COLQUITT — Toby Martin Lee, 24, of Camilla died Wednesday, May 24, 2006, in Baker County.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with interment in Gordon Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Colquitt Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Eugene Carr, Jeremy Rentz, Robert Hayes, Glen Barfield, Alan Dollar and Gene Duke.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Carter, Joe Carr and Roy Carr.
Born July 28, 1981, in Dooly County, Mr. Lee was a carpenter. He was Baptist by faith. Mr. Lee loved to fish and the outdoors. He loved to laugh and just have fun.
Survivors include his mother, Delores Lee of Camilla; stepfather, Randy Lake of Macon; one sister, Angela L. McDuffie of Colquitt; twin brother, Jody B. Lee of Baker County; one niece, Brooklyn M. Darsey of Colquitt; one nephew, Jordon Darsey of Colquitt; great-aunt, Carol Llewellyn and husband, Wayne of Colquitt; aunt, Kathleen Lee of Plains and aunt, Lynn Brown and husband, Red, Uncle Damon Summerlin and wife, Ellen and a number of cousins, all of North Carolina. Toby was also survived by a close friend, Tim Tot of Mitchell County. Toby will be greatly missed by many in the "State of Baker."

DAWSON — Henry Elwood "Scooby Doo" Washington, 71, of 401 Flint Avenue, Albany, GA, died Wednesday, May 22, 2006, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2006, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Parrott, GA. The Rev. Lucious Mitchell, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Turner Chapel "Red Hill" Cemetery, Parrott, GA.
He attended the Virginia School System. He joined the United States Air Force in 1954 as a Grounds Radio Operator. Henry later worked as an engineering equipment operator. On August 31, 1995, he retired from the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany, GA, after 26 years of faithful service.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Goode and a brother, David Washington.
Henry leaves to cherish his memories, four daughters, Kim Pomier and Allison Washington, both of Richmond, VA, Karen Warthen and Michelle L. Washington, both of Albany, GA; one sister-in-law, Bernice Washington of Richmond, VA; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

ALBANY — The graveside funeral service of Jewell Laynette Hooks, 83, of Albany, who died Friday, June 2, 2006, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital was conducted Thursday, June 8, 2006, at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Hooks was a native of Sumter County and had resided in Albany most of her life. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Meldren Hooks.
Survivors include a son, Robert W. (Wayne) Hooks; a daughter, Wanda Churchwell and her husband, Allen; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Burial will be held Sunday at 9 a.m. at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens cemetery in Fort Myers, FL.
A native of Detroit, MI, Mr. Leppala had resided in Leesburg since 1987, moving from Fort Myers, FL. He was a supervisor and contractor with Michigan Homes and of the Lutheran faith. Mr. Leppala was preceded in death by his wife, Jenny Harrison Leppala, parents, Erro and Jenny Lagg Leppala and a sister, Joyce Bradley.
Survivors include his companion and caregiver of 12 years, Mary Egler of Leesburg; three sons, James "Jimmy" Leppala of Fort Myers, FL, Richard "Ricky" Leppala and his wife, Stacy of Oxford, FL, and Donald "Donny" Leppala and his wife, Cindy of Ocala, FL; a brother, Donald Leppala of Mesa, AZ; three granddaughters, Alisa Trombley of Fort Myers, FL, and Mia and Emily Leppala, both of Ocala, FL; two grandsons, Dalton and Hunter Leppala of Oxford, FL; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

ALBANY — Sarah Jefferson Ponder, 63, of 1804 S. Madison St. died Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at New Salem M.B. Church in Baconton with interment in Floral Memory Gardens in Albany. Rev. Edwards will officiate.
The season of life for Sarah began January 12, 1943, in Albany, Ga., where the seed for her beautiful life was planted by the late Payton and Polly Ann Hicks.
Sarah confessed her love for Christ at an early age and served faithfully at Arcadia Baptist Church in Albany, Ga., until she moved her membership to New Salem Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her demise.
The fulfillment and joy of her life were her family and numerous friends who God placed in her garden.
Sarah retired from Coats & Clark.
She leaves to honor and cherish her memories five children: Colonel Harriet Staten, Rickey, Karl and Frank Lewis and Victor (Sandra) Jefferson; three stepchildren, Ronald and Reginald Ponder and Donellia Ponder-Wingate; eleven grandchildren, Tunisia and Kenneth Staten, Santana and Natasha Norris, Tarnell Alex Starling, Victoria and Keimon Jefferson, Jasmine Williams, Kennedy K. Lewis, Sheneilor Parker and Jennifer Ward; one great-grandchild, Emonyei Ward; eight sisters, Claudette, Helen and Liz Hart, Victoria (James) McRae, Barbara Collins, Cynthia Jones, Melody Carter and Annell Atkins; six brothers, Paul, Larry, Sr. (Martha), William, Jr. and Steve Hart, Arthur Johnson and Leonard Cutts.
