Mrs. Joan Pass Kelly, age 70, of Buford, GA passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, Harry M. Kelly; grandson, Alex Kelly; parents, Bruce and Clara Bess Westbrook Pass; and brothers, Warren Pass and Bruce Pass. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Johnny Carswell, Buford, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Donna Kelly, Flowery Branch, GA and John and Cheryl Kelly, Braselton, GA; grandchildren, Lauren and Aubrey Hatch, Ashley Herrin, Alexa Kelly, Ben Carswell and John David Kelly; sister-in-law, Shirley Pass, Stone Mountain, GA; aunt, Gladys Westbrook Knox, Buford, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Kelly was born November 29, 1940 in Atlanta, GA. She was a 1958 graduate of Buford High School in Buford, GA and attended college at Emory University at Oxford. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Buford where she was also a member of the Ladies’ Friendship Sunday School Class. Mr. Herb Ackermann, age 61, of Carnesville, GA and formerly of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, August 5, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Mary Ackermann; and brother, Carl Ackermann. He is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Iva Mae Ackermann, Carnesville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Trudi and Judd Cheek, Buford, GA and Trisha and Joseph English, Winder, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, Joseph Ackermann, Sandy Springs, GA and Steven and Cecilia Ackermann, Buford, GA; nine grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Lu Christiansen, Tucker, GA and Dorothy and Larry Neuaman, Huntsville, AL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Norbert and Charis Ackermann, Knoxville, TN, James and Kathy Ackermann, Atlanta, GA and Dennis and Leslie Ackermann, Buford, GA; sister-in-law, Jeanne Ackermann, Nashville, TN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Ackermann was born July 31, 1950 in Nashville, TN. He was a 1968 graduate of St. Pius High School in Atlanta, GA and attended the University of Tennessee. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He was a supervisor with Auto Zone in Lavonia, GA. He was a former member of Prince Of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch, GA and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Toccoa, GA. As a member of the church, he was a Lector and a sponsor for marriage encounters. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and boating. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be greatly missed by his family. Mr. Jason Brian Krajc, age 36, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Tonya Hoefle Krajc, Sugar Hill, GA; parents, Joe and Jodi Krajc, Danville, VA; sister, Jeanette K. Henegar and spouse, Paul, Roanoke, VA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dawn (Hoefle) and Terry Gaines, Wood River, IL; and two faithful beagles, Cooper and Nash. Mr. Krajc was born September 7, 1974 in Danville, VA. He was a 1992 graduate of George Washington High School in Danville, VA. He attended Radford University in Radford, VA. He was a self-employed superintendent in construction and remodeling. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and water sports. He was a U.N.C. Tarheel Fan and was an avid music fan. to Maureen Zielinski for 55 years. He pastored several churches in the North, served as a mentor, Sunday School and Bible teacher and participated in amen’s prayer group at 1st Baptist Buford. He is survived by his wife, his daughter Susan Nelson and her husband Eric, his son Thomas Jon, his grandson Matthew Nelson and four brothers. His Homegoing Celebration will be held Thursday August 4, 2011 at 3 pm at 1st Baptist Buford, 4550 Hamilton Mill Rd. The family will receive visitors 1-2:30. Benjamin Thomas Jeffcoat, age 43, died suddenly July 29, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Lauren Jeffcoat and ten-year old daughter, Melanie Rose Jeffcoat of Buford. Also surviving are his parents, Carl and Ann Jeffcoat of Gulf Breeze, FL; his sister, Holly Jeffcoat Phillips and brother-in-law, Brand Phillips of Albuquerque, NM; and mother-in-law, Gloria Ledford of Buford. Ben was born in Springfield, IL and raised in Randolph, NJ. He graduated from Randolph High School then later earned his Batchelor’s of Arts Degree from Georgia State University. Ben was a member of Sugar Hill United Methodist Church where he was a devoted Youth Group Leader. Ben was a devoted Christian and lived his life for the Lord. He knew no enemies. Ben never met a stranger and was always giving of himself whether it be of his time, money or infinite patience. Ben taught Discipleship Classes at Sugar Hill United Methodist Church. He was always volunteering to help those in need. Ben loved music, all sports and his beloved Auburn Tigers. Ben will be deeply missed by his family and friends who are all devastated at his passing. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Sugar Hill United Methodist Church in Sugar Hill, GA with Rev. Janet Whitaker and Rev. Mari Lane Brooks officiating. Mr. John H. Mooney, age 70, of Duluth, GA passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2011. He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Dawn Zanich, Plainfield, NY; sisters, Linda Moore Duncan, Gainesville, GA and Dianne Taylor, Flowery Branch, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Joan Mooney, Flowery Branch, GA; sister-in-law, Gelain Lancaster Mooney, Flowery Branch, GA; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and best friend and caretaker, Manuel Gaona. Mr. Mooney was born September 12, 1940 in Walton County, GA. He was a 1960 graduate of Berry High School in Rome, GA, a 1979 graduate of Perimeter College with an Associate’s Degree in Arts and a 1986 graduate of Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. He was retired from Verizon Wireless in Atlanta and Coats and Clark in Atlanta. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Buford where he was also a member of the Agape Sunday School Class, Abundant Life Fellowship and the Silvertone Choir. Mr. Jerry (Monk) Cantrell was born February 23, 1948 in Buford, GA to the late, Mr. Warren Cantrell, Sr. and Pastor Viola Cantrell. He departed his life on July 23, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Warren Cantrell, Sr.; two brothers, Mr. John David Cantrell and John C. Cantrell; and one nephew, Frederick D. Force. Jerry was employed with the City of Buford for about twenty or twenty-five years. He was loved by many. He leaves to mourn his mother, Pastor Viola Haynes Cantrell, Buford, GA; one daughter, Kenisha R. Bickley, St. Louis, MO; one granddaughter; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy (Billy) Lotts, Shirley Jean Force and Leola Cantrell, all of Buford; two brothers, Mr. Warren (Elisie) Cantrell, Jr., and Lovie Earls, all of Buford; best friend, Prestee Earls; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Bennett, Sr.; son, Odell Bennett, Jr.; and grandson, Jon M. Bennett. She is survived by her son, Larry Bennett and wife, Beverly of Buford, daughter-in-law, Bette Bennett Taylor of Lawrenceville; granddaughters, Sissy Bennett of Lawrenceville, Susan Kerlin and her husband, Bryan of Buford, Tami Bennett of Buford, and Amy Wilson and husband, Mike of Flowery Branch; grandson, Adam Bennett and wife, Mandy of Buford; great grandchildren, Ansley, Danna and Jacob Bennett, Anna, Amanda and Alyssa Kerlin and Dustin Bennett; and one great great-grandchild, Jayvin Bennett, all of Buford. Mr. Gharineh was born in Tehran Iran on April 12, 1960, he was the owner of Carpet express in Sugar Hill, and a member of Covenant Life Church, Lawrenceville, GA. Twanda Darlene Negley, 75, of Suwanee, Georgia passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2011 following an extended illness. Twanda was born November 20, 1935 in Anderson, Indiana, the daughter of Norman Leslie Sloan, Sr. and Mary Florence Seacat Sloan. She will be deeply missed by her loving family including her husband of 53 years, Joseph W. Negley, of Suwanee, Georgia and their four sons, Joseph L. Negley and his wife Debbie of Cumming, Georgia, Cary D. Negley and his wife Bettie of Savannah, Georgia, Eric W. Negley and his wife Beverly of Suwanee, Georgia, Michael W. Negley and his wife Rebel of Birmingham, Alabama. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Madison and Joey of Cumming, Georgia, Mary Elizabeth, Carolyn, Carrie, and Michelle of Savannah, Georgia, Jeremey and his wife, Michael, of Gainesville, Georgia, Sunni and her husband, Keelan Parrish, of Birmingham, Alabama, and three great grandchildren, Braelynn and Kinslee Negley, and Jodi Parrish. Twanda grew up in Indiana, graduating from Tipton High School in 1953. She attended Ball State University her freshman year and transferred to Furman University for her sophomore and junior years. After raising her family, Twanda returned to college and graduated from Georgia State University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Twanda has used her love of children and her amazing organizational skills throughout her life in her work as a lifeguard and swim instructor, an office manager, and a teacher. Twanda was preceded in death by her brothers Norman L. Sloan, Jr. of Raleigh, North Carolina and Marvin R. Sloan of Warren, Michigan, and her sister Vivian L. Lineberry of Fort White, Florida. She is survived by her brother, Charles W. Sloan and his wife Jeanette of Raleigh, North Carolina, and her sisters Janet and her husband Richard Shrigley of Carlsbad, California, Mary Jo and her husband Charles Hall of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and her sister-in-law Joan Sloan of Raleigh, North Carolina. Twanda is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Twanda loved children and took great pride in making a home filled with love for her husband and children. She lived through her children being an active adult volunteer at each stage of their young lives, as den mother, PTA president, school volunteer, and sports booster. Traveling, reading, decorating, cooking, entertaining family and friends, and being with her grandchildren were the delights of her life. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 11:00AM at Parkway Presbyterian Church, 5830 Bethelview Road, Cumming, Georgia 30040. Robert D. Peevy, 84 of Hoschton passed away Sunday July 17, 2011 after a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Chatham Peevy; sons and daughters-in-Iaw, Wayne and Valorie Peevy, Hoschton and Mike and Susan Peevy, Buford; grandchildren, Kim Pendley, Jon & Tiffany Peevy, Amber Peevy, Brandon & Christy Peevy; great grandchildren, Jacob Pendley, Bradley, Bailey, Linsey & Gracie Peevy, Riley, Haley and Rachael Smith; sisters and brothers-in-law, Willie Ruth and Holland Burnette, Gwen and Jack Leach, Opal Parks, J.W. Griffin; sisters-in-law, Grace Stephens, Geneva Taylor and Charlotte Towler, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Olin C. and Lois Allen Peevy;, sisters, Dorothy Reynolds, Sue Griffin and Barbara Emmerson. As a Baptist minister, Reverend Peevy has served as pastor for Collins Hill Baptist in Lawrenceville, Sharon Baptist in Hoschton, and Ivy Creek Baptist in Buford. He also served as interim pastor at Pleasant Grove Baptist in Lawrenceville. As a pattern maker by trade, he worked for E.V. Camp's Steelworks in Atlanta and Townley Engineering and Manufacturing in Ocala, Florida. He resided in Gwinnett county most of his life, moving to Jackson county after retirement. He was an avid gardener. He loved to spend time outside enjoying God's handiwork. Woodworking was also a gift of his and he enjoyed creating many projects over the years for family and friends. Reverend Peevy was a member of Ivy Creek Baptist Church in Buford. The family will receive family and friends from 4pm to 8pm on Tuesday at Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11:00a.m. at Ivy Creek Baptist Church in Buford.
