Lee Jones, 76, of Dawsonville died Saturday December 8, 2007 at his residence following an extended illness.
A lifelong resident of Dawson County, Mr. Jones retired from commercial highrise construction after over 25 years of service. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Lumpkin County and was preceded in death by his parents, Pool and Edna Jones, sister, Jeannie Burt, brother, Carlton Ash and father in law and mother in law, Hubert and Onie Slaton.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Kathryn Jones, Dawsonville; son, Shawne Slaton, Dawsonville; sisters, Margie Saine, Dahlonega, Mildred Gaddis, Dawsonville, Ruby Barron, Dawsonville, Janet Pendergrass, Gainesville; brothers, Lonnie Jones, Dawsonville, Lloyd “Bug” Jones, Dawsonville, Cecil Jones, Dawsonville, Boyd “Bo” Jones, Dawsonville, and a number of other relatives.

Mrs. Imogene Powell, age 82 of Cumming, formerly of Duluth, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Samuel Powell, son Sam Powell, and son-in-law Homer Gilstrap. She was a charter member of Meadow Baptist Church and a longtime employee of Parson's in Duluth.
Survivors include her children Dottie Gilstrap of Suwanee, Dale and Tim Roberts of Madison, Web and Brenda Cole of Woodstock, and Peggy Powell of Cleveland; grandchildren Kimberly and Jay Bruce, Edna and Ralph Webb, Trish and Rob Francetich, Neil Jones, Nicole and Chris Dale, Sean Powell, Janet and Fred Henry and Jimmy and Sherry Cole; 10 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, numerous sisters and brothers-in-law; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Dale Johnson, 51, of Dawsonville died Wednesday December 12, 2007 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in Lowndes County, Mr. Johnson moved to Dawson County 22 years ago. For many years he was a home builder after which he worked as a long-distance truck driver. He was a U. S. Navy veteran and was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Johnson.
Surviving are his wife, Katrina Johnson, Dawsonville; children, Darrell and Julie Johnson, Cumming, Destinee McKinney, Alpharetta, Danniele and Ariston Tyler, Cumming, Alisha and Jeremy Hamilton, Cumming, Shelby Johnson, Dahlonega, Amy Johnson, Dawsonville; mother, Virdia Woodard, Yatesville; brothers, Glen Johnson, Brooks, GA, Alan Johnson, Seattle, WA, Larry Woodard, Alabama; and seven grandchildren.
At his request, Mr. Johnson was cremated and a private memorial service will be held later.

Blanche B. Young
Blanche B. Young, 94, of Dawsonville died Thursday March 27, 2008 following a period of declining health.
Born in Burley, Idaho, she had lived in California and Oklahoma before moving to Dawson County 24 years ago. A homemaker at her death, she had formerly worked in several fields but was very proud of her work in the ship yards during WW II. Mrs. Young was active in the Dawson County Senior Center and was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Young, her parents, sisters and brothers.
Surviving are her children, Billy Worthington, Heber, CA, Charlie and Barbara Young, Yukon, OK, Mary and Vince Ingram, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Verna Phillips, Nancy Worthington, Brian Belt, Candi Chappell, Billy Young, Tammy Tull, Chris Ingram and ten great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Monday March 31, 2008 at 2 o’clock at Christ Fellowship Church. Pastor Ricky Stepp will officiate.

Violet Anglin Fauscett, age 80, a life-long resident of Cumming, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 21, 2007. She was a devoted wife to Glenn. She liked to garden, sew and handcraft, and was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church and the Flower Garden group. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn J. Fauscett, parents Cicero Anglin and Azalee (Azzie) Anglin and a brother Leland Anglin.
Survivors include her niece Margie Brown of Marietta; sister-in-law Francis Anglin of Dawsonville; special friends Tim, Pam, Mark, Mallory and Drew Holtzclaw; caregivers Jim and Paula Kimberlin and a host of family and friends.

Wansley Mills Hughes, a resident of the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility, Abbeville, Alabama, a former resident of Cumming, GA, died Tuesday afternoon, August 21, 2007, in the health care facility. She was 74.

Ms. Hughes was born and reared in Cumming, GA, daughter of the late Thad Mills and Thelma Day Mills. She lived most of her lifetime in Cumming, GA before moving to Abbeville, Alabama in 2004. Ms. Hughes was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Cumming but recently attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Abbeville. She was a graduate of the Forsyth County High School where she was the class Valedictorian.

Thomas D. Price age 81 of Cumming passed away Wednesday October 17th, 2007. He was born in Arcadia, Florida on October 28, 1925 to Dayton and Willie Belle Price. He graduated from DeSota High School in 1943 and joined the Army Air Corps at age 17. He received his pilot’s wings and was commissioned 2nd
Lt. Toward the end of World War II. After the war, Tom remained in the reserves while attending and graduating from Georgia Tech University in 1949. He came back on active duty in 1951 and served during three wars before he retired as a Lt. Col. with 30 years of service. He was the recipient of many honors, ribbons and medals, throughout his career. After retirement, he taught advanced math to grades 4 through 8 at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. After making their home in Ft. Walton Beach for 33 years, Tom and Georgia moved to Cumming in 1998.
Tom is survived by his Wife of 51 years Georgia Price of Cumming, Son Larry of Winona, Minnesota, Son Tom of Tampa, Florida, Son Daniel of Ottawa, Ontario, Son John of Los Angeles, California, Grandsons Anthony, Jeffrey and Samuel Price, Granddaughters Marina and Amelia Price Sister Katherine Shirer, Sister-In-Law Della Lu Tyson, Daughters-In-Law Diana, Lana and Gwen Price.
