Maude Heath Eason McBroom, 88, of Barnesville diedThursday, Feb. 24, 2000 at Upson Regional Medical Center in Thomaston.
A Bartow County native, Mrs. McBroom was the daughter of the late Edgar Lee and Josephine Kiser Heath and was the widow of George L. McBroom and Melvin Eason. She was a homemaker and was a charter member of Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Barnesville.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin Lee and Elizabeth Eason of Jackson and Robert A. and Memphis Eason of Milstead; two daughters and sons-in-law, Louise Easton and David Grisham of Harrison, Tenn., and Carol Eason and Edward Griffin of Barnesville; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Martin Heath and Clarence and Ruby Heath, all of Cartersville; two sisters-in-law, Willie Pearl Heath of Cartersville and Martha Lucille McBroom of Barnesville; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Aaron and Mervin Eason of Thomaston; W.T. and Jean McBroom and Bernard and Ann McBroom, all of Barnesville, and Ralph and Ethel McBroom of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Revs. Perry Pace, Hubert Hammond and Chuck Tatum officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.

Norman D. Peterson Sr. of Milner diedFriday, Jan. 28, 2000 in Ames, Iowa.
He was predeceased by his father, a son and grandson.
Survivors include his wife Dorothy Sue Peterson; four children, Norman G. Peterson Jr. and Shelly Todd, both of Fayetteville; Shawn E. Peterson of Barnesville and Sherry Olson of Norcross; five stepchildren, James Dean Collett of Alabama, Johnny Lee Collett of Sparta, Timothy Wayne Collett of Lansing, Mich., Carolyn Sue Norton of Marietta and Deborah Joyce West of Greenville, S.C.; mother, Lida P. Boutwell Peterson; six brothers, Robert Peterson of Waterloo, Iowa, Arlan Peterson of Aurora, Neb., Lary Peterson of Lincoln, Neb., Ronnie Peterson, Dennis Peterson of Webster City, Iowa and Kenth Peterson of Iowa Falls, Iowa; six sisters, Lynn Fisher of Hampton, Iowa, Joanie Hammond of Eldora, Iowa, Sally Bakke and Phillis Bakke, both of Iowa Falls, Lori of Waucoma, Iowa, and Reneé Trienen of Malone, Wis.; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Robert Jefferson Thompson
Robert Jefferson "Bobby" Thompson, 76, of Thomaston diedWednesday, Feb. 23, 2000 at an Atlanta medical center.
A native of Thomaston and lifelong resident of Upson County, Mr. Thompson was a loom technician retired from B.F. Goodrich. He was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church and was a World War II Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Thompson of Thomaston; a son, Jeffrey Thompson of Thomaston; daughter, Janice Adams of Thomaston; five brothers, Charles Thompson, Jimmy Thompson and Moses Thompson, all of Barnesville, Hugh Thompson of Thomaston and Junior Thompson of Phenix City, Ala.; five sisters, Martha Gibson of Thomaston and Sara Hearn, Linda Walker and Joyce Waller, all of Barnesville, and Betty Wilson of Milner; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Friday, Feb. 25 at New Harmony Baptist Church in Thomaston. Revs. Darnell Teal and Junior Thompson officiated. Burial was in Upson Memorial Gardens.

Windy Rena Barber Wyatt, 33, of Barnesville diedWednesday, Feb. 23, 2000.
Survivors include her parents, Mildred Barber of Barnesville and Earnest Barber of Cleveland, Ohio.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 26 at Sardis Baptist Church in Barnesville. Revs. W.K. Richardson, Claude A. Franklin and Sandy Allen Jr. officiated.

Mary Rose Hamrick Cato
Mary Rose Hamrick Cato, 85, of Highway Street, Thomaston, diedTuesday, Aug. 29, 2000 at Providence Nursing Care Center.
A Pike County native, Mrs. Cato lived most of her life in Thomaston. She was a spooler for the B.F. Goodrich Company before retirement and was a member of East Thomaston Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Grady Cato of Thomaston; two stepsons, Larry Cato of Abbeville, S.C., and Ronnie Cato of Thom-aston; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, six nieces and three nephews including William Hamrick Jr., Vivian Jamerson, Virginia Carr and Shirley Dawson, all of Barnesville; and two sisters-in-law including Bertha Edwards of Barnesville.
Services were held Thursday, Aug. 31 at East Thomaston Baptist Church. Revs. Joey Smith and T.P. Hadley officiated. Burial was in Upson Memorial Gardens.

Sarah Florence Davis Greer
Sarah Florence Davis Greer, 76, of Washington, D.C., formerly of Barnesville, diedFriday Sept. 15, 2000.
A Fulton County native, Mrs. Greer was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Grady Lee Davis and the widow of George B. Greer of Barnesville. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Barnesville, having taught Sunday School, Acteens and pre-school for many years as well as being involved in other church organizations. She was also a past member of the Barnesville Women’s Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Christine G. Ehrenberg of Fort Washington, Md., and Kelley G. Turner of Barnesville; a son, Bill Greer of Concord, N.C.; four grandchildren, Joshua A. Ehrenberg of Pensacola, Amy Ehrenberg of Fort Washington, Savannah and Marleigh Turner both of Barnesville and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Sebastian Ehrenberg, both of Pensacola.
Services were held Monday, Sept. 18 at First Baptist Church. Rev. Garth Forster officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Barnesville.

Maybelle Cleo Miller
Maybelle Cleo Miller, 91, of Van Buren Road, Barnesville diedThursday, Sept. 14, 2000 at her residence after a long illness.
A native of Rhea, Tenn., Mrs. Miller was the daughter of the late Arthur W. and Minnie Mae Wright Jordan and was the widow of Joseph Hawkin Miller. She was preceded in death by her daughter Shirley Long and sons Norman Miller and Joe Miller. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church for about 18 years and was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Susie Curtsell of Walton Creek, Calif., and Peggy Kislinger of Mukilteo, Wash.; two sisters, MildredFrazier and Willie Mae Sullivan, both of Graysville, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday, Sept. 16 at Lamar Memory Gardens. Rev. Franklin Gibson officiated.

Willie James Mitchell
Willie James "Mitch" Mitchell, 39, of Railroad Street, Molena, diedWednesday, Sept. 13, 2000.
Mr. Mitchell was a 1980 graduate of Pike County High School, where he played football. He was a member of White Plain Baptist Church and was an employee of Thomaston Mills.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Mary Helen Harris Mitchell of Molena; three children, Dexter Mitchell, Kolmethia Mitchell and Corderiol Mitchell, all of Molena; mother, Mary Catherine Mitchell of Molena; six sisters and brothers and their spouses, Mary and Rev. Edgar Lamar, Shirleylisa Mitchell and Johnny Cash Mitchell, all of Molena, Opail and Darrell Alexander of Williamson, Charles and Melinda Mitchell and John Horace and Bell Wellmaker, all of Barnesville; father-in-law, John Willie Harris of Atlanta; mother-in-law, Mary E.
