James H. Johnson
Rev. James H. Johnson, Sr., age 63, of Nicholls, passed suddenly Sunday September 3, 2006 in the V A Hospital in Gainesville Florida. He was native of Hardee County, Florida but had lived in Coffee County for the past fifteen months. James is son of the late Robert James Johnson.
He was retired from the Ministry, served in the U. S. Marines during the Vietnam War where he received the Vietnamese Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Viet-Nam Campagine Medal and a Purple Heart. Survivors include his wife; Evelyn Louise Starnes Johnson of Nicholls. His Mother and step Father, Mary Lois Staton Johnson Wyckoff and Don Wyckoff of Bowling Green, Florida. Two sons; James (Jimmy) H. Johnson, Jr. and Paul E. Johnson and wife Alejandra all of Nicholls. One daughter; Tammy Adams and husband Charlie of Nicholls. One brother; Eugene Johnson of Wauchula, Florida Two sisters; Virginia Oden of Wauchula, Florida, and Christine Harrel of Bowling Green, Florida. Four grandchildren, Kevin and Alexis Adams, Chasity and Paul Johnson, Jr. all of Nicholls.
Funeral services will be held Thursday September 7, 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Dooley Staton, Rev. Ronnie Faulkner and Rev. David Capp officiating. iIntermentwill follow in Meeks Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be; Kenneth and Wade Oden, Charlie Adams, Willard Green, Rev. Roger Carter and Rev. Denny Music. All those in attendance will be considered honorary escorts.

Sandra Dianne Parker
Sandra Dianne Parker, age 51, of Nicholls, passed late Friday night September 1, 2006 at the Coffee Regional Hospital. She was a native of Coffee County and daughter of the late Hubert Waters and Christine Knowles. Dianne attended Saginaw Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; Billy Parker of Nicholls. Stepmother; Bobbie Waters of Nicholls. Special friends; Roy and Kathy Waldroup, Mary and Larry Turner, Reuben and Mamie Woodbury. Aunt and Uncle Quitman and Clara Lee of Beach, Georgia, and several nieces and nephews survive. Also sadly missed and loved by, Gregory and Leah Turner.
Funeral services were held Monday September 4, at Saginaw Baptist Church with Rev. L. G. Aldridge, Rev. Sidney Thomas and Rev. Pet Hayes officiating. iIntermentfollowed in Roberts Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were; Andre Brinson, Shane Parker, Lamar Parker, Jr., Jimmy Lee, Rueben Woodbury and Harold Frazier. All those in attendance were considered honorary escorts.

Addie Louis Bagley Wolfe
Addie Louise Bagley Wolfe, 92, of Lakeland passed away Tuesday evening, August 23, 2006, at the Louis Smith Hospital in Lakeland.
Born in Bacon County, she had lived in Waycross for many years before moving to Homerville in 2001 and then Lakeland in December 2005. She had been a seamstress and was a member of the Salem Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late John Henderson and Fannie Meeks Bagley and was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin W. Wolfe; two daughters, Gail Waters and Mesheldeon Wolfe and a son, Waldon Wolfe.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Melba and Jake Davis and Brenda and Nathaniel Davis, all of Hahira, Audrey and Kim Cummin, Tri Ridge, KY and Martie and Mike Sansone, Portland, ME; two sons an daughters-in-law, Roy and Susan Wolfe and Don and Sharon Wolfe, all of Blackshear; two sisters, Odessa Street, Nicholls and Mary Joiner, Guyton; a brother, Odell Bagley, Nicholls; 33 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 25, from the Pearson-Treadwell Chapel.

Huvis Ashley Peacock
Huvis A. (Pappy) Peacock, age 86, of LaGrange passed away, August 23, 2006 at Hospice LaGrange. He was born March 23, 1920 in Alma, Ga., son of the late George Washington Peacock and Louella Deen Peacock. He had lived in Alma most of his life until moving to LaGrange in 1997. He was a member of Alma United Methodist Church where he was also a member of the Men’s Bible Class. He attended First United Methodist Church of LaGrange. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served in World War II during the European Theatre and was the recipient of the Purple Heart award. He was retired from Cohen’s of Alma as the retail manager.
Survivors include his daughter and son- in- law, Paige P. and Murray L. Schine of LaGrange; one grandson, Ashley M. Schine of Fayetteville, Ga.; two sisters, Doris Simmons of Atlanta, Ga. and Eris Dixon of Alma, Ga; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Friday, August 25, 2006 at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange Chapel with Dr. Harold Lawrence and Rev. Dane Wagner officiating. Funeral services were also held Saturday August 26, 2006 from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home, with Rev. Ed Deen and Rev. Bill Dupreee officiating.

John D. Taylor
John D. Taylor, age 44, of Alma, passed away Thursday morning, August 24, at the Bacon County Hospital after a short illness. He was a native of Bacon County; son of the late Curtis Taylor, Sr. and Margaret Oldenburg Taylor Christmas.
Little John was a 1982 Graduate of Bacon County High School and attended Roosevelt Institute in Warm Springs, Georgia and was a member of the Alma United Methodist Church. Survivors include two brothers; Curtis Taylor, Jr. of Alma and Jason Christmas of Blackshear; a nephew, Anthony Taylor of West Green; four nieces, Caitlin Taylor of Alma, Erin and Anna Christmas both of Blackshear and Lizzie Taylor of West Green.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 27, from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home, with Rev. Buddy Whatley and Rev. Ed Deen officiating. iIntermentfollowed in Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Ruthie Graham Linder, 67, of 1201 S. First Street, H-7-5 Briarwood Apartments, Jesup, Georgia, passed away Saturday evening, August 26, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Marta Lynn Lemacks
Marta Lynn Lemacks, age 64, of Church St. Alma; passed way, suddenly Saturday night August 26, 2006 at the Bacon County Hospital. She was native of Bacon County and daughter of the late A. J. Lemack, Sr.
Survivors include her mother, Irene Nipper Lemacks of Alma. One brother, A. J. Lemacks, Jr. and wife Deanne of Stockbridge, six sisters; Nell Anderson and husband Andy, Gail Gunn and husband Bobby all of Lawrenceville. Annette Joyner and husband Larry of Metter, Rita Pierce of Panama City, Florida, Pat Stoneand husband Richard of Waycross and Joann Williams and husband Buster of Alma. Special friends, Wannell Parker and Tom Newton. Also, 13 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at Wesley Chapel Church on Highway 203 with Rev. Billy Floyd and Rev. Mark Barth officiating. iIntermentwill followed in the church cemetery.

Jack N. Sineath
Jack N. Sineath, age 80, of Alma died early Wednesday morning, August 30, 2006 at the Bacon County Hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Allendale, South Carolina but had lived most of his life in Vidalia, Georgia.
Jack was the son of the late Hart Sineath and Ruth O’Quinn Sineath and was preceded in death by a brother, H.R. Sineath. He served in the Navy during WWII.
Survivors include: a son, Jay Sineath and wife Ty of Alma; two daughters, Lynn Martin and husband David of Lyons, and Pam Carter and husband Steve of Fenton, Missouri; one brother, Joe Sineath of Macon; two sisters, Geraldine Lewis of Allendale, and Betty Rhodes of Texas. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Lil Sineath of Vidalia and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Reverend Junior Hayes officiating. iIntermentwill follow in Pine Lawn Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Friday evening between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m.

Donald Earl Musgrove
Bishop Donald Earl “Don” Musgrove, 39, died Thursday night, August 17, 2006, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
He was a native of Coffee County and had lived most of his life in Coffee County. He has lived in Alma for the past three years. A daughter, Kerigan Faith Musgrove and a brother, John Darrell Musgrove, preceded him in death. He was a full-time assistant pastor at University Boulevard Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Morgan Musgrove of Alma; two daughters, Kori Reanna Musgrove and Kristen Hope Musgrove both of Alma; his parents, Reverend Earl and Geraldine Musgrove of Alma; a step-grandmother, Vida Mae Musgrove of Douglas; a sister, Debra Denise Robbins of Alma; and several aunts, uncles and other relatives and many friends.
A funeral service was held Sunday, August 20, at University Boulevard Church of God. Burial was in Mt. Green Cemetery.

James V. Byars
James V. Byars, 82, of Brunswick, died Sunday morning, August 20, 2006, at Southeast Georgia Medical Center in Brunswick.
Memorial Services were held Monday at Altamaha Regional Park with Rev. Jimmy Byars officiating. Internment was also held Monday and was at Wolf Pit cemetery in Alma.
Survivors include his wife Betty C. Byars of Brunswick; four children, Gary Byars of Alma, Jimmy Byars and Judy Floyd, both of Brunswick and Terri Dyson of Waycross; four step-children, Ann Moore of Emporia, Virginia., Debbie Boone of Durham, North Carolina, Richard Bullock of Cary, North Carolina and David Bullock of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Everett Baptist Church and Henry Kight.
A native of Reform, Alabama, Mr. Byars had lived in Alma most of his life, having moved to Brunswick in 1990.
He was a self employed logger, and was a member of Everette Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. He was an avid fisherman, spending many mornings on the Altamaha River.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Morning Star Treatment Services, Inc., Youth Estate Campus, 1 Youth Estate Drive, Brunswick, GA 31525.

Shaquahna W. Gibson
Shaquahna Wilcox, a strong lady, who can be appropriately described as a warm hearted and spirited person. “Shea” as she was affectionately known was born February 5, 1975 in Alma, Georgia to Carolyn Bizzell Bembry and Eric Wilcox.
Her educational journey was launched in the public schools of Alma, Bacon County. Shea, like her brother Terrence (who preceded her in death), embodied herself with sports, with interests in running track, softball and basketball. After graduation from Bacon County High School, Shea furthered her education at Waycross Junior College.
She confessed Christ as a youth and joined First African Missionary Baptist Church where she led and guided under Reverend J.W. Moffitt.
Shea moved to Florida after college, where she worked as an administrative assistant. After relocating back to Alma, she became employed at Richmond Baking.
In November, 2004, Shaquahna married
Omar Gibson and together they raised a daughter, De’Shirea Gibson.
