manente; and sister, Ida Costa. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Mrs. Betty Manente, Dacula, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Bob Colarusso, Flowery Branch, GA; son, Nicholas Manente, Boca Raton, FL; four grandchildren, Tracie Colarusso, Dacula, GA, Jennifer Cain, Dacula, GA, Lauren Colarusso, Flowery Branch, GA and Michael Manente, Auburn, GA; six great-grandchildren; and nephew, Steven Costa, West Palm Beach, FL. Mr. Manente was born December 15, 1920 in Bronx, NY. He was a retired machinist from Ward Leonard Company and also retired from Glendale Federal Bank in Lighthouse Point, FL. Mr. Bennie Lee Adams, age 83, of Buford, GA passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2011 following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Muriel Adams; brothers, William Adams, Jr. and Eugene Adams; and sisters, Rena Adams West, Vivian Adams McDougal and Sara Adams. He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Mary Coffer Adams, Buford, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Kathy and Tony Jenkins, Norcross, GA and Melissa Adams Stephens, Duluth, GA son, Bennie Adams, II, Buford, GA; grandson, Nicholas Anthony Jenkins, Norcross, GA and great-grandson, Jacob Anthony Jenkins, Cedartown, GA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joann and Brady Sargent, Buford, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Adams was born February 24, 1928 in Hancock County, GA. He was a 1955 graduate of Dacula High School in Dacula, GA. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving with the Military Police during World War II. He was retired from Our Way Corporation in Stone Mountain, GA. He was a faithful member of West Buford Baptist Church in Buford, GA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Bennett and Rev. ANN "GILLY" GILMORE passed away 7/7/11 from late stage breast cancer. She played E-flat clarinet in the Morristown High School band and had many fond memories of Morristown and high school reunions. Anyone who knew Little Gilly will certainly never forgot her. Her father, E.G. Gilmore (Big Gilly) was a well-known horse trainer and her mother was a master tailor. Gilly was a voice major at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, then studied acting at The American Academy of Dramatic Art in New York and became an Equity Actress and working professional for two years. Her next career was in radio in Charlotte, NC. where she had a daily talk show. She became Promotion Director for the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, the first woman to ever hold that job. Atlanta was the first city in the South doing live TV work and Gilly was a pioneer in local TV production at WAGA-TV. “It was new, and exciting and we invented our way as we went, ” she said. She later raised a family, barnyard animals and a huge organic garden in Norcross, GA. She had a radio show, became a travel agent for several years, and then a substitute teacher. She lived in Georgia for 55 years. She loved to travel, play golf and tennis. Her last claim to fame was as the grandmother of Scott Szymanski, age 24, and 11-year-old triplets, Jill, Ross and Jake Bieniek. She is survived by twin daughters, Randy Brannon Bieniek of Duluth, GA, Pam Brannon Simmons of Nashville, TN, and son, Barry Gilmore Brannon of St. Cloud, FL. Mrs. Marianne Stippler Landman, age 88, of Buford, GA passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Harry Landman. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Roz and Jon Alford, Buford, GA, Phyllis and Kerry Karczewski, Buford, GA and Michelle and David Deptula, Tucker, GA; grandchildren, Nicole Fasshauer, Joshua Karczewski, Christopher Lessing, Lisa White, and Sammantha Deptula; and five great-grandchildren, Gage Karczewski, Colton Karczewski, Jake Fasshauer, Danielle Fasshauer and Sophia White. Mrs. Landman was born December 10, 1922 in Hofheim, Germany. She was co-owner of Gaytime Sports and Hobbies in Chicago Heights, IL. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA.
