Mary L. Edwards Pollock, 94, of Camilla died Sunday, July 3, 2011 at
Mitchell County Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Southside
Baptist Church with interment at Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Rev. Neal
Hager and Rev. Tim Bozeman will officiate.
Born February 14, 1917 in Terrell County, Mrs. Pollock was a
homemaker and member of Southside Baptist Church. She was preceded
in death by her husband, Tom Watson Pollock and son, Julian Pollock
and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Parry Lee West Edwards.
Survivors include daughters, Joyce Pullen and husband, Keaton of Sale
City, Annie Ruth Batchelor and husband, Waymon of Camilla, Jeanette
Kelley and husband, Randall of Hartsfield, Juanita Sherrill and husband,
Tim of Camilla; sons James Pollock and wife, Jan of Camilla, Jack
Pollock and wife, Shirley of Camilla; sisters Lural Palmer of Pelham and
Myrtle Layfield of Putney; 22 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and
35 great-great-grandchildren.

John Leo Shiver
John Leo Shiver, 78, of Camilla, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at his
residence in Camilla.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 28 at Parker-Bramlett
Funeral Home with interment in Oakview Cemetery. Rev. Corey
Shiver and Rev. Neal Hager will officiate.
Born November 20, 1934 in Mitchell County, Mr. Shiver was the
son of the late Warren and Lailor Turner Shiver. He was preceded
in death by two brothers, Grover Shiver and Jesse Shiver and a sister,
Alma Harrell Coleman. He was a member of Southside Baptist
Church and worked as a general contractor.
Survivors include his wife, Dazie Chapman Shiver of Camilla; two
sons, Mike Shiver and wife, Becky, of Camilla and Mark Shiver of
Camilla; two sisters, Nadine Harrell of Camilla, Erma Lee Wood of
Camilla; one brother, Warren Gene Shiver of Camilla; five
grandchildren, Rentz Hampton, Casey Shiver, Turner Shiver, Emily
Shiver, and Meredith Shiver; and two great-grandchildren, Luke
Hampton and Cooper Shiver.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, June 27 at Parker-Bramlett
Funeral Home.

William L. “Bill” Adkins
William Lucius Adkins, 81, of Elmodel, died Saturday, May 01, 2010.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2010 at Elmodel Presbyterian
Church with interment at Milford Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Walter Flint will
officiate.
Pallbearers include Zach Thwaite, Ralson Goetz, Wesley Padgett, Josh Kirkland,
Bradfield Evans, and Andy Palmer.
Born October 7, 1928 in Elmodel, Baker County, Mr. Adkins was the son of the
late Alexander H. and Mattie Toy Laing Adkins. He was retired after 37 years
as plantation manager of Ichauway, Inc. Mr. Adkins was a member of Elmodel
Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Grace H. Adkins of Elmodel; two sons, Lucius Adkins
and wife, Jill, of Elmodel and Cliff Adkins and wife, Maria, of Albany; a daughter,
Kay Lowe and husband, Mike, of Vinings; a sister, Mary Ann Hill of Acworth; a
brother, Arthur Laing Adkins of Commerce; eight grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Parker-Bramlett
Funeral Home.

James Roy Massey
James Roy Massey, 64, of Albany, formerly of Newton, died Wednesday,
June 30, 2010 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 3 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church
with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Jeff Hogan will officiate.
Active pallbearers will be Keith Massey, Tony Maples, Don Holmes, Charles Duke,
Greg Duke, Ricky Duke and Raymond Wiley.
Born January 4, 1946 in Barrow County, Georgia, Mr. Massey was the son of the
late Hubert Massey and Albina Watson Massey. He was self-employed as a mason
and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Massey was preceded in death by a son, Michael J
ames Massey, his brothers, Harold Massey and Walter Massey, and a sister, Doris
Handley.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Cox Massey of Albany; a daughter, Beverly
Massey of Albany; a son Randall Keith Massey of Toccoa; a brother, Gerald
Massey of Jefferson, Ga; a sister, Frances Pettyjohn of Hoschton, Ga; one
grandchild, Chelsea Massey, one great-grandchild, Jayden Massey, a special
cousin, Elzie Duke of Newton, and a special friend, Diane Wiley of Leesburg,
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 2 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home.

Willie Virginia Dixon, 80, of Camilla, died Monday, September 6, 2010
at Mitchell Convalescent Center in Camilla.
Funeral services will be announced by Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in
Camilla.
THOMAS W. FUTCH
Thomas W. Futch, 67, of 1559 Hwy 19 S., Pelham, Ga. died Saturday, April 9, 2011
at Mitchell County Hospital.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral
Home with interment in Liberty Hill Church Cemetery. Rev. Doug Hall will officiate.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Born August 26, 1943 in Mitchell County, Mr. Futch attended Cotton and Pelham Schools.
He was a retired construction superintendent having worked with Oxford Construction
Company for over 20 years; attended Union Grove Baptist Church and was an avid antique
automobile enthusiast. Mr. Futch was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Jernigan
Futch and parents, Wallace and Maggie Curles Futch.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Reeves and husband, Jim, of Hinsonton; sons
Thomas Futch, Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Jacksonville, Fl. and Marcus Futch of Pelham; sisters,
Dorothy Futch of Moultrie, Johnnie Gibson of Pelham and Lynda Holloway of Thomasville;
brothers, Alfred Futch of Thomasville and Eugene “Snow” Futch of Meigs; and mother-in-law,
Dorothy Jernigan Sampson of St. Cloud, Fl; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Louise Cooper Smith
Mrs. Louise Cooper Smith, 80, of 2199 Harmony Rd., Pelham died Saturday, May 21,
2011, surrounded by family at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Parker -Bramlett
Funeral Home in Camilla, GA, with interment to follow in Harmony Baptist Church cemetery.
Rev. Franklin Russ will officiate.
Louise was born March 1, 1931, in Mitchell County to the late B. J. and Jewel Faircloth
Cooper. She was married
to the late Roy Smith of Pelham, GA. Louise was a member of
Harmony Baptist Church and a beautician for 56 years and an avid gardener who was
known for her generosity of spirit, often sharing her time, resources, and plants with others.
She came from a large family, raising several brothers and sisters after her mother died, and
remained loyal to her extended family her entire life. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by
four brothers, DeLoyd, Collis, Dick and Byron and five sisters, Flora Bell, Jewel, Virginia,
Mildred and Doris.
Survivors include her three sons, Dr. Randy Smith and his wife, Laura (Jackson, MS);
Ansley Smith and his wife, Dr. Barbara Kupka-Smith (Camilla, GA), and Sheldon Smith
and his wife, Leigh (Cataula, GA); seven grandchildren, Benjamin Ratliff, Katie Smith,
Connor Smith, Lauren Smith, Erin Smith, Nathanael Smith, and Flannery Smith; a brother,
Franklin Bo Cooper (Camilla, GA), two sisters, Margaret Bedsole (Havana, FL), and
Jean Adams (Camilla, GA); and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral
