Mr. James Carl Beanblossom, 61, of Irwinville died Monday, April 11, 2005 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Services were held at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald on Thursday, April 14 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Doug Gibson, Rev. Stan Bowen and Rev. Tim Clark officiating. Interment followed in the Irwinville Cemetery.
Music was provided by Dean Davis.
Pallbearers were Johnny Luke, Herman McIntyre, Cal Beanblossom, Glenn Luke, John McCall, Dan Miller and Kevin Luke.
Honorary pallbearers were David Malcolm and Clint Bloodworth.
Mr. Beanblossom was born November 29, 1943 in Irwin County, son of the late Clarence Earl and Ethel Mae Paulk Beanblossom. He was a 1962 graduate of Irwin County High School. Mr. Beanblossom was a farmer and avid fisherman. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Irwinville Baptist Church and a veteran of the Georgia National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Janis S. Beanblossom of Irwinville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Michael Goodman of Irwinville and Paula and Reuben Reaves of Nashville; five grandchildren, Monica Goodman, Miranda Goodman, Montana Goodman, James Paul Reaves and Marlaina Reaves; a brother, Earl Beanblossom of Sylvester and a sister, Ann Paulk of Bonaire. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth B. Golden.

Mary Fowler Hendley
Mrs. Mary Fowler Hendley, 71, of Ocilla died Thursday, April 5, 2005 at Beverly Health Care in Tifton.
Services were held at Mystic Baptist Church on Thursday, April 7 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Sonny Pate and Rev. Issac Thomas officiating. Interment followed in Mystic Cemetery.
Mrs. Hendley was born July 21, 1933 in Ben Hill County, daughter of the late Monroe Fowler and Addie Wright Fowler. She was the former owner and operator of the Georgia-Florida Motor Court in Monticello, FL and former secretary at Thompson Auto Parts in Ocilla. She was a member of Mystic Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Evelyn H. Brannen of Monticello, FL; two grandchildren, Vee Brannen of Monticello, FL and Karen Brannen of Destin, FL; two sisters, Latrelle Nagles of Sycamore and Elaine Barton of Quitman; two step-daughters, Mavis Rowe and Tina Hendley, both of Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymon Albert Hendley and two brothers.

Beulah S. Kilgore
Mrs. Beulah S. Kilgore, 91, of the Pinetta community in Irwin County died Sunday, April 10, 2005 at Tift Health Care in Tifton.
Services will be held at Pinetta Baptist Church, Irwin County on Wednesday, April 13 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Bobby Stone and Rev. Roger Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Kilgore was born November 4, 1913 in Cleburne County, AL, daughter of the late William A. and Elizabeth Carpenter Shealy. She lived in Irwin County most of her life. Mrs. Kilgore was a homemaker, a farm wife and former lunchroom lady at Mystic High School. She was a former member of the Home Demonstration Club and a member of Pinetta Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Sarah K. Hand of Tifton and Lou Bell K. Carr of Melbourne, FL; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Kilgore, a grandson and four brothers.

Nedia Ruth Price
Mrs. Nedia Ruth Price, 77, of Ocilla died Monday, April 4, 2005 at her residence.
Services were held at the Ocilla Church of God on Wednesday, April 6 at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Eugene Evors, Rev. Dewain Joiner and Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Phil Croft, Travis Shinholster, Lanny Sloan, Robbie Davis, Edward Veal and Jamie Baggett.
Honorary pallbearers were 60’s & UP Sunday School Class.
Music was provided by pianist, Wendy Dowd; soloist, Joey Mykytka; trumpeter, Travis Shinholster and Duet of Brett and Mollie Jarriel
Mrs. Price was born April 28, 1927 in Montgomery County, daughter of the late Lee and Lula Dixon Lewis. She retired with over 30 years service as a cafeteria worker at Irwin County Elementary School. She was a member of the Ocilla Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, James Price of Ocilla; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Rose Croft of Douglas and Kenny and Karen Croft of Ocilla; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and David Spicer of Fitzgerald; three step-sons, Jimmy Price, Jr. and John Wayne Price, both of Nashville, TN; and Michael Price of Bowling Green, KY; step-daughter, Sue Ellen Eget of Cleveland, OH; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

Suzanne Hollomon
Mrs. Suzanne Hollomon, 29, of Fitzgerald died Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Services were held at Ocilla Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 5 at 11 a.m., with Rev. B. J. Funk officiating. Interment was held in Douglas City Cemetery.
Mrs. Hollomon was born February 24, 1976 in Coffee County, daughter of Larry Elliott Thomas and the late Nancy Jackson Thomas. A 1994 graduate of Irwin County High School, Mrs. Hollomon attended East Central Technical College. She was employed with Irwin County Hospital and Dorminy Medical Center. A member of Ocilla Baptist Church, she attended Covenant Church in Douglas.
Survivors include her husband, Kendall Hollomon of Fitzgerald; father and step-mother, Larry E. and Jennie Thomas of Douglas; brother and sister-in-law, Chad and Christi Thomas of Douglas; sister and brother-in-law, Dawn and Rusty Roberts of Douglas; grandmother, Mildred Thomas of Douglas; one nephew, Blake Roberts of Douglas; three nieces, Rebecca Roberts, Madelyn Thomas and Reagan Thomas, all of Douglas and a brothr-in-law, Jonathan Hollomon of Kitsville, OH.
Clifford Harris Jay
Mr. Clifford Harris Jay of Irwin County died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Henry Medical Center in Stockbridge/McDonough. He was 88.
Mr. Jay was born February 23, 1917 in Ben Hill County, son of the late James Jay and Callie Malloy Jay. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dereasa Thomas Jay.
He was a past member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He later became affiliated with The Church of the Kingdom of God where he received his spiritual name “Bro. Daniel”. He served faithfully for over 60 years in many capacities, both with the Fitzgerald family and the Bartow, FL family.
Survivors include eight children, Johy E. Jay (Geraldine, Aretha J. Hardy, Charles A. Jay (Barbara), Clara J. Fountain, Norris L. Jay (Mary), Hattie J. Howard (James), Troy B. Jay (Rhonda) and Thereasa A. Jay-Elzie (Drew); a daughter-in-law, Lonnie Jay; two sisters-in-law, Rhunette Jay and Grace Bellamy; two brothers-in-law, J. T. Thomas (Mary and Ralph Thomas (Carrie); 22 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services were held at The Church of the Kingdom of God in Douglas, with Bishop W. J. Toomer officiating. Interment was in Macedonia Cemetery, Wray.
Music was provided by the congregation and soloist, Sister Annie P. Stepherson.
Active pallbearers were Albert Jay, Gregory Jay, Norris Jay, Kareem Jay, Troy Jay, Steven Jay, John Jay and Ellis Jay-Elzie.
Honorary Pallbearers were brothers of The Church of the Kingdom of God.
Dollie Rayford
Mrs. Dollie Rayford of Ocilla died Sunday, March 27, 2005 after a short stay at Osceola Nursing Home. She was 88.
Mrs. Rayford was born March 12, 1917 in Ocilla, daughter of the late Sarah Lester Williams and Cornellious D. Williams. She was a member of Broaches Chapel C. M. E. Church. There Dollie served in all capacities faithfully.
Dollie met and married Mr. Oscar Rayford. She was employed with the Board of Education and Sunny Dale Training Center. She also kept children in the community.
She reared three children, Janie Bishop, Annette Bennett and Lucious Bell, Jr. Lucious preceded her in death. Ms. Rayford’s sisters, Sarah Cotton, Nora Mae Williams, Josephine Mann, Hattie Williams and a special nephew, Paul Williams, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her nieces, Annette Bennett, Janie Bishop, Gloria Roberts, Gartha Burgess, Ann Bowman, Carol Echols, CoreyBbetty; great-nephews, Raymond Terry, Jevon Terry, Jeffrey Williams, Sr., Jeffrey Williams, Jr., Larry Bishop; neighbors and caregivers, Betty Collins, Fannie Hollis, Jewel Tyson and Candace Holden; a host of many other relatives and friends.
Services were held at Broaches Chapel C.M.E. Church in Ocilla on Saturday, April 2 at 11 a.m., with Rev. James Curtis officiating.
Music was provided by the choir
Pallbearers were friends of the family.
Pamela M. Browning
Miss Pamela M. Browning, 43, of Fitzgerald died Monday, March 28, 2005 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Graveside services were held at Evergreen Cemetery on Wednesday, March 30 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Bobby Stone officiating.
Miss Browning was born June 17, 1961 in Irwin County, daughter of Louie J. Browning and the late Marjorie Wiggins Borwning. She lived in the community all of her life, graduating from Ben Hill-Irwin Technical School in secretarial science.
Survivors include her father, Louie J. Browning of Fitzgerald; sisters, Wanda Anderson of Waycross and Teresa Brady of Fitzgerald; a brother, David Browning of Fitzgerald.
Harvey Steverson
Mr. Harvey Steverson, 52, of Fitzgerald died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Services were held at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald on Friday, April 1 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Wilburn Wiley officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Glen Shealey, Jason Guy, Timothy Barnes, Tony Jordan, Sean Steverson and Willie Mitchell.
Mr. Steverson was born March 26, 1953 in Telfair County, son of Sue Annie Branch Steverson and the late Charlie Steverson. He lived in the community most of his life and was a former heavy equipment operator and logger for John Cook. Mr. Steverson was an avid fishermen and of the Holiness faith.
Survivors include his mother, Sue Branch Steverson of Fitzgerald; two daughters and two sons, Donna Guy, Teresa Heath, Harvey Michael and James Allen Steverson, all of Fitzgerald; 13 grandchildren; four brothers, Elvis Steverson of Fitzgerald, Royce Steverson of Ocilla, Ikie Steverson of Moultrie and Thomas Steverson of Fitzgerald; one sister, Barbara Shealey of Fitzgerald; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Steverson.
Dan Redus
Mr. Dan Redus, 67, of Fitzgerald died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at his residence.
Services were held at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald on Saturday, April 2 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Kelly Brown officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Redus was born July 28, 1937 in Vernon, AL, son of the late Joe P. and Bessie Thompson Redus. He lived in the community since 1967 from Douglasville. Mr. Redus was a 1957 graduate of Lamar County High School in Vernon, AL, attended Auburn University and was a 1992 graduate of the Jewelry Institute of America in jewelry repair and diamond setting at Georgia Southern University.
He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church, Fitzgerald, where he taught the Jim Carlton Sunday School class for 30 years, was a member of the choir and Pipe Organ Committee. Mr. Redus was a former Little League baseball coach and Midget football coach. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club and the Fitzgerald Jaycees.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Betty H. Redus of Fitzgerald; children, Dawn Redus Mixon and Sandra Redus Heninger, both of Fitzgerald; John Daniel Redus of Holly Springs, NC and Holly Redus Miller of Newnan; grandchildren, Michael Coffey, Katy Heninger, Kurt Heninger, Kaleb Heninger, Andrew Redus, Aaron Redus, Abby Redus, Addie Miller and Austin Miller and great-grandchild, Blake Coffey.
Waymon H. Walker
Mr. Waymon H. Walker, 69, of Fitzgerald died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Services were held at Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald on Saturday, April 2 at 11 a.m., with Rev. James Griffin officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Walker was born May 24, 1935 in Wheeler County, son of the late Maryland and Minnie Lee Lowie Walker. He lived in the community most of his life and was a former resident of Savannah, Alamo and McRae.
Mr. Walker served in the United States Army and in the Georgia National Guard. He was the former owner/operator of Walker Lock & Key Services and Walker Gun Shop and a former carpenter with Roanoke Construction Company and Dunn Construction Company. Mr. Walker was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and of the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtleen Mathews Walker of Fitzgerald; son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Linda Walker of Fitzgerald; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Paul Hester of Waterloo; grandchildren and spouse, Chris and Krista Walker, Maria Hester, Whitley Walker, Jacob Walker and Adam Hester and great-grandson, Nathan Walker. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Effie Frances Teems
Ms. Effie Frances Teems, 68, of Milan died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Services were held at the Christian Tabernacle in Fitzgerald on Saturday, April 2 at 4 p.m., with Rev. Earlie Holt officiating. Interment followed in Arp Cemetery, Irwin County.
Mrs. Teems was born April 12, 1936 in Tifton, daughter of the late Charlie Norman and Juanita Jenkins Stephens. A homemaker, she lived in Milan for the past five years and lived in Ben Hill County and Telfair County most of her life. Mrs. Teems visited nursing homes, where she held Bible studies and led singing. She was a member of the Christian Tabernacle in Fitzgerald.
Survivors include her husband, Andrew Teems of Milan; stepchildren, Kathaleen Fish of Fitzgerald, Barbara Newsome of Delbarton, WV and Edward Leroy Teems of Tifton; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jewell Roberts of Fitzgerald and Jeanette Cleghorn of Albany; one brother, Donald H. Stephens of Ocilla; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard Clinton and Hugh Dorsey Stephens.
Margie Ruth Mixon
Mrs. Margie Ruth Mixon, age 87, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005. She was born in Toccoa and moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1941 from Ocilla.
Mrs. Mixon was preceded in death by her parents, Dortch and Beatrice Martin, and her husband, Maloy Mixon, who was the son of Archie and Sara Mixon of Irwin County.
She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL.
Survivors include her son, Rev. Raymond Mixon (wife, Beverly); three granddaughters, Kimberly Johnson, Terri Self (husband, Brent) and Tracy Torres (husband, Jorge); seven great-grandchildren, Austin, Derek, Cameron, Collin, Hunter, Olivia and Seth; one brother, Fred Martin (wife, Linda); three sisters, Louise Doyle, Elizabeth Liddell, Dorothy Rabon and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were officiated by Rev. Raymond Mixon and Rev. Gerald Purvis on Saturday, April 2 in the chapel of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home in Jacksonville, FL. For those who prefer, donations may be made to Vision with Compassion Ministries to Cuba, 54276 Hurst Road, Callahan, FL 32011.
Kayla Cobb and Angel Cobb
Kayla Cobb and Angel Cobb, infant twins of Ken and Beth Floyd Cobb, were born on March 21, 2005 and died on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Graveside services were held at Union Cemetery, Ben Hill County on Monday, March 28 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Rickie Carver officiating.
In addition to their parents, Kayla and Angel are survived by a brother, William Austin Cobb of Ben Hill County; grandparents, Austin and Pearlie Floyd of Ben Hill County; Lisa Harper of Adel and John Kennon Cobb of Eufaula, AL; great-grandparents, Jan Manning of Ocilla, Wayne and Pearlie Kent of Elba, AL and Kenneth and Jennifer Cobb of Donalsonville.

Larry Manning
Mr. Larry Manning, 61, of Ocilla died Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Osceola Nursing Home.
Services were held at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Ocilla on Friday, March 25 at 2 p.m., with Rev. David Biggers officiating. Interment followed in Lax Community Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were James Wilkes, Terry Manning Walker, Robert Hutto, Tim Hutto, Danny Hoth and Todd Johnson

Mr. Manning was born July 14, 1943 in Irwin County, son of the late Hall Stephen Manning, Sr. and Jackie Lee Tucker Manning. He lived in the Irwin community most of his life. Mr. Manning was an auto mechanic, having worked for Fitzgerald Ford, Sheppard’s Garage, Quality Muffler and Simpson’s Auto Clinic. He was an avid fisherman and gardener.
Survivors include his wife, Jan P. Manning of Ocilla; daughter and son-in-law, Teressa and Allen Pope of Fitzgerald; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Renee Manning of Fitzgerald; two step daughters and step son-in-law, Lisa Harper of Adel and Laura and Jimmy Watson of Thomaston; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Joyce Manning of Mableton; Terry and Marty Manning Walker of Milan; Bobby and Dawn Manning of Gray; Jessie and Mary Manning of Champaign, IL; Jimmie and Cecilia Manning of Franklin, TN; Billy and Charlene Manning of Tampa, FL and Gary Manning of Atlanta; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Jo and Ernest Padgett of Jacksonville and Linda Manning of California; many nieces and nephews.
