ALBANY — Cora Mae West Hall, 73, of 416 Hope St., Albany, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at her residence.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2007, at Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, 121 Creekside Dr., Leesburg, with interment in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Youngblood will officiate.
Born January 2, 1934, in Lee County, Mrs. Hall attended Lee County public schools. She was a production worker for M&M; Mars Candy Company and a school crossing guard. She was a member of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church. Mrs. Hall was also a member of several clubs and organizations.
Survivors include her husband, Sylvester Hall of Albany; children, Pinkie (John) Hutchins, Johnnie Hall, Jeannette (Frank) Lucas, Shirley (Larry) Clark, Sylvester (Janice) Hall Jr., Russell (Jackie) Hall, Marvin (Patricia) Hall, Pamela (Leonard) Bell, Debbie Jefferson and Reginald (Karen) Hall; one sister-in-law, Freddie Mae West; 21 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.
The remains of Mrs. Hall will be placed in the church Friday morning for viewing from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.

ALBANY — Karen Theresa Ingram, 50, of Albany died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2007, at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church with Father Finbarr P. Stanton officiating. iIntermentwill follow in Floral Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Ingram was born July 5, 1956, in Jacksonville, NC, to Vincent D. Koestler and Cecilia Carpenter Koestler. She graduated from Dougherty County High School in 1975 and attended Darton College. Karen Theresa Ingram worked for 27 years at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in which many of those years were spent in management in medical records. She attended St. Teresa’s Catholic Church and loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, writing poems, and loved to go to the beach.
Karen Theresa Ingram was survived by her loving mother, Cecilia Carpenter Koestler; two brothers, Kurt D. Koestler of Albany and Mark J. Koestler of Atlanta; one sister and a brother- in-law, Aleta and John Hinman of Macon; and one niece, Megan Hinman. She was preceded in death by her father, Vincent D. Koestler.
The Rosary will begin at 6 p.m. tonight with the family receiving friends after until 8 p.m. at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.

Born February 24, 2007, in Albany, GA. Daylen came into this world fighting, but God saw it was too much for him to bear so he called him back home to be with him.

ALBANY — The graveside funeral service of Robert George Thrower, 31, of 360 State Hwy. 377, Leesburg, GA, who died Monday, March 12, 2007, at his residence, will be conducted Friday, March 16, 2007, at 3 p.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Eugene Ramsey will officiate.
A native of Albany, Dougherty County, GA, Mr. Thrower had resided in Albany until moving to Leesburg eleven years ago. He was formerly employed with Cooper Tire Manufacturing and was Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, George Milton Branch.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Gillis Thrower; a son, Dylan Milton Thrower; two daughters, Tara Leigh Thrower and Tatum Nichole Thrower, all of Leesburg; his parents, Ralph C. Thrower III and Barbara Branch Thrower; a brother, Ralph C. Thrower, IV; a sister, Elizabeth Ann Moore, all of Terrell Co., GA; paternal grandparents, Ralph C. Thrower Jr. and Ann Thrower of Albany; maternal grandmother, Hilda Branch of Albany.

ALBANY — Margie Parrish York, 75, of 2821 Gillionville Road, born in Dothan, AL, lovingly known as “Maw” by her family and friends passed away at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Joey Cannon Richland, GA on March 13, 2007. Her funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Raleigh White Baptist Church. Rev. Billy Baxter and Brother Clifton Elmore will officiate. iIntermentwill follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Quinton Mock, Billy Etheredge, Buddy York, Joe Cannon, Brent Cannon, Ashley Montgomery, Michael Pittman and Jeffery Spillers. Ladies of her Sunday School Class at Raleigh White Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. York volunteered at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for eighteen years and received special recognition for her services. She loved helping patients, physicians and the staff until she was medically unable to do so.
She was a member of Raleigh White Baptist Church where she served in many capacities, sang in the choir and served in leadership position of WMU. Mrs. York enjoyed Gospel music, especially, The Dixie Echoes and she, her husband and friends spent many years traveling to gospel music performances.
Mrs. York was a lovely lady who received much joy and happiness from helping others. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, who enjoyed life and lived her life to serve Jesus and to help others in need. Mrs. York was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Que Parrish of Dothan, AL and her son-in-law, Norman Slater of Albany.
Survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, Kara York of Albany; three daughters, Bettie Etheredge and her husband, Bill of Leesburg, GA, Eddie Slater of Albany, GA and Patricia Cannon and her husband, Rev. ALBANY — Mary Joann Frazier, 71, of St. Mary’s, GA. died Wednesday April 11, 2007 at St. Mary’s Convalescent Care. Graveside services will be conducted Friday April 13, 2007 at 2 P.M. at Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Chris Turner will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service.
A native of Ben Hill Co., Ga., Mrs. Frazier had resided in St. Mary’s for the past two years, moving from Albany. She was retired registered nurse, a member of Putney Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Steven and Mary Odell Smith Jones.
Survivors include a son, Steven T. Frazier and his wife, Katherine of Marietta, GA, a daughter, Lita Frazier Gamble of St. Mary’s, GA and their father, Cecil T. Frazier of Albany and two grandson, Sean T. Frazier and Christopher R. Gamble.

Mary Thompkins Giles
ALBANY — Mary Thompkins Giles was born September 26, 1936, to the late Lucious Thompkins and Janie Witcher Thompkins in Albany, GA. She departed this life April 9, 2007, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with interment in Floral Memory Gardens. The Rev. Dr. Daniel Simmons, pastor, will officiate.
She began her education in the Dougherty County public schools where she attended Monroe High School. She received her Associate’s degree in Sociology from the College of the Desert in Twenty-nine Palms, CA. She graduated from Albany State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s in Elementary Education with an emphasis in math and science. She taught math and science at Carver Elementary School in the Terrell County School System for twenty years. At the end of her teaching career, she continued to serve in education by volunteering throughout Dougherty County Schools.
On May 7, 1955, she married
Daniel Giles, and to this union they were blessed with five children. She traveled extensively with her military husband and returned to Albany where she became an outstanding educator and community servant. She received numerous awards for her diligent community service. This servant was an effective member of the following clubs and organizations: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, The Arlington Club, The Armorettes, Albany State University Alumni Association Lifetime Member, The Albany City Federation of Colored Women, Inc., The American Legion Auxiliary, The Boys and Girls Club, The Dynamite Social Club, The Eastern Star, Girls, Inc., The Elks, Holiday Society, Jolly Jacks, NAACP Life member, Pinnocle Club, and The Ram Rooters. She was a faithful member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church for over sixty years where she was an active and devoted member of the Pastor’s Aide Club, Circle One, and General Missionary Society.
She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband, Daniel Giles and her children, Cheryl Giles of Albany, Austin Giles (Jacquelyn) of Albany, Linda Hille (Charles) of Leesburg, Dannette Giles of Lithonia, Rosemary Turner (Lamar) of Omaha, NE; and her adopted daughters, Patricia Clay of Albany and Mildred Blackshear of Huntsville, AL. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Austin, Jr., April, Adrian, Sadie, Erin and Trenton; three great- grandchildren, Ysrael, Amadia, and Avion. She leaves to mourn four loving siblings, Isaiah Thompkins of Albany, Paul Thompkins of Tampa, FL, Dorothy Reese of Albany and Dora Thompkins of Brandywine, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, and devoted family and friends.

SYLVESTER — Lucile (Cile) Greene James, 93, Sylvester died April 11, 2007, at her residence.

Born October 11, 1913, in Worth County, to George Milton Greene and Laura Hooker Greene, Mrs. James was a life long resident of Worth County. She was a homemaker who loved her many cats. Mrs. James was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, the W.M.U. and the Adult Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, V.I. (Zeke) James, March 22, 1994.
Survivors include her daughter, Laura Zethmayr of Sylvester; son, B.A. James (Lurlene) of Joseph City, AZ; four grandchildren, Karen Mosier (Don) of Joseph City, AZ, Rene’ Milner (Gary) of Sharpsburg, GA, Rhonda Stischer (David) of Longmont, CO, and Patsy Shirley of Leesburg; 16 great- grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren.

SYLVESTER — Eula Mae Nether Parker, 96, of 618 Shingler Little River Road, Shingler, died Friday, April 6, 2007, at 604 Shingler Little River Road, Shingler.
The funeral will be held at noon Saturday at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 217 S. Washington St., Albany with interment in Shepard Memorial Garden in Sylvester. The Rev. Arthur Gass will officiate.
Born December 1, 1910, in Marion County, GA, Mrs. Parker was educated in the Worth County Public School System. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Parker was a member of Jones Chapel AME Church in Sylvester where she served on the Pastor’s Aide Committee, Missionary Society, Allen Christian Endeavor League, Benevolent Fund Treasurer and Usher Board. She was the Master Chef in her family businesses.
Survivors include three sons, Grady Allen Parker, William Ollie Parker, both of West Palm Beach, FL, and Perry Parker of Sylvester; one brother, Jasper Nether of Sylvester; nine grandchildren; 25 great- grandchildren and four great- great-grandchildren.
