Mary Ann Worsham Rumker
Mary Ann Worsham Rumker, 77, of Camilla, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Archbold
Memorial Hospital in Thomasville.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 23 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with
iIntermentin Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery. Rev. Robert Lewis, Rev. Tom Newman, and
Rev. Stanley Smith will officiate.
Pallbearers include Roger Dale Watson, Kyle Singleton, Tyler Brookshire, Scott Wooten,
Chris Worsham, Derrick Towe, Bradley Mealer, Kevin Christie, and Matthew Watts.
Born October 1, 1932 in Mitchell County, Mrs. Rumker was the daughter of the late George
Washington and Nora Mae Rogers Wisham. She was preceded in death by husbands, Odis
Singleton, Sr. and James Burtz; a sister, Sue Sampson; and a step-son, Chris Rumker.
Mrs. Rumker was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was an
amazing woman who will be missed, but remembered by all.
Survivors include her husband, Christopher Rumker of Camilla; four sons, Odis Singleton &
wife, Donna, of Marietta, Phillip Singleton of Calhoun, Randy Singleton of Pelham, and Dennis
Singleton & wife, Lisa, of Cocoa Beach, FL; two daughters, Cathy Knowles & husband, John,
of Camilla and Teresa Carver & husband, Stanley, of Calhoun; a brother, Larry Worsham &
wife, Janice, of Vada; 16 grandchildren, Julie, Kara, Leah, Kyle, Christy, April, Melissa, Missy,
Crystal, Ashley, Jennifer, Emily, Alicia, Lorie, Samantha, and Amanda; and 17 great
grandchildren, Kayla, Alex, Kingston, William, Tyler, Hannah, Grant, Lane, Jordan, Brook,
Owen, Jailyn, Will, Lee, Brett, Jacob, and Alyssa.
Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, July 22 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home.

CURTIS W. SWAIN
Curtis W. (C.W.) Swain, 82, of Sale City, died Sunday, December 12, 2010
at Mitchell County Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Parker-
Bramlett Funeral Home with interment in Pebble City Cemetery. Rev. Tim Bozeman
will officiate.
Born May 29, 1928 in Mitchell County, Mr. Swain was retired from farming and was
of the Baptist faith. He had previously served with the Mitchell County Soil and Water
Conservation District, the Mitchell County Farm Bureau Board and previously served
as Mayor of Sale City. Mr. Swain was preceded in death by a son, Jackie Swain, his
parents, Curtis W. Swain, Sr. and Maxie Thompson Swain; six sisters and one brother.
Survivors include his wife, Guilda Swain of Sale City; sons, John W. Swain and wife,
Terrie, of Sale City, Roger D. Swain and wife, Ann, of Preston, Ga., Anthony “Punk”
Swain of Sale City; daughter, Janet “Sis” Thompson and husband, Ronnie, of Madison,
Fl.; a sister, Wilma Waller of Tallahassee, Fl.; seven grandchildren, Jared Swain
(Rebecca). Jacob Swain, Michael Swain, Ronnie Thompson, Jr., Jay Thompson
(Brooke), LeAnn Watson (Chip), and Bayleigh Swain; two step-grandchildren, Mikie
Newsome (Jenny) and Mandy Newsome; two great grandchildren and five step great
grandchildren.

Leonard Thurston Simmons
Leonard Thurston Simmons, 75, of Newton, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Phoebe
Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 25 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home
with interment in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Rev. Joe Poitevint and Rev. James Sanders
will officiate.
Active Pallbearers include Kevin Coker, Jay Cowart, Vann Irvin, Warren Parker, David
Rogers, and Nathan Rogers. Members of the Newton Baptist Church Brotherhood will
serve as honorary pallbearers.
Born August 5, 1935 in Turner County, Mr. Simmons was the son of the late William
Ernest and Lois Reed Simmons. He was a Phi Kappa Phi graduate of the University of
Georgia. Mr. Simmons was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and a member of Newton
Baptist Church. He was a farmer and taught Agriculture in Baker County Schools for 13
years, where he also served as FFA advisor. Mr. Simmons was an avid lifelong Boston
Celtics fan.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Sego Simmons of Newton; a daughter, Melanie Shiver
and husband, Joe, of Camilla; a son, Leonard Thurston “Rusty” Simmons, Jr. and wife,
Missi, of Orlando, FL; a brother, William Ernest Simmons, Jr. and wife, Dorothy, of
Jacksonville, FL; and three grandchildren, Justin Shiver, Brett Shiver, and Meritt Simmons.
Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, February 24 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home
in Camilla.

Christopher Columbus Woods
Christopher Columbus Woods, 70, of Sylvester died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at his
residence.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 23 at Sale City Baptist Church with
iIntermentin Cool Springs Cemetery. Rev. Tim Bozeman will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Justin Woods, Larry McConnell, Jason Duckworth, Bryan Woods, Chris
Parker, and Rex Shiver.
Born April 14, 1941 in Mitchell County, Mr. Woods was the son of the late Stanford Woods
and Maggie Shiver Woods. He was in the optical field for over 40 years and lab manager
for the past 23 years with The Hour Glass and a member of Sale City Baptist Church where
he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was an avid sportsman and
outdoorsman. Mr. Woods was preceded in death by his first wife Glenda Sharon Woods and
his brothers, Herman Woods, Lynn Woods and Glynn Woods.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Woods of Sylvester; two sons, Patrick Woods of Leesburg
and Greg Woods of Leesburg; step-daughter, Teresa Hudson of Albany; three sisters,
Cherry Parker of Orlando, FL, Delores Smith of Panama City, FL, Peggy Everson of Cordele,
Ga.; three grandchildren, Jason Woods, Heather Woods and Brady Woods; one great-
granddaughter, Kyra Woods; seventeen nieces and nephews and twenty-two great nieces and
nephews.

Bernalda Hagmoc Goolsby, 73, of Elmodel, died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Phoebe Putney
Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Graveside funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 31 at Patmos Free Will Baptist
Church Cemetery. Rev. Harold Williams, Rev. Stan Glass, and Rev. Curtis Alligood will
officiate.
Born August 20, 1936 in Honolulu, Hawaii, Mrs. Goolsby was the daughter of the late
Maximo and Monoleme Hagmoc. She was a homemaker and retired secretary.
Mrs. Goolsby was a member of the True Jesus Mission Church in Honolulu.
Survivors include her husband, Carl E. Goolsby, Sr. of Elmodel; one daughter, Kim Cribb
of Virginia Beach, VA; two sons, Carl E. Goolsby, Jr. of Trenton and William M. Goolsby
of Elmodel; one sister, Monaco Macreffe of Hawaii; two grandchildren, Brandi Hilton of
Edison and Kaleb Cribb of Augusta; one great grandchild, Cabe Hilton.

Alice Faye Edwards, 65, of Patmos, Ga. died Saturday, October 2, 2010 at
Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Milford Baptist
Church with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Preston Wilson and Rev.
Dewey Mallory will officiate.
Born in Jan. 8, 1945 in Calhoun County, Mrs. Edwards was a member of Milford
Baptist Church. She formerly worked at Cagle’s and was a homemaker. Mrs.
Edwards was preceded in death by her parents Lasselo and Lucille Wade Tennille
and a sister, Dorothy Heath.
Survivors include her husband, Girdie Edwards of Patmos, two daughters, Melissa
Addison and husband, Vince, of Patmos and Pam Stanbrough and husband, Jerry,
of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four grandchildren, Nicole Addison, Abby Addison,
Emma Stanbrough and Allyson Grace Stanbrough; a brother, Dennis Tennille and
wife, Marsha, of Patmos; sisters, Ailene Clowers of Blakely, Sara Jean Spurlock of
Patmos, Joyce Childs of Thomasville; special niece, Denise Tennille; and special
friends, Reba Boyer, Vada Jacobs, Wanda Hudgins, Sterling and Linda Long, and
