DOROTHY ELIZABETH BUCHANAN
Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Buchanan, age 89 of Sky Hawk Mountain Rd. Hiawassee formerly of Lake Shore Drive, Canal Point, FL, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Buchanan was born on Oct. 6, 1917 in Lynchburg, VA., The daughter of the late Eugene Boyce Shearer and the late Sarah Elizabeth Fralin Shearer. She retired in 1983 with over thirty five years of service with the United States Sugar Corporation. She was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Shearer and a sister, Katherine Shearer Messer. Mrs. Buchanan was a member of the Canal Point United Methodist Church for over seventy five years.
Surviving Mrs. Buchanan are one daughter, Judith Buchanan of Hiawassee, one son and daughter-in-law, Kendrick E. and Nancy Buchanan of Loxahatchee, FL, five grandchildren, Ken and Annie Norman of Marietta, GA, Mike and Denise Norman of Cumming, GA, Karen Buchanan and Craig Sargent of Palm Springs, FL, Kay Buchanan of Sheboygan, WI., Konnie and Chris Keena of Tallahassee, FL, ten great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006 at 11:00am from the Lake Worth Memory Gardens cemetery in Lake Worth, FL. with the Rev. Jackie McMillan officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, The family requests that memorials may be made to Regency Hospice of Hiawassee in Mrs. Buchanan’s memory. The family will meet with friends following the services.

WINONA MARY "BARBARA" ROGERS
Mrs. Winona Barbara Rogers, age 72 of Chapman Ford Rd. Blairsville passed away on Monday, Oct. 9, 2006 in the Fannin Regional Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Rogers was born on Jan. 24, 1934 in Rose Bud, SD., The daughter of the late Owen Phillip Young and the late Eva Roubideuy Young. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty two years, Eugene (better known as Gene) Rogers who passed away on April 7, 2006, two sons, Ricky Rogers in 2006 and Wayne Rogers in 1987, two brothers, Owen Young Jr. and Alex Lundermen, and a sister, Louella Young. Mrs. Rogers was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving Mrs. Rogers are two daughters and sons-in-law, Verna and Ricky Vincent of Forest Park, GA, Janet and Jeff King of Blue Ridge, three sons and two daughters-in-law, William and Glenda Peck of Douglasville, Michael Rogers of Seattle, WA., Pat and Laura Hacker of Kennesaw, three brothers, Sylvester Young of Rose Bud, SD., Wayne Young of Blairsville and Dwight Young of Houston, TX., seven grandchildren, Chase, Nicky, Christy, Krystal, Tracey, Jason and Jonathon, four grandchildren, Brandy, Brittney, Courtney and Clint Jr., many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October, 11, 2006 at 1:00pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. William Sisum officiating. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Clint Bartlett, William Peck III, Jason Peck, Jonathon Hacker, Joey Colwell and Tim Colwell. Interment will follow in the Union Memory Gardens Cemetery. The Family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5:30-9pm.

GRADY WARREN
Mr. Grady Warren, age 88 of Mt. Pleasant Church Rd. Blairsville passed away on Friday, Oct. 20, 2006 in the Clay County Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mr. Warren was born on Dec. 29, 1917 in Union County, The son of the late Dallas Warren and the late Julie Grizzle Warren. He was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. He was preceded in death by a son Jerry Warren and a daughter, Joy Dean Warren, brothers and sisters, Ruth Holcombe, Ralph Warren, Clifford Warren and Lea Ford Warren. Mr. Warren was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Surviving Mr. Warren are his loving wife of sixty nine years, Vonnie Lou Warren, two daughters and one son-in-law, Eulene and Evon Deaver of Blairsville, Shirley Blankenship of Bonita Springs, FL, two sons, Monroe Warren of Murphy, NC., James Richard Warren of Blairsville, one brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Thelma Warren of WA., three sisters and two brother in laws, Geneva DeFolco of Canton, OH., Della and Bill Bowers of Mineral Bluff, GA, Stella and Ben Shell of Idaho, two sisters-in-law, Grovie Warren of Suches, Lillie Warren of Blairsville, Nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006 at 2:00pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ronald Broadhead officiating. The following gentleman served as pallbearers, Bryan Plott, Lowell Martin, Eric Hughes, Kevin Warren, Tim Blankenship and Ronnie Davis. Interment followed in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.

JOHN CREWS RINGLAND
Mr. John Crews Ringland, age 88 of Rocky Circle Blairsville passed away on Friday, June 8, 2007 in the Heritage Health Care in Blue Ridge following an extended illness. Mr. Ringland was born on May 2, 1919 in Toronto, Canada, the son of the late Hans Ringland and the late Mabel Crews Ringland. he was a veteran of the Canadian Air Force of WWII. He was an office manager of LakeSide Village for over fifteen years. Mr. Ringland was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving Mr. Ringland are his loving wife of forty one years, Geraldine Ringland of Blairsville, one daughter, Barbara Burns of Vancover, Canada, three sons and two daughters-in-law, Pete and Kiki Ringland of Tahiti, Granger Ringland of Roechester, NY., Michael and Patricia Nolan of Ft. Wayne, IN., six grandchildren, one great grandchild, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2007 from the funeral home chapel with Father Richard Wise officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to United Hospice, 5004 Appalachian Hwy, Blue Ridge, GA 30513 in Mr. Ringland’s memory.

ESTHER B. YOUNG
Mrs. Esther B. Young, age 93 of Murphy Rd. Blairsville passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2007 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Young was born on Feb. 21, 1914 in Broome, NY., the daughter of the late Manley Bellinger and the late Nina Earls Bellinger. She had made her home in Blairsville since 1999, moving here from St. Cloud, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leander Young in 1976 and by a brother, Floyd Bellinger in 1940.Mrs.Young was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving Mrs. Young are one daughter and son-in-law, Willa Mae and Leonard Zeh of Blairsville, one brother, Duncan Bellinger of Howes Cave, NY., one niece, Ilene Gaffney of Cobleskill, NY., six grandchildren, Phillip Zeh, Kelly Ferguson, Brian Zeh, Sherrie Zeh, Lisa Jones and Kimberly Rosas, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the House of Prayer Church in Mrs. Young’s memory.

ROBERT DEAN ELLIS
Mr. Robert (Better known as Bob) Dean Ellis, age 71 of Souther Farm Rd. Blairsville and also of Sunny Drive Donalsville, GA, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2007 at his home in Blairsville following an extended illness. Mr. Ellis was born on June 12, 1935 in Emeigh, PA., the son of the late Clarence Ellis Sr.and the late Marion Gentles Ellis. He was retired from the US Navy, serving in both the Korean and Vietnan Wars. He received over eighteen Medals and Awards while in the Military. He loved his God and his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Ellis and two brothers, Jack and Charlie Ellis. Mr. Ellis was a member of Reynolds Chapel Methodist Church in Donalsville, GA.
Surviving Mr. Ellis are his loving wife of fourteen years, Betty Jean Johnson Ellis of Blairsville and Donalsville, three sons and one daughter-in-law, Bob Ellis Jr. of Henderson, NV., Michael Ellis of Austin, TX., David and Ann Ellis of Arlington, TX., three step sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Nancy Woods of Fayettville, GA, Tommy and Brenda Woods of Thomasville, GA, Gary and Heather Woods of Decula, GA, one sister and brother in law, Phyllis and Dan Schmidt of Youngstown, OH., two brothers and sisters-in-law, Herbert and Susie Ellis of Crourgarville, TX., six grandchildren, Kati, Cory, Kenny, Delaney, Sydney and Micaela, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Services for Mr. Ellis will be held on Friday, June 15, 2007 at 11:00am from the Reynolds Chapel Methodist Church in Donalsville, GA, with the Rev. Ed Ellis officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish the family requests that memorials may be made to the American Lung Association in Mr. Ellis’s memory. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors.

VANCE DAVID FREE
Mr. Vance David Free, age 57 of Thomason Rd. Young Harris passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Free was born on April 22, 1949 in Clayton, GA, The son of the late William (Bill) Free and the late Frances Brock Free. He was an Industrial Painter by trade. He was a veteran of the US Army of the Vietnam War, for which he received a Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Free in 1977.Mr. Free was a member of the Gumlog Baptist Church.
Surviving Mr. Free are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Saben Scott and Brooke Free of Ranlo, NC., Lonnie Dale Moses of Clover, SC., one brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Emma Free of Waren, NC., four sisters and three brother in laws, Katie and Denny Childers of Casa Grande, AZ., Abigail and Billy Pope of Bessemer City, NC., Ruby Dowdle of Charlotte, NC., Special family, Hal and Pat Phillips of Young Harris, three grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006 at 2:00pm from the Marcus Bramlett Cemetery in Clayton, GA, with the Rev. Thomas Teems officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Clayton Honor Guard. MARVIN RASTUS DOCKERY
Mr. Marvin Rastus Dockery, age 60 of Young Harris Hwy Warren, NC. passed away on Friday, Oct. 20, 2006 at his home. Mr. Dockery was born on Dec. 9, 1947 in Murphy, NC., The son of Mary Lou Graves Dockery and the late Lee Dockery. He retired in 1993 as a Boiler Maker and was a member of the I. B. B. M. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Gail Dockery in 2003 and by a brother, Clinton Kephart. Mr. Dockery was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Mr. Dockery are one son and daughter-in-law, Stewart and Linda Dockery of Warren, NC., mother, Mary Lou Kephart of Murphy, three sisters and brother in laws, Brenda and James Watkins of Blue Ridge, Tammy and Randall Beasley of Murphy, Debra and Glenn Barnett of Murphy, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Lisa Kephart of Murphy, Mike and Kristi Kephart of Murphy, two grandchildren, Cody and Micci Dockery of Columbia, TN., A best friend, Charles Arvie of Warrne, NC., many other relatives and friends also survive.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006 at 6:00pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Rogers and Rev. Roy Graves officiating. Special music will be presented by Dawn Decker. Interment will follow in the Dockery family cemetery in Warren, NC.

Mrs. Mary C. Forney, age 95 of Caylee Anne Drive Blairsville passed away on Monday, Oct. 23, 2006 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Forney was born on Spet.11, 1911 in Savannah, GA, The daughter of the late Ernest Cordray and the late Lila Bouche Cordray. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lester Forney in 1995.Mrs.Forney was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving Mrs. Forney are one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Jerry Elizabeth Forney of Blairsville, two grandchildren, Stephen Forney of Savannah, David and Marci Forney of Blairsville, two great grandchildren, Christian and Elizabeth, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 27, 2006 at 11:00am from the Catholic Cemetery in Savannah with Dr. Phillip Meeks officiating. The family will meet with friends at the Hubert C.
