STEVE FRANKLIN HUDSON
Steve Franklin Hudson, 51, of Leary, died April 22, 2004 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 26, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Melvin Moody and Rev. Jim Pelt. Interment followed in Live Oak Free Will Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Bob Sheffield, Barry Daniel, Terrell Daniel, Larry DeBarry, Mike Pepper, Ronnie Little. Honorary pallbearers were Del Flanigan, Jimmy Daniel and Mike Little.
Mr. Hudson was born February 21, 1953 in Dougherty County. He worked in production at Shaw Industry and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his mother, Laurestine Hudson of Leary; two brothers, Jack Hudson of Albany and Richard Hudson of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Joyce Hathcock of Pensacola, FL and Dale Hudson of Leary and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Jenkins Hudson, in 1970.

TERRY MELVIN SHELTON
Terry Melvin Shelton, 62 died May 5, 2004 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Bainbridge on March 21, 1942. Terry Grew up in baker County and graduated from Miller County high School. Terry was a United States Navy veteran having served in the early 60's. Terry moved to Atlanta in 1966 and has remained in the Atlanta area until his death.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Hazel Shelton. Terry is survived by his wife Kathy Williams Shelton and his son Michael Patrick Shelton of Snellville; a daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Gerard Lee of Port St. Lucie, FL; a sister Rose Marie Friedlander of St. Simons Island; a sister and brother-in-law, Lougene and Richard E. Tidwell of Marietta and a brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Sharon Shelton of Marietta and several nieces and nephews.
Terry was an avid reader and has passed this love of reading on to his son Michael.
The Celebration of Life memorial service was held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 8, 2004 at the funeral home with the Rev. Keith Allsbrook officiating.

AILEEN MOSS LONG
Aileen Moss Long, 70, of Donalsonville, died Monday, May 3, 2004 at her son's residence in Donalsonville.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. at Donalsonville Church of God with Rev. Mylan Brookins and Rev. R.B. Gaskins officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakview Church of God Cemetery in Donalsonville.

Mrs. Long was born on October 4, 1933 in Seminole County to the late W.S. Moss and Monett Lawson Moss. She had lived in this area most of her life. She married Gerald Long on February 28, 1953. She was a homemaker and an active member of Donalsonville Church of God.
Survivors include her husband Rev. Gerald Long of Donalsonville; her mother, Monett Moss of Donalsonville; two sons and their wives Ken and Vickie Long of Mershon and Rev. Stan and Becky Long of Donalsonville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, W.S. Moss and her twin sister Kathleen Moss Herring. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
JOHNNIE MAE FLOWERS
Johnnie Mae Flowers, 83, of Attapulgus, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at Memorial Hospital and Manor.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 6, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Attapulgus Cemetery with Rev. Charles Barwick officiating. Interment will follow in Attapulgus Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 5, 2004 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home.
Mrs. Flowers was born in Decatur County on January 6, 1921. She lived most of her life in Attapulgus and was a retired desk clerk at Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Eastern Star and the Attapulgus Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Howard Craig Flowers of Yulee, FL; one sister, Doris Jones of Attapulgus and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John William Booth and Bronnie Mae Barrows and her husband, Bill Flowers.

BAMA LESSIE HULSEY
Bama Lessie Hulsey, 85, of Judsonia, AK, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004.
Funeral services were held at Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Searcy, AK with Bro. Michael Hulsey officiating. Interment followed in White County Memorial Gardens in Searcy, AK.
Pallbearers were Bob Watkins, Dale Johnson, James Haynie, Danny Wood, Jack Hampton, Charles Bauer, Truman Skinner and Larry Hoffman.
Mrs. Hulsey was born February 25, 1919 in Galliver, FL, the daughter of Joseph Henry and Callie Meredith Helms. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse and a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Searcy, AK. She was a former resident and graduate of Miller County.
Survivors include four sons, Bill Gilbert of St. Augustine, FL, David Hulsey of Judsonia, AK, Michael Hulsey of Searcy, AK, Chuck Hulsey of Fort Smith, AK; one daughter, Dawn Gay of Judsonia, AK; one sister, Lillian Richardson of Colquitt; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

EDITH SCOTT FULLER JOHNSON
Dr. Edith Scott fuller Johnson, 61, died Friday, April 30, 2004 in Turner County.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Dr. Paul Rader officiating. Interment followed in Westview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were troopers with the Georgia State Patrol.
Dr. Johnson was born March 13, 1943 in Berrien County. She was an English and Literature professor at Moultrie Technical College. She was also employed at Abraham Baldwin College in the early 1990s as an English and Literature professor. She was very active and involved in the Indian Springs campground in Jackson.
Survivors include two daughters, Marijim Reeves of Lexington, KY and Meg Bragdon of Plymouth, NH; one son, Buddy Johnson of Colquitt; two sisters, Mary Jim Luce of Fort Valley and Kay Rader of Lexington, KY; one brother, James O. Fuller, Jr. of Marion, IN and eight grandchildren.

JAMES H. MILLINER
James H. Milliner, 77, of Colquitt, died Monday, May 3, 2004 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Colquitt First Baptist Church with Rev. Don Bazal officiating and Mack H. Sloan presenting a eulogy. Interment will follow at Colquitt Cemetery. Music was provided by Sam Dunn, brother-in-law of James.
Active pallbearers will be Hank Sloan, Damon Yates, Devon Yates, Lee Milliner, Roger Bass and Joe Sloan. Honorary pallbearers will be the Harrell Sunday School Class.

Mr. Milliner was born on November 1, 1926 in Colquitt. He retired in 1986 from the State Highway Department. He was a member of the Colquitt First Baptist Church and the Harrell Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Milliner of Colquitt; two daughters, Rita Sloan and Gail Yates and son-in-law John, all of Colquitt; one son, Larry Milliner and daughter-in-law Joy of Enterprise, AL; two sisters, Alice Addison of Colquitt and Faye Pendergraph of Ackworth; one brother, Homer Milliner of Albany; five grandchildren, Lee Milliner of Enterprise, AL, Mack H. Sloan, Jr. and wife Stacie of Cummings, Kadee Sloan of Phoenix, AZ, Damon and Devon Yates of Cummings; two great-grandchildren, Macaila Sloan and Daniel Sloan, both of Cummings and several nieces and nephews.

Henry A. Palmer, Jr., 80, of Bainbridge, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 14, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Black Jack Baptist Church Cemetery in Bainbridge with Rev. Charles W. Jones officiating.
Mr. Palmer was born December 24, 1923, in Decatur County, the son of Henry A. Palmer and Mary Virginia Dollar Palmer. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, and married Doris Elaine Powe on February 15, 1945. He was a retired mechanic from Amoco Fabrics and Fibers, and formerly worked with Nehi Bottling Company for 26 years. He was a member of Black Jack Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Powe Palmer of Bainbridge; three daughters, Wilda Gardner and her husband Allen of Brinson and Janice Meredith and her husband Robert and Laura Jenson and her husband Forrest, both of Bainbridge; one brother, Paul Palmer of Panama City, FL; one sister, Henrietta Broadaway of Albany; eight grandchildren, Kelly Gardner of Plains; William Gardner of Brinson and Christy Phillips and her husband Jamie, Robbie Meredith, Julie Lassiter, Ashleigh Jenson, Samantha Jenson and Bryant Jenson, all of Bainbridge; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

REPPARD TOLITHA TEAGUE
Reppard Tolitha Teague, 91, of Bainbridge, formerly of Clayton, died Monday, May 10, 2004 at Miller County Hospital following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 14, 2004, from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. John Humphries officiating. Interment will follow in Rabun Memory Park.
Mrs. Teague was born in Rabun County on July 21, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Raleigh and Mary Norton Ledford. She lived most of her life in Rabun County prior to moving to Bainbridge in 1996. She was a homemaker and member of Dillard United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Phil M. and Linda Teague of Lumber Bridge, NC and three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clarence Teague.

HERSHEL DEAN HYDE, JR.
Hershel Dean Hyde, Jr., 34, of Bainbridge, died Monday, May 10, 2004 at Miller County Hospital.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. in Traveler's Rest Cemetery with Rev. John Padgett officiating.
Mr. Hyde was born October 16, 1969 in Manning, SC and worked in construction/dry wall.
Survivors include his wife, Gretta Hyde of Camilla; one daughter, Marcie Eden Hyde of Bainbridge; one son, Jordan Guy Hyde of Bainbridge; his father, Hershel Dean Hyde, Sr. of Sumter, SC; two sisters, Marianne Hyde and Alice Hyde, both of Sumter, SC.
He was preceded by death by one son, Cameron Blake Hyde and his mother, Francis Hyde.

GLORIA DALE RICHARDSON
Gloria Dale Richardson, 64, of Colquitt, died Monday, May 10, 2004 at her residence.
She will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Richardson was born October 23, 1939. She was preceded in death by her parents Bobbie Lee and Eunice Gilbert and two brothers, Richard Gilbert and Bobby Gilbert.
Survivors include one daughter, Felicia Smith and son-in-law Ricky of Colquitt; one granddaughter, Victoria Smith of Colquitt; one brother, Herbert Gilbert of Velrico, FL; one sister, Annette Wacaser of Velrico, FL and one sister-in-law, Carolyn Gilbert of Lakeland, FL.

Glenn Jones, 49, of Bainbridge, died Friday, May 7, 2004 in Bainbridge.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 13, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at Hice Property at River Oaks.
Mr. Jones was born December 6, 1954 in Hamilton County, TN. He has lived in Decatur County for 35 years. He worked for Jones Wrecker Service and Body Shop and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his parents Robert V. Jones and Sharon Joan Phillips; his stepmother, Mary R. Jones; one brother, Greg S. Jones of Bainbridge; two step-brothers, John D. Clayton of Virginia Beach, VA and Steven D. Clayton of Canton; two sisters, Beverly Ann Penny and Elizabeth Ellen Foster, both of Sarasota, FL.

Ione Gertrude Sheffield, 92, of Leary, died Monday, May 17, 2004 at Calhoun Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Patmos Free Will Baptist Church with interment following in Patmos Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Sheffield was born December 19, 1911 in Baker County. She was the owner of Sheffield Grocery in Baker Co. for over 50 years and after her husband’s death in 1985, she continued to operate Sheffield Farms until her retirement in 1999.
Survivors include one daughter, Myrlene Sheffield of Leary; one brother, Carl Gleaton and sister-in-law Betty of Dowell, IL; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
