Helga Marianne Dishner

Mrs. Helga Marianne Dishner of Fayetteville diedDecember 15, 2006. She was preceded in death by son Michael Shane Dishner. She is survived by, husband Bradley Dishner, Children, Steven Lee Dishner and Sharon Suzanne Bellam, Daughter in law Jackie Dishner. Grandchildren Robert Phillip Charlesworth, Celia Marie Charlesworth, Jessica Ann Huffman, Clayton Paul Michael Bellam, and Lauren Michelle Bellam.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Christ our Shepherd Lutheran Church. Rev John Weber, Rev. Miriam Beecher and Vicar Pam Smith officiating. iIntermentto follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Family will receive friends Monday December 18, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

Ruth E. Tallon

Mrs. Ruth E Tallon of Peachtree City diedDecember 1, 2006. She was a member of the V.F.W., Elks Club, Moose Club, American Legion, Art League of Bonita Springs, and Past Worthy President of the Eagles. Mrs. Tallon was preceded in death by husbands William J. Morrison and Daniel B. Tallon. She is survived by her children, Deborah Morrison, Saratoga, New York, William P. and Deborah Morrison, Bonita Springs, Florida, Ronald W. and Patricia Morrison, Albany, New York, Judy and Mark Fruscione, Peachtree City, Georgia, five grandchildren, brother, James O’Donnell, East Hartford, Connecticut, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday December 4, 2006 at the Faith Bible Church (Sharpsburg) at 11:00AM. Entombment Camp Memorial Park in Fayetteville. Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 PM Sunday December 3 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home Peachtree City. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis TN. 38105-1942.

Janet Holcomb

Janet Irene Holcomb, age 69, lost her battle with cancer November 30, 2006. She was marriedto Richard Holcomb until his passing in 1991. Janet retired with forty plus years of service to Alterman Foods/SuperValu in Atlanta. She was an active tennis player and member of ALTA and USTA. She is survived by her daughter Connie, two sons Greg and Chris, grandchildren Katie, Kristin, Rick and Michael, great granddaughter Ansley, and five step children Ricky, Randy, Rusty, Roger and Robin Holcomb, her mother, Irene Merck, two sisters Brenda and Jackie, and her brother Carlton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 2, 2006 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Rev. Wally Woodcock will officiate. Burial will follow at Melwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Lung Association.

Harold Thomas

Harold Roy Thomas, 78 yrs, of Jonesboro, GA diedNovember 27, 2006. He is survived by his son John Thomas of Mt. Vernon, NY; daughters Sonia Thomas of Hampton, Jennifer Thomas of Hampton, Joan & Gabriel Davis of Mt. Vernon, NY, Beverley Thomas of Fayetteville, and Avis & Kenneth Woo of Fayetteville; grandchildren Christopher Thomas, Antonio Thomas, Phillip Woo, Michelle Davis, and Lian Woo; great-grandchildren Xavier Thomas and Sidnie Thomas; step-grand daughter Kathryn Woo; brothers Norman Thomas and Horace Thomas; sister Lorna Kinlock; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday December 1, 2006 at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity from 2-4 PM. iIntermentwill follow afterward at Westminster Memorial Gardens.

Helen Hays

Helen Marie Treas Hays, 86, of Fayetteville, diedNovember 26, 2006 of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. She was bornin Brewers, Kentucky, on August 4, 1920. She was preceded in death by her eight siblings and her parents, Joseph and Roberta Treas. Helen is survived by Frank Hays, retired Delta Airlines, her loving husband of 66 years. Also surviving are two sons, Gary and Lewis, and five grandchildren, Eric, Alan, Stefanie, Brian, and Mark.

Before moving to the Fayetteville area in 1984, she lived in College Park for 30 years. She was a loving and supportive wife and mother. She and Frank enjoyed their many travels together.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. iIntermentwill be at Forest Lawn in College Park. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

The family thanks the many friends who have supported Helen in so many ways as she battled her disease. This includes neighbors, members of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, Delta Airlines friends, members of the Crossroads Garden Club, and her bridge club. Most especially, the family thanks her newly adopted family, the staff of the Alzheimer’s unit at Christian City, for the loving care they provided to her.

Elven Gallimore

Mr. Elven R. Gallimore, Jr., 77, of Atlanta, diedNovember 24, 2006. He retired in 1993 after 25 years as a Superintendent at Merico Foods, Inc. Prior to his employment at Merico, he worked for Carlings Brewery in Atlanta, GA where he was the foreman over production. He enjoyed World War II history. He also loved traveling, especially to Germany, the native country of his wife Margit. He first visited there while serving in the United States Army.

Mr. Gallimore was preceded in death by his wife Margit Knaf Gallimore, son Bruno Gallimore. He is survived by his daughter Geneva & Fred Weaver of Fayetteville; his son Elven R. Gallimore, III of Atlanta; daughter Maria & Robert Adamson of Stockbridge; grandchildren Robert Adamson, Jr., Matthew Adamson, Stephen Adamson, John Weaver, Maggie (Margit) Weaver ; and brother Dan L. & Annette Gallimore of Lilburn.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 27, 2006 at 2:00PM at Saint Gabriel Catholic Church. Father Jimmy Adams and Father Larry Schmul will officiate. iIntermentwill follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.

Stephen Burgan

Stephen Karl Burgan, 56 of Fayetteville, GA. and Ocala, Fl. Died November 22, 2006 at Southern Regional Hospital. Mr. Burgan was preceded in death by his mother Rosalyn M. Burgan. He is survived by his daughter Shan M. Burgan of Orlando, Fl; brothers David (Diana) Burgan of Indiana, Martin (Susie) Burgan of Indiana; sister Gina (Tim) Sheridan of Illinois; father Bernard (Paula) Burgan of Indiana; wife and “little buddy” Kathleen A. Baxter; step-daughter Angela Matthews and grand-daughter Emma Rose Matthews of Cleveland, GA. and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Carl J. Mowell and Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 6:00 P.M. Rev. Theo Scott will officiate.

Sarah Virginia Turner

Mrs. Sarah Virginia Turner, 93, of Fayetteville, diedNovember 22, 2006. She was a long-time member of Lisbon Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Florrie Chapman, and her husbands, Zeddie Stephens and Clarence Turner, Sr. She is survived by her extended family that includes in-laws and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 3:00 PM with remains placed in state at 2:00 pm at Lisbon Baptist Church. Reverend Carlton Swicegood and Reverend Randall Harris will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
