Jimmy Anderson
Jimmy Anderson, age 67, of Nicholls, passed away Thursday night, December 29, 2005 at his residence after an extended illness.
He was a native of Ware County, son of the late John S. Anderson and Cleo Lingenfelter Anderson and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Bobbie Sue Whittle Anderson. Jimmy was a retired truck driver and a member of Saginaw Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Anna Faye Harrell Anderson of Nicholls; three sons, Michael Wade Anderson and wife Judy, Jimmy Darryl Anderson, and John S. Anderson and wife Anita, all of Nicholls; a daughter, Deborah Ann Anderson of Nicholls and two brothers, Wilbert Anderson and wife Janelle of Nicholls and Fred Anderson and wife Jualinda of Nicholls. Also 12 grandchildren survive.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 1, 2006 from Saginaw Baptist Church with Rev. L.G. Aldridge and Rev. Jerry Campbell officiating. iIntermentfollowed in Meeks cemetery in Nicholls.
Active pallbearers were Kevin and Brinson Lingenfelter, Donnie and Mickey Anderson, James, Jordan and Ricky Hersey. Hugh Braddy
Hugh Braddy, age 76, of Alma, passed away Wednesday night, December 28, 2005 at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness.
He was a native of Montgomery, Co. son of the late Estus D. Braddy and Leila Beatty Braddy, had lived in Statesboro for 26 years and had lived in Alma since 1999. He was a member of Merrywood Baptist Church and had retired from ITT Grinnell after 18 years of employment.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Evans Braddy of Alma; four sons, Randy Braddy, Sr. and wife Sue of Alma, David Braddy of Savannah, Rick Braddy and wife Sharon of Statesboro and Dale Braddy and wife Theresa of Lilburn, Georgia; one daughter, Cathy Deal and husband Ken of Statesboro and one brother, Wendell Braddy of Douglas. Also 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren survive.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 31, 2005 from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Max Alderman officiating. iIntermentfollowed in The Braddy cemetery in Montgomery, County.
Active pallbearers were Randy, Jr., Matthew and Christopher Braddy, Kevin Deal, Bryan Ursrey and Wayne Williams. All those in attendance were considered as honorary escorts.

Ray Franklin Faulkenberry
Ray Franklin Faulkenberry, 72 or Kershaw, South Carolina, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2005, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston after a lengthy illness.
Born on June 5, 1933, in Kershaw, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Hoyt and Jeanette Thompson Faulkenberry. He graduated from Berry College, Rome, Georgia, and Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia.
He served his country in Germany in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957. Mr. Faulkenberry worked as a consultant with Southwestern Publishing Company, publishers of accounting and business texts. He then was Business Manager and Finacial Aid Manager of University of South Carolina at Lancaster and taught accounting part-time for 30 years. Mr. Faulkenberry practiced as a certified public accountant. He was appointed by the late Governor Carroll Campbell, Jr. to the South Carolina Accountancy Board for two terms.
Mr. Faulkenberry served on the boards of Springs Memorial Hospital, Lancaster County Economic Development Corporation, Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce, Lancaster County Convalescent Home and Lancaster County Council on Aging. Mr. Faulkenberry was a charter member of the Kershaw Rotary Club in which he was chosen as a Paul Harris Fellow, and had previously been a member of the Lancaster Rotary Club for 20 years. He served on the Board of Directors of Wachovia Bank from 1976 to 2004 and also served on the Board of Directors of the Kershaw Chamber of Commerce and was past president. He was chosen “Citizen of the Year”. In February, 2005 for the Chamber of Commerce. He was an active member of Kershaw First Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, Sunday School teacher for more than 20 years of the Fallaw Sunday School Class and was currently serving as church treasurer. He also served on the building committee for the new Ministry Center which was completed in 2003.
Mr. Faulkenberry was involved in numerous community projects such as Kershaw Christmas Parade and Kershaw Spring-A-Thon.
He was especially proud of a Rotary Club project that involved tutoring students at the Kershaw Elementary School.
Surviving are his wife, Roslyn Glosson Faulkenberry, two daughters, Dr. Ann (Dr. Charles) Drummond of Birmingham, Alabama and Ramona (Al) Poston of Kershaw, South Carolina and four grandchildren, Chloe Drummond, Sean Drummond, Joseph Poston and Kristen Poston Mayer. He is also survived by his sister, Myrtis Faulkenberry Sowell of Kershaw and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members whom he loved dearly.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 22, 2005 in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church in South Carolina with Rev. Bryant D. Fersner officiating. Burial followed in the Kershaw City Cemetery.

George W. Anderson
George W. Anderson, age 55 of Douglas, Georgia passed away December 21, 2005 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas after a short illness.
George was the son of the late Elisha Anderson and Miriam Douglas Anderson, husband of the late Charity Rowland Anderson and was also preceded in death by one son, Little William Anderson, one sister, Cora Lee Anderson and one brother, Henry Anderson.
Survivors include four brothers, Bobby Lee Anderson of Douglas, Elisha Anderson, Jr. and J.D. Anderson, both of Nicholls and Alex Anderson of Waycross and two sisters, Rosa Lee Leggett of Baxley and Janice Greer of Nicholls.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 23, 2005 from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Victor Gilbert officiating. iIntermentfollowed in the Anderson Family Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Ira Leggett, Carlos Leggett, John Leggett, Jeffery Greer, Donald Greer and James Hartley. All those in attendance were considered honorary escorts.

Lou Nell Kirkland
Lou Nell Kirkland, born April 3, 1918, passed away early Sunday, December 25, 2005 in Orlando after an extended illness.
She was a native of Coffee County, daughter of the late Thomas Jesse Meeks and Eliza Ann Lott Meeks and was wife of the late James Wiley Kirkland (J.W.) . Lou Nell was also preceded in death by a son, Wiley Meeks Kirkland; two brothers, Dan and Chester Meeks and a sister, Beatrice Meeks Wade.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Barbara Lane Kirkland of Orlando, a granddaughter, Virginia Lane Kirkland Kinney of Orlando, two great-grandchildren, Ansley Denton and Gunnar Kinney, both of Orlando, a niece, Jonnie Meeks Hancock of Alma and two great nephews, Ricky and Damon Taylor, both of Alma. Also several other friends and family members survive.
Funeral services was held Tuesday, December 27, 2005 from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home. iIntermentfollowed in Roberts cemetery in Nicholls with Rev. Jerry Kimbel officiating.

Darrell A. Tomlinson
Darrell A. Tomlinson, age 52 of Alma, passed away suddenly Tuesday morning, December 13, 2005.
He was a native of Echols County but had lived in Alma since 1986. Darrell was a long time business man, owner and operator of Computer Care in Alma. He was a member of First Community Church and Masonic Lodge 56, where he was Worshipful Master and District Director of Leadership Development. He was also a member of The Borderline band for many years. He had served in the U.S. Army for eight years during the Vietnam Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Smith Tomlinson of Alma; his parents, W.C. “Dub” Tomlinson and Lula B. Nicholls Tomlinson of Echols County; mother-in-law, Leola Wade Smith of Alma; a son, Al Boatright and wife Kathy of Pierce County; three daughters, Stacy Rene’ Barrett of Kansas, Ginger Jordan and husband Steve and Traci L. Martin and husband Robert, all of Alma; a brother, Candler Tomlinson and wife Barbara of Echols County; a sister, Patricia Tomlinson of Echols County and 10 grandchildren, Grant, Ashlyn and Alex Jordan of Alma, Bryce and Malori Martin of Alma, Whitney and Rhett Boatright of Pierce County, Branden, Chase and Madison Tomlinson Favorite uncle of Tyler, Payton, Will and Jason Tomlinson.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 16, 2005 at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Poston, Rev. R.B. Gaskin and a personal Eulogy by Obie Good. Graveside Masonic Rites were conducted by Lodge #56.
Active pallbearers were Cam and Derrin Wheeler, Grant Jordan, Tyler Tomlinson, Windell and Ronnie Smith. Honorary escorts were members of Masonic Lodge #56, Steve Lee, Rep. Tommy Smith, Diane Bennett, A.C. Wade, Mike Hewitt, Donnie and Brian Dyal.

Beatrice Lee Hinman
Beatrice Lee Hinman, age 85 of 2803 Wilcox Ct., Albany, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2005 at her residence.
A native of Alma, Georgia, Mrs. Hinman had resided in Albany since 1948 moving from Baconton. She was a homemaker, a self-employed realtor and property owner and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James E. (Spike) Hinman, Jr. of Albany; a daughter and her husband, Norma Jean and James Paul Loucks of Albany; a stepson and his wife, John E. Hinman and Aleta of Macon; a stepdaughter and her husband, Tamara Siler and John of Atlanta; two sisters, Juanita Gooden and Margaret Thornton, both of Alma; two grandchildren, Robin Michelle Buckley and Brian Wesley Granberry and his wife Lisa and two great-granddaughters, Rebekah Jean Granberry and Cailee Brianne Granberry.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald McDaniel and Rev. Jim Loucks officiating. iIntermentfollowed at Pine Grove Methodist Church cemetery in Alma, Georgia.

James Drakelee Taylor
James Drakelee Taylor of Alma passed away November 22, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.
Survivors include his parents, father, Bryant Crews and his mother, Ashley Taylor.
Graveside services were held Sunday, November 27, 2005 at Wesley Chapel Wolfpit Church cemetery with Marty Anderson officiating.

Betty Ann Barnes
Betty Ann Barnes White, age 69 of Nicholls, Georgia passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2005 at Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas Georgia after an extended illness.
Mrs. White, a native of Ware County, Georgia was born August 24, 1936, daughter of the late Thomas Haskell and Mary Bell Arnold Barnes. She was a homemaker, a retired Nicholls/ Coffee County School System teacher assistant and the widow of the late Lester Columbus White.
Survivors include daughter, Staci Ann Mullins of Nicholls; sons, Steve C. White of Nicholls Stanley R. White of Nicholls and Stuart L. White of Douglas; sister, Kathryn Graham of Waycross; brothers, Edward Barnes of Waycross, Paul Barnes of Hazlehurst, Bill Barnes of Vidalia, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and interment were held Saturday, December 17, 2005, at the Meeks cemetery near Nicholls Georgia with Rev. Harold Barnes officiating.
Active pallbearers were Allen Graham, Wayne Graham, Steve White, Greg White, Christopher White and Jeffery White.

Robby Edward Cothern
Robby Edward Cothern, age 24 of Alma, passed away Sunday morning, December 11, 2005 in Coffee County from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.
He was a native of Bacon County and was employed with Pike Electric, Inc. Survivors include his parents, Grady Lee Cothern and Delane Carter Cothern of Alma; a brother, Jeffrey (Bodeen) Cothern and wife Andrea of Baxley; a sister, Pamela Moore and husband Brian of Alma; four nephews, Jordan, Joshua, Nicholas and Mason and two nieces, Sierra and Maura. He also leaves behind a special life long friend and buddy, Luke Herrington.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Tanner, Rev. Roger Carter and Rev. Hal Jeffcoat officiating. iIntermentfollowed in the church cemetery.
