Eula Davis Tillman
Eula Davis Tillman, 94, passed away early Monday morning, Dec. 25, at Brandon Hospital following a short illness.
A native of Pierce County, she had lived in Jacksonville, Fl since 1927 but had moved to Brandon in 1994 to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She was a housewife and a member of Beulah Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Colquitt and Kate Peacock Davis. Mrs. Tillman was also preceded in death by her husband, Eldridge Tillman, a daughter, Elizabeth Kay Newton and two sons, Conrad Tillman and Eldridge Mordant “Jimmy” Tillman.
Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Bill Griffin of Brandon; a daughter-in-law, Ila Tillman of Jacksonville; a son-in-law, C. D. Newton of Jacksonville; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tillman were held Thursday morning, Dec. 28, 2000, at 11 a.m. from Beulah Baptist Church.
Rev. Ed Tillman and Rev. Philip Prim officiated.
Interment was in Beulah Cemetery.

John Raymond 'Rink' Keller
Mr. John R. “Rink” Keller, Sr., 86, passed away early Saturday in the Satilla Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
A native and life-long resident of Pierce County, he was a retired Electrician and a member of the Blackshear First Baptist Church.
An Army Veteran of World War II, he was the recipient of the Purple Heart for injuries received in service in the European Theater of War.
He was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a former member of the Pierce County Farm Bureau.
He was a son of the late Hardy Franklin and Marion Higgins Keller.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs Julia (Judy) Walker Keller of Blackshear; a daughter and son-in-law, Beth & Tommy Lloyd of Blackshear; a son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Susan Keller of Waycross, a son, William (Bill) Walker Keller of Blackshear. There are four grandchildren, Thomas Lloyd, Mark Lloyd, Chris Keller and Misty Keller, and two great-grandchildren, Tyler & Andrew Lloyd. There are several other relatives.
Services for Mr. Keller were held at 11 a.m. Monday from the Blackshear First Baptist Church.
Officiating were Rev. Virlon Griner and Dr. Benny Pate.
Interment was in the Blackshear Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Blackshear.

Randolph William Morgan
Mr. Randolph William Morgan of Irwin County died Saturday, January 25, 2003 at his residence. He was 73.
Mr. Morgan was born August 5, 1929 in Irwin County, son of the late Beler (McCain) Morgan and Earnest William Morgan.
Mr. Morgan was a native of Irwin County, having lived here all of his life. He was an electrician and had previously worked for Tankersley Oil Company. He was also a farmer. Mr. Morgan was a former member of the Ocilla Volunteer Fire Department, a former Jaycee and worked with Civil Defense during the Cold War. Mr. Morgan attended Bethel Baptist Church in Ocilla.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Morgan.
Survivors include his wife, Jerrell Handley Morgan of Ocilla; sons, Randy and Barbara Ann Morgan of Ocilla and Tony and Tharesa Morgan of Ocilla; a brother, Leroy and Mavis Morgan of Ft. Valley; sisters, Hazel Green of Lake Sinclair and Frances Bradford of Ocilla; four grandchildren, Allen and Heather Morgan, Sandi and Al Pilcher, Curt Morgan and Dawn Morgan; five great-grandchildren, Cam, Luke and Lizzie Morgan, Shaw and William Seth Pilcher; brother-in-law, Delmar and Betty Handley of Rochelle and sister-in-law, Bobby and Shelby Ritch of Dublin.
Services were held at Bethel Baptist Church on Monday, January 27 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Tracy Clements and Rev. Jack Thompson officiating.
Music was provided by Rev. and Mrs. Tommy Ritch and girls and Bethel Baptist choir.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Allen Morgan, Curt Morgan and Al Pilcher; nephews, Billy Randolph Ritch, Darrell Handley and Robert Colvin.
Honorary pallbearers were granddaughters, Sandi Morgan Pilcher, Dawn Morgan and Heather Morgan.
Interment was held at Frank Cemetery in Irwin County.

Lessie T. Young
Mrs. Lessie T. Young of Irwin County died Thursday, January 23, 2003 at Dorminy Medical Center. She was 91.
Mrs. Young was born September 1, 1911 in Atkinson County, daughter of the late Lucy McDonald Tucker and Dennis Tucker.
Mrs. Young lived in the community all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Ocilla Primitive Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Verne Young.
Survivors include her son, Verne Young of Cordele; brother, O. C. Tucker of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Mattie Lou Reeves of Fernandina Beach, FL; grandchildren, Tracy Young of Fitzgerald and Brittni Young of Cordele; great-grandchild, Hailey Young of Fitzgerald; step-grandchildren, Todd Powers of Jefferson and Torre Powers of Monroe, TX; step-great-grandchildren, Brandon Arnett of Fitzgerald and Jacob Powers of Jefferson.
Pallbearers were Dennis Tucker, Darrell Tucker, David Powell, Keith Powell, Clyde Futch, Jr. and James McMillan.
Graveside services were held at Whitley Cemetery in Irwin County on Sunday, January 26 at 2 p.m., with Elder Otis McGee officiating.

Ronny M. “Ron” Aycock, Jr.
Mr. Ronny M. “Ron” Aycock, Jr. of Fitzgerald died Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at Tift Regional Medical Center. He was 25.
Mr. Aycock was born November 13, 1977 in Tift County, the son of Ronny M. Aycock, Sr. of Fitzgerald and the late Vicki (Wiley) Aycock.
Ron lived in the community all of his life. He was a very special person and was a pioneer in mainstreaming education for handicapped children. He was a member of Prospect Baptist Church in Ben Hill County. Ron graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1999.
He was preceded in death by mother, Vicki W. Aycock, grandfather, Shelby Aycock and grandmother, Aline Ricketson Paulk.
Survivors include his parents, Ronny M. and Clarice Aycock of Fitzgerald; brothers, Berry D. Aycock of Fitzgerald (attends Georgia Southern University, Statesboro) and Doug Aycock of Fitzgerald; grandparents, Jimmy and Christine Wiley of Irwinville, Leonard and Elizabeth Paulk of Ambrose and Louisa M. Aycock of Fitzgerald.
Services were held at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald on Thursday, January 23 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Harris Johnson, Rev. Bobby Stone and Rev. Ronald Cobb officiating.
Music was provided by pianists, Patsy Spradlin and Linda Roberts and soloist, Diane Bellamy.
Pallbearers were Robert Allen Baldwin, Deidre Baldwin, Amanda Bellamy, Jason Youmans, Parker Wiley, Robert S. Hollingsworth, Jeffrey Kite, Tony Aycock, Toby Aycock, Jake Paulk and Brandy Paulk.

Willis Jordan
Funeral services for Mr. Willis Jordan will be held Saturday, February 1, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Holsey Chapel C.M.E. Church with Pastor David Peay officiating. Interment will follow in the Ocilla City Cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Richard S. Griffin
Mr. Richard S. Griffin of Ocilla died Monday, January 13, 2003 at Tift Regional Medical Center. He was 86.
Mr. Griffin was born November 21, 1916 in Wilkinson County, the son of the late Ella Virginia (Fountain) Griffin and John Willie Griffin.
Mr. Griffin lived in the community most of his life and was married to Mrs. Griffin for 63 years. He was a retired farmer and a member and Sr. Deacon at Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by son, Richard Levy Griffin.
Survivors include his wife, Louisa Bryant Griffin of Ocilla; daughter, Betsy Giddens of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Scott Griffin of Fitzgerald, Denise Griffin of Valdosta and Jennifer Walker of Fitzgerald; great-grandchildren, Griffin Walker and Wright Walker, both of Fitzgerald.
Services were held at Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Irwin County on Wednesday, January 15 at 2 p.m., with Elder Gerald Proctor and Elder Jimmy Thomas officiating.
Music was provided by pianist, Marty Smith and soloist, Susan Harper.
Honorary pallbearers were Brushy Creek Church deacons and Stuart Griffin and Little Coy Maddox.
Active pallbearers were Donnie Wright, Bobby Griffin, Kyle Roberts, Danny Howell, Bruce Daniel and James Riley Daniel.
Interment was held at Brushy Creek Cemetery.

Daphine Lovett Beattie
Ms. Daphine Lovett Beattie died Saturday, January 11, 2003 at Osceola Nursing Home in Ocilla. She was 71.
Ms. Beattie was born July 31, 1931 in Fitzgerald, the daughter of the late Callie Madline (Westbrook) Lovett and Suvan Elias Lovett.
Ms. Beattie lived in the community most of her life and was a former resident of Tifton and Albany. She was a former switch board operator for H. R. Kaminsky & Sons. She was of the Church of God faith.
She is survived by her sister, Arlene L. Allen of Valdosta.
A private service was held at Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald.

Nancy Tucker
Miss Nancy Tucker of Ocilla died Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at Irwin County Hospital. She was 87.
Miss Tucker was born April 8, 1915 in Irwin County, the daughter of the late Grovie Brogdon Tucker and Reason Tucker.
Miss Tucker lived in Irwin County most of her life and was a former resident of Brunswick. She was a former employee of Walker’s 5 & 10 and Cohen’s Department Store, both in Ocilla. Miss Tucker was a member, former Children’s Sunday School teacher and nursery coordinator of Ocilla Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sister, Myrtice T. Daniel of Ocilla; nieces and nephews, Alicia Cockman, Helen Wynn, Ron Daniel, Elaine DeBerry and Lowell Tucker; great-nieces and nephews, Kristin Daniel, Paige Crawford, Allison Cockman, Chris DeBerry and Russell Tucker.
Services were held at Ocilla Baptist Church on Friday, January 17 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Jim Franklin, Elder Paul Thomas and Rev. Gerald Thomas officiating.
Pallbearers were Ron Daniel, Ed Cockman, Buddy Wynn, John crawford, Lowell Tucker and Elton DeBerry.
Interment was held at Spring Hill Cemetery in Irwin County.

Louise Henderson Willis
Mrs. Louise Henderson Willis, 91, died Saturday, January 18, 2003 at Beverly Health Care in Tifton.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 20 at 3 p.m. at the Ocilla Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Otis McGee officiating. Interment was held at Ocilla Cemetery.
Music was provided by pianist, Pam Pusey.
Pallbearers were Doug Justice, Ira Paulk, Gene Paulk, Charles Lane, David Justice and Jan Giovingo.
Mrs. Willis was born July 26, 1911 to the late Gene Henderson and Mae Paulk Henderson. She was the wife of the late Dr. Gabe W. Willis. Two sisters, Sarah Frances Henderson and Loyce F. Henderson, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Willis attended Georgia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and was a retired registered nurse. She was employed at Georgia Baptist Hospital for 14 years and also worked in Fitzgerald at Ben Hill County Hospital and Dorminy Medical Center, Irwin County Hospital and Beverly Nursing Home in Tifton. Mrs. Willis was a member of the Ocilla Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Ida Nell H. Tucker of Ocilla and Kathleen H. Floyd of Albany; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Linda Tucker Greer
Mrs. Linda Tucker Greer, 48, died January 16, 2003, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 19 at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church in Irwin County, with Rev. Jack Perrin and Rev. Donnie Pridgen officiating. Interment was held in the church cemetery.
Music was provided by pianist, Barbara Jacobs and soloist, Blane Jacobs.
Pallbearers were Bobby Tucker, Brad Tucker, Eddie Tucker, Marcus Tucker, Troy Owens and Rudy Gwaltney.
Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Sumner and Roger Sumner.
Mrs. Greer was born September 2, 1954 in Irwin County to the late Elisha Tucker and Beaulah Mae Cox Tucker. She was a 1972 graduate of Irwin County High School and received her associate degree from Abac in Tifton. Mrs. Greer was a para professional with the Tift County Board of Education. She was a member of the Bethany Missionary Baptist Church and the church Ladies Circle.
Survivors include her husband, John T. Greer, Sr. of Ocilla; sons, Perry Greer of Ocilla; two step-daughters, Holly Greer Gwaltney of Bamberg, SC and Bonny Greer Sanders of St. Augustine, FL; step-son, John T. Greer, Jr. of Atlanta; brother, Marston Tucker of Wray; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Gene Tucker and Raford Tucker, preceded her in death.

Clarence C. Hutto
Mr. Clarence C. Hutto died in a Belton, TX hospital on Sunday, December 22, 2002.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 28 at Bellwood Memorial Park with Rev. William Hutto officiating.
Mr. Hutto was born February 2, 1934 in Irwin County, the son of Robert E. Hutto and Fannie Law Hutto.
He served in the U. S. Army from 1957 to 1977. He served two tours in Germany and one tour in Korea.
Clarence lived the last eight years in the Indian Oaks Nursing Center in Harker Heights, TX.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Rosemarie Hutto; sons, Robert Hutto, Jerry Hutto and William Hutto; daughter, Dolores Aycock, all of Belton, TX; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, Cecil Hutto of Ocilla and sister, Zephyr Hutto Gray of Albany.
