DAWSON — Jasper (Jack) W. Harris, 93, began his final journey on February 21, 2007, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Born in Echols County, GA, on December 20, 1913. He was married
to the late Cleo Lois Wills Harris.
Mr. Harris was a veteran of WWII and the Korean war retiring from the U.S. Army in 1959 as a Captain. He served with the Civil Service at Sharpe Army Depot in Tracy, CA, from 1959 to 1972 as a Medical Equipment Repairman. Upon his retirement in 1972, he returned to Dawson where he worked with Highbaugh Hardware.
Mr. Harris is survived by his son, Jack R. Harris and his daughter-in-law, Diane Harris, both of Dawson. He was a member and a Deacon of the Calvary Baptist Church and a faithful servant of God. He was the proud grandparent of 7, a great- grandparent to 11 and the great- great-grandparent to 4. He will be sorely missed by all of his family. Friends and anyone who knew him will remember him as a an example of how a Christian should live life.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2007, at Calvary Baptist Church in Dawson with Rev. Chet Thomas and Rev. Carl E. Hartness officiating. iIntermentwill follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Born February 22, 1912, in Pike County, AL, Mrs. Lewis was educated in the Pike County, AL, School System. She was a housekeeper. Early in life, she was a member of Dunn Chapel AME Church in Troy, AL. Later in life, she was a member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Ashburn.
Survivors include three daughters, Roberta Smith of Haines City, FL, Mildred Kelly, Mary Ector, both of Detroit, MI; three sons, Robert Lewis of Chula, James Lewis, Jerry Lewis, both of Ashburn; 40 grandchildren; numerous great- grandchildren.

AMERICUS — Lilloise Lunsford Sheffield, 94, formerly of 216 South Bond Street, Plains, passed away on Tuesday morning, February 20, 2007, in Perfect Care.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Maranatha Baptist Church with services to follow in the church. The Rev. Jeff Summers will officiate, and interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery.
Born December 13, 1912, in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late Charles C. and Ethel Wise Lunsford. She graduated from Plains High School and the University of Georgia. She was a member of the Plains Baptist Church where she was married
to Y.T. Sheffield and where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She later became a member of Maranatha Baptist Church, also of Plains. She taught school in Plains and Leslie, and lived most of her life in Plains, recently becoming a resident of Perfect Care in Americus.
Survivors include her children, Tommy Sheffield of Durham, NC, and Charlene Sheffield of Bronwood; grandchildren, Marcia M. and Dan Boyd of Dawson, Michael C. Mallard of Beverly, MA, Cindy M. Thompson of Ooletewah, TN, Susan Sheffield and Katie Sheffield, both of Raleigh, NC; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Jessica Boyd of Albany, Allethea Boyd Brooks and Robert Brooks of Albany, Tommy Boyd of Jackson, TN, Kaylen Mallard and Amelia Mallard, both of Glouscester, MA, and Aaron Thompson, Avery Thompson and Annamarie Elizabeth Thompson, all of Ooltewah, TN. LUMPKIN — Willet Lamar Ammons, 88, of the Trotman Community in Stewart County, GA, passed Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at the Joe-Anne Burgin Nursing Home in Cuthbert, GA.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 8, 2007, at Sardis United Methodist Church cemetery in the Trotman Community near Lumpkin, GA with Reverend Lowell Layman officiating. Friends are invited to join the family at Smith Funeral Home in Richland, GA, Thursday morning from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for a time of viewing.
Mr. Ammons was born September 11, 1918, in Stewart County, GA, son of Willet Alexander and Lucile Harmon Ammons. He was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Elizabeth Pope Ammons; three infant children; a brother, Earl Ammons and a number of cousins. He was Methodist by faith and a long-time charter member of Sardis United Methodist Church. Mr. Ammons was a World War II veteran, having served in the European Theater of operation. He was retired from a lifetime of work on the Seaboard Coastline Railroad. Mr. Ammons was a humble and very quiet man. He certainly will be missed.
He is survived by a sister-in- law, Dessaree Ammons of Savannah, GA; a niece, Debbie Ammons Stegal of Atlanta, GA; a nephew, Ronnie Ammons of Savannah; and a number of cousins.

NEWTON — Flora Bridges Harrington Brown, 86, died Monday, March 5, 2007, in Newtown Square, PA, while recovering from a recent stroke.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2007, at Mother Easter Baptist Church with the Reverend Emory H. Hopkins officiating, assisted by Reverend David Oakes and Elder William Revill Sr. Burial will follow in Strong Memorial Gardens.

Although spending recent years away from Moultrie with her daughters, she was a longtime Moultrie resident. She was born on November 3, 1920, in Colquitt County to the late John Bridges and the late Eva Hancock Bridges. She owned and operated a beauty salon in Moultrie for 40 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands, Winburn Drew Harrington Sr. and the Rev. Morris Brown; her son, Captain Winburn Drew Harrington Jr.; eight brothers, Clifton Bridges, Roscoe Bridges Sr., Ellihue Bridges, Mirdis Bridges, Ruth Bridges, John Bridges Jr., Thomas Bridges and Mildry Bridges; three sisters, Irene Cain, Vivian Dennis and Earlie Anderson.
Survivors include seven daughters, Winifred Uyvonne Wright of Hyattsville, MD, Wilma Joyce Robinson and her husband, Theodis Robinson of Eagle, WI, Alice Grill Johnson and her husband, Michael Bernard Johnson Sr. of Annapolis, MD, Myrtis Laverne Walker and her husband, Bennie L.
