Grant Leighton Harbin
Memorial services for Grant Leighton Harbin of Maitland, Fla. were held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5 at the Winter Park Farmer’s Market.
Harbin, 41, died unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, Oct. 26, 2008. He was the son of Don and Betsy Harbin and was married to Kristin Molen Harbin.
Grant was a third generation Floridian, being born in Winter Park in 1967 and graduating from Winter Park High School in 1985. He then attended Stetson University, where he was a member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity and after graduation he continued to play an active role in the fraternity by acting as an alumni advisor. He was currently vice president of Professional Services for SunGard Public Sector, Inc. An Eagle Scout, avid golfer and incredible sports fan, Grant claimed the Florida Gators and Orlando Magic as his own. A dedicated son, brother, uncle, husband, and father, he will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents and wife of 15 years, survivors include his 12-year-old son, Davis and nine-year-old twin daughters, Courtney and Hannah; brother-in-law and sister, Joe and Bess Auer; his brother and sister-in-law, Foster and Martha Harbin of Tallahassee, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
Homer Thomas Hulett
Services for Homer Thomas Hulett of Alamo were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5 at Faith Baptist Church in McRae with interment in Telfair Memorial Gardens.
Brother Bill Jones officiated.
Hulett, 77, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008. He was the son of the late Jack and Ida Bell Davis Hulett and was married to Mary Elizabeth Werner Hulett.
He retired from Sunshine Biscuit Company and was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his son, Michael Hulett of Alamo; three stepchildren, Jeffery McCartney of Opelika, Ala., Dennis McCartney of Nashville, Tenn. and Gayla Thompson of Newport News, Va.; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Betty Pollard of Helena; and two brothers, Roy Hulett and Ed Hulett of Macon.

David Lee Smith Sr.
Services for David Lee Smith Sr. of McRae were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in McRae with interment in Green Grove Baptist Church’s cemetery.

Smith, 65, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. Born in Telfair County, Dec. 5, 1942, he was the son of the late L.W. and Verbenia Smith and was married to Claraetha Smith.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his daughters, Katie Smith of Decatur, Patra Smith of Savannah and Sonya (Thomas) Davis of McRae; son, David and Natasha Smith of Newnan; special friend, Cephus Hill of Decatur; granddaughter, Lamesha Stone; grandson, Lamar Stone; brothers, Willie L. (Josephine) of Lumber City, Benny (Lucy) Tillman and Willie C. (Wonda), both of Alamo; sisters, Josephine McArthur of Atlanta and Louella Smith of Rochester, N.Y.; three brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Services for Preston Booker of McRae were held at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 8 at Alamo Chapel Baptist Church with interment in the Alamo Cemetery.

Booker, 58, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009 at Glenwood Healthcare. He was the son of the late Preston Booker Sr. and Ruth Geter and was married to Mary Booker.
He was born May 26, 1950 in Wheeler County.
In addition to his loving wife, survivors include his children, Preston Booker, Fredrick (Tonya) Booker and Angelia Edwards, all of Alamo, Lashonda Ewards of Glenwood, Earnest (Shelia) Booker of Mt. Landon Allen 'Little Man' Brown
Services for Landon Allen “Little Man” Brown were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 16 at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with interment in the Evergreen Cemetery.
The Rev. Hugh Crowe, the Rev. Allen Hulett, the Rev. Kevin Vickers and the Rev. Tommy Baker officiated. Eulogies were given by Allen Brown and the Rev. Mary Ellen Hulett.
Infant Brown died Friday, March 13, 2009 in the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite.
He was born Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 in Fulton County to Heath and Kayla Brown and was associated with the Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Helena.
In addition to his parents, survivors include grandparents, Allen and Pam Hulett of Fitzgerald, Charles and Rhonda Brown of Milan and Joyce Brown of Helena; great-grandparents, Esther Brown of McRae and the late Charles Brown Sr., C.A. and Elene Hulett of Fitzgerald, Janelle Foster of McRae, Marvin Edge of Cedar Grove and the late Moena Edge and Harvey and Sharon Johns of Fitzgerald; and great-great-grandparents, Rose McBryant of Rochelle and the late Sammy McBryant and Mary Ellen Hulett of Milan and the late Daniel Hulett.

Clifton 'Cliff' Walter Holbrook
Memorial services for Clifton “Cliff” Walter Holbrook of Milledgeville were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14 at the First Presbyterian Church of Milledgeville.
Holbrook, 80, died Wednesday, March 11, 2009. He was the son of the late Clifton Lloyd and Audrey Wills Holbrook and was married to Nancy Neal Holbrook.

A native of Barrow County, he served his country as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from textile management in 1994 and was a Kiwanis member and a volunteer with Meals-on-Wheels, Habitat for Humanity and the VIPs (visually impaired persons). He was a faithful member and Elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Milledgeville.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, survivors include his sons, Neal Holbrook of Dublin and Joel and wife, Lori Holbrook of Milledgeville; and grandchildren, Ryan Holbrook and Paige Holbrook, both of Dublin.

Byron, 65, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009 at Dodge County Hospital in Eastman. He was the son of the late James Byron and Fannie Allen Byron.
He was born in Telfair County Nov. 9, 1944.
Survivors include four sisters, Juanita Wilcox of Lumber City, Bessie Mae Wright of Milan, Mary Byron of East Point and Evelyn Lashely of College Park; two brothers, James Byron of Milan and Willie B. Byron of Stone Mountain; aunt, Elizabeth Gillis of Milan; uncle, Roosevelt Tukes of Atlanta; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dollar, 79, died Monday, March 2, 2009 in Jacksonville, Fla.

Rueben Lester Harrelson
Graveside services for Rueben Lester Harrelson were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4 at Jacksonville Memory Gardens in Orange Park, Fla.

Harrelson was born Feb. 13, 1916 in Wheeler County to Rueben Littleton Harrelson and Josephine Brown. His siblings are Homer, Allison, Otis, Horace, Arlen, Tete, Carl and Russell. Two sons were still-born, which makes 11 sons.
When growing up, he enjoyed activities with his brothers, including baseball and fishing. He worked on his father’s farm and attended school in Wheeler County, graduating from high school in 1934, as the top student in his class. He owned and operated his own grocery store.
On Nov. 25, 1938 he married Mary Arbelle Rogers in Alamo and celebrated 62 years of marriage. He worked for Seaboard Railroad for 38 as a conductor and had resided at his present address for 56 years.
He has always been a member of a Baptist church and joined Hart Haven Baptist Church in December 1995.
Harrelson was the father of two children, Ruby Lee Harrelson Shelley (1939) and Jerry Littleton Harrelson (1945). He was the grandfather of four grandchildren, Deborah Lynn Shelley Bedard (Gary), Christopher Michael Shelley (Wendy), Jonathan Hensley Harrelson (Kelly) and Justin Lane Harrelson. He was the great-grandfather of four, Christopher Bedard, Matthew Bedard, Maeley Bedard, and Ella Harrelson. His daughter’s family resides in Maine, and his son’s family resides in Mandarin, Fla.
Later in life, he enjoyed playing board games, Canasta, gardening, fishing, attending church functions, and traveling, especially to Maine and Georgia. He had suffered back problems and had other health situations but was thankful every day to the Lord to have another day. He was most known by his kindness, understanding and wisdom. He and his wife, Mary were inseparable and he greatly appreciated their Christian walk, church and their families.

T/Sgt. John Orbin Ingle
Services for T/Sgt John Orbin Ingle of McRae were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 9 in the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Ft. Smith, Ark. with interment in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Ft. Smith.

Ingle, 66, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at the Regency Hospital in Macon following an extended illness. He was the son of the late James Dewey and Golda Blanche Embry Ingle. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Vernon Ingle and a sister, Darmolene Houston.
He was born March 6, 1942 in Ft. Smith, Ark., and had lived in Telfair County for the past 17 years. He was proud of his military service, was a veteran of the Navy and retired from the Air Force. He served in the Vietnam War and among the medals he received were the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct and Air Force Longevity Service Award (three awards). His military record contains comments on his faithful and dedicated service, and his commitments to lead in his units, his assistance in fly-ins and mission work and how he wore his uniform with much respect and dignity. He was very patriotic, making sure that he voted in every election. He enjoyed gospel and bluegrass music and was a member of Haven Heights Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Ark. He was a lifetime member of the Retired Enlisted Association.
Survivors include his daughter, Sherree (Guy) Huff and grandchildren, Christopher Kennedy and MacKenzie Townsend of Ft. Smith, Ark.; sisters (caregivers), Beatrice (Ralph) Mathew of Lumber City, Dorles (Zolan) Pettigrew Lincoln, Ark., Linda (Don) Barnhill of Van Buren, Ark.; brother, Edward (Mona) Ingle of Van Buren, Ark.; a special nephew and assistant caregiver, James (Jo) Mathew and son, Ian of Lumber City; a special niece and assistance caregiver, Mary (Doug) McNeal and children, Matthew, Daniel and Melanie McNeal of Hazlehurst; very special friends and extended family, Jane and Carey Knowles and family, and the staff and residents of Southern Charm Personal Care Home of McRae; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Lemon, 45, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009 at Crescent Ridge Nursing Home in Eastman. He was the son of Pauline Lemon and the late Willie Frank Lemon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Lemon and one sister, Mary Alice Lemon.
He was born Oct. 10, 1963 in Wheeler County.
In addition to his mother, survivors include a daughter, Felicia Howard of Eastman; five sisters, Peggy Mitchell (Leon), Linda McLean, Rudene Lemon, all of McRae, Helen (Radford) Jerido of Milan and JoAnn Harrell (Anthony) of Eastman; five brothers, Earnest Lemon (Laura) of Alamo, Melvin Lemon (Julia) of Ft. Nina Jane Livingston
Services for Nina Jane Livingston of Lumber City were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7 in the Lumber City First United Methodist Church with interment in the Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City.

Livingston, 59, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009. She was the daughter of the late James Harry Pope Sr. and Nina Ruth Coleman Pope and was married to Larry Livingston.
She was born in Jeff Davis County, but had lived most of her life in Lumber City. She was co-owner of Livingston’s Restaurant and was a member of the Lumber City First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and Sonya Livingston and Greg and Becky Livingston of Lumber City; brother and sister-in-law, James Pope Jr. (Dorothy) of Hazlehurst; four grandchildren, Keri, Jesse, Noah and Gracie of Lumber City; and several nieces and nephews.

Randolph, 51, died Thursday, Feb 26, 2009 at McRae Manor Nursing Home in McRae. She was the daughter of the late Ruthie Mae (McMillian) and John Eady and was married to Arthur Randolph Sr.
She was born June 13, 1957 in Telfair County.
