Funeral services will be held in the Christian City Chapel, Lester Road, Union City, GA, on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. with Minister Tony Sullivan officiating. Interment, Arlington National Cemetery.

She is survived by Eileen Farrell of Chicago; PatriceMaucere of Peachtree City; John Radigan of Lexington, Ky.; 6 Grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; many Nieces and Nephews. William S."Bill" Durkit

William Steve “Bill” Durkit, 76, of Fairburn, GA diedNovember 14, 2006. He was the oldest of 10 brothers and sisters. Mr. Durkit was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairburn. He worked for Alan Vigil Ford since 1981. He is survived by his wife Frances Durkit of Fairburn; son Robert William & Kaye Durkit of McDonough; daughter Elaine & Emory Geiger of Snellville; stepchildren Rick McCord, Tim McCord, and Rhonda Spann; grandchildren Leslie Diller, Ashley Wiley, Wesley Durkit, Aaron Durkit, and Nicole Wells; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son, Fayetteville, with Dr. Steve Batts officiating. iIntermentwill follow at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Joe Graves

Mr. Joseph “Joe” L. Graves, of Fayetteville, diedNovember 11, 2006. He is survived by his wife Helene Barge Graves of Fayetteville, sons Mickey Graves and Larry Graves, both of Fayetteville, grandchildren Shelley Graves Thomas, Andrea Graves Mueller, Brett Graves, Cappi Graves, and Kim Fortner, 11 great-grandchildren, sister Lela Mae Peek of Fairburn, brother Julius A. Graves of Fayetteville, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church. Rev. Mark Westmoreland and Rev. Gary Parrish will officiate. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Tyrone. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Sandra Holt, of McDonough, diedNovember 11, 2006. She is survived by her husband Ronald Holt of McDonough; son James & Melanie Scogin, III of Winston, GA; daughter Patricia & Kenneth Hobbs of McDonough; granddaughter Madison Jayde Scogin; grandsons James H. Scogin, IV and Jonathan Hobbs; sister Diane Hernandez of Fayetteville; brothers James Harris of Norcross and Kenneth Harris of Christmas, FL, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Rev. Glenn Stringham will officiate. Burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Gail E. Rogerson

Mrs. Gail E. Rogerson of Jonesboro diedNovember 10, 2006. Survived by her husband of 44 years, A. Ray Rogerson of Jonesboro; children, Robin R. Turner of Hampton, Jeffery Rogerson of Atlanta, Greg and Trina Rogerson of Newnan; grandchildren, Sarah, Seth and Tyler; sister, Susan Dickerson of Columbia, SC; nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Sunday Nov. 12 at 5 PM at the First Christian Church of Tyrone with Minister Billy Rowe officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 until 5 PM at the church.

Mary Purcell

Mary Purcell, 86, of Fayetteville, GA diedNovember 8, 2006. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother. She was bornin Zanesville, Ohio in 1920 to Oscar and Hazel Johnson. She moved to Atlanta in 1951 and she retired in 1985 as an Administrative Secretary with the Social Security Administration Regional Office. She was a faithful member of Bible Baptist Church in Hampton, GA for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband John B. Purcell. She is survived by daughters Margaret and James Conley of Fayetteville, Linda and Mike Hutchison of Hendersonville, TN, Marilyn and Fred Staats of Hendersonville, TN, and Donna and David Patrick of Chattanooga, TN; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Brad Blanton and Pastor Norman Pyle officiating. The body will lie in state at 10:00 AM. iIntermentSherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bible Baptist Church Mission Fund, (2780 Mt. Carmel Rd., Hampton, GA 30228) to aid a missions project in India of one of Mrs. Purcell’s grandchildren.

Mary Ann Watkins-Roach, 54 of Jonesboro diedNovember 6, 2006. She is survived by her daughters Kimberly (Chris) Sturdivant of Fayetteville and B.J. Watkins of Jonesboro; brothers Jody (Ludie) Crook of Alabama, Buck (Estelle) Crook of Alabama, Jimbo (Nancy) Crook of Alabama and Roger (Sherry) Crook of Alabama; sisters Barbara (Rod) Rodriquez of Mississippi and Evelyn (Don) Ledford of Douglasville, GA.; sister-in-law Debbie (Bill) Meaders of Jonesboro; brother-in-law Richard (Darlene) Watkins of Buford, GA. and many nieces & nephews. She is also survived by her special pets Maisie and Oscar.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Carl J. Mowell and Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville on Friday, November 10, 2006 at 2 PM. Pastor Gary Lewis will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 9, 2006 2-4 & 6-8 PM. iIntermentwill be at Sherwood Memorial Park.
