Miss Terrie Jean West, age 43, of Suwanee, GA passed away on Monday, June 13, 2011. She was preceded in death by her father, Homer Randall West. She is survived by her mother, Nauel West, Suwanee, GA; sister, Shawn Howerton, Milton, GA; grandfather, Kamel Saoud, Michigan; two nieces; and two nephews. Burial interment will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Fain cemetery in Calhoun, GA. Ms. Frances Blan Grizzle, age 75, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wright and Ruby Blan; and brother, James Wright Blan. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Grizzle Daniel and husband, Vince, Buford, GA; son, Jack “Frosty” Grizzle, Sugar Hill, GA; granddaughter, Mary Beth Kaine, Duluth, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Mildred Blan, Buford, GA and Johnny and Sheila Blan, Sugar Hill, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ms. Grizzle was born December 27, 1935 and was a life long resident of Sugar Hill, GA. She was a 1953 graduate of Buford High School in Buford, GA. She was a retired secretary. Catherine Anne (Bender) Pavlovich of Sugar Hill, GA passed away peacefully on June 5, 2011 after a courageous, 15 year battle with ovarian cancer. Cathy was born on May 13, 1957 to Duane & John Bender. She married
Ronald Pavlovich on March 8, 1978. Cathy worked many different jobs over the years, from waitress to bartender to medical transcriptionist, and then completed her studies to be certified as a medical assistant. Most recently she worked at Tri-County Medical Center in Buford, GA. Diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer in 1996, Cathy began her long journey with strength, determination and faith. She continued to think of her family and friends first, took care of her pets and her flower gardens, and enjoyed family celebrations and adventures. Everyone who knew Cathy enjoyed her fun-loving nature and admired her courage. Cathy was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Pavlovich, her daughter, Amy, and her mother, Duane Bender. She is survived by her father, John Bender, sister Debra MacLean, brother Greg (Mary) Bender, in-laws Joe Pavlovich and Mike (Debbie) Pavlovich. Cathy's unfailing cheer and fierce determination touched many lives and she remains an inspiration to many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Cathy's family would like to thank all the medical professionals who provided wonderful care and loving support to Cathy. We especially thank Dr. Anthony Landis and his team for their excellent care. When treatments were no longer an option we were blessed to have the support of Embracing Hospice - especially Leslie Young, RN and Tom Egbert, Chaplin. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Deacon Mike Jones officiating. Larry K. Shriver, 65, of Buford, GA died Sunday June 5, 2011 at his home. He was born September 1, 1945 son of the late Olive Shriver Swetz and Herschel Shriver of Pleasant City, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Sherry, Son L. Kyle Shriver, and Daughter Nicole Shriver, of Buford, GA; formerly of Pleasant City, Ohio. He also has a half brother David and Sandy Swetz of Pleasant City, Ohio. He retired from NCR after 34 years prior to working for Jones Lang LaSall Company and retiring due to his illness in 2009. He was a member of Epithany Byzantine Catholic Church of Roswell, GA. In 1973 he moved to GA and worked at Lucent Technology and retired after 28 years of service in 1998. Mr. Fox was married
to Judy Reddish and they began traveling the United States. Olen loved to travel and he loved to spend time with his children, and grandchildren, he loved hunting, camping, working with honey bees, riding four wheelers, and sitting by the fire telling stories. Mr. Fox was a member of Tilly Creek Baptist church in North Carolina. Mr. Eldon Leon Boles, age 89, of Barnesville, GA passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Spalding Regional Hospital. Mr. Boles was born in Forsyth County, Georgia, son of the late Claude H. and Ora Bagley Boles. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Barnesville. He was a retired truck driver, a former member of the Civilian Conservation Corps as a laborer in the North Georgia Mountains and held several offices in the Woodmen of the World’s Barnesville Lodge 199. Hazel Pruitt Carroll, 91, of Lawrenceville, GA died Monday, May 30, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernie; parents; seven sisters; and two brothers. She is survived by daughter, Jo and her husband, Paul Brooks; grandson, Michael Brooks and wife, Marcia; grandson, Bruce Brooks and wife, Holly; great granddaughter, Alison Brooks; and several nieces and nephews. Hazel retired from General Shoe and Rose’s Department Store. She was an active member of Gwinnett Senior Citizens “Get Up & Go Club” where she crocheted many items and donated them to worthy charities. She made and kept many close friends.
