Leon “Lon” Korb, Jr., 84, of Fayetteville diedMay 12, 2008.
He was retired in 1986 as Assistant Treasurer with Life of Georgia Insurance Company.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Judith Phipps.
Mr. Korb is survived by wife Mary McCafferty Korb of Fayetteville; children Jennifer Sarles of Winchester, VA, John Randolph of Honey Creek, IA, Maura Perine of Franklin, IN, Tara Gorsky of Chicago, IL, and Shannon Nerey of Peachtree City; and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church (4881 Highway 34 East, Sharpsburg) with Father David Epps and Rev. Tony McGee officiating. iIntermentwill follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Patricia Yokeley
Patricia Yokeley passed away May 10, 2008 at her home in Fayetteville after a long battle with cancer and lung disease.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years Melvin Yokely also of Fayetteville.
Also surviving Mrs. Yokely are her 5 children Joey Yokeley of Hampton, Kathy Yokeley of Hampton, Patsy Harper of Los Angeles, CA, David Yokely of Pike Co and Bridgette Chitwood of Fayetteville.
Mrs. Yokeley has 10 grandchildren Joshua Hensley, Kendall Smith, Carol Davis, Blake Yokeley, Kristen Yokeley, Tommy Harper, Ashleigh Yokeley, Autumn Yokeley, Caleb Chitwood, and Chandler Yokeley.
She was also blessed with 3 great-grandchildren Cohen and Lincoln Czecolinski and Aralynn Davis.
She was a member of Lovejoy Baptist Church, a devout Christian, faithful wife and loving mother. She will be missed by all.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of C.J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Reverend Ken Magnus officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 to 3:00 PM.

Mary Elizabeth Atkins, 93, of Fayetteville diedMay 11, 2008.
She was preceded in death by husband George Atkins and son Ed Atkins grandchildren Cliff and James Baker.
She is survived by daughters Consobrina Elizabeth Harrington of Greenville, FL and June and Calvin Baker of Hampton; great-grandchildren Megan Baker and Alex Evans; special niece Shirley “Bug” and Junior Morgan; great Nieces Anita Brannon and Geraldine Knowles; great nephew Wesley Morgan; and other nieces and nephews.

John Ferman Lore, Sr.
Mr. John F. Lore, Sr. of Senoia passed away May 9, 2008.
He was a veteran of WW II having in the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne in Europe. Survived by his wife, Alice Lore of Senoia; children, John F. Lore, Jr., Edward Lore, James Lore, George Lore, all of Senoia, Margie Carder of Alabama, Liz Holman of Manchester, GA.
He was a loving grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.

Henry A. Brewer
Henry A. “Bud” Brewer diedunexpectedly May 9, 2008.
He lived a long and loving life since his birth on Jan 4th, 1931, to Austin and Flora Brewer, in Rossville, GA.
By age 26, Bud was happily marriedto Carolyn Gant Brewer, and the proud father of four children.
The marriage dissolved after 25 years and four years later, Bud marriedanother dynamic woman, Jeanette Hipp.
In helping care for Jeanette’s disabled son, David, Bud found his life’s work.
He and friend Larry Washburn, co-founded B&W Handicap Equipment in Fayetteville, helping disabled individuals find independence.
Eventually, Bud semi-retired and turned the shop over to his son Christopher Brewer, who runs it still today.
A great sorrow in Buds’ life was when Jeanette’s son, David died.
Then after 25 years of marriage, and caring for Jeanette through her last illness, Bud was devastated by her death in 2004.
He found happiness again when he met, and then married, Elizabeth Bush in 2006.
Together they enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with their large, extended and blended families.
Bud was known for his kind heart, love for many, especially his grandchildren, love of reading, and love of America’s National Parks.
Bud is survived by his wife Betty, sisters Ernestine Keene and Juanita Horton; daughters Donna H. Smith and Brenda C. Brewer; sons David Brewer, Christopher Brewer and wife Lisa Brewer, and Sean Brewer and wife Vivian Brewer; plus Betty’s children, Diana Bush, Rebecca Bush, and Kristy Bush, and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 13 at 11 AM in the chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son with Rev. Sue Riggle officiating.

William F. Smith, Jr.
Mr. William F. (Bill) Smith, Jr. of Fayetteville passed away May 8, 2008.
He was a retired Senior Customer Service Agent at Delta Airlines with 30 years of service.
He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Mr. Smith enjoyed community service thru Kiwanis and his church and was an active coach in his son’s sports and cub scouts.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Robyn Ann (Doyal) Smith; and his daughter-in-law, Meg (Kibler) Smith.
Survived by his son, William McBrayer Smith of Fayetteville; grandson, Benjamin McBrayer Smith of Fayetteville; sisters, Barbara Foster of Forsyth, Susan Hewett of Forsyth, brothers, Bob Smith of Jacksonville, FL, Ronnie Smith of Harrisburg, PA; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday May 12 at 2 PM at the Fayette Presbyterian Church with remains placed instate at 1 PM. Rev. John J. Skelly and Rev. Cliff Haddox officiating. iIntermentwill follow in Camp Memorial Park.

Mr. Carl E Bennett, Jr.
Mr. Carl E Bennett, Jr. of Brooks, GA. diedNovember 30, 2006. He was a veteran of WWII having served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He fought on Guadalcanal and was awarded the Purple Heart as a result of wounds received on New Britain.
He was privileged to be an Honor Guard for President Franklin D. Roosevelt in Warm Springs, GA.
He was preceded in death by Mrs. Gertrude Weiner Bennett and Mrs. Helen Bryant Bennett.
He is survived by his children: daughter, Carole Bennett Hoffman, and Robert Hoffman of Dallas, TX, son, Robert K. and Mary W. Bennett of Phila., PA, son, Stuart N. and Phyllis W. Bennett of Brooks, GA, and step-son, Louis J. Bryant, of Mobile, AL.
His grandchildren are: Kevin Bennett, Tara Powers, Kelli Cooper and Christopher Bennett; great-grandchildren: Lauren, Emily, Ashton, Isabella and Ben.
He is also survived by his sister, Beulah Martin of Waynesboro, MS.
Funeral services will be held Monday Dec. 4 at 11 AM in the chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son in Peachtree City with Pastor Sam Phillips and Pastor Pam Smith officiating.
