GENEVA MARY BROWN
Mrs. Geneva Mary Brown, age 73 of Hwy 76 Young Harris passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2007 in the Chatuge Regional Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Brown was born on April 15, 1933 in Towns County, the daughter of the late Will McClure and the late Beulah Thomas McClure. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Brown in 1991 and also by two sons, Gary and Billy Brown. She was a native and lifelong resident of Towns County. Mrs. Brown was a member of Old Union Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Brown are two daughters and one son-in-law, Betty Totherow of Young Harris, Jennifer and Danny Stiles of Turtletown, TN., one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Rita Brown of Blairsville, one sister, Betty Davis of Blairsville, six grandchildren, Kristy Martin, Alisa Hill, Summer Okelly, Autumn Brown, Ashley Brown and Emily Brown, five great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, April 15, 2007 at 2:00pm from the funeral home chapel with the rev. Jimmy Rogers and Rev. William Sisum officiating. Special music was presented by the Hogsed’s. The following gentleman served as pallbearers, Kenneth Pickelsimer, Danny Stiles, Tim Ingram, William Young, Dusty Young and Tony Young. Interment followed in the family cemetery in Young Harris. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Mrs. Brown’s memory.

JOHN SEDOR
Mr. John Sedor, age 93 of Highland Trace Hayesville, NC., passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2007 in the Angel Medical Center in Franklin following an extended illness. Mr. Sedor was born on Dec. 8, 1913 in Perth Amboy, NJ., the son of the late Anthony Sedor and the late Anna Kostyk Sedor. He was a veteran of the US Marines. He retired from the Anaconda Copper Works in Perth Amboy in 1976 as a Lab Technician with over forty five years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Sutch Sedor. Mr. Sedor was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving Mr. Sedor are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Priscilla and Anton Stab of Hayesville, Beverly Swallick of Berth Amboy, NJ., Geraldine and Addison Hodges of Lake Susie, Fl., one sister, Anita Lorfing of NJ., four grandchildren, Keith Kirchner, Cheryl, Kimberly and Richard Swallick, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in New Jersey with interment following in the Alpine Cemetery in Perth Amboy, NJ. FRED EUGENE BURCH
Mr. Fred Eugene Burch, age 97 of Lone Ridge Rd. Hiawassee passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 in the Chatuge Regional Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mr. Burch was born on January 15, 1910 in Towns County, the son of the late Oren Burch and the late Celia Barrett Burch. He was a native and lifelong resident of Towns County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Faye Anderson Burch, a son, Ralph Burch, two sisters, Mary Lou Burch, Maggie Lunsford, two brothers, Ed and Willis Burch. Mr. Burch was a member of Union Hill Methodist Church.
Surviving Mr. Burch are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Geneva and Rev. Harley Hunter of Hiawassee, Joann Freeman of Hiawassee, Noble and Dwight Dotson of Easley, SC., one son and daughter-in-law, Buren and Judy Burch of Blairsville, one sister, Nora Mae Barrett of Clarksville, daughter-in-law, Louise Burch of Albany, GA, eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, four step great-great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 2:00pm from the Union Hill Methodist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Rogers and Rev. Hoyt Allen officiating. Special music will be presented by the Union Hill Methodist church choir. The body will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 1-2pm.The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Stanley and Randy Hunter, Donald and Edward Dotson, William Smith and Justin Mathis. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be, O. C. Burch, Ricky, Larry and Phillip Barrett. Interment will follow in the Burch Cemetery. The family will meet with friends on Wednesday evening from 6-9pm at the funeral home.

RUTH NOLAN LAURIDSEN
Mrs. Ruth Nolan Lauridsen, age 89 of McIntosh Rd. Blairsville passed away on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Lauridsen was born on May 5, 1917 in Chicago, IL., The daughter of the late Harvey Harry Nolan and the late Addie Mason Nolan. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty two years, Roy Lauridsen in 1990, four brothers, Ernest, Roy, Chuck and Victor Nolan, also by a sister and brother in law who she was raised by, Myrtle and William Speaker. She was a member of the O. E. S. Mrs. Lauridsen was a member of the House Of Prayer Church.
Surviving Mrs. Lauridsen are one daughter, Joyce Mackel of Blairsville, two sisters, Janet Meshew of Key West, FL, Louise Berger of KS., two grandchildren, Janet Meshew of Key West and Louise Berger of KS., six great-grandchildren, Amelia, Soren, Maranda, Nevin, Nia and Justin, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Aug. 28, 2006 at 7:00pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bill Honaker officiating. Interment and graveside services followed on Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 4:00pm from the Lake Wales cemetery in Lake Wales, FL. In lieu of flowers if you wish, The family requests that memorials may be made to United Hospice in Mrs. Lauridsen’s memory.

HAROLD GEORGE KIELEY
Mr. Harold George Kieley, age 87 of Booger Hollow Conn. passed away on Monday, Aug. 28, 2006 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Kieley was born on Dec. 4, 1918 in Pelham, NY., The son of the late John Joseph Kieley II. He owned and operated a Taxi and Limo services for many years. He was an avid Bridge Player. He was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Elliot Kieley and by a son, Harold Kieley Jr.
Surviving Mr. Kieley are one son and daughter-in-law, John J. and Candace Kieley of Poway, CA., two sisters, Marjory Catherin DesRosier of Craryville, NY., Jaclyn Mathilda Hoffman of Flushing, MI., Six grandchildren, J. J. Kieley IV of Rohnert Park, CA., James Kieley of Chandler, AZ., Jeffrey Kieley of Monterey, CA., Michael Kieley, Mare Kieley and Michelle Farias all of Tijuana, Mexico, eight great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006 at 2:00pm from his residence at 2739 Booger Hollow Connector with Pastor Dave Wesche officiating. STELLA DENNING
Mrs. Stella Denning, age 69 of Laurel Mtn. Estates Blvd. passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006 at her home following a brief illness. Mrs. Denning was born on Dec. 12, 1936 in Ridgebury, NY., The daughter of Mary Rhein Denning and the late George Rhein. She retired from the Avon Company after thirty five years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Denning in 2005 and by a daughter, Brenda Torres in 2003.She had made her home in Blairsville for the past seventeen years, moving here from New York. Mrs. Denning was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving Mrs. Denning are one daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Fred Newkirk of Guilford, NY., mother, Mary Rhein of Goshen, NY., one brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Marie Rhein of Liberty, NY., four grandchildren, Maria Roberts of Toccoa, GA, Steven Heater of Guilford, NY., Katlyn Newkirk and Fred Newkirk Jr. all of Guildford, NY., many other relatives and friends also survive.

AMOS EUGENE PORTER
Mr. Amos Eugene Porter, age 67 of Timber Ridge Rd. Blairsville passed away on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006 following an extended illness. Mr. Porter was born on Aug. 14, 1939 in Cherokee County, GA, The son of the late Otto Perry Porter and the late Lula Bell Brock Porter. He was a veteran of the US Army. He retired from the Commercial Carriers Car Haulers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Nell Taylor Porter in 2005.Mr. Porter was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist church.
Surviving Mr. Porter are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Perry Porter of Kennesaw, GA, Perry and Jan Porter of Marietta, two daughters and sons-in-law, Dana and Bobby Nelson of Blairsville, Tina and Robert Burnette of Blairsville, four grandchildren, Seth and Sarabeth Nelson, Cheyenne, Ashlyn and Sierra Burnette, many other relatives and friends also survive,
Funeral services were held on Monday, Sept. 4, 2006 at 11:00am from the Philadelphia Baptist Church with the Rev. Chad Underwood officiating. Special music was presented by Paul Porter and Jonathan Adams. The following gentleman served as pallbearers, David Taylor, Matthew Taylor, William Lee, John John Jones, Vester Dills, Vernon Patterson and Jack Nelson. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

HAROLD CLYDE FAIR
Mr. Harold Clyde Fair, age 68 of Pleasant Hill Rd. Blairsville formerly of Athens, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 in the Union County Nursing Home following a brief illness. Mr. Fair was born on Feb. 25, 1938 in Union County, The son of the late Lloyd Fair and the late Minnie Conley Fair.He was a Veteran of the US Army. He was a native of Union County and had lived in Athens, GA, for over forty years before moving back to Blairsville. Mr. Fair was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving Mr. Fair are one sister, Frances Partin of Blairsville, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil and Yvonne Fair of Blairsville, Joe and Evelyn Fair of Blairsville, Tommy and Christine Fair of Athens, GA, several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 2:00pm from the Antioch Baptist church cemetery with the Rev. B. A. Buchanan officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Antioch Baptist church cemetery fund in Mr. Fair’s memory.

BEULAH HUFFMAN
Mrs. Beulah H. Huffman, age 85 of Furman Gribble Rd. Hiawassee formerly of Lakeland, FL, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Huffman was born on Jan. 5, 1921 in Clark County, Ohio, The daughter of the late Samuel Hicks and the late Cassie Holbrook Hicks. Mrs. Huffman was the last of twelve children. Mrs. Huffman attended the Church of God.
Surviving Mrs. Huffman are two daughters and sons-in-law, Wilda and Carl Ranberger of Hiawassee, Linda Sue and Ron Massie of Lakeland, FL, six Grandchildren, Tim Booher(T. J., Sara, Joshua and Jessica), Robert Booher, Dawn Schwab, Robert & Sche’rie), Charlene Hicks, Penny Panstangil and Frankie Panstangil, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2006 at 2:00pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Glenn Eller officiating. The family will meet with friends following the services at the funeral home.
