Beth Bradshaw, 26 of Oxford, died on April 28, 2007. She was born in Albemarle County, VA on March 25,1981 to James Crawley Bradshaw, Jr. and the late Lydia Jean Bradshaw. Surviving are: daughter: Cierra Hudson, Oxford; father: James Bradshaw, Oxford; brothers: James C. Bradshaw, III, Covington and Lee Bradshaw, Oxford. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, May 1 at 2 p.m. at Cornish Mt. Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Barrett officiating. Interment followed at Cornish Mt. Baptist Church Cemetery. Meadows Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.

Edward L. Howard, age 66 of Newborn, Georgia died Thursday, April 26, 2007. Funeral Services were held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 29, 2007 in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. Dr. David Moody officiated. Burial was in Burial Eternal Hills Memory Gardens in Snellville. Mr. Howard retired from Ford Motor Company Tractor Division after 30 years of Service. He was a member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church and was President of Newton Hayriders Square Dance Club. Mr. Howard is survived by his wife: Mary Jane Howard of Newborn; children: Cindy & Scott Carpenter, Angie & Steve Holzhausen, Lori & Bodie Dickerson all of Loganville; mother: Annie Mae Howard of Oxford; brothers and sisters-in-law: Jerry & Paulette Howard of Decatur, William & Betty Howard of Rutledge; sisters and brother-in-law: Marie & John Gibson of Newborn, Janice Lunsford of Conyers, Jackie Jackson of Decatur; grandchildren: Bryan Howard Carpenter, Crystal Carpenter, Bryson Dickerson, Brayden Edward Dickerson, many nieces, nephews and other family members also survive.

Surviving are: Wife: Brenda Brownlee, Monroe; son: Michael Brownlee, Monroe; Mother: Adell Ethridge Brownlee, Lilburn; sisters: Avis Williams, Lilburn, Arlene Soares, Lilburn and Darlene Burrell, Loganville; brother: Tommy “Winky” Brownlee, Lilburn.

Mrs. Jessie Maude Bowen Toney
Mrs. Jessie Maude Bowen Toney, 88 of Monroe, Georgia passed away peacefully while in the immediate presence of her family on the 28th of April, 2007. She was born Sept. 8, 1918 in Bulloch County, GA. to Soloman Lee and Mamie Elizabeth Wilson Bowen and is survived by her husband of seventy years: Junior Pinkney “ JP” Toney. His navel service to our country aboard the U.S.S. Alabama during World War II and subsequent times moved the family from Athens, GA. to Norcross, GA., Doravaille, GA., then to Arnoldsville, GA. and eventually to Monroe, GA.

Doyle Sims Mitchell
Doyle Sims Mitchell, age 82 of Monroe, GA died April 22, 2007. A native of Ben Hill County, GA, he was the son of the late Guy and Inez Mitchell. He attended the University of Georgia and served in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Macleish during World War II. He moved to Monroe in 1956 to manage Deere Acres, a training school for John Deere employees. He farmed the rest of his life. He was active in the community serving as a member of the first Walton County Planning and Zoning Boards, later serving as chairman for many years. He served as a tax assessor for Walton County, was a Director of the Walton County Chamber of Commerce and was presently a Director of the Walton EMC. He was a Director of the Farmer's Bank and later served on the Wachovia Bank Advisory Board. He was one of the original Trustees of George Walton Academy known as the “Dirty Dozen.” He had served as a deacon of Mt. Creek Baptist Church for 45 years and was a 50 year member of the Campton Lodge #566 F & A. M. He was a life member of the Monroe VFW where he thoroughly enjoyed the Friday morning coffee meetings.

Elsie Alderman Hayes
Elsie Alderman Hayes, 85, Decatur, died April 17, 2007. Survivors include her daughter: Karen Hayes Lindauer, Tucker, son: Tom Hayes, Raleigh, NC; sister: JoAnne Bokros; granddaughter: Christine Cliatt; great-grandchildren Lucas and Catherine Elise Cliatt; and several nieces and nephews. An Ohio Native, Mrs. Hayes also lived in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and Tennessee before moving to Monroe in 1991. She was a Registered Nurse, working in private duty, doctors’ offices, and hospitals until she retired. Following the death of her husband, she moved to an independent senior living community in Decatur, Georgia. She was a member of Ray Memorial Presbyterian Church in Monroe. Memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, April 29, at Ray Memorial Presbyterian Church. The body was donated to Emory University School of Medicine.

Kathy Von Itter, age 54 of Loganville, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007. Funeral services were held at 3 PM Thursday, April 26, 2007 in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home . Tim Minton and Stephanie Langston officiated. Burial was at Forest lawn Cemetery, Cairo, GA. on Saturday, April 28, 2007. Mrs. Von Itter was owner of Medcare Transport, a former Respiratory Therapist at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and a former Walton County Realtor.

Carlton Ray Maddox
Carlton Ray Maddox of of Loganville died May 11th, 2007. Born on April 10th, 1935 in Atlanta, Ga. He was the son of Elon Knight & Dollie Mae Maddox. An electrician by trade, and a shrimp boat captain by passion. He is survived by his wife: Joyce Ann Maddox of Loganville; daughter: Renee Conner of Auburn; step-daughter: Sherry Cash of Lithonia; three grandchildren: Brandy Dodd, Shannon Northcutt, and Brian Stapp and was the proud great-grandfather of four boys: Triston, Noah, Tyler and Austin. He is also survived by 2 sisters: Fleta Jones of Monroe and Mary Ford of Decatur. There will be a Memorial Service on June 2 at Corinth Christian Church on Hwy 81 in Loganville at 2:00pm. There will be a Celebration of Life Reception immediately following. Covered dish welcome.

Theodore L. (Ted) Coggin, age 85 of Bostwick, GA died May 21, 2007. The son of the late Jerry M. and Claudia Treadwell Coggin, he grew up in Conyers. He resided in Avondale Estates for many years and was retired from Unissys Business Equipment, formerly Remington Rand Corp. He moved to Bostwick in 1997 and was a member of Gibbs Memorial Baptist Church. Funeral services were held May 23, 2007 in Gibbs Memorial Baptist Church. The Rev. Tom Owens and The Rev. Rusty Ruark officiated and interment was in Bostwick Cemetery.

Lewis Arthur Raulston, Jr.
Lewis Arthur Raulston, Jr. of 185 Chinquapin Way, Athens, GA died suddenly at Emerald Isle, NC. on May 22, 2007. He was born in Greensboro, NC. The son of the late Lewis Arthur Raulston, Sr. and Burt Fuller Raulston. Mr. Raulston was a 1969 graduate of Guilford College and completed post graduate studies at Clemson University. He served in the U.S. Navy Air Wing in Key West, Florida. He was associated for many years with the apparel industry in Central America, the Caribbean and Asia and was employed by Kellwood Manufacturing in Negombo, Sri Lanka. During the last few years, he was an independent consultant. He was a pilot and an avid golfer. He was a member of the Georgia Club and was a member of Tuckston United Methodist Church.

A Graveside Service was held on May 21 at 2 p.m. at Queens Family Cemetery with the Rev. Don Fuller officiating. Meadows Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.

Gladys Pratt Benton, 85 of Monroe passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2007 following an extended Illness. She is survived by: husband of 64 years: William “Barney” Benton; sons and daughter-in-law: William “Billy” and Sharon Benton, Thomas “Tom” Benton, Ruby-Michael Benton, all of Monroe; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Joan Andrews and Ileana Bentley, Monroe; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jeffery James (Fredo) Cyronis, of Social Circle died May 16,2007, at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta at the age of 39. He was a loving son, father and the best friend anyone could hope to have. Mr. Cyronis is survived by: daughter: Jacqueline (The Jackster) Marie Cyronis; step-daughter: Nikki Thompson, both of Loganville; parents: Paul and RoseMarie Cyronis, Covington. A Memorial Service for Mr. Cyronis was held on Monday, may 21 at 4 p.m. at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with the Rev. Roy Kiser officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Assistance Fund for Jacqulyn M. Cyronis at Wachovia Bank.

Madeline V. Fauss, age 89 of Loganville died Thursday, May 17, 2007. Funeral services were held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 19, 2007 in the Loganville Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home. Pastor Ronnie Kendall officiated. A homemaker and of the Baptist Faith, Mrs. Fauss was preceded in death by her husband: Clarence “Bus” Fauss in 1993; a brother: L. Clyde Horner, Jr. in 2006 and her great-granddaughter: Hannah Morris in 1995. She is survived by children: Virginia & Arnie Belknap of Piedmont, SC, Terry & Larry Corbin of Loganville, GA; sisters and brother-in-law: Lillian Horner of Parkersburg, WV, Kathryn & Tom Granfield of Oxford, GA; sister-in-law: Jean Fauss of Parkersburg, WV; 6 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years: Oscar R. Blount of Oxford, GA; one sister: Bertha Guillet of Hendersonville, NC; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at New Testament Baptist Church, 2165 Broadnax Mill Rd. Loganville, GA on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 11:00 AM where she was a faithful member of the church and the Ladies Bible Class. The Rev. Mickey Oliver will be officiating, assisted by The Rev. Russell Davis and The Rev. Gene Acker.

Thelma Morgan, age 83 of Monroe died May 18, 2007. A native of Cherokee County, she was a daughter of the late Harley and Artie Hamby Morgan. She was retired from the Monroe/Walton Mill and a member of Campton Baptist Church. Funeral services were held May 20, 2007 in the chapel of Arthur Bowick Funeral Home. The Rev. Buford Hutchins officiated and interment was in Hill Haven Memory Gardens.

Mae Fulcher Thornton, age 85 of Monroe died May 13, 2007. A native of Walton County, she was the daughter of the late William Fulcher and Carri Garrett Fulcher. She was predeceased by her husband: C. A. (Jay) Thornton. She was retired from the Walton County Hospital and attended the Lighthouse World Outreach Center. Funeral services were held May 15, 2007 at the graveside in Westlawn Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Raymond Hardy officiated. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Bill and Joyce Thornton of Lauderdale, MS; three brothers: Horace Fulcher and Felton Fulcher both of Monroe and Newman Fulcher of Conyers; five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Dallas N. House, age 79 of Monroe died suddenly on May 9, 2007. A native of Elbert County, he was the son of the late Warren D. House, Sr. and Elsie Smith House. He was retired from the U. S. Air Force and later employed at Duckhead Apparel Co. The remains were willed to the Medical College of Georgia and no formal service is planned.

MSgt. Richard Griffin Keesee, USAF (Ret)
MSgt. Richard Griffin Keesee, USAF (Ret) Richard Keesee, Warner Robins, 78, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2007. Mr. Keesee was born on April 24, 1929 in Baltimore, Md. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A career veteran, MSgt. Keesee retired from the United States Air Force after earning his rank of MSgt. He served during the Vietnam Era and the Korean Conflict. MSgt. Keesee was a Bronze Star Recipient. In addition to his military career as a Jet Engine Mechanic, he also retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base where he was employed as an Aircraft Engine Mechanic. MSgt. Keesee loved his family and took great pride in time spent with them. He was an avid race car fan, enjoyed fishing, and wood crafting. His parents, Richard and Ann Keesee, and sister, Rita Delmonico, all preceded him in death.

Glenn Stephens officiated. Burial followed at the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Moon was a member of Sharon Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband: Billy Joe Moon on June 21, 2006. She is survived by her children: Larry L. Moon, Conyers, Lori A. and Michael Vinson, Loganville; brothers: William Wilson, Conyers, Danny Wilson, Germany; sisters: Barbara Ann Chandler, Conyers; Shirley MCCullers, Loganville; Linda Allen and Sylvia Allen, both of Conyers; grandchildren: Brandi Moon, Sherri and Josh Nelson, Samantha LeAnn Vernon, Amber Nichole Vinson; great grandchildren: Simberli Rose Wallace, Bryan Wallace, Tristan Nelson and D.J. Nelson; several nieces and nephews.

Minnie Sue Tucker, age 98 of Loganville, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2007. Funeral services were held at 2 PM Tuesday, July 31, 3007 at Corinth Christian Church, Loganville. Minister Don Hardison, Minister Lester Waters & Minister Walter Stearman officiated. Burial was in Corinth Memorial Gardens, Loganville. Mrs. Tucker was the oldest member of Corinth Christian Church. She worked for Rich’s downtown for 37 years, worked for Bell Aircraft several years during W.W.II & was one of the first women to work for Atlanta Police as a Crossing Guard.
