Funeral services for Robert L. Billingsley Jr., 40, were held Saturday, June 10, 2000, at 1 p.m., at the New Salem Baptist Church, Washington, with Rev. R.L. Reynolds officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
He was the son of Robert and Josephine Billingsley and was born in Atlanta. He served on the usher board and attended Timothy Baptist Church in Athens. He was a 1978 graduate of Greene County High School.
Survivors include his wife, Linda W. Billingsley; three sons, Antonio DeRico, Gregory Raashad, and Sterling Jermaine; his parents; a granddaughter, Mya Moniquie; three brothers, Leroy Callaway, Detroit, MI, Rev. Lemuel O. Billingsley, Athens, and Joseph D. Billingsley, Fairfax, Va.; three sisters, Jacquelyn B. Smith, Atlanta, Karen B. Stills, Knoxville, TN, and Merilyn B. Wells, Atlanta; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Benton and Mr. and Mrs. James McWhorter of Cincinnati, OH.

Sharieka Monique Sherrer
Graveside services for Sharieka Monique Sherrer, 21, of Washington were held Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at 1 p.m., at City West Cemetery with Rev. Lamar Davenport officiating. She died Friday, June 2.
Miss Sherrer was the daughter of Sharia L. Sherrer and James L. Binns of Washington. She attended Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School, graduating with the Class of 1997. She had attended Savannah State University for a year and was employed by Movie Gallery of Washington.
Survivors include her parents; a brother, Jamarrus A. Sherrer of Washington; maternal grandmother, Sarah A. Sherrer, Washington; maternal grandfather, Marion Norman Jr., Washington; and godmother, Clardell McLendon, Washington.
Members of the W-WCHS Class of 1997 served as pallbearers.

Amicus Benson Teasley
Funeral services for Amicus Benson Teasley, 79, of Bethany Church Road, Lincolnton, were held Friday, June 2, 2000, at Bethany United Methodist Church, Lincolnton, with Rev. Dan Fernandez, Rev. Elvyn McDonald, and Ray Teasley officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. He died May 31, in Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington.
Mr. Teasley was a native of Lincoln County and was the son of the late John Amicus Teasley and the late Mary Tom Cason Teasley. He had retired as a logger and was former co-owner of Teasley-Reed Logging. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of American Legion Post No. 194. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church where he was a member of the men’s club and the Mary Tom Bible Class and former chairman of the administrative board.
Survivors include his wife, Effie D. Teasley of Lincolnton; three daughters, Beverly Ann Teasley and Jean T. Rice of Lincolnton, and Malinda T. Erwin, Winterville; four grandchildren, Jessica Evans, Kathy Erwin, Billy Erwin, and Maggie Erwin; and a great-grandson, Nicky Evans.
Pallbearers included Tim Brown, Wade Dunaway, Peyton McGill, Sam C. McGill Jr., Bobby Teasley, Randy Teasley, John A. Teasley III, and Tracy S. Teasley.

Julian Paul Simons
Funeral services for Julian Paul Simons, 78, of Conley were held Monday, June 5, 2000, at the Norwood Baptist Church in Warren County with Rev. John Jenkins officiating. Burial was in Scruggs Cemetery, Norwood. He died June 2 in Beverly Health Care, Jonesboro.
Mr. Simons was a native of Warren County and was the son of the late Daniel Zackeous Simons and the late Annie Mae Parham Simons. He was a retired printer for The Atlanta Journal where he was employed for 22 years. He was a member of Rock Baptist Church, Rex, Ga., and was a U.S Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Giffith Simons of Conley; a daughter, Kimberly Miller, Stockbridge; a brother, Judson Simons, Warrenton; five sisters, Margaurite English, Allene Coxwell and Ruth Gunn, all of Warrenton, Edith Hawse, Madison, and Clyde Garhutto, Brunswick.

Estred H. Schwantes Barfield
Graveside services for Estred H. Schwantes Barfield, 85, of Lindsborg, Kansas, were held Wednesday, May 24, 2000, at the Mission Hill Cemetery, in Smolan, Kansas, followed by a memorial service at the Bethany Home Chapel where she made her home in Lindsborg, with Rev. David Smith and Rev. Don Hawk officiating. She died Sunday, May 21, at Lindsborg Community Hospital.
Mrs. Barfield was the daughter of the late David and Lydia Erickson Johnson. She was the wife of Percy Barfield, a native of Wilkes County, and visited here with him many times. She was a musician and former choir director, organist and secretary for the United Church of Christ, and board member of Homeland Ministries of the United Church of Christ. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Lindsborg, and the DAV Auxiliary, Salina, Kansas.
Survivors in addition to her husband include two sons, David Schwantes and James Schwantes of Lindsborg, Kansas, and a stepson, Mike Barfield, Prairie Village, Kansas; and four grandchildren.

Nora Belle Randolph
Funeral services for Nora Belle Randolph, 81, were held Saturday, June 3, 2000, at New Salem Baptist Church, Washington, with Rev. R.L. Reynolds officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. She died May 25.
She was the daughter of Georgia Maria Randolph Jackson and was reared by her grandparents, Temp and Della Asbery Randolph. She had been a member of the New Salem Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board and in the choir. She had lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, since 1947, and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary A. Heath of Crawfordville, and Thelma Campbell of Mt. Vernon, NY; a brother, Rance Jackson Jr. of Crawfordville; and other relatives in the area.
Nephews served as pallbearers.

Thomas Watson Armour
Graveside services for Thomas Watson Armour, 89, of Greensboro Rd., Washington, were held Saturday, May 27, 2000, at the County Line Baptist Church Cemetery, Rayle, with Rev. Thompson Holliman and Rev. Danny Holdredge officiating. He died May 25 in Wills Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Watson was a native and lifelong resident of Wilkes County. He was the son of the late James Thomas Armour and the late Sarah Echols Armour and was a member of Carters Grove Baptist Church. His wife was the late Cynthia Franklin Armour. He had served in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and was a retired security guard.
Survivors include three sons, Watson Armour, Washington, Charles E. Armour, Danielsville, and Fred H. Armour, Elberton; three daughters, Winnie A. Thompson and Nancy A. Moon, Washington, and Janice A. Browning, Winterville; a sister, Lora Lee Harrison, Eatonton; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Carters Grove or County Line Baptist churches.

Bennie Willis
Funeral services for Bennie Willis, 78, of Davenport Road, Rayle, were held Saturday, May 27, 2000, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Rayle, with Rev. Ben K. Willis officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. He died May 24.
Mr. Willis was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of the late Bud Lee and Mary Frances Willis. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary O. Willis, Rayle; a son, Edward E. Willis, Rayle; two daughters, Geraldine Willis Dill, Washington, and Brenda Willis, Rayle; three grandchildren, Leroy Johnson, Ft. Eustis, Va., Marcus Dill, Athens, and Syneta Dill, Washington.
Pallbearers included Eddie Bankston, Leroy Clark, Clifford Hanson, Floyd Johnson, Joe Johnson, and Ricky Johnson.

Juanita Eulalia Barnes
Funeral services for Juanita Eulalia Barnes, 61, were held Monday, May 29, 2000, at Springfield Baptist Church, Washington, with Rev. Lamar Davenport officiating. She died May 24.
She was the daughter of the late Richard Edward and Willie Mae Crew Barnes.
Survivors include four daughters, Carolyn Barnes, Eulalia Williams, Estralita Barnes and Deborah Barnes, all of Washington; two sons, Marshall Barnes, Washington, and Kelvin Barnes; a brother Richard Barnes Jr.; stepmother, Mrs. Ruby Barnes of Macon; grandmother, Mrs. Bertha Crew; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a half-sister, Hattie Callaway; and a foster son, Carey Davis.

Stanley Chaney
Funeral services for Stanley Chaney, 45, of Crook Road, Lincolnton, were held Sunday, May 28, 2000, at Loco Baptist Church in Lincoln County with Rev. George Hollis officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. He died Friday, May 26, at Emory Healthcare, Decatur.
Mr. Chaney was born in Ocilla, and had lived in Lincoln County for 25 years. He was employed by Bobby E. Rachels Masonry and was a brick mason. He was a member of the Loco Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Tammie B. Chaney of Lincolnton; his mother, Mrs. Helen Ansley, Thomson; two sons, Stanley Chaney and Edmond Brown, both of Lincolnton; four daughters, Suzanne Moon, Melissa Chaney, Kimberly Chaney, and Lacey Brown, all of Lincolnton; two brothers, Steve Chaney, Augusta, and Jeff Chaney, Lincolnton; one sister, Pam Brown, Thomson; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Mike Phillips, Mickey Reville, Paul Prince, Keith Wright, Edward Harley, and Britt Barnett.

Lavinia Partee
Graveside services for Lavinia Partee, 80, of Brookhaven were held Friday, May 26, 2000, in the Decatur Cemetery. She died Monday, May 22.
Miss Partee was born in Washington-Wilkes in 1920 and grew up in Decatur. She was the daughter of the late Woodie Augustus Partee and the late Edna Lavinia Chafin Partee. She was a longtime employee of the SunTrust Bank, having retired as an assistant vice-president. She was widely known for her love and enthusiasm for horses. Over the years her Morgan horses won many ribbons as well as national and world championships.
Survivors include a brother, James E. Partee; two sisters, Mary Partee Funkhouser, Harrison, Va., and E. Anne Partee.
She was a neighbor in Brookhaven of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Oslin, formerly of Washington.
Mildred M. Lynn
Graveside services for Mrs. Mildred M. Lynn, 85, of Hill St., Washington, were held Monday, September 11, 2000, at Resthaven Cemetery, Washington, with Rev. Danny Holdredge officiating. She died Saturday, September 9, in Elbert County Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Lynn was a native and lifelong resident of Wilkes County. She was the daughter of the late B.C. Mansfield and the late Cleo Norman Mansfield. and was the widow of William P. Lynn. She was a member of County Line Baptist Church in Wilkes County and had retired from Almar Manufacturing Co., Washington.
Survivors include a son, William P. Lynn Jr., Hollywood, FL; a brother, Norman H. (Connie) Mansfield, Washington; and two grandsons, Byron Lynn and Chuck Lynn.
Pallbearers included Johnny Mansfield, Jerry Mansfield, Chuck Lynn, Marion Mansfield, Jonnie Walker, and Byron Lynn.

Ernesteen Mitchell Whitener
Graveside services for Mrs. Ernesteen Mitchell Whitener, 65, of Jones St., Tignall, were held Friday, September 9, 2000, at 3 p.m., at the Independence United Methodist Church Cemetery, Tignall, with Rev. Clyde Davis officiating. She died Tuesday, September 5, in the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta.
Mrs. Whitener was born in Douglas County and was the widow of Roy G. Whitener. She was of the Methodist faith and had retired from Concord Fabrics.
Survivors include three sons, Danny J. Whitener, Buford, Chris Whitener and Kerry D. Whitener, Tignall; a brother, Alfred Mitchell, Aiken, S.C.; and two grandchildren.
