VALRICO, Fla. - Funeral services for Ms. Willie Mae Price of 2519 Gotham Way, Valrico, Fla., formerly of Americus, who died on Wednesday, April 2, 2003, in that city, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday April 5, 2003, in the chapel of Barnum Funeral Home. Brother Don Wiley will officiate and burial will follow in the Eastview Cemetery.

Ms. Willie Mae Price was born on Sept. 14, 1940, in Lee County to the parentage of the late Mr. Robert Price and the late Mrs. Hannah Jackson Price.

She leaves to mourn her passing, one daughter, Ms. Sherry (Major) Rhodes; one sister, Ms. Lillie Mae Bishop; five grandchildren, Shagavia Jackson, Diana (Rodney) Hayes, Major (Doretha) Rhodes Jr., Gail Rhodes and Dennis Rhodes; 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Allen Watts Sr.

DESOTO - Funeral service for Deacon Allen "Bugget" Watts Sr., 83, of 250 DeSoto Seed Farm Road, who died on March 31, 2003, will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2003, at Shady Grove Baptist Church, Ga. Highway 195, Leesburg. iIntermentwill follow in Saint John Baptist Church Cemetery, Lee County.

He was born on Aug. 19, 1919, in Lee County, to the late Buck Watts and Mary Barnes Watts. Deacon Watts was a faithful member of Saint John Baptist Church for 70 years. After 31 dedicated years of service, he retired from the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany as a material handler.

Survivors are his wife of 66 years, Lizzie Green Watts; 14 children, Allen Watts Jr. (Patricia), Johnnie Presbury (Frank), Willa Covin, Lizzie Davis, Willie Watts (Rugenia), Ricky Watts (Regina), Emmanuel Watts (Jeanette), Fred Watts (Alisia), Juanze Watts (Jennifer), Vernetta Watts, Lillie Bell Scott, Annetta Williams (O.C.), Bernice Watts and Vanessa Watts; 76 grandchildren, including two whom he reared as his own, Seneca Victoria Watts and Bridgett Champion (Jeffery); 92 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Viola Stephen, Clara Thomas and Ethel Howard; one brother-in-law, John Green (Doris); one sister-in-law, Simmon Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held at the church one hour prior to services.

Emma Lou Johnson

AMERICUS -- Funeral services for the late Mrs. Emma Lou Gibson Johnson of 104 N. Village Drive, Americus, who died Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at Zion Hope Baptist Church. The Rev. George F. Monts Jr. will officiate and burial will follow in the Israel cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church for an hour before services begin.

Ms. Emma Lou Gibson Johnson's life began on march 17, 1916, to the parentage of Mr. Eddie Lee Gibson and Mrs Parie Lee Taylor Gibson.

Ms. Emma leaves to celebrate her legacy four loving daughters, Ms. Queen (Johnny) White, Ms. Willa Rutland, Ms. Mattie Johnson and Ms. Sallie Johnson; a devoted son, Mr. Joseph (Lola) Johnson Jr.; a sister, Ms. Vera Whitehead; 11 grandchildren, Mr. Solidean (Darlene) Hayes, Ms. Janice White, Ms. Joyce White, Ms. Joann Moore, Mr. Alfred (Shawanda) Moore, Mr. Michael (Bobby Jean) Moore, Mr. Mark (Bernadette) Smith, Mr. Kenneth Moore, Ms. Elizabeth Johnson, Ms. Emily Johnson and Mr. Joseph Johnson III; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Gentle Martin Casey

AMERICUS - Funeral services for Mr. Gentle Martin Casey of Barnum Drive, Americus will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2003, at Big Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Rollins officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery. Mr. Casey died Tuesday, April 15 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Augusta.

Brother Gentle Martin Casey was born on Jan. 6, 1933, to the parentage of the late Florene Martin Casey and the late Emmett Casey Sr. He attended McCoy Hill and A.S. Staley schools in Americus. At an early age he joined Big Bethel Baptist Church under the pastorage of the late Rev. Lowe. Gentle joined the U.S. Army and became a veteran during those years.

Gentle graduated frin Florida A&M; University with a bachelor's of science degree in music. He worked in Quincy and Palmetto, Fla., in the public schools as a music teacher. He was also the director of the gospel group, "The Gentle Voices, " as well as minister of music of Roger Memorial Methodist Church in Bradenton, Fla. He taught private piano and voice lessons to hundreds of students in Florida and Georgia. Gentle received his master's of music degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Fla. After retiring in 1980, he became the music director of the gospel choir at Georgia Southwestern College in Americus.

He leaves behind a loving, devoted brother, Emmett Casey Jr.; three nieces, Veronica Evans and Sharon Robinson of Americus and Carmen Mathis (Calvin) of New York. N.Y.; one nephew, Craig Dawson; devoted friends include Thelma Seay, Tiny Seay Davis, Trixie Seay, Ethel Seay, Beulah Carter, Saltha Williams, Ira Jones, Carolyn Thompson, Betty Bell and Eleanor Terry, all of Americus, Johnny Thomas of Palmetto, Fla., and Mattie Lee Carter and family of Atlanta. Several other relatives and friends also survive.

Earline Grimsley McAllister

AMERICUS - Funeral services for Earline Grimsley McAllister, age 53, of Plains, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2003, at the Chapel of Tante Funeral Home in Buena Vista with the Rev. Don Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Buena Vista Cemetery. Mrs. McAllister died Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at Sumter Regional Hospital in Americus. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today, April 18.

Mrs. McAllister was born May 19, 1949 in Marion County, the daughter of the late Lester Grimsley and Ruby Waters Grimsley. She had lived in Plains for the past 35 years and was accounts manager for Volvo Rents in Americus.

Survivors include her husband, Elmo McAllister of Plains; mother, Ruby Grimsley of Americus; son, Troy Allen McAllister of Americus; two daughters, Kimberly "Misty" Swain of Miamisburg, Ohio and Jennifer Gayle Lukens of Ray City; one brother, Clyde Grimsley of Ellaville; four sisters, Betty Lee of Tenn., Mary Ann Nose of Ind, Myron Lee of N.C. and Dail Willis of Ala.; and five grandchildren.

Tante Funeral Home in Buena Vista is in charge of arrangements.

Hallie Walker Wall

AMERICUS - Mrs. Hallie Walker Wall, born Nov. 30, 1903, in Sumter County, passed away on Thursday morning, March 27, 2003. She was the widow of the late William Henry Wall Sr., M.D., whose death occurred in Blakely in 1967, and she had resided at Magnolia Manor Methodist Retirement Center in Americus since 1982. She was the daughter of the late Henry Solomon Walker and Valencia Davenport Walker of Americus.

Mrs. Wall grew up in Americus and made her home in Blakely (Early County) from 1935 until 1982, moving to Magnolia Manor in Americus in 1982. She was a member of the faculty in the music department at Georgia Southwestern College before her marriage in 1932. She later taught elementary grades, piano and public school music in Sumter County, Early County, Blakely, Columbus and Arlington, from which she retired. With a group of young ladies from Americus, she performed live on WSB radio in Atlanta in 1930, and played with John Phillip Sousa at the Rylander Theatre around the same time. Throughout her life, she enjoyed music and civic activities.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, but she was the last surviving charter member of Lee Street United Methodist Church, where she had been the first church organist, a position she held for several years. She received her education in music at Georgia State College for Women (Milledgeville) and the University of Georgia, and was a graduate of Auburn University, where she was a member of Phi Kappa Phi honorary society. She was actively involved in the organization of the Ella Jones PTA in Blakely in the mid-1940s and served as its first president. She also served on the state board of Georgia Congress of Parents and Teachers as district director from Southwest Georgia. She was a member of the Literary Club in Americus and several clubs in Blakely.

Mrs. Wall is survived by a daughter, Anne Wall Williams and her husband, Elvin B., of Gainesville, Fla.; a son, Dr. William Henry Wall Jr. of Dunwoody; a brother, Charles E. Walker and his wife, Nell of Albany; grandchildren, William Henry Wall III of Brookhaven, Steven B. Wall of Alpharetta, Cami W. Phosai of Dunwoody, Kim Wall of Stone Mountain, Dr. Scott M. Williams of Brenham, Texas, Edward B. Williams of Tallahassee, Fla., and Catherine W. Christensen of Lawrenceville; seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29 in the chapel at Magnolia Manor with the Rev. John Brodess and the Rev. Brooks Partain officiating. iIntermentwill be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Ellaville cemetery in the Wall family plot. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the League of the Good Samaritan at Magnolia Manor, 2001 S. Lee St., Americus GA 31709.

Pearlie Mae

Patterson

AMERICUS -- Funeral services for the late Mrs. Pearlie Mae Patterson of 1204-A Usry Road, Leslie, died March 23, 2003, at Sumter Regional Hospital were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2003, at the Piney Grove Baptist Church No. 3. The Rev. W.G. Grover officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery. The remains were available for viewing at the church an hour before viewing.

Mrs. Pearlie Mae Patterson's life began March 6, 1931 in Lee County to the parentage of the late Tillman and Mamie Butler.

She leaves to cherish her memories two children, Doretha and William (Diann); three sisters, Ruby Bullard, Dollie Phillips and Gloria (Marvin) Sales; one brother, Tillman (Willie Mae) Butler Jr.; her grandchildren, Kima (Shana), Keith, Kaion, Andrea and Keonna; great-grandchildren Quinton, Keith Jr., Keiana, Kaion Jr., Daijah and Devin; foster children Alphonso Leon, Delia, Jeannetter and Walter; foster grandchildren Zabrina, Victoria, Chelsea, Whitney, Samantha and Cornelia; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive.

Barnum Funeral Home will be in charge of these arrangements.

Joshua Vinson

Camp Jr.

AMERICUS -- Joshua Vinson Camp Jr., 63 of 912 Post Way, Americus died Friday, March 28, 2003 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2003 at the Pentecostal Church on Upper River Road with Pastor Allen Brock officiating. iIntermentwill follow in Oak Grove cemetery with full military honors. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Today, at Aldridge Funeral Services.

Camp was born March 21, 1940 son of the late Joshua Vinson Camp Sr. and Lillie Young Camp in Sumter County. He retired from the United States Army with the rank of Sergeant First Class and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include his wife Frances Elaine Camp of Americus, one daughter Teresa Lynn Camp of Americus, one step son and step daughter-in -law Jeff and Tammy Lynn Freeman of Americus, one sister Patricia Mooney of Americus, four brothers Burrel Camp of Warner Robins, James Camp of Americus, John Camp of Thomaston and George Camp of Wyoming. Two step grandchildren Joshua Robert Findley and Amanda Marie Findley of Americus, Two step grandchildren, Thomas M. Callier of Americus, and Brandon L. Callier of Americus.

Aldridge Funeral Services of 612 Reese Park is in charge of these arrangements.

Albert Prince

AMERICUS -- Albert Prince of 102 Bill Cross St., Americus, Georgia died on Friday, March 28, 2003 in the Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 1, 2003 at 2 p.m. Elder Roosevelt Kinder will officiate and burial will follow in the Eastview cemetery.

Albert Prince was born in Sumter County, Georgia on March 22, 1915 to the parentage of the late Mr. Willie Prince and the late Mrs. Roxie Gould Prince.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving an devoted wife of 65 years, Ms. Eula Mae Prince; eight sons, Mr. Albert Prince, Jr. Mr. Willie Lee Prince, Mr. Johnnie (Susie) Prince, Mr. Oscar Lee (Bernice) Prince, Mr. Sampson Prince, Mr. David (Mary) Prince, Mr. Ernest (Barbara Jean) Prince, Mr. James (Barbara L.) Prince; seven daughters, Ms. Betty Sue (Anno, Sr) . Harris, Mrs. Retha (John) Dowdell, Mrs. DeLois (Karl) Wilson, Ms. Dorothy Jean Queenie, Ms. Barbara Ann (John Arthur ) Boone, Ms. Anna (Rev. Marcelious) Willis and Ms. Mattie Mae (Nathaniel) Edge; one brother, Mr. Ellis (Carrie) Prince; 51 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends survive.

Lillie Mae Hall

WARNER ROBINS — Lillie Mae Hall, age 98, of Warner Robins, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2006.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., today, at Buena Vista Cemetery, Buena Vista, with the Rev. John Lanier of Westside Baptist Church officiating.

Mrs. Hall was born Aug. 7, 1907 in Johnson County, the daughter of the late J.S. and Nancy Howell Mason.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Hudson D. Burt and Alonzo S. Hall, four brothers and one sister.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary B. Johnson (Ralph) of Centerville; sisters, Susie Odom of Macon and Claudia Wilson of Wrightsville; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; three sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family may be contacted at 100 Tivoli Park Road, Centerville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westside Baptist Church, 1101 Dunbar Road, Warner Robins, Georgia, 31093.

MIAMI — Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Mildred Pinder, 48, of Miami, who died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, will be announced by West's Mortuary.

AMERICUS — Funeral arrangements for Dan D. Highnote of 108 Woodland Ave., who died Thursday at his home, will be announced by Aldridge Funeral Services.

AMERICUS — Funeral services for Serenity Wade of Hudson Street, who died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006, are incomplete and will be announced by West's Mortuary.

Katie Cottle

AMERICUS — Funeral services for Mrs. Katie Cottle of Americus will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at the St. John AME Church in Plains with Bishop John T. Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Staley Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Cottle died on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at the Lillian Carter Nursing Center in Plains.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Mrs. Lorene Smith, Mr.& Mrs. Bobbie Armstrong, Ms. Katie Watts, Ms. Gwendolyn Hayes and Mr. Eddie Cottle; 10 grandchildren, Pamela Harris, Patricia Johnson, Candace Brownlee, Tawanda Stanley, Edwina Johnson, LaTochia Lomack, Kimberly Williams, Kenya Hayes, Henry Hayes Jr. Demetrius Cobb; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Mae Johnson (George), and Mrs. Mary E. White (Calvin); one sister-in-law, Mrs. Frances James. Several other relatives and friends also survive.

Roy E. Harden Sr.

AMERICUS — Mr. Roy E. Harden Sr., age 81, of 907 Park Row, Americus, died Wednesday morning at Sumter Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006 from the graveside at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. William Hall and the Rev. Dennis Johnson will officiate. Serving as active pallbearers are Joey Barnes, Johnny Lapinski, Rodney Barnes, Scottie Barnes, Donald Lacy, Ben Wisham and Keith Harden. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Trey Barnes, Trent Barnes, Travis Barnes, Ryan Barnes, J.T. Wisham and Derek Smith. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2006 at Aldridge Funeral Services, and at other times the family residence, 907 Park Row, Americus.

Mr. Harden was born Jan. 16, 1925, son of the late James Cleve Harden and the late Mattie Young Harden in Sumter County. He was retired from the former Turpin Dodge Company of Americus as a mechanic. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Margie J. Harden of Americus, four daughters and sons-in-law, Sue Lapinski of Americus; Annette and Mack Barnes of Leslie; Kitty and Bill Wisham of Americus; and Ginger and Buddy Purvis of Albany; two sons and daughter-in-law, John and Patricia Harden of Americus; and Steve Harden of Americus; 13 grandchildren, Bonnie Anthony, Donald Lacy, Kim Scott, Keith Harden, Barbara Wiggins, Johnny Lapinski, Joey, Rodney and Scottie Barnes, Jennifer Hogan, Ben Wisham, Susan Roberts and Sarah Beth Hester, the youngest granddaughter; 26 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Harden was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Francis Harden, and six brothers and sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to any church’s building fund of one’s choice.

Mildred Sims Pinder

MIAMI — Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Pinder of Miami, formerly of Americus, will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Plains with the Rev. James Lundy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Pinder died on Sunday Jan. 29, 2006.

She is survived by her children, Demetrius Cox, Jackson Pinder and Nicloe Tatum; her mother, Mrs. Edna Sims; eight bothers and sisters, Betty McGarrah (R.L), Ulysee Sims, Stella Ford (Charles), Gloria Sims, Diane Sims, Jerry Sims, Edna Joyce Morris and Jerome Sims; three aunts Fannie Mae Sheffield, Lady B. Sims and Alma Cox; four uncles, Booker T. Sims, Ralph Morgan, Charlie Morgan and Eddie Sims; one grandchild, JaKiri Pinder; a devoted friend James Tatum and a special friend Ernest Cox. Several other relatives and friends also survive.

Leonard Charles McGarrah

AMERICUS — Funeral services for Mr. Leonard Charles McGarrah of Americus will be Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at the Friendship Baptist Church in Americus with the Rev. Melvin McCluster officiating. Mr. McGarrah died on Monday Jan. 30, 2006.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Jessie Pearl McGarrah of Americus; his daughter, Tia. S. McGarrah of Atlanta; three sisters, Deloris McGarrah and Valerie McGarrah, both of Americus, and Cassandra Boone of Atlanta; one brother Jimmy McGarrah Jr of Americus; and a special friend, Gwendolyn McGarrah of Atlanta. Several other relatives and friends also survive.
