She is survived by her mother, Betty Barnes, Anniston, AL and formerly of Buford, GA; sisters, Phyllis Carol Dutton, Greenville, SC, Mary Judith Hansek, Anniston, AL and Cherith Claire Crumbley, Buford, GA; brother, Herbert Earl Barnes, Jr., Sugar Hill, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. C.S.T. at Valhalla Memorial Gardens in Birmingham, AL with Rev. Ken Ballard officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Mr. Johnathan “J. J.” Campbell, age 15, of Buford, GA passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 from an automobile accident. He is survived by his parents, Mike and Florence Campbell, Buford, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Cole Kregelka, Jeffersonville, IN, Marilyn Campbell, Lexington, KY and Rebecca Campbell, Buford, GA; grandmother, Loretta McGonagle, Idaho; and niece, MacKenzie Kregelka. Johnathan “J. J.” was a ninth grade student at Lanier High School. He was a soccer player and involved with the arts. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Henderson officiating. The remains will be cremated following the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Frances Charlene Rowland of Atlanta, formerly of Buford, GA passed away March 27, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Marie Rowland, sister, Princine Johnson, and brothers, Gerald, James, Larry and, Michael Rowland. She is survived by her sisters, Verona Johnson, Winter Haven, FL; Shelby Jean Harrison, Carrollton, GA; Brenda and Gary Reed, Bessemer, AL, and Linda and David Parker, Lawrenceville, GA and brother, Douglas and Barbara Rowland, Kingsland, GA. Several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 11:00 am at Sugar Hill Cemetery, Sugar Hill, GA. Mrs. Mei Chen Nelson, age 86, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2011. Her husband, James R. Nelson, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Jeff Wilcoxson, Lawrenceville, GA; step grandchildren, Erica and Robert Greenwald, Lawrenceville, GA and Ivy and David Adamson, Depauw, IN; and great-grandchildren, Alishia Adamson, David Michael Adamson, Bobby Jones, Greta Greenwald and Katie Greenwald. Mrs. Nelson was born November 18, 1924 in China. She was a graduate of Thomas Nelson Community College with an Associate’s Degree. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Peninsula Baptist Church in Newport News, VA. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home. Mr. Doyle Pruitt, age 84, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, March 25, 2011. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Fox Pruitt; second wife, Reba Pruitt; parents, Andrew and Allene Hammond Pruitt; sisters, Claudine Thrasher, Velma Butler, and Lennie Lee; brothers, Winfred Pruitt, Marvin Pruitt and Cecil Pruitt; and nephew, Boyce Pruitt. Mr. Pruitt was born June 12, 1926 in Buford, GA. He was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Navy. He was retired from DeKalb County Public Utilities Dept. in Decatur, GA. Mr. Willard O. Ashe, age 85, of Suwanee, GA passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2011 after an extended illness at Gwinnett Extended Care in Lawrenceville, GA. He is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Janet Ashe, Suwanee, GA; son and daughter-in-law, William Allen and Jennifer Ashe, Chamblee, GA; sister, Edith Angela Pirkle, Cumming, GA; sister-in-law, Jeanne Shafer, Alexander, VA; one nephew; and four nieces. Mr. Ashe was born January 10, 1926 in Hayesville, NC. He was a 1943 graduate of Hayesville High School in Hayesville, NC and a graduate of Benjamin Franklin University in Washington DC where he received his Master’s Degree in Commercial Science. He was a retired accountant from the U. S. Senate in Washington DC. He was a member of the Suwanee Park Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Suwanee, GA. Mrs. Verenich was born March 15, 1943 in Belarussia. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Regency Church of God in Buford, GA. She was a former secretary for the Women’s Ministry at the Church of God Georgia State Office in Lawrenceville, GA. He retired from Lucent Technology after 27 years of service, Mr. Tatum worked as an Insurance agent for Southland Life Insurance Company and a member of Flowery Branch Church of God for 37 years.
