ARLIE PEARL GRAHAM
Mrs. Arlie Pearl Graham, age 92 of Oak Lane Blairsville formerly of Fayetteville, GA, passed away on Monday, Feb. 6, 2006 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Graham was born on Aug. 29, 1913 in Dickson County, TN., The daughter of the late Thomas Lee and the late Ellie Deason Lee. Mrs. Graham was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Mrs. Graham are one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Bill Cannady of Blairsville, Two Grandchildren, Susan and Mark Applewhite of Suwanee, Scott and Jennifer Cannady of Peachtree City, three Great-Grandchildren, Brady and Owen Applewhite and Danny Cannady, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006 at 11:00 am from the Laurel Hills Cemetery with Phillip Meeks officiating. Mrs. Graham’s family served as pallbearers.

LORRAINE GAIL SUDDUTH
Mrs. Lorraine Gail Sudduth, age 45 of Howell Ln. Young Harris passed away on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Sudduth was born on Aug. 22, 1961 in Forsyth County, GA, The daughter of the late Annie Frix Hamby. At the time of her death she was employed as a Second Grade Teacher with the Towns County School System. Mrs. Sudduth was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving Mrs. Sudduth are her loving husband of seven years, Chris Sudduth of Young Harris two step children, Jessica Rose Sudduth of Franklin County, GA, Christopher Adam Sudduth of TX., father and mother in law, Dewey and Irene Sudduth of Winder, brothers and sisters in laws, Curt and Scottie Sudduth of Rex, GA, Trey and Karen Brown of Bethlehem, GA, Mark and Jennifer Sudduth of Statham, GA, Chris and Maria Blackmoore of Statham, Carl Reeves of Jefferson, GA, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006 at 11:00am from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Chris Scoggins officiating. Interment and graveside services will follow at 2:30pm from the Sawnee View Gardens Cemetery in Cumming, GA. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10-11:00am.

VERNON HUGO LANCE
Mr. Vernon Hugh (Better known as Hugo) Lance, age 85 of Loving Rd. Morganton passed away on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Lance was born on July 7, 1921 in Union County, the son of the late Thomas M. Lance and the late Mary Louise Byers Lance. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Core of WWII. He was a native and lifelong resident of Union County. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty nine years, June Eileen Lance who also passed away this year, and by a sister, Mae Lance Martin. Mr. Lance was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist church.
Surviving Mr. Lance are one son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Judy Lance of Morganton, two sisters, Opal Lance Anderson Poteet of Marietta, Maude DeWeese of Mineral Bluff, GA, brother in law, J. O. Martin of Conyers, six grandchildren, Kyle Thomas Lance, Sherry Sosebee, Jeffery Holden, Lisa Nicholson, Matthew and Adam Dockery, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006 at 2:00pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Hubert Legg officiating. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, John Little, Grady B. Williams, Johnny Glore, Alton Garrett, Lweis DeWeese, Ronnie DeWeese and Steven Carnes. Interment will follow in the Mt.Zion Baptist church cemetery.

MARILYN ALICE BUMPUS
Mrs. Marilyn Alice Bumpus, age 83 of Hamilton Rd. Blairsville passed away on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Bumpus was born on Nov. 4, 1923 in Brockton, MA., The daughter of the late Warren Nelson Messer and the late Rose Drouin. She was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Wooley. She was a veteran of the US Navy of WWII.
Surviving Mrs. Bumpus are her loving husband, George Bumpus Sr. of Blairsville, one son and daughter-in-law, George Jr. and Yvonne Bumpus of Blairsville, one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Paul Truono of Bonita Springs, FL, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A private memorial service is being planned. In lieu of flowers if you wish, The family requests that memorials may be made to your favorite charity in Mrs. Bumpus’s memory.

ANN M. WHITE
Mrs. Ann White, age 91 of Summit Trace Blairsville passed away on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006 following an extended illness. Mrs. White was born on Feb. 20, 1915 in Gilmer County, GA, The daughter of the late Garrett Z. Roberts and the late Stella Maude Withrow Roberts. Before her retirement she was employed with the Cluett Peabody-Arrow Shirt Company for over twenty five years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford Q.White and by two brothers, John and Claude Roberts. Mrs. White was a member of the House of Prayer Church.
Surviving Mrs. White are one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Charles Allen of Blairsville, two sisters-in-law, Harriett Roberts of Roswell, GA, Minelle Roberts of Stockbridge, GA, two grandchildren, Deborah and Tommy Kitchin, Charles L. and Nancy Allen, four great-grandchildren, Laura C.Kitchin, Daniel T. Kitchin, John W. Allen and S.Lee Allen, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 1, 2007 at 2:00pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Helton and Rev. Bill Honaker officiating. Special music was presented by Nelson LeCroy, Miny Combs and Eric Tippens. The following gentleman served as pallbearers, Jeff Rogers, Henry McPherson, Joe Walker, Mike Robinson, Woody Woodmansee and Robert Gilliland. Interment followed in the House of Prayer Church Cemetery. The family requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the House of Prayer Building Fund in Mrs. White’s memory.

DOROTHY MAE HENDRIX
Mrs. Dorothy Mae Hendrix, age 75 of Morning View Place Blue Ridge, GA, formerly of Smyrna, GA, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Hendrix was born on May 3, 1931 in Atlanta, GA, The daughter of the late Wynfred Armstrong and the late Mary Beason Strong. She retired from the Cobb County School System in 1991 as a Food Technician with over twenty years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Harold Hendrix in 1996, and by a son, David C. Hendrix in 1991.Mrs.Hendrix was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Mrs. Hendrix are one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Ken Shipp of Smyrna, one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Dorothy Hendrix of Ellijay, GA, four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

HENRIETTA CROSS
Mrs. Henrietta Cross, age 80 of Blueberry Lane Blairsville passed away on Monday, July 24, 2006 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Cross was born on June 10, 1926 in the Netherlands, The daughter of the late John Veenstra and the late Martha Zinksgraven Veenstra. Mrs. Cross was a loving wife and mother. She was an avid gardener which she enjoyed in her past time. Mrs. Cross was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Cross are her loving husband of forty one years, Norman H. Cross of Blairsville, one son and daughter-in-law, Norman J. and Simone Cross of Rudford, MI., one daughter, Kimberly Cross of Blairsville, two nieces, Bonnie Bunker and Sherry Peal, one nephew, Freddie Britt, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at 2:00pm from the Union Memory Gardens cemetery with Elder Stout officiating. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11-2:00pm.

BEATRICE LAVINA BATES
Mrs. Beatrice Lavina Bates, age 94 of Hummingbird Lane Hiawassee, formerly of Stonehenge Blairsville passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2006 in the Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Bates was born on Oct. 9, 1911 in Milford, OH., The son of the late Howard Faul and the late Alvina Becker Faul. She was the first woman Deputy Sheriff of the Broward County Sheriff’s Department in the 1950’s.She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Bates in 1981. Mrs.Bates was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving Mrs. Bates are one son and daughter-in-law, William (Bill) H. and Elizabeth Bates of Hiawassee, GA, three grandchildren, Bill, Terry and Todd Bates, three great-grandchildren, Eric, Shannon and Courtney Bates, many other relatives and friends also survive.

PAMELA CAROL CLARK
Mrs. Pamela Carol Clark, age 56 of Wild Wood Rd. Blairsville, formerly of Boynton, FL. passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at her home. Mrs. Clark was born on July 19, 1950 in Bergen County, NJ., The daughter of the late John Howard Holly and the late Helen McMahon Holly. She had retired from the Bethesda Memorial Hospital in 2001 as a X Ray Technician with over twenty three years of service. Mrs. Clark was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Surviving Mrs. Clark are one son, Daniel Clark of Boynton, FL, one brother, Terry Holly of Del Ray Beach, FL, one grandchild, Madison, many other relatives and friends also survive.
