Margie Marie Adair Gift, 75, of Navajo Court, Barnesville, diedSunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon.
A native of Putnam, Okla., Mrs. Gift had lived in Barnesville 37 years. She was a member of First Christian Church in Seiling, Okla.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Elden Ross “Fuzz” Gift; three daughters, Linda Ruth Gift Akins of Barnesville, Penny Sue Gift Clark of Warner Robins and Tracey Marie Gift Dell of Forsyth; three sisters, Mrs. Robert Verville, Mrs. Keith Harris and Mrs. Robert Everett, all of Wichita, Kan.; seven grandchildren, April Dawn Clark Browning, Roy David Clark, Michelle Leigh Clark, Amanda Ashley Akins Horne, Adrienne Adair Akins, Taylor Lewis Dell and Ashlyn Marie Dell; and four great-grandchildren, Collin Browning, Meghan Clark, Zachary Bunn and Elizabeth Crawley.
Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Haisten-Martin Funeral Home in Barnesville. Rev. Gil McGinnis officiated. Burial was in Lamar Memory Gardens.
Grover C. Ginn
Grover C. Ginn, 75, diedThursday, Nov. 29, 2001, after a battle with cancer.
A Barnesville native, Mr. Ginn was bornSept. 28, 1926, to the late Vera Rudasill and Grover Cleveland Ginn. He was a graduate of Gordon Military Academy and the University of Georgia and was a World War II Army veteran, serving in Japan, and a Korean War veteran. He was employed by Atlanta Gas Light Company for 34 years, retiring in 1990 as the Atlanta customer service manager.
Survivors include his wife, Bess Talbert Ginn of Atlanta; two sons, Clint Ginn and Jack Ginn, both of Atlanta; two daughters-in-law, Jenny Guilbert Ginn and Jodie Golden Ginn, both of Atlanta; a sister, Leonora Ginn of Barnesville; a brother, Calvin Ginn of Barnesville; and four grandsons, Thomas Ginn, Nicholas Ginn, Jason Ginn and Avery Ginn, all of Atlanta.
Services were held Sunday, Dec. 2, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur. Revs. David Hancock and Susan Ashe and Dr. Dan Rice officiated. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Oak Grove building fund, 1722 Oak Grove Rd., Decatur, 30033.

Helen Guimento
Helen Guimento, 75, of Old Highway 41, Milner, diedWednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at Spalding Regional Hospital in Griffin.
A lifelong resident of Milner, Mrs. Guimento was bornJan. 18, 1926 and was a member of Milner Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Cataldo “Cal” Guimento; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Betsy Guimento of Griffin; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin Smith and William Henderson of Marietta; a sister and brother-in-law, Bettye and Reuben Perkins of Milner; four grandchildren, Tiffany, Whitney and Ashley Guimento of Griffin and Michael Smith of Marietta; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday, Dec. 1, in Milner Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Ted Moody officiated.

Dorothy Tyus Johnson
Dorothy Tyus Johnson, 90, of Atlanta diedMonday, Nov. 12, 2001, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
The daughter of the late Dora and Lewis Tyus of Barnesville, Mrs. Johnson was marriedSept. 15, 1934, to the late Clarence F. Johnson and had lived in Atlanta since 1940. She was a graduate of Brenau College in Gainesville where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and was a member of Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church in Atlanta and its Alethea Sunday School class, the Camellia Garden Club and Atlanta Historical Society.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Johnson Glass; son-in-law, Peter Brooks Glass of Atlanta; sister, Peggy Tyus O’Dell of Barnesville; and two granddaughters, Dorothy Marie Glass and Hayden Brooks Glass.
Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Patterson’s Spring Hill. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Barnesville.
Memorials may be made to Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church or the donor’s favorite charity.

Calvin Wesley Littleton Sr.
Calvin Wesley Littleton Sr., 71, of Barnesville diedTuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, in an Atlanta hospital.
An Upson County native, Mr. Littleton lived most of his adult life in Lamar County. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Will Littleton, was retired from the Wllliam Carter Company and was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Blackmon Littleton of Barnesville; his son, Calvin Wesley Littleton Jr. of Barnesville; a sister, Doris Hale of Thomaston; and a brother, John Will Littleton Jr. of Thomaston.
Services were held Friday, Nov. 30, at White Columns Funeral Home. Rev. Franklin Gibson officiated. Burial was in Lamar Memory Gardens.
Norman Douglas Manley
Navy Chief Petty Officer Norman Douglas Manley, 37, diedFriday, Nov. 23, 2001, in Mt. Vernon, Wash.
Born July 6, 1964 in DeKalb County, he was a 1982 graduate of M.D. Collins High School. His mother’s family live in Lamar County. He was stationed at NAS Whidby Island in Oak Harbor, Wash.
Survivors include his parents, Norman A. and Anne Goggans Manley of College Park; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard Keith and Cindy Manley of Peachtree City and James Phillip Manley of Orangeburg, S.C.; and a nephew, Nicholas Manley of Peachtree City.
Graveside services were held Friday, Nov. 30, in Forest Lawn Cemetery will full military honors.

Lorise Mansur, 72, of Houston, Texas, diedSaturday, Dec. 1, 2001.
Survivors include a son, Michael Mansur of Houston; a daughter, Charise Mansur of Houston; a twin sister, Lorine Kannon of Bellmont, N.C., and sister, Mable Deraney of Barnesville.
Services were held Monday, Dec. 3, at St. Francis Desalle Catholic Church in Houston.

Helen Zellner Piper
Helen Zellner Piper, 63, of Community House Road, Barnesville, diedSaturday, Dec. 1, 2001, in Perry.
A native of Monroe County, Mrs. Piper was the daughter of the late Elrod and Ruby Wilson Zellner and lived in Barnesville most of her life. She was a member of McDonough Road Baptist Church and the owner of Buddy’s Restaurant in Forsyth for over 30 years.
Survivors include her husband, William T. Piper Sr.; two sons, William T. Piper Jr. and Dennis Jay Piper, both of Barnesville; three brothers, Cecil Zellner of Bolingbroke, Thomas Zellner of Byron and Bobby Zellner of Barnesville; two sisters, Peggy Wilson and Evelyn Salas, both of Perry; six grandchildren, Nicholas Piper, William T Piper III, Carlton Gus Piper, Courtney Piper, Madelyn Piper and Lydia Piper; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. at Haisten-Martin Funeral Home in Barnesville. Revs. Henry Vaughn and Franklin Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
