Pauline Berry Fussell
Services for Pauline Berry Fussell of Jacksonville were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4 at Blockhouse Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
Fussell, 81, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006. She was the daughter of the late Dewey and Mabelle Powell Berry. She was the widow of Joe Clifford Fussell.
A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, she was a member of Blockhouse Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Survivors include son, Buford (Luree) Fussell of Jacksonville; grandson Cliff (Kim) Fussell, also of Jacksonville; brothers and sisters, Marlin Berry of Bonaire, Junior Berry of Macon, Jean Waldrep of Warner Robins, and Venita Kelly of Thomaston.
The family appreciates contributions to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 4406, Macon, Ga., 31208.
Vaughn Funeral Home of McRae was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Tally
Services for Mary Tally of McRae were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3 at First Baptist Church in McRae with interment in Telfair Memorial Gardens.
The Rev. William Connell officiated.
Tally, 86, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006. She was the daughter of the late Edgar Sidney Tally and the late Katie Lee Simms Tally.
Born in Douglas, she was a retired X-ray technician from Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. After retirement, Tally moved to McRae, where she was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include sister and brother-in-law, Kate and Alan Vestal of McRae; brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Spencer and Frances Tally of Blackshear; brother, Ed Tally of Prescott, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were her nephews and the Deacons of First Baptist Church were honorary escort.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, McRae, Ga.
Townsend Brothers Funeral Home of Dublin was in charge of arrangements.

Frances Dezma Watson
Services Frances Dezma Watson of Alamo were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6 at Alamo Church of God with interment in the Scotland City Cemetery.
The Rev. Eschol Ryals and the Rev. Carolyn Warren officiated.
Watson, 54, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2006 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia. She was the daughter of the late Robert Joseph and Grace Inez Gay Warren.
She was a member of Alamo Church of God and was a homemaker. She was married to Hugh Watson of Alamo.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three children, Inez Reynolds, Mark Warren, and Dezman Cannon all of Alamo; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Ryals of Helena, and Sandra Herring of Glenwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Lowe’s Funeral Home of Helena was in charge of arrangements.

Johnny Lee Butts Sr.
Services for Johnny Lee Butts Sr. of Cadwell were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29 at Ebenezer Baptist Church of Chauncey with interment in the church cemetery.
Bishop Robert Cummings officiated.
Butts, 94, died Monday, July 24, 2006 at the Dodge County Hospital in Eastman. He was the son of the late Richard Butts and Lucy Butts, and was the widower of Quincey Mae Butts.
Survivors include children, Cleo (Olivia) Butts and Morgan Butts of Rochester, N.Y., Leo (Mary Ann) Butts of Cadwell, Bernice (Moses) Smith and Asilee (Bryant) Chess of Fairport, N.Y., Lindsey Butts of Winston-Salem, N.C., Gary (Janice) Butts of Macon, and Johnny (Pricilla) Butts Jr of Cadwell; sisters-in-law, Margaret Butts of Brooklyn N.Y., and Mary Stanley of Cadwell; daughter-in-law, Barbara Jean Butts; 29 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Forrest Lee Dyal III
Graveside services for Forrest Lee Dyal III of Helena were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 31 in the Oakgrove Cemetery in McRae.
Chaplain Rod Callahan officiated.
Dyal, 84, died Saturday, July 29, 2006. He was the son of the late Forrest Lee Dyal Jr. and Alice Kennemur Dyal. He was preceded in death by wives, Winnie Veal Dyal and Annie Joe Kirkley Dyal.
A native of Telfair County, where he lived most of his life, he was a retired supervisor with the Georgia Department of Transportation and a member of the McRae United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a former POW for nearly two years.
He is survived by daughters, Wanda (Richard) Lupo of Villa Rica, Janice Vaughn of Eastman, and Laura Turner of Milledgeville; brother, Ernest Dyal of McRae; sister, Barbara Robinson of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; and grandchildren, Neil Vaughn, Dr. Danny Vaughn, Jonathan Lupo, Jessica Vaughn, and Joe Turner.
The family appreciates contributions made to Hospice of Central Georgia, 3780 Eisenhower Pkwy, Macon, Ga., 31206.

George Howard Sr.
Services for George Howard Sr. of Hapeville will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29 at St. John Baptist Church of Lumber City with interment in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
The Rev. Joseph McLeod officiated.
Howard, 70, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006 in Fulton County. He was the son of the late Andrew Howard and Letha Tobler Howard. He was preceded in death by six siblings and two children.
He is survived by children, Sophia Brown of Lumber City, George (Elaine) Howard of Alamo, Carlton Howard of Miami, Fla., and Celestine (Winifred) Robinson of Lumber City; step-children, Cynthia Lott and Veronica (Freddie) Harmon, both of Hazlehurst;sisters, Laura
Bell Mitchell of Cocoa, Fla. and Juanita Moore of Raleigh, N.C.; aunt, Helen (Elder) Ellis of McRae; uncle, L.A. Tobler of Cocoa, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a devoted friend, George B. McRae, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Eva Faye Powell Douglas
Services for Eva Faye Powell Douglas of Macon,were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 26 in the Bridges Funeral Home Chapel in Gray with interment at Riverside Cemetery in Macon.
The Rev. Don Douglas, the Rev. Margaret Hall and the Rev. Gilbert Gann officiated.
Douglas, 89, died Sunday, July 23, 2006 in a Macon hospital. She was the daughter of the late John Oliver Powell and Nannie Maude Bridges Powell and the widow of Chester Douglas. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Earl and Adrian Powell.
She was born in Telfair County on October 3, 1916 and had lived in Macon for the past 63 years. She had been employed as a health care sitter and a Tupperware representative. Douglas was a member of Bethel Church of God, a former member of Napier Church of God and a charter member of Ell Street (now Gateway) Church of God.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Joyce Ramsey of Centerville, Doris Fowler of Jones County, Jewell and David Sangster of Twiggs County, Rosemary and Aubrey Hammack of Macon, and Opal and John Kitchens of Duluth; sons and daughter-in-law: Edsel Douglas of Jones County and Gerald and Sandra Douglas of Pahrump, Nev.; and 18 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
The family may be contacted at the residences of Brad Fowler at 339 Luke Smith Road in Gray, Rosemary Hammack at 704 Old Lundy Road in Macon or Lynn Jones at 471 Ray Drive in Macon.

Rev. Curtis Clifford Harvey Sr.
Services for Rev. Curtis Clifford Harvey Sr. of Alamo were held at noon Tuesday, July 18 at Spaulding Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Alamo with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Marvin Blue officiated.
Harvey, 60, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006 in Wheeler County. He was the son of the late J.W. Harvey and Alice Troup-Harvey, and was married to Linda McDuffie Harvey. He was preceded in death by siblings, Amos, Aaron, John Wesley, Larry and Eloise.
Born in Wheeler Co., he was a devoted and faithful member of the Spaulding Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he served in several capacities. For a number of years, he dedicated faithful service to the McRae Manor Nursing Home, Telfair County Hospital, Wheeler County Hospital, and Hazlehurst Mills. He was licensed to preach on Jan. 11, 1961 under the leadership of Rev. Nathaniel Beachum. He was ordained on April 10, 1963, and served as Youth Pastor of Spaulding Grove until such time as he was appointed missionary of the Montgomery Missionary Baptist Association. He continued to serve in that capacity as well as that of assistant pastor of Spaulding Grove until his death.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his sons, Curtis (Marsena), Reginald, and Keith Harvey, all of Charlotte, N.C.; and Kerry Harvey of Alamo; sisters, Marion Johnekins (Louishe) and Clara Harvey, both of Alamo, Beulah (Carlton) Hobbs of McRae; brothers, Roosevelt (Elsie) of Augusta, Willie and Ulysses of Alamo, and Lewis (Jackie) of Deland, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Virginia Harvey, Inez Harvey, Gladys Harvey, Gladys Coleman (Auther), and Jackie (Gerald) Burch; brothers-in-law, Jacob (Patricia) McDuffie; Gladys and Scott Burch; uncles, C.W. (Mozell) Harvey and O.Z. (Bethalene) Harvey; aunts, Inezzer Hall, Igloria Worthin, Inavis (Hilton) Turner, and Irene (James) Allen; three grandchildren, Christian, Ceidra, and Maya Harvey; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Rev. Larry Donald Harvey
Services for Rev. Larry Donald Harvey of Dublin were held at noon, Tuesday, July 18 at Spaulding Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Alamo with interment in the church cemetery.
The Rev. Marvin Blue officiated.
Harvey, 52, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006 in Dublin. He was the son of the late J.W. Harvey and Alice Troup-Harvey, and was married to Virginia Robinson Harvey. He was preceded in death by siblings, Amos, Aaron, John Wesley, Curtis and Eloise.
Born in Wheeler County, he was a member of the Spaulding Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was called into the ministry, and received his license to preach in October 1978, under the careful leadership of Bishop William Hollis and the late Rev. Nathaniel Beachum. He pastored other churches, but was the current pastor at the Mitchell Grove Baptist Church in Wrightsville for 21 years. He was also employed by Bassett Furniture for 21 years, and was currently employed by Botkin Lumber City for a year and a half.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Paul (Melissa) Harvey of Americus, Jarisus (April) Harvey and Via Harvey, both of Dublin; a special daughter, LeAnn (Ellis) Charleston of Dublin; brothers, Roosevelt (Elsie) Hudgens of Augusta, Willie and Ulysses Harvey, both of Alamo; sisters, Marion (Louishe) Johnekins and Clara Harvey, both of McRae; sisters-in-law, Inez Harvey, Gladys Harvey, Linda Harvey, Janie Robinson, and Minnie Daniels; brothers-in-law, James (Deloris) Quarterman, and Billy Quarterman, both of Dublin, Larry Quarterman of Warner Robins, Larry Daniels of Rentz; grandchildren, Keyon, Jahnerria, Paul Jr., Amon, Christan, and Aaliyah Harvey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
