Preceding her in death were her parents, H.R. Reese and Rebecca Powell Reese and her husband, W. B. Johnson, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Rebecca Johnson of Bronwood.

SYLVESTER -- Mrs. Zollie Glenda Bozeman Brown, 73, of Sylvester died Monday April 22, 2013 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday April 24, 2013 at Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church with interment to follow in the Hillcrest cemetery with Rev. Mike Davis officiating.
Mrs. Brown was born on October 24, 1939 to the late Marion Wingard and Emma Lee Jones Bozeman in Worth County where she had lived most of her. She was a Sylvester High School graduate and attended continuing education classes at Darton College in Albany as well as a graduate of the Dougherty County Leadership Development Institute.
Mrs. Brown was an ordained Elder in the Trinity Presbyterian Church, member of the Choir, former Commissioner to the Synod of the South Atlantic on three occasions, and former Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Brown had served as Flood Relief Coordinator for the Flint River Presbytery during the flood of 1994. She was a long time volunteer worker and advocate for Mental Health and spent more than 15 years in volunteer service for the Worth County Mental Health Center. Mrs. Brown was a past Chair of the Worth County MH Center Advisory Council and Chair of the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Albany Area MH Center. Mrs. Brown served in various positions on the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network Board and presented legislative workshops at several Annual Conferences. She was a member of the Albany Area Community Service Board for four years, serving as Secretary for two years, a past member of the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Council and spent seven years on the Governor's Advisory Council for Mental Health. Mrs. Brown was recognized for her faithful Mental Health Service by several organizations including the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network, Worth County Board of Commissioners and the Georgia House of Representatives. Mrs. Brown served several years on the Worth County Board of Health, many of those years as Vice Chair.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel Blake Brown of Sylvester; daughter, Anne Brown Bradford (Wayne) of Byron Ga.; grandson, Robert Eunice of Atlanta Ga.; brother O'Neal Bozeman (Connie) of Tifton; brothers and sisters-in-law Bill Brown (Ruth) of Statesboro; Margaret B. Gilley (Cliff) of Bainbridge Ga. and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and former son-in-law Richard Eunice (Sharon) of Byron, a special friend, Sandra Cosby (Mike) of Doerun.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Reuben H. Neely.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 PM until service hour at Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church.

He has lived in the local area since 1999, moving here from Cordele, Ga. Mr. Brown was an Auto Technician by trade and enjoyed working with RC Cars. A native of Reidsville, GA, Mr. Rogers was an US Army veteran of World War II, serving in Burma and he had resided in Savannah, GA prior to moving to Albany, GA in 1964. He was a member of Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church and attended the Hancock Sunday School Class. Mr. Rogers was retired from General Electric Company where he was employed for thirty four years. After his retirement, he worked part time for Wetherbee Electric Company and CED Electric Company.
Mr. Rogers was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Solomon's Lodge 1 F&AM in Savannah, GA. He was a member of Hasan Shrine Center, an emeritus member of Albany Shrine Club and a member of the Royal Order of The Jesters, Court 159. Mr. Rogers was also a member of the Loyal Order of The Moose, Lodge 1285 and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2785.

SYLVESTER -- Mrs. Patricia "Patsy" Hancock Simpson, 80, of Doerun died Saturday April 20, 2013 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center after a declining health.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday April 24, 2013 at Union Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Donnie Bentley and Rev. Lonnie Gibson will officiate.
Mrs. Simpson was born on August 21, 1932 to the late Daniel Bazzle and Vera Bell Watson Hancock in Colquitt County and had lived in Worth County most of her life. A graduate of Sylvester High School, she retired from the Worth County Board of Education as a Paraprofessional and was a homemaker. Mrs. Simpson enjoyed gardening, growing daylilies, cooking 12 layer chocolate cakes and collecting antique glassware. She was a member of Union Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Director, Church Clerk and a Music Director.
Survivors include her son, Bradley Simpson of Doerun; sisters, Helen Powell (Orus) of Albany, Vivian Belcher of Albany, Shelby Jean Bass (Bill) of Tifton and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ira J. Simpson and, her two brothers, Jack Hancock and Ray Hancock.

Born October 4, 1941 in San Diego, CA, Mrs. Lime was the daughter of the late Otto Linsel and the late Marjorie Atkinson Linsel. She attended Porterfield United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She enjoyed keeping up with the news and loved singing especially that of her granddaughter, Hannah.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Anita and Glenn Sims of Albany and Debbie Lime of Las Vegas NV; grandchildren, Hannah, Angela, Joseph, Rosa and Cassandra; great-grandchildren, Hayley, Megan and Kayla.

Born February 10, 1923 in Mitchell County to Autry West Gore and James Gore, Sr., Mr. Gore was a member of First Baptist Church of Pelham and a charter member of Sherwood Baptist Church of Albany. In his early years, Mr. Gore worked for the Camilla Enterprise and Camilla post office. He was the former owner and operator of the Pelham Variety Works. For many years he worked for a national food company as a sales representative. Mr. Gore later worked for Flynt's Machine Shop where he retired as office manager. He was a past member of the Lions Club of Pelham and previous Pelham City Councilman, and was also active with the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed boating, woodworking, photography, and gardening but his free time was best spent with his beloved wife and family. Mr. Gore was preceded in death by his parents; a stepson Johnny Hughes; sisters, Pauline Lofton, Katherine Williams, and Joyce G. Morrell; brothers, James Gore, Jr. and Holcombe Gore.
