Sarah Virginia "Sal" Sims Woodlee, 80, of Barnesville diedFriday, Jan. 30, 1998 in Atlanta.
A Barnesville native, Mrs. Woodlee was the daughter of the late Frank George and Jennie Woodall Sims and was the widow of Richard James Woodlee. She was a retired bookkeeper for Barnesville Hardware and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennie Woodlee of Atlanta; a sister, Ellen Sims Patton of Highlands, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Sunday, Feb. 1, 1998 in Barnesville First United Methodist Church. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Davidson officiated.

Dorothy Banks Fletcher
Dorothy Banks Fletcher, 72, of Lamar County, diedTuesday, March 31, 1998.
A native of Lamar County, she was the daughter of the late Dorsey and Susie Dumas Banks. She was a member of Sandhill CME Church, where she was an usher on the Missionary Board until her health failed. She was educated in the Lamar County School System and was employed as a clerk for the Barnesville Motel.
Survivors include her husband, John Fletcher Sr. of Barnesville; eight children and their spouses, Charlie and Carla Fletcher Sr. of Dublin, Betty and Tommy Bentley, Cathy and Clarence Fletcher of Boston, Mass., Linda and John Thurman, John and Shirley Fletcher Jr., and Hewlette Fletcher, all of Barnesville, Jackie and Sequita Fletcher of Fayetteville and David and Tammie Fletcher of Nolanville, Texas; 26 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Virden and Mary Banks, both of West Palm Beach, Fla.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Raymond Head of West Palm Beach, Fla., Milton and Cora Fletcher, Vivian Banks, Easter Collier and Charlie and Lizzie Mae Williams, all of Barnesville, J.C. and Martha Fletcher of Atlanta, Lucille Ransom of Seaside, Calif., Oscar Fletcher of Dayton, Ohio, Lillian and Hugh Franklin of Griffin, Otis and Lunelle Fletcher of Gainesville and Fannie Williams of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services were held Monday, April 6, 1998 at Sandhill CME Church. The Rev. Kerry Francis officiated.

Willie Mae Blackmon
Willie Mae Blackmon, 93, of The Rock diedSaturday, Nov. 21, 1998 at Heritage Inn in Barnesville.
An Upson County native, Mrs. Blackmon was the widow of Jessie Blackmon. She was a cloth inspector retired from Thomaston Mills.
Survivors include a son, James C. Blackmon of The Rock; a brother, Rev. I.G. Johnson of Thomaston; a half-brother, Ed McHargue of The Rock; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Services were held Monday, Nov. 23, 1998 at Salem Cemetery in The Rock. Rev. George Phillips officiated.
Pauline G. Weaver
Pauline G. Weaver, 75, of Barnesville diedSaturday, Nov. 28, 1998 at her residence.
A native of Monroe County, she lived in Lamar County most of her life. She was a charter member of Pine View Baptist Church and was a lab technician retired from the textile industry.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Clark of Baton Rouge, La.
Services were held Monday, Nov. 30, 1998 in Forsyth City Cemetery. Rev. Ken Terrell officiated.
Alvin Randall Wilkie
Alvin Randall Wilkie, 78, of Barnesville diedThursday, Nov. 26, 1998.
A Cobb County native, Mr. Wilkie lived most of his life in Marietta. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the Navy Sea Bees in the Pacific Theater. He retired as the maintenance director for the Cobb County school system.
Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Lee Montrose of Barnesville, Bobbie Jean and Ray Landry of Covington and Rebecca Grizzle of Marietta; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two nephews.
Services were held Friday, Nov. 27, 1998 at Paces Family Cemetery in Vinings. Rev. Richard Harris officiated.

The daughter of the late George and Mattie Pierson Brown, Miss Brown was a homemaker and was a member of Sharon Primitive Baptist Church in Monroe County.
Survivors include her brother and two sisters, Allison Brown, Virginia Noll and Sue McSwain, all of Culloden.
Services were held Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999 at Sharon Primitive Baptist Church. Burial was in the Pierson Family Cemetery.

Gladys White Cook
Gladys White Cook, 80, of Barnesville diedFriday, Feb. 12, 1999.
Mrs. Cook was the daughter of the late John and Fannie White and was a beautician.
Survivors include her brother and two sisters, John White and Frances Cloud, both of Barnesville, and Bessie Brown of Cleveland, Tenn.
Services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999 in Greenwood Cemetery at 11 a.m. Rev. I.W Bowen will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
