Annie Ruth Woodall
Services for Annie Ruth Woodall of Jacksonville were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5 in the chapel at Lowe’s Funeral Home with interment at Blockhouse Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Rev. Gary Edge officiated.
Woodall, 75, died Friday, Nov, 3, 2006 in Springfield. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Katherine Fussell Cravey of Telfair County.
She was retired from McRae Manor Nursing Home.
Survivors include three children, Zelia McCullough of Springfield, Betty Evans of Macon and John Henry Woodall Jr. of Forsyth; two sisters, Inell Powell of Macon and Inez Jones Powell of Hazlehurst; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Lowe’s Funeral Home of Helena was in charge of arrangements.

Brenda Gale Seagraves Brue
Services for Brenda Gale Seagraves Brue of Lumber City were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at Fishing Creek Baptist Church in Lumber City with interment in the church cemetery.
Brue, 62, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006 following a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of Velma Conley Seagraves and the late Dewitt Seagraves of Bibb County, and was married to William C. Brue of Lumber City. She was preceded in death by a sister, Janine Simmons.
She was a beloved schoolteacher at Ocmulgee Academy for seventeen years and was a member of Fishing Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother and husband, survivors include children, Connie Floyd of Lumber City, David and Becky Brue of Baxley, Wesley and Wendi Brue of McRae, and Tonya and Jamie Bryant of Ft. Lee, Va.; brother, Edward and Jackie Seagraves of Blairsville; sister, Peggy and Harold Burton of Monroe; and two grandchildren, Ashley Brue of Lumber City and Riley Bryant of Ft. Lee, Va.
Vaughn Funeral Home of McRae was in charge of arrangements.

Marion B. ‘Peggy’ Crawford
Services for Marion B. “Peggy” Crawford of Helena were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30 in the chapel at Lowe’s Funeral Home with interment in the Stuckey Baptist Church Cemetery in Glenwood.
The Rev. Roy Grimes, the Rev Howard Hart and Terry Cook officiated.
Crawford, 84, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2006 at McRae Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Norman and Tommie Brown of Wheeler County, and was married to Murray Crawford, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her were sister, Vastee B. O’Quinn and son-in-law, Razz Davis.
She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, who was a retired CNA at McRae Manor Nursing Home. She retired after 31 years of loyal and dedicated service. She was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include daughters, Ann Davis of Helena and Judy (Randall) Johnson of Glenwood; granddaughters, Amy (Chris) Osborne of Vidalia and Tina (Andre) Burgess of Hinesville; two foster grandsons, David and Dylan Lanum; two great-granddaughters, Emily and Morgan Osborne; sisters, Aline Polk, Vergie Mae Lancaster of Savannah, Hazel Coleman of Helena, and Moinea Demirgian of Miami, Fla.
Lowe’s Funeral Home of Helena was in charge of arrangements.

James S. Foster
Services for James S. Foster of McRae were held at at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1 in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with interment in the Oakgrove Cemetery.
Foster, 62, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2006. He was the son of the late Ralph M. and Mamie Stanley Foster and was married to Janet Dean Foster. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Foster.
A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, he attended New Hope Baptist Church and was a self-employed mechanic.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughters, Rhonda and Charles Brown of Milan and Julia and Wes Evans of Eastman; brothers, Charles S. Foster, Harold Foster and Frank Foster, all of McRae; and grandchildren, Richard Brown, Heath Brown, Janna Anderson, Nicholas Evans and Wyatt Evans.
Vaughn Funeral Home of McRae was charge of arrangements.

William Charles Maloy
A memorial service for William Charles Maloy of Savannah was held Saturday, Oct. 28 in the Sharon Church Cemetery in Rhine.
Maloy, 71, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006 in Savannah following along illness. He was married to Helene Maloy. Dr. Maloy was born in Rhine January 14, 1935.
He was educated in Georgia public schools and graduated from Mercer University 1956 and Medical College of Ga. 1961. After serving as General Medical Officer with the US Army in Paris, France, 1962-1964, he received his fellowship in cardiopulmonary disease from Medical College of VA and fellowship in cardiology at University of London, London, England (1968). He was appointed Assistant Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at Medical University of SC and the VA Hospital, Charleston, S.C. (1967).
From 1972 to 1999, Dr. Maloy served as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) with Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta. In 1993 he became copartner in the formation of the Atlanta Heart and Lung Clinic and established a cardiovascular laboratory at Ga. Baptist Medical Center, Atlanta. Dr. Maloy was one of the forerunners of pacemaker surgery. In addition to his numerous pacemaker implants, he performed Georgia’s first nuclear pacemaker implantation and established the first transtelephonic pacemaker monitoring Clinic in Georgia. His interest in pacemakers resulted in the formation of the International Association of Pacemaker and Heart Patients. The Association’s educational publication PULSE was distributed worldwide and read by both patients and physicians. In the early 1980s, he was instrumental in the development of a new heart valve with Duromedics, Inc., and was involved with the European marketing of the valve. From 1982 to 2003, he served as Consultant Cardiologist for Cardio-Analysis, Inc. In 1993 he retired from private practice and worked with the Disability Adjudication Services. Dr. Maloy moved to Savannah in 1999.
Survivors include his two daughters, Katheryn Doran of New York, N.Y. and Molly Clay of Atlanta, and two grandchildren, Alexander Clay VI and Aiden Doran.
Contributions may be made to either Hospice Atlanta or National Alzheimers Association.

Deborah Callaway McDaniel
Services for Deborah Callaway McDaniel of Eastman were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24 in the Southerland Chapel with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in McRae.
McDaniel died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006 at Dodge County Hospital in Eastman. She was the daughter of the late George and Hilda Thigpen Callaway. She was preceded in death by son, Leonard McDaniel and brother, Willard Callaway.
Survivors include her sons, Dwayne McDaniel of Milan and Brian McDaniel of Eastman; sister, Diane Callaway of Eastman; brother, Don Callaway of Scotland; three grandchildren, Carter, Cain and J.J. McDaniel; and several nieces and nephews.
Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home of Eastman was in charge of arrangements.

John M. Sheffield
Services for John M. Sheffield of Warner Robins were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1 at Sweet Home Baptist Church in Milan.
The Rev. Henry Batts officiated.
Sheffield, 59, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2006. He was the son of the late Luther A. and Birdie Dykes Sheffield.
Born on June 27, 1947, he was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Vietnam. He was owner of Sheffield Expert Paint Services for 35 years. His company was the original painter of Lake Vista Apartments as well as several other large developments in the Central Georgia area.
Survivors include his daughter, Violet Dawn Martin (Zack) of Warner Robins; and granddaughter, Janie Lucianna Martin of Warner Robins.

Eddie Maurice Vaughn Sr.
Services for Eddie Maurice Vaughn Sr. of Rhine were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26 at Sharon Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
Vaughn, 79, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006 following a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Joe Cleveland and Nannie Rawlins Vaughn, and was married to Waunelle Cravey Vaughn of Rhine.
A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Vaughn was a farmer and a respected advisor for the local community on farming issues.
In addition to his wife of 59 years, survivors include children, Jeanelle Jones, Eddie Maurice Vaughn Jr., and Joe Tom Vaughn, all of Rhine, and Wanda Moore of Hawkinsville; sister, Mattie Lou Cravey of Milan; grandchildren, Neil Vaughn, Dr. Danny M. Vaughn , Jessica Vaughn, Wendy Moore, and Justin Moore; and great-granddaughter, Jayci Moore.

Floy Bell White
Services for Floy Bell White of Cedar Grove were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25 at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Cedar Grove with interment in the church cemetery.
Pastor Scott Davidson and Evangelist Jerry Cottrell officiated. Songs were sung by Elizabeth and Grace Nelms, while grandsons served as pallbearers.
White, 79, died Sunday, Oct 22, 2006. She was the daughter of Geromie Brown-Clark, and was married to the late Gerrell P. White, whom she was married to for 35 years. In addition, she was preceded in death by son, Pastor Thomas E. White; son-in-law, Waymon Widener; two grandchildren, Lee and Lore White; and one brother, Lowell B. “Shorty” McGowan.
Though born in Wheeler County, the Cedar Grove Community was her home for most of her life. She was a retired seamstress, and her love of sewing led her to making old-fashioned bonnets. Each bonnet sold has a prayer cloth inside. This ministry touched more people than she ever imagined. Because of her love of people, the Gospel was spread to 12 states, England and Germany. She was the Mother and last remaining founder of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Cedar Grove. She served the Lord there as the wife of the pastor, and then became the mother of a pastor and finally the grandmother of a pastor.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Clinton and Carol White of Cedar Grove, Gloria White-Ennis of Cedar Grove, Ashley and Kay Widener of Chauncey, Faye Widener of Cedar Grove, and Ray and Penny White of Alamo; 14 grandchildren, Rita Rogers, Carolann Crawford, Phillip White, Mark Fields, Sara Widener-Harper, Jada White-Davidson, Bobby Widener, Clint White, Jason White, Preston Widener, Jenny White, Chris Widener, Jonathan White and Melissa Widener; 29 great-grandchildren, and was expecting her first great-great-grandchild in May. She also leaves one brother and three sisters, Wade Clark of Jasper, Tennessee, Maudell White, Evelyn Fountain and Barbara Clark, all of Mt. Vernon.

William Williams
Services for William Williams of Eastman were held at 2 p.m Thursday, Oct. 26 at Towns Funeral Home in Alamo with interment in the Alamo City Cemetery.
Williams died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006 in the Dodge County Hospital.
Survivors include his sisters, Betty Champion and Mary Champion, both of Alamo, and Teri Long of Dalton; brothers, Otis Williams Jr., also of Alamo, and Monty Williams of Eastman; and 26 nieces and nephews.
Towns Funeral Home of Alamo was in charge of arrangements.
