Hilda B. Lane, 90, of Camilla, died Monday, May 31, 2010 at her
grandson’s residence in Thomasville.
Graveside funeral services will be 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 1 at Oakview
Cemetery with Rev. Rick Williams officiating.
Born May 1, 1920 in Clay County, Mrs. Lane was the daughter of the
late Clarence J. and Bertha Norwood Belisle. She was married
to the
late W. A. Lane, Jr. Mrs. Lane was a homemaker and retired bookkeeper.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Camilla.
Survivors include a daughter, Nell Worsham & husband, Murray, of
Navarre, FL; two grandchildren, Kelly Abbott & wife, Heather, of
Thomasville and Brooke Worsham of Tallahassee, FL.

James David Silvers
James David Silvers, 77, of the Lester Community, went to be with his Lord and Savior on
August 12, 2010, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Spring Hill Free Will Baptist
Church with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Charles Blanton will officiate.
Active pallbearers will include Todd Washington, Fidel Aguilar, Billy Jones, Mike Holwick,
Juan Valtierra, and James Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be dear friends Horace and
Virginia Salter and Opal Hatcher.
Born March 4, 1933 in Chatsworth, GA, Mr. Silvers was the son of the late Rastus and
Burnice Harmon Silvers. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Jeannine, on
May 21, 2010. He was an active member of Spring Hill Free Will Baptist Church in the
Lester Community for the past 60 years, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School
Director, CTS Director, and Assistant Youth Leader for many years. He also served on
the Church cemetery Committee for many years.
Survivors include one daughter, Melba Washington Wishum & husband, Jerry, of Tifton;
one son, David Silvers & wife, Pat, of Baxley; three sisters, Mary Etheredge & husband,
Glenn, of Albany, Grace Holwick of Albany, and Susan Bateham & husband, Joe, of
Worth County; five grandchildren, Kelly S. Evans of Brooklet, Crystal S. Valtierra of
Baxley, Kimberly S. Boatright of Baxley, Melissa W. Cagle of Warner Robins, and
Todd P. Washington of the Lester Community; as well as four great grandchildren.

Charley Lee Duke, Sr., 67, of Newton, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Pelham Parkway
Nursing Home.
Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 13 at Travelers Rest FreeWill
Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. James Sanders will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the church following the services.

Born April 10, 1944 in Colquitt, GA., Mr. Duke was the son of the late Cecil and Sarah
Hay Duke. He was a member of Travelers Rest FreeWill Baptist Church. Mr. Duke was
retired County Manager for Baker County, where he also served as, County Coroner, EMS
Director, EMA Director, and numerous other duties.
Survivors include his wife, Faye M. Duke of Newton; a daughter, Fran D. Brogren and
husband, Fred R. Brogren, Jr., of Pelham; two sons, Charley L. Duke, Jr. and Chad E.
Duke, both of Newton; two brothers, Jimmy J. Duke of Tucson, AZ and Cecil Frank
Duke of Albany; two grandchildren, Kayla Brogren and Lacey Brogren.

John Wesley (J.W.) Edwards, 67, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at
Pelham Parkway Nursing Home.

Cooper, Kelvin Hooks, Jody Edwards and Jimmy Edwards.

Born August 29, 1943, in Mitchell County, Mr. Edwards was the son
of the late John Rufus Edwards and Willene Palmer Edwards. He was
a retired production supervisor for Proctor and Gamble and served in
the U.S. Army. Mr. Edwards was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, John Edwards, Jr., Charles
L. Edwards and Bobby V. Edwards and a grandson, Josh Haire.
Survivors include his wife, Betty P. Edwards of Camilla; daughter, Tina
E. Humphries and husband, Brock of Sale City; step-son, Butch
Bateman and wife, MaryBeth of Leesburg; brothers, Cecil Edwards
and wife, Christine of Camilla, Lamar Edwards and wife, Maxine of
Camilla, Gene Edwards and wife, Janie of Hopeful, Mervin Edwards
and wife, Sue of Cairo; sisters, Janice Bishop and husband, Howard of
Cairo, Frances Hooks and husband, Martie of Pelham; grandchildren,
Kalyn Humphries, Kendall Humphries, Hope Donaldson, Lauren Collins,
Ben Bateman; and five great-grandchildren.

Robert “Ike” Mote, 57, of Leesburg died Friday, April 16, 2010 at his
residence in Leesburg.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at
Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home with burial at Milford Church Cemetery.

Born February 9, 1953 in Randolph County, Mr. Mote was a retired
plumber and a member of Baconton Baptist Church. He was preceded
in death by his parents, Ivey John Mote and Rosetta Williams Mote
Miller.
Survivors include a son, Robert John Mote of Newton; three daughters,
Angela Tucker and husband, James, of Leesburg, Rebecca Shomper
and husband, Bobby, of Germany and Jennifer Mote of Newton; a
sister, Rebecca Morey and husband, Donald, of Hahira; a brother,
Eugene Prance of Thomasville and fourteen grandchildren and the
mother of his children, Jeanette Mote of Newton.

Cordelia Frances Kidd
Cordelia Frances Kidd, 98, of Milford, died Monday, June 21, 2010 at
Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 23 at Milford
Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
Born March 7, 1912 in Patmos, GA, Mrs. Kidd was the daughter of the
late Wallace B. and Lee Ila Etherredge Griffin. She was married
to the
late Louis O. Kidd. Mrs. Kidd had 49 first cousins. She was a retired
school teacher. She was a member of Patmos Freewill Baptist Church
as a child and also a member of Baptist Churches in Baltimore, MD,
Washington, DC, New York City, Birmingham, AL, Atlanta, GA,
Savannah, GA, Macon, GA, Griffin, GA, Thomasville, GA, and
presently a member of Milford Baptist Church. She was preceded in
death by a brother, E.W. Griffin of Albany, GA and two sisters, Grace
Twitty Williford of Newton, GA and Abbie Griffin McMurria of
Arlington, GA.
Survivors include two children, Mr. & Mrs. William W. Kidd (Judy) of
Baker County and Mrs. Ila Tribble of Anderson, S.C.; grandchildren,
Ms. Joy Tribble of Conover, N.C., Mr. & Mrs. Mark Maxwell (Janis) of
Athens, GA, Mr. & Mrs. Stephen Culpepper (Kathy) of Anderson, S.C.,
Dr. & Mrs. Kelly Tribble (Janice) of Irmo, S.C., Mr. & Mrs. Jeffrey
Trapnell (Jennifer) of Atlanta, GA, Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Cross (Allison) of

Troy Neal Shiver, 86, of Camilla, died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at his
residence.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at
Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home with interment in Oakview cemetery in
Camilla. Rev. Andy Hall and Rev. Joe Poitevint will officiate.

Born December 15, 1923 in Mitchell County, Mr. Shiver was the son
of the late Troy Norman and Bessy Cook Shiver. Mr. Shiver was
retired from Mitchell EMC and was a member of Pinecliff Baptist
Church. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marines. He was
preceded in death by a daughter Krista Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Lee Shiver of Camilla; a son,
Norman Neal Shiver & wife Linda; son in law, Pete Johnson; g
randchildren, Jud Shiver & wife Amy, Jesse Johnson, Troy Johnson
& wife Kim, Neal Shiver & wife Lori, Pauline Shiver, Jennifer Shiver,
and Brooke Woods; great grandchildren, Will Shiver, Olivia Shiver,
Julia Anne Shiver, Maggie Shiver, Allie Johnson, Kaitlyn Johnson,
Tyler Shiver, Noah Anderson, Hannah Woods, Parker Woods, Abby
