Mrs. Linda L. Barrett of Peachtree City diedSaturday November 24, 2007.

Linda was a member of the Peachtree City First Baptist Church where she worked as a parish nurse.

She was also a member of the Baptist Nurses Fellowship of Georgia and several other nursing associations and the DAR.

She is survived by her husband, Edgar B. (Butch) Barrett of Peachtree City; children, David Barrett and his wife Sheila of New York, New York; Cynthia Barrett of Nashville, TN; Sarah Barrett of San Diego, CA; mother, Mrs. Mona Williams of Senoia; brothers, Dean Williams of Fayetteville; Richard Williams of Jacksonville, FL; Alan Williams of Irmo, SC.

Memorial services will be held Saturday December 1, 2007 at 2:00PM at the Peachtree City First Baptist Church with Dr Steve Bingham officiating.

Mrs. Lois Jeanne Barber

Lois Jeanne Barber, 77, of Fayetteville diedOctober 25, 2007.

She retired from United Airlines after 27 years and was a member of the Dixie Flyers.

She was preceded in death by a sister Virginia Parker and a brother Robert Prehn.

She is survived by her husband Gene Barber; daughter Sandra Hopfensperger of Las Vegas, NV; sons Walter Streid of Stone Mountain, GA, Gene S. Barber of Philadelphia, PA, Eric A. Barber of Ozark, MO, Michael S. Barber of Rolling Meadows, IL, and William K. Barber of Maple Park, IL; grandchildren Scott Streid, Kristine Reed, Kay Hopfensperger, Jay Hopfensperger, Stephanie Barber, Nancy Barber and Emily Barber; great-grandchildren Brady and Bailey Streid and Rachel Reed; brother George Prehn; and nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Saturday, October 27, 2007 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the Chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.

Mrs. Virginia L. Ballard

Virginia L. Ballard, 92, of Fayetteville passed away October 5, 2007.

Mrs. Ballard had worked in the cafeteria at Fayette County High School for 10 years, she was also a member of Inman United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Ballard and a son Travis Ballard.

Survivors include a son Forrest & Sara Ballard of Fayetteville Grandchildren Deborah Morris, Danny Ballard, Kim Bradford, Kay Young, Visa Thompson, and Tammy McCabe, 10 great-grandchildren sister Edna Brown.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 8, 2007 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Fayetteville Chapel with Rev. Royeese Stowe officiating.

The interment will be at Inman UMC cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday 5-7 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Vickie Ray Bahr

Mrs. Vickie Ray Bahr, age 53, passed peacefully from this life on September 15, 2007 surrounded by her loving family and friends following a four year struggle with renal failure. Born June 12, 1954, Vickie graduated in 1972 from Hapeville High School.

She was employed by Eastern Airlines and later Northwest Airlines as a Lead Payroll Clerk. She resided in Fayetteville, GA for the past 5 years.

Vickie had a gift for making those around her feel special and will always be remembered as a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She now joins her heavenly friends and family members who await her coming with open arms.

Mrs. Bahr is survived by her son, Jason and Jessica Bahr of Atlanta and his father, Tom Bahr; grandson, Cashen Tyler Bahr of Atlanta; parents, Howell and Helen Ray of Fayetteville; sister, Judy and Michael Williams of Fayetteville; step-daughters, Amy Slone and Kristy Trout; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 18 at 11 AM at the North Fayette United Methodist Church with remains placed instate at 10 AM. Reverend Doug Burrell will officiate.

iIntermentwill follow at Camp Memorial Park. The family will receive friends between the hours of 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Beverly Dorrell Askew

Beverly Dorrell Askew, 69, of Peachtree City diedNovember 16, 2007.

Mrs. Askew attended The First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City, she was a former Sunday school teacher at Morrow Presbyterian Church.

She was also a member of the Swinging Seniors Bowling League.

Mrs. Askew retired from General Motors after over 30 yrs of service.

Survivors include spouse Walter Kinney, sons and daughter Jack, Hugh, Jeff Askew, `Mike, and Angela Kinney, 13 Grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, mother Fannie Mae Crain, Sister Donna Rowe, and Brother Robert Crain and also nieces & Nephews.

Services will be held 2 PM Monday, November 19, 2007 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Peachtree City Chapel with Rev. Earl Bland officiating.

The interment will be at Westview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday 4-6 PM at the funeral Home.

Mrs. Thelma Louise Armour

Mrs. Thelma Louise Armour, 89, of Fayetteville, diedAugust 16, 2007.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jesse & Maude Strickland, husband Alonzo “Buddy” Armour, son Wayne Armour and daughter Virginia Armour.

She is survived by children Jimmy & Carol Armour of Cleveland, GA, Carolyn & Rick Stanley of Fayetteville, Barbara Cook of Woodbury and Terry Armour of Fayetteville; grandchildren David Armour, Stephen Armour, Christopher Stanley, Matthew Stanley, Tracie Cook and Dewayne Cook; great-grandchildren Christopher Armour, Patrick Armour, Manderley Armour, Rebecca Armour, Chandler Stanley and Brandon Cook; sisters Hazel McCafferty of Macon and Nell Caldwell of Hartwell and brothers Paul & Pat Strickland of Fayetteville and Raymond Strickland of Gray, GA.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Rev. Glenn Stringham will officiate. iIntermentwill follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Allen Anthony

Mary Elizabeth Allen Anthony, Known to most as Libby bornin the 5th month 25th day in the year of our lord 1946 departed for her eternal journey home December 5, 2007.

Mrs. Anthony was the daughter of the late Hershel Eugene Allen.

She was also preceded in death by a great nephew Cory Chase Briard.

Survived by her husband, John Anthony; mother, Margaret Elizabeth McClellan Allen; a daughter, DeAnna Michelle Fain Butera; son, Gregory Waylon Byars; sisters, Shirley Allen Weese and Betty Allen Briard; brother, William Wade Palmer; nephews, Richard Emory Briard, his wife Gina Lanier Briard and daughter Morgan Emori, and Malcolm Eugene Briard, his wife Judi Ivey Briard and son Richard Devon Briard; aunt Francis McClellan, cousin Josie Patterson and many other aunts & uncles, cousins & friends.

Although she is now gone from our sight she will always remain forever in our hearts.

A Memorial service to celebrate her life will be held 10 AM Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Fayetteville Chapel with Rev. Stan Berrong officiating.

Mr. Frank Eugene “Gene” Anderson

Frank Eugene “Gene” Anderson, 86, was bornand raised in Atlanta and passed away in his home February 7, 2008.

He served in the US Navy in WW II.

Mr. Anderson was a loving husband of Tommie Lou Daniel Anderson and Triever Anderson.

He was a member of Lakewood Masonic Lodge and retired from Arrow Shirt Company.

He was also a master wood worker.

He was preceded in death by wives Tommie Lou Anderson and Triever Anderson; and sons Rodney and Danny Anderson.

He is the father of three surviving children daughter and son-in-law Toni and John Hozey, daughter and son-in-law Tami and Ted Kemberling, and son Wayne Anderson; the proud Grandfather of five grandchildren Shane Hozey, Lindsay Edge of Grovetown, Greg Anderson, Luanna and Ted E. Kimberling of Fayetteville; three great-grandchildren Shelby, Cody Hozey and L.B. Edge of Grovetown; 2 special brothers-in-law Ronnie and Gary Daniel and numerous other family members.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, February 10, 2008 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of C.J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville with Rev. Mark Westmoreland officiating.

iIntermentwill be at Forest Park City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
