Ms. Louise A. Brinson, 85, passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Born in Mitchell County, Georgia on August 8, 1925, Ms. Brinson was the wife of the late Grady Brinson, Jr. and a member of Pelham Assembly of God. Born to the late Jim and Dollie Butler Anderson, Ms. Brinson was employed by Shiver Elementary School as a dietician for 23 years.
Funeral arrangements for Ms. Brinson will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Wolff and Rev. Brian Farmer will officiate. iIntermentwill be held in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Dane Merritt, Roger Brinson, Jeremiah Brinson, Mike Anderson, Sean Anderson, Heath Brinson, Joseph Brinson, and Adam Brinson. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the funeral home.
Ms. Brinson is survived by her children, Helen Merritt and husband, James, of Cairo, Linda Anderson and husband, Leon, of Cairo, Wayne Brinson and wife, Patty, of Pelham, Roger Brinson and wife, Glenda, of Pelham; siblings, Ollie Defeo Calbiano of Philadelphia, PA, Virginia Butler of Pelham, Shirley Otto of Iowa, Linda Calace of Long Island, NY, Amos Anderson of Pelham, Marie Hatfield of Monticello, and Raymond Anderson of Lakeland; grandchildren, Kim Taylor, Dane Merritt, Roger Brinson, Jeremiah Brinson, Mike Anderson, Sean Anderson, Heath Brinson, Joseph Brinson, and Adam Brinson; great grandchildren, Kyla Brinson, Joel Brinson, Nicholas Brinson, Cole Brinson, Kalyn Brinson, Cameron Brinson, Eryn Anderson, Ashton Anderson, Kristen Anderson and Kasey Taylor. Ms. Weida Singletary Raiford, of Meigs, GA, passed away at her home on Wednesday, June 15, 2011. She was 87 years old. Born in Thomas County, Georgia on October 9, 1923, Ms. Raiford was the daughter of the late Leonard and Lilie Ruth Surles Singletary. A homemaker and retired school teacher, Ms. Raiford was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Meigs.
Funeral services for Ms. Raiford will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church. Rev. Nath Fowler and Rev. Mangus Nixon will officiate. iIntermentwill be held in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Palmer, Autrey Brooks, Jim Singletary, Rodney Singletary, Preston Tucker, and Andy Allison. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. at Midway Church on Saturday, June 18, 2011.
Ms. Raiford is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Raiford of Meigs, GA.

Ms. Thelma Dann Jamerson Hamilton of Camilla, GA (formerly of Tallahassee, FL) passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2011 in Camilla. She was 86 years old. Born in Chicago, IL on August 3, 1924 to the late Earl Rexford and Sarah Salome Hanna Dann, Ms. Hamilton was a retired Customer Service Representative for Centel and a retired licensed funeral director. She was married
to the late B.Y. "Jimmie" Jamerson, Jr. and the late Eugene C. Hamilton. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Tallahassee, FL and a member at Abbeville First Baptist Church.
Funeral service for Ms. Hamilton will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Doug Hall will officiate at the service in Pelham. Burial will be held at 4:00 p.m. at Morningside cemetery in Rochelle, Georgia and Rev. James Faircloth & Rev. Hal Dickson will officiate the service at Morningside Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 4, 2011 from 6-8 p.m.

Rev. Jasper H. Sadler, 87, of Meigs, Georgia passed away on Friday, July 15, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Thomasville, Georgia. Born on September 7, 1923 in Grady County, Georgia to the late A. C. and Viola Hancock Sadler, he was married
to the late Dollie Bishop Sadler. Rev. Sadler was a member of Midway Baptist Church and pastored for several area churches as well. He was a retired clerk of 38 years for Hand Trading Company and was a WWII veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Smith-Spence American Legion Post #144. Survivors are his daughter, Peggie Creech and husband Allen, of Pelham, Georgia, grandchildren Jeanne Tucker, Donna Willis and husband Mike, Angie Sanders and husband Jimmy, all of Pelham, Georgia, great grandchildren Chris Tucker of Mobile, Alabama, Krystin and Taylor Sanders, Kelsie and Cody Willis, all of Pelham, Georgia, sisters Winona Bradley of Seffner, Florida, Verna Bailey of Pelham, Georgia, and brother Vernon Sadler of Ft. Worth, Texas. Rev. Sadler was preceded in death by his wife, Dollie Bishop Sadler, son James Sadler, parents A. C. and Viola Hancock Sadler, brothers Pryor Sadler, M. C. Sadler, Abram Sadler, Jr. and sister Naomi Hawley.

Deane Palmer Guice

Mrs. Deane Palmer Guice, age 76, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away at her residence in Pelham, GA on Saturday, October 08, 2011. Born in Mitchell County, GA on March 27, 1935 to the late Milton (Mitt) Palmer and Fay Powell Palmer. She was the oldest of five children. She was a retired bookkeeper, a member of the William T. Flynt Chapter #303 Order of Eastern Star. She was also a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Pelham.
Ms. Guice attended Pelham High School and graduated in 1953. She was married
in 1953 and traveled while having her first three children. After returning to Pelham, she worked for Judge Robert Culpepper, Collins Insurance Company and Pelham Phosphate Company. In 1971, she had twin boys and moved to Arlington, Georgia. While living in Arlington, she was a teachers aid in the library for the Calhoun County School system. In 1993, she moved back to Pelham, and relocated to the house she had always owned. Ms. Guice enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards, playing the piano and dancing.
Left to honor and cherish her memories are her five children and niece, Wesley “Wes” Humphries and wife, Gina, of Ocala, FL, Darlene Humphries of Pelham, GA, Denise Humphries Owens of Destin, FL, Monty Palmer Guice and wife, Stephanie of Grand Praire, TX, Merril Dean Guice and wife, Holly of Cartersville, GA. A precious and devoted niece, Caren Renner Craycraft of Cleveland, MO. Two Brothers: Lee Palmer and wife, Chestene, and Neil Palmer and wife, Rose. 15 Grandchildren: Stacie Woods, Davie Woods, Amanda Burgess, Dylan Humphries, Maggie Guice, Gracie Guice, Grant Guice, Betsie Guice, Caleb Guice, Laura Grace Guice, Benjamin Guice, Isabel Guice, Bree Renner, Tesa Renner, Brice Renner. Four Great Grandchildren: Morgan Knight, Shyanne Gibson, Laurie Gibson and Neil Gibson. Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Very dear friend, Charlene Lawhorne. A special caregiver, Hattie Crimley.
Preceded in death by her parents, Milton “Mitt” Palmer and Fay Powell Palmer, sister, Glenda Fay Palmer Craycraft and brother, Norris Edward Palmer.

Mr. Marvin McDonald, 97, of 2696 Old Pelham Road, Pelham, Georgia passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012 at his residence. Born in Morgan County, Georgia on November 3, 1914 to the late Charlie Fletcher and Susie Harper McDonald, he was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. He was a lifetime farmer and was retired from Blue Bird Body Company in Ft. Valley, Georgia. He was married
to Lorene Reynolds Dawson McDonald. He is survived by wife Lorene Reynolds Dawson McDonald of Pelham, Georgia, daughter Flossie Chapman of Byron, Georgia, son Anthony M. McDonald and wife, Marie Carol, of Eloy, Arizona, grandchildren Alise Drawhorn, Geoffrey Chapman, Timothy Chapman, Tara Helms, Carla Woodward, Anthony M. McDonald, Jr., Kimberly M. Taylor and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two former wives, one child, parents and eight siblings. Visitation for the Pelham area will be held on Monday, March 19, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church and will be officiated by Rev. Doug Hall. Born on January 1, 1939 to the late Clyde Hansel and Ruth Bynum Walker, he was a retired self-employed lawn care maintenance manager. He was a member of the Meigs United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home in Pelham, Georgia. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010 graveside at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Billy Smith will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Robby Tillery, Jeremy Herndon, Johnny Herndon, Todd Edwards, Jerry Lee Edwards, and Durwood Collins. iIntermentwill be in Meigs Sunset Cemetery.
Mr. Walker is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Hansel and Ruth Bynum Walker, brothers Thomas H. Walker, James I. Walker and Harry Lee Walker.
